First off, it is very big inside. I came two days in a row and nothing disappointed. OK I ordered General Tso chicken... What I got I have no idea what this is. I got chicken nuggets, fried chicken nuggets with carrots and broccoli as a side and a sauce that had peanuts in it which makes no sense because General Tso chicken doesn't have peanuts! We ordered the Cheese Roll, Beef Drunken Noodle, Chicken Pad Thai, Chicken Thai Jin friend rice and sesame chicken. Overall we liked the Chicken Pad Thai, which was sweet and savory and saucy like it should be very delish! Beef Drunken Noodle taste was good but it was more on the dry side, I have had better drunken noodles, thai Jin fried rice was good, which contained more mixed vegetables than the usual fried rice. The Sesame chicken was underwhelming, I was not a fan, the sauce came separate, it tasted more like soy sauce, salty and it's not the usual glazed chicken with sweet sauce and sprinkled sesame seeds that you normally get at other Asian joints. So would not recommend getting their sesame chicken. I had to end it with Thai Tea, and that was refreshing as ever!! read more

Restaurant ambiance seems ok upon entry, service is average. You better love sugar because they put it in everything! (Including the soy sauce) Fried Rice would have been ok except they added sugar. In my opinion, all the Thai restaurants taste the same, although people have tried to convince me into believing that Thai Gourmet is the best. My search is still on. I normally get the pad kee mao with beef, but this time around went with spicy basil beef, that came with a small cup of soup, small mini salad and a spring roll. My friend went with a ginger chicken, which also came with the same side items. My beef dish was good, sautéed with onions, bell peppers, tomatoes, baby corn and garnished with crushed peppers. I went with level 4 spicy. The ginger chicken was pretty good also. Came with a nice amount of veggies with protein and nice ginger kick to it. Service was up to par. We ordered and paid for our food through yelp, so that it would be ready when we arrived. We got the pad Thai with tofu (upcharge for tofu is kind of odd, but oh well) and the chicken with broccoli. When we arrived, our food was ready to go and packaged up, and the gentleman who handed off our food was friendly. When we got back, we were not disappointed with our choices. We were slightly surprised when we opened the pad Thai, and there was a thin layer of an omelette type thing covering the noodles. It tasted fine, but we have never had pad Thai served in that way. We asked for the tofu to be cooked crispy in the order notes, and fortunately, they complied. The food had a good amount of spice, and lots of texture due to fresh bean sprouts, peanuts, and crispy tofu. The chicken and broccoli was served in a bowl and was accompanied by carrots cut into discs and by a thin, light sauce. I was hoping for chicken that was not battered or fried, and I got just that. Tried takeout from this place for the first time and we were not disappointed. I ordered the pineapple curry with chicken - medium spicy and my boyfriend ordered the pad Thai with beef - medium. Before the pad thai arrived, the waitress served me a small salad which had a nice dressing on it. When my entree arrived, I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of heat the "medium" was. It made my nose run but the heat was not overpowering...just the way I like my Thai food! Overall the dish was pretty good, but not the best. The pad thai was more bland than flavorful. The food was subpar and as I'm currently sitting in the restaurant I'm not sure if it will make me sick....yet. We had to get up to get our own plates for sushi that we ordered and we ultimately ended up waiting longer than we actually spent eating. While we were eating the young lady that was behind the sushi bar came out and started loudly fighting with the servers. Bottom line, would we come back? This to me was not authentic.. curry was blah at best thai lanna is 100 percent better. What happens when you try to do Japanese Chinese and Thai food at once. When I first learned about Thai Jin, I was a little skeptical. Great Asian food located outside of Chinatown? After a couple of visits, I have gotten to know the amazing food and the friendly staff. The menu items have icons to indicate the region. After spoken to the owner, the Chinese food is more like taste accustomed to Chinese in Thailand. There are degrees of spiciness. I want to taste my food, not pungently spicy. Thai Jin hit the target just right. The mild has a hint of heat and it doesn't over power the dish. I don't want to this review to be lengthy. I will use words to describe how I feel about the dish I tried. I will focus on the noodles and curries. Overall, I love the decor. I love the location (convenient lunch spot from work). I came across this place on Yelp, when looking for what to eat today at lunch. I liked this place because 1. it's Thai 2. they offer delivery & take out options 3. its located on Gessner, pretty close to me. I ordered online for a future pick up time and it was ready by the time I got there. It's located in a nice shopping center with an HEB to the right of it and a Starbucks to the left of it. Spacious parking lot and the interior is very cozy and nicely decorated. I ordered the Pad Thai lunch special and it was pretty good! Their lunch specials include a cup of soup, container of salad and an egg roll. The egg roll is small, and comes with a little cup of sauce. Perfect lunch portion. read more

This is a neighborhood place that we frequent. Hard to pass up a spot with sushi and Thai food all in one. The menu is large and has options that will peak your interest. Servers are few and far between and most of the time the owner will wait on you among the other 1-2 seated tables as the only server. The booth seats have not been recovered in years and kids end up complaining that their legs are getting scratched up by the broken/cracked fleather. The quality of the food has diminished drastically and continues to do so as time progresses. Sad to see a place with such potential and great location slowly dissolve. Hopefully they can bounce back and focus on quality food with quality ingredients (especially for sushi) for their local customers. read more

Artfully placed colorful veggies in every dish made it food that much more visually appealing. - quantity of food was fantastic. Lots of meat and veggies in the food, not all rice or noodles like some places. -flavor was excellent. Spicy but flavorful and not drowning in salt. We enjoyed everything we ordered, but the house fried rice really took the cake. I've always thought of fried rice as an 'ok' dish, but this stuff was magical. The red curry was good, but nothing to obsess over. It wasn't rich and creamy like how it should be. I ordered the beef Pad See Ew (which means Stir Fried Soy Sauce noodles) tasted decent, yet again, nothing to get all giddy about. The beef was tasteless, bland, and inelegant. The flat noodles were stuck together in large bundles. The restaurant has a quiet, ambient setting for an intimate dinner date, but too bad the food won't compliment the setting much. So disappointing...1) Pineapple fried rice tasted like curry. I've never experienced the curry taste at other establishments 2) sweet Soy sauce noodle was super duper bland.
