Super small and cramped inside but food was good. Good portion sizes and prices just hated how for a sit down classy place it's this tiny, the taxes were so small for 2 people. read more

Good, inexpensive Thai, I got the drunken noodles and tasted some Pad Thai. It's also nice to find Singha beer... Good stuff

My boyfriend and I came here and were very happy with the food. This place has the BEST peanut sauce I've ever tried! I got the pineapple fried rice with chicken and my boyfriend got the peanut chicken and we both loved our choices. However-the service was atrocious. I'm not sure if our waiter was new, but we were not happy with the service we received. We didn't realize how small this place is so we didn't make a reservation, which ended up being fine being that it was a week night and they seated us within 10 minutes. We ordered our food within about 5 mins of sitting down, then waited about 40 mins to be served - and the place wasn't even crowded! After about a half hour we asked how long our food would be and the server said it'd be a few more minutes, which was accurate. But my food was hot and my boyfriends had clearly been sitting in the kitchen for a while before being brought out, so it was almost cold. We asked the server to have it heated up and he did so with a little bit of an attitude. The server also never came to see how our meals were, to fill our drinks, etc. All in all I would say we will definitely be getting food from here in the future because it was SO good. We'll just do take out next time! read more

Always love coming here for great dinner and amazingly friendly service. Will be there many more times.

This place is probably one of the best Thai places I've been to. Many places try to do Thai, but very few do it well. The Thai House has a nice menu, great specials and calming atmosphere. It can get crowded very quickly, so reservations are recommended. Servers are very pleasant and nice as well! If you are a fan of duck, try it here! Thai House also has great whole fish! read more

Had massaman curry, and also had some duck, it was all really delicious, and I really liked the dish the curry was served in, we had the the lobster roll appetizer to start off, it was not memorable, but overall decent Thai food. read more

I get takeout all the time here and sat down to eat last night, which was a Friday for the 1st time. No reservation but they got us in anyway, which was great! As an appetizer I got the thai fried wings and they were amazing. There was a hint of spice but not bad @ all. Crispy and meaty. Very impressive. I got my usual beef thai fried rice for my dinner and it was very bland and seasoned with tomatoes instead of peppers. (I guess they ran out?) It wasn't good @ all. The same thing happens randomly with takeout as well. Sometimes it is amazing but other times bland. Very nice atmosphere and waitress was great. Ill go back and roll the dice to try to get savory food... read more

I am only giving this place 2 stars and not 1 because the appetizer and the drinks were good. Cosmo was super strong and reasonable in price. We got the appetizer sampler with vegetable spring rolls, crab spring rolls, and spinach dumplings which were all fresh and delicious. The entree is where the problem came in. The pad Thai was a literal disgrace. It was overly oily and watery and the sauce did not taste right at all. The panang curry was also too watery but the flavors were okay. They give you a tiny scoop of rice that does not satisfy you and it is $2 for more. The sautéed vegetables with shrimp were flavorless and can by purchased next door at the Chinese restaurant for a fraction of the cost. Basically , save your money and do not come here if you are looking for good Thai food read more

We have been eating here for the last 4 months and never been let down. We order from the prix fix menu and it has a great amount of choices that includes full appetizer and full entree and desert. We also order ala cart the duck pad thai is the bomb and the drunken noodles are great too, also have had a shrimp dish with glass noodles and ginger yummy. They have a good beer selection and limited wine and mixed liquor drinks. They seem a little short handed on Sunday nights but that's not a problem no worries no hurries! Service is always friendly and professional and polite cant wait till next Sunday! read more

We called in a pick up order. Help very nice. Food very good but I'm glad I asked and waited for hot sauce because it needed the extra kick.

We took my mom here for Mother's Day (7 of us total) and the service was extremely friendly and efficient. The waitresses all joined forces to make sure we were taken care of. The ambiance is peaceful and serene, as it feels clean and almost zen like between the decor and the music. The food here was exceptional. Pleasing 7 completely different palates with picky parameters is difficult, but everyone really enjoyed their meals! In fact, we all shared bites with one another and all agreed that the food was delicious and most certainly worth multiple returns. You've made customers out of us and we look forward to visiting again! read more

This was my first experience visiting Thai Place. Pros: We had a reservation and were seated promptly, the apps were very tasty (shrimp coconut rolls special and chicken wings), our water glasses were always full. Cons: My main course, the chicken salad (larb), tasted like vomit. I've had it from other restaurants before and understand it's supposed to be an acidic dish, but no joke, it tasted and smelled like puke. I'm usually someone who can eat whatever even if it's not great, but I could not stomach this. It was incredibly off-putting and my entire family thought the same thing. I'm sure their other stuff is great, but I would not recommend the chicken salad to my worst enemy. read more

I revoke my last review. Upon my recent visit back to Thai House, they've included a grilled chicken addition to their salad (for lunch, at least). I also wasn't turned away on my last late-night visit. read more

Had dinner there with my friend this evening, we arrived around 6:45. Had a reservation Restaurant is small but elegantly decorated Parking is across Main Street For appetizers, we had Thai spicy curry puffs, which have potatoes, they were dry. I would not order them again. We also had the chicken meatballs, which were excellent. For entrees we had walnut chicken, which was good and drunken noodles spicy level medium, which was ok, at best. Not enough basil in the dish. For dessert we ordered the butter scotch pecan ice cream with a blondie brownie...but they did not have the butter pecan ice cream...also, we could not taste the butter scotch I would not come here again. read more

This is some of the best Thai food available on Long Island, probably second only to Thai Gourmet or Siam Lotus. Diverse menu with a good selection of authentic dishes and they're happy to adjust the spice level on request. Decor is rather nice with a renovation completed a few months ago. read more

I wasn't overly impressed with the food, but the ambiance was nice. Very simple décor, quiet, small space, but the waitress we had was very nice. Prices are very reasonable! read more

If I were to write this review say 4-5 years ago it would have been 5 stars, hell 10 stars if they would let me rate it that high but alas I cannot. I'm not really sure what has changed in that time frame besides the interior being that Thai House has been a staple in Smithtown for years and the food was always always exemplary. I went in on a weeknight with my wife and our son, it wasn't overly crowded which was awesome. There was a party of 10 or 12 but they were on the lower level and we were on the upper level. No loud noises that would disrupt the flow of our conversation. We ordered the generic Thai staples (beef satay, spring rolls and papaya salad) and they were really up to par, lovely appetizers full of that classic Thai flavor with the right tenderness of the beef, crispiness of the spring roll and savory flavors of green papaya salad. So up to this point my memory served me correct as to the Thai House was premier in the Thai food game. Then our entree's came. The timing was perfect, we had just had our appetizer plates (empty of course!) taken from the table and 2 sips of our Thai iced tea's and they have arrived. My wife ordered the peanut chicken. We have had this dish here and also at other Thai restaurants and it was always the best here, it was her old reliable no matter how many times she got the dish it always came out the same; delicious. This time however it was off, a little bland and very chewy. Usually this dish is packed with creamy flavors of peanut, garlic, etc but today it was like bland hot peanut butter. I thought maybe it was her dish but then I had mine. I ordered the Royal Thai Lobster curry. That was the first thing I saw on the menu and it had my attention wholeheartedly. I didn't even bother looking at anything else. I was excited to try this dish. When our waitress brought it over the little clay pot they had it in was overflowing, the presentation was a bit messy but I didn't really care. I saw it as "more for me to get down on" and was thankful they filled it to the tippy top. When I finally got to consuming this dish I was disappointed. I had prepared myself for a food explosion in my mouth given the ingredients but sadly I was left in my own thoughts as to what the heck did I just order? The lobster meat was just off. It had the strangest consistency. I didn't have the dish to standards of fresh Maine lobster picked right out of the sea I'm not an idiot but I didn't expect to get some foul lobster-esque meat and I use the term meat loosely in said description. The curry sauce was very delicious but I didn't just order any old red curry dish I sprung for the $25 royal treatment but got left as if I were a peasant begging for scraps. I was so confused by the end of the meal. It was like being handed the keys to a Rolls Royce and then getting in and realizing the interior is from a 80's K car. It started out oh so well and ended just as fast as it began which really was a major bummer. I had such fond memories of amazing Thai food dancing in my head from here but now all that has ceased. Maybe I hit them on an off night because of the large group. I dunno, I will have to go back and try again for sure. It really was the spot for Thai for the longest time. I can't really fathom that it has changed so drastically which is the only reason why I am going to give it another shot. Will keep yelpers posted. read more

Extremely bad service...waitress was very rude had to wait 1 hour for service, then was served lukewarm whole fish. And worst of all the waitress just smiled. Would never go there again read more

My Sister brought me here for the first time a few weeks ago, after hearing rave reviews. I was not disappointed. It's a nice, little place in Smithtown with very good service. My appetizer was ok, but my entree was delicious! It was tempura jumbo shrimp over fresh vegetables all covered in the BEST peanut sauce I've ever had with rice on the side-I ate everything!!! I was also happy with my dessert-the fried banana w/ honey, ice cream & a small amount of sesame seeds. I'm normally not a fan of sesame seeds on or in anything, but there was such a small amount and being that it was mixed with ice cream, it didn't bother me. I'm definitely looking forward to going back! :) read more

Great Thai in a cozy atmosphere. Prices are very reasonable and they always post a "word of the day" on the their Facebook page which will get you a free plate! The pork chop was heavenly, love their Pad See Yue as well. The presentation is impeccable. Beer selection is out of this world as well. You don't expect much from the outside, but they really go out of their way here to provide a great, affordable dining experience. read more

Loved the pre-fix special which was a three course meal for $20! I found parking right in front of the restaurant, which was great! The desserts are awesome! It is a really nice, clean and small restaurant. I will def bring some more friends and family here. I loved the ambiance. Though the food is probably a 4/5 for overall quality it gets a 5 read more

My wife and I recently dined at the Thai House and had a wonderful meal. We just moved to the area from Sarasota FL where we had access to a number of great Thai restaurants and we were excited to find a new stand-by. Thai house delivered a very tasty meal in a relaxed setting. We had fried tofu appetizer, house salad w/ cucumber dressing and each got a stir fry (one basil and the other ginger). To top it off we had the decadent fried ice cream for dessert - great raspberry merlot sauce and presentation! The salad was probably the only dish we'd pass on next time... really missing the cucumber salads we used to get in FL. The stir fry dishes were excellent. We'll be back I'm sure and would recommend to others read more

My fiancé and I ate here last Friday. The service was horrible. We waited about 55 minutes for our entrees. We had the pineapple duck curry and Pad Thai. The Curry was tasty but the pad Thai was the worst I ever had. It was watery and bland. We had trouble understanding our waitress who spoke limited English and seemed to get annoyed by us asking her to repeat what we couldn't understand. We definitely will not be returning here. read more

They have one of the best dishes I've ever had so this is the place I stop at every time I'm in the area. The basil duck is amazing...super crispy with a good amount of heat and garlic. The soups are great as well. I'd highly recommend getting a duck dish here! read more

Wonderful restaurant with quality food and friendly service!! My husband and I love to eat here! Kob Khun Ka!

Pretty good, but not the best I've had locally (Thai Angel is my favorite!). I had the Siam Noodles which was pretty good. Features a lot of shredded duck which I quite took to. My wife had some eggplant dish, which if better I'd probably remember the name. All in all not a bad Thai restaurant with a quaint interior, and good service. Good location on Main Street; although parking is limited as a result. read more

I love the Thai House! It really is a hidden gem in Smithtown. Unfortunately I didn't discover it until after I moved to NYC, but I try to eat there when I am back in town to visit the fam. I love that they it is BYOB (and their drink menu is super cheap) and I love their pineapple fried rice. Mmm.... read more

Service, or lack thereof, is a problem here. We waited to order and waited for apps and waited for entrees, and again dessert. Tom Yom soup, promised with shrimp and chicken arrived sans chicken and was barely capable of lighting up a birthday candle. Pineapple curry duck, asked for Thai spicy, also was tempered. A dessert, fried ice cream in a merlot-raspberry-rum sauce, was showy (aflame, haha) and tasty, but the crust turned soggy. On the plus side, interesting craft beer selections and a diverse wine list. read more

Great! Delicious , healthy, Thai food! Service with a smile, everyone pitching in to ensure that you are satisfied. Food had nice presentation, uniform. Everything was from scratch, hand cut and fresh. He had the duck, it was plentiful and not at all greasy! Very flavourful. I had Chicken with spicy fried rice. I wish it was spicer. Lunch comes with salad and soup both very good, very healthy, very happY all around. Thanks! read more

I would give this place 10 stars if I could. All the food is exceptional. It's truly the best of the best. The staff is also very nice. Small quiet restaurant very home like. I always get the pad see-ew with vegetables which is delicious and there vegetable soup is to die for. Great tasting food for all. read more

I've been here 3 times and tried 3 different dishes (pad thai, pad basil, and some curry chicken dish) and each time they were just bland; after reading other people's reviews it seems I am not alone in thinking this either. I don't understand how a dish can be so texturally complex and colorful yet have no savory flavor or spice stand out, but somehow they are able to pull this off. Service was standard and prices are reasonable. Park across the street in the mini-mall...it's easier. read more

one of my favorite spots in my hometown - great food and thai iced tea! the people who work here are wonderful - they clearly have a deep care for their business, culture, and customers :) quality is always consistently on point - some of my favorite dishes here are the peanut chicken with coconut rice, shrimp pineapple fried rice, vegetable spring rolls, pad thai, and lemongrass soup. absolutely highly recommend supporting this restaurant, especially during these trying times - order some takeout tonight! :) read more

Came here for dinner last night and we were greeted by their friendly staff, tasteful decor, and a full house. Our dinner lasted longer than it would've at another restaurant and I think this is primarily due to their floor being understaffed - another one or two waiter/waitress on the floor would've picked up the slack. We ordered Chicken Satay (It tasted good enough but I've had better.), Pad Thai with shrimp (When I eat at a Thai restaurant for the first time, I conduct a pad thai test. Pad thai is a common dish so if it isn't prepared right, the rest of the restaurant's menu is more than likely a waste of calorie intake. My test has never failed me and Thai House passed with a B+. I haven't discovered an abundance of good Thai restaurant in these parts so Thai House's respectable B+ will keep me returning.), and Thai House Cashew Chicken (This dish was tasty although it didn't have much cashews in it. Also, I felt like it tasted "Americanized" but maybe this can be solved if it was spicier. I'll have to try next time.). For drinks, we drank a pomegranate martini (I've tasted better elsewhere; and they don't pour anywhere near the brim but each was priced at $6.50 so I can't really complain on their pour level.) and Thai Coconut Pearl Tea (Even though I really ordered a Thai Coconut Bubble Tea, this tasted fine enough to stick with it. Although I did wish it was colder.). Their main dish prices range between $11 and $25, and they also offer a $19.95 prix fixe. Two random tid bits: 1) the average patron age decreased after 8:30 and it was interesting to see the room "get" younger; 2) the room can get very loud with chatter. I would come back to Thai House and I'll make sure to ask for my dishes to be a little bit spicier than their default spice level. read more

I've been to a lot of Thai restaurants in my time, and I must say that this place is absolutely amazing. All of their food is fresh and delicious. A few favorites of mine have been the pad see yew, pad Thai, and drunken noodle (I like noodle dishes haha). But the absolute best thing on that menu is the glass noodle soup. When I say it's to die for, I mean it! That soup is like heaven on your tongue, its perfectly seasoned and equally light. So yes, I highly recommend Thai house to everyone! Best Thai in Smithtown! read more

My husband and I have been eating at Thai House for about 10 years! It is(was) one of our favorite restaurants. The food is consistently delicious and the service good. We brought friends here tonight. It was their first time eating here and our experience was awful! The waiter did not listen to us at all.First the waiter brought us Walnut Chicken when we asked for Cashew Chicken. Our Friend had to change his dish when it was not described correctly by the waiter and he would not give him what he wanted for his replacement dish and then he said he was going to bring tofu when he had asked for chicken. A few other incompetent things happened but I will end here. It was the worst dining experience I have had in a while. One positive is that the food was still delicious when he finally got our orders right. read more

I will start the review with this; unfortunately for Thai House, I've had a lot of Thai food. This is not nearly the worst, although it is also not nearly the best. Which is an absolute shame because the effort seems to be there; clean restaurant suitable for fine dining, energetic (if rushed) service, very elegant food presentation, and enough of a diverse menu that you're not stuck eating yellow / red / green / massaman / pad thai in rotation. But unfortunately, the flavor simply did not really materialize. My spicy noodle, a favorite from a number of Queens Thai take-outs, was oily and not spicey, at all. My wife's Massaman was peanuty... as in peanut buttery... and not much else. The Thai Wonton soup was hot (temperature) more than hot (spice). Final verdict: If you're not a heat-o-phile or haven't dabbled much in Southeast Asian food, Thai House is a great place to check out. But for more authentic flavors, head west to Queens. read more
