This is a very small restaurant that is clean, casual and pleasant. They brought water and took our order quickly. The service was excellent - attentive but not smothering. The Pho was good. Not as deeply flavored a broth as I have had, but full of good flavor. Fresh Thai basil, sliced jalapeño, lime wedges and sprouts accompany the noodle soup. This place has a lot going for it. Fast and friendly service. Comfy seats and a clean dining area. Large tasty spring rolls and an affordable menu. However, this place fell a little short for me. I ordered the Pad King and I would not recommend it at all. It had so many slices of fresh ginger that I had to pick them out in order for it to be edible. I guess I don't like ginger as much as I thought! She also said the dish would have a kick, but it was extremely mild and other than ginger it didn't offer much flavor at all. The green onions weren't chopped and were hard to eat. I wasn't a fan of the dish at all. We also ordered the Pad Bai Grapow and I would recommend that. We ordered it hot and it had flavor, but wasn't as spicy as you normally see at other Thai places. It was very flavorful though and I was impressed with it overall. A perfect experience every time. Unassuming little shop in a Sandy strip mall. Their Massaman with pork or chicken is perfect and the best Utah can offer. Chicken satay is tender and generous and served with a nice peanut sauce. The Pad Thai I believe is the best balance of sweet and savory. My absolute 100% go-to for Thai. Great service, consistent food, fair prices. To-go is always accurate and fresh. Interior is a bit boring but who cares with food this good. EDIT: their shrimp dishes are a bit, unexcitings. I stopped here for lunch a few days ago. Their lunch menu was small but very reasonably priced. The service was fantastic and quick which was perfect for a lunch break. I enjoyed that the lunch specials came with either potstickers or cream cheese and krab puffs. I do think that my lunch would have been better if the pieces of chicken had been a little larger. I ate at Thai Mango biweekly when it was down in Provo and Dawn, the owner/server/hostess/does everything remembered my favorite dishes, along with the favorites of my dozen or so friends who went with me consistently. I moved up to Sandy and I've been on the hunt for a good Thai place ever since. After eating at every Thai place north of 4500 South and east of State Street, I had some favorites but nothing that I liked as much as Thai Mango; so I was understandably excited when it opened 10 minutes from my house. Why do I like Thai Mango so much? Let's talk about it. It's the only place that I'll order Rad Nah, as you can get it with crispy noodles and the gravy is rich and flavorful. Their curries (especially the massaman and pineapple) have a perfect balance of sweet, spicy, and savory. Their Pad Kee Mao has a great assortment of veggies, perfect amounts of spice, and just-firm-enough noodles. Delicious Tom Kha Gai. They also have my favorite Pad Gaprow in Utah. Pad Gaprow needs a good amount of basil, enough spice, and for the meat to be diced small enough to absorb the flavor from the sauce. Thai Mango kills it on all three counts. If you have celiacs, they can make most dishes gluten-free. My 3-month old is allergic to gluten and so my wife has to go gluten-free and Dawn is always willing to make whatever changes she needs to make to help us out. If the food weren't enough of a reason to go, Dawn would be. The first time I walked into the Sandy location, after not being in the restaurant for two years, Dawn remembered me and remembered my favorite dishes. She's friendly, she cares about her customers, and she's always looking for ways to make your experience better. Eat there now. Support this place. read more

Soooo freaking gooooood! Utahns, I have an announcement to make and I want everyone to hear it, Thai Mango is delicious. I'll explain the 4 star later as I know that is the first question, "then why'd you give it 4 stars" (in a high pitched snippy voice, I know you). Initial impression was great, small hole in the wall place, my favorite. Upon entering the food joint I was impressed with the cleanliness and simple decor, nothing to take away from what was to come... the food. I was seated quickly by a pleasant woman and was asked if I needed anything, got water, what else do you get in Utah? Am I right!?!?! Anyway, I ended up ordering the yellow curry with Chicken and two pot stickers. Guys, when I got it I was taken back by the aroma it put off, absolutely delicious. Your mouth begins to water, your spirits raise, your soul is taken... okay enough of the mumbo jumbo writing... the food was freaking good. The yellow curry came in a bowl in, for the most part, soup form. It included some potatoes, spinach and some other stuff. The actual curry had so much POW, that you couldn't resist eating it, it sang as a siren would, drawing you in closer, instead of death, pure pleasure. You also got a big helping of rice, which was good too. Anyway, for all you snippity snipps, I gave it 4 stars because it took a while for our lunch order to come out... by a while I mean like 25 minutes or so when there weren't that many people in there. YES, YES, YES! A great, more than great Thai restaurant that is not downtown! I am a fan of Sawadee and Thai Siam, but don't really like driving downtown and dealing with parking. We've come to this place more times than we can count and we absolutely positively LOVE their food. Our usual order includes Masaman curry, Pad Thai, Pad See-Ew and also Larb Gai. We also love our Thai iced teas. It doesn't matter how packed this place is (and lately it has been even busier) they nail each dish every time. We've never waited more than 10 minutes for our food either which is great since we have kids under 6. On a random note, I also love their chairs - they're so comfortable! Service is also great, and even though parking can be tight at times, it's never like downtown. I wish they were a bit closer to my neighborhood so I could eat there more than once a week! Our kids have learned to like Thai food here. The kitchen staff is very thoughtful on the amount of spice put in the food as well. We adults like it spicier but my 3-year-old can't handle it so we always expect our food not spicy. Just thinking about it now makes me hungry... I better go place an order for pickup! read more

We just flew into SLC and were hungry for lunch. We have had some very authentic Thai food in this city before so I was eager to try a new place. After taking a quick glance at the menu I had my doubts about the food being authentic but it had good Yelp reviews and we were all starving. They had pho in the menu which is not Thai, but Vietnamese. They didn't use the Thai names of dishes consistently, and the server didn't speak any Thai. So I was bit skeptical. Then came the food, we ordered papaya salad and it came drenched in some brown orangey sauce. I have never seen that before and I did not eat it. Fortunately my husband did. The soup I ordered tasted like they used soup seasoning, lacked the chilis lemon grass, the normal spices. Also it was served in the big metal round dish where there is supposed to be a fire under it to cook it. No fire. Yikes! Husband thought it taste ok but he's white, I'm Asian, he doesn't have the Asian palate to know better. His noodles were covered in some dark brown sauce not Thai, note more like Chinese style chow mein starchy sauce. Lastly, we were there with our international host student from Thailand. She commented that this was not Thai and I agree with her. Ordered pho noodle soup. It again tasted like they used pho soup seasoning. No depth. Nothing authentic here. So... Starving people cannot be choosers, come if you must. But be forewarned if you are expecting real Thai food you will not find it here. If generic Asian cuisine is what you are looking for then you will be pleased. read more

Serendipitously ran into some old friends here. They were connoisseurs of fine dining, and this was one of their favorite hole in the wall finds. Some of the best Thai food I think I have ever had! This place is only a mile from our house. We love Thai, so we decided to try it. And are we glad we did. Their sign, Mango Thai, was poorly lit so it was a little difficult to find the place. The restaurant is new, modern, and clean. We got the Mango Thai and Pad Kee Mao. We like it spicy, but because this was our first time here, we ordered Medium. Glad we did because Medium was plenty spicy. The vegetables were crisp, and the mango and pineapple sweet. We had chicken which was moist and abundant. We could have just shared the Thai Mango. I'm really picky when it comes to Thai food...especially because I am Thai. I get delicious authentic food at home and I am from California (Where there are so many delicious options for Thai restaurants!) I yelped some Thai restaurants nearby in Sandy and found Thai Mango. I ordered the Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noddles) and Thai Fried Rice. The owner came over to personally greet our table and she was really extremely friendly! The food arrived and it was delicious! I asked for extra seasoning (Thai people always add extra peppers and etc.) and the food tasted as if I was eating a home cooked meal. Yummy! If anyone is in Sandy or looking for good Thai food I would highly recommend coming to support this friendly and local restaurant. :) read more

So glad I found this place! Best pot stickers! I ordered the sampler appetizers and pumpkin curry. The pumpkin curry is one of my favorite curries I have had. Like, Ever. It had a tiny kick (I am a wimp with spicy/hot) but my mouth wasn't on fire. Super yummy flavors. In the sampler platter I tried; Crispy egg rolls- very, very good. I have been disappointed time and time again by egg rolls and these were really good. Fresh spring rolls- (one of my favorite foods on the planet) they were okay here. The ingredients they put inside were delicious, but the rice wrap was a little hard and chewy so I was a little disappointed. Could have been an off day, so I will definitely try again. Cream cheese wontons- they were good. A little over-crisped and not much filling, but good. It says crab on the menu but I didn't notice any kind of crab flavor whatsoever. I thought they were just cream cheese. Pot stickers- my Favorite pot stickers I have had in a long time. I would come here just for them. Chicken & pork satay- both were so incredibly dry that there was no flavor and I didn't even finish either of them. It was that texture that you take apart like corn husks. Hands down the best thai I've ever had in Sandy. (Is there better Thai in Sandy? Save yourself some time and do not tell me about it because I do not typically drive to Sandy for food, so you get to keep it to yourself!!) Wife & I came across this restaurant because of good Yelp reviews, and they are deserved! We got the spicy fried rice, which had perfectly textured/cooked tofu and just the right amount (a very, very small amount) of fish sauce flavor. We also got the pumpkin curry, which was very good, although the pumpkin pieces were a bit mushy (it was the *very* end of the day and the pumpkin supply may have been running low). Spice levels were nice and spicy for both dishes, and the service (for takeout) was very friendly. Finally, price was right for those 2 dishes: ~$23 after tax. If you're ever unlucky enough to be stuck in the hellish suburban sprawl-hole of Sandy, Utah, make sure you try Thai Mango! read more
