I have been coming here for years for take-out. Last night was the first time I dined in. Everything was great, prompt service, nice atmosphere, friendly staff and best of all the food! I ordered Thai Iced tea, the house salad with peanut dressing and chicken Massaman curry.. I have been to many Thai restaurants and this is at the top of my list! read more

My first time at Thai House in Smithtown. I had eaten at Thai Angel in Islandia, and find them to be better even with hit or miss dine-in service. Well, as for my review, even though I ordered the food to go, I was thoroughly unimpressed. First, the portion sizes SUCKED. Second, they screwed up my order, removing shrimp from a salad and still charging me full price for it to boot. Not good. Vegetable Dumplings packaged poorly, as the sauce leaked out all over them, drowning them in a salty mess. I have never experienced heartburn with Thai food before, but right now I am eating Tums like candy. When I spend $37 for two people for TAKE-OUT, I expect decent portions and at least some semblance of attention to detail when you prepare an order. Not a good first impression at all. I shan't be returning. read more

I don't understand how anybody is giving this place less than 5 stars. I've eaten almost everything on the menu, and it's been phenomenal every time. It is a bit small inside, so if you're coming in with a large group, you might not have a comfortable time. The food is great. It's basically ruined Thai food for me, because I try to compare every other Thai dish I get against Thai House, and everywhere else always falls short. My personal favorite is the Drunken Noodles with Duck. They cook the duck to perfection. The serving sizes are huge, but I've never been able to save anything to bring home. They also take their spice levels seriously. Don't ask for 'Thai Hot' if you can't handle your spicy foods. I tried it thinking 'most places exaggerate the spiciness of their foods'. That was probably the only time I didn't finish my meal. read more

Authentic Thai food. Real food, real delicious, beautiful presentation. Very attentive service. A lot of food for the price. I've been here many times. Go during the week for an early dinner. (4-5pm) Everything made in house, including all the beautiful, delicious desserts. Love - plum wine, saki, thai tea. Love - "sticky" rice. (I was too full to finish, the leftovers the next day were reheated beautifully.) Love -spinach dumpling appetizers Love - walnut chicken One star off because you can't taste the ginger in the ginger dishes. The fried rice is a little greasy. read more

The salad wraps was great, the drunken noodles was ok, there was barely any chicken in my dish. I don't like paying ten dollars for just noodles and sauce. The beers are only $4, which is quite a bargain. I would come here again once I get the coupon again, but I feel that there are better thai places out there. read more

With so many Thai places popping up on Long Island you would expect them to really pop to stay in your mind. This one lacks a certain something that could make it a main stay in Smithtown. The opportunity is there being right on main street in the heart of smithtown but the food just doesn't match the service and experience you get when you walk thru the door. The space is decorated in a traditional theme that does make you feel like you're in an authentic place and welcomes you in with the warm smile of your waitress. Unfortunately that's when everything takes a turn for the worse. The menu is fairly extensive but very early on you can see that your not going to have a memorable meal. There is barely any taste to anything I have eaten here and that includes there varied spices for toppings. First we started with the Thai House Crab Rolls and the Thai Dumplings. We received the Spring rolls and not the crab rolls which was a turn off but we didn't complain because we knew the entrees would be out before they could fix it. Neither app had any distinctive flavor and was extremely bland. Only saving grace was the plum sauce which I asked for more when our entrees came out. The entree sizes were pretty big and a definite value for their price. That ends up not being the case because again nothing had any flavor except after dumping hot sauce on it to get anything out of the meal. I would try this place again when I'm in the area to maybe hope it was an off night but this place definitely doesn't hold a candle to some of the other Thai places nearby. read more

Food and service is great. I got a combination of appetizers with an assortment of different dipping sauces. The crispy tofu is awesome. The wait time varies on the day and time. I recommend getting a reservation prior to visiting this restaurant. If you happen to wait, you can get a drink at their small bar. Few cons about this place, so I gave it 3 stars. I surprisingly found hair in my lettuce wraps. I wasn't too upset since the server handled the situation nicely and took the charge from the bill and suggested other apps/entrees. Unfortunately, I was so disgusted I couldn't order anything else. 2nd con, the restaurant charged me incorrectly, but this was adjusted quickly by the staff. All the issues were handled accordingly, so kudos to the staff. I probably will return to this restaurant at some point, I may have had an unlucky night because the place was very crowded (it's expected on a Friday night). read more

Thai House - Thai Near Me - Smithtown, New York

Delicious food, service was great. Gets loud during dinner service, but if you go for lunch, you will find yourself in a peaceful retreat. The caddy of spices brought to me put this rating over the top. The curry is so, so good! read more

A great, kind of hidden, gem in Smithtown. I've dined here 4 or 5 times and have never had a bad meal. I'm not an expert on Thai food but I would say that the menu is not truly authentic Thai...sort of with a modern, creative flair. The duck dishes are fabulous and I have a very hard time not ordering the same one every time I go. Great beer list too, which is unusual. They have coupon for 20% off pretty much every month in Clipper Magazine and their prixe fixed mid week deal is excellent too. read more

The night I went, their computers were on the fritz and was told they double booked reservations. We stood at the door waiting at least a good 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. I understand the staff was freaking out but this experience wasnt off to a good start. When it came to the food, they totally redeemed themselves. Drink menu was super cheap and my French martini was surprisingly good. We ordered the mussels for an appetizer and that is where my only food-related complaint comes in. The dish didnt come with more than a handfull of mussels and the broth wasnt anything special. I wouldnt order it in the future. As for my meal, I had tofu with mixed vegetables in a ginger sauce. It was mind blowing good! read more

If you want really good and fresh Thai food come here. This place not only had great food but great service too! I got the Thai salad, spring rolls, pad Thai and hot shrimp soup that I forgot the name, all of which was great. I can't wait to go back! read more

Huge disappointment! Went with a friend - we had an appetizer, entree, dessert & a drink. Left most of my entree over and had them box up the leftovers. When I opened the carton later at home, to my astonishment my entree was not in the box - it was someone else's leftover white rice! I called the restaurant and was informed to come back and they would "take care of us". When we recently returned all they did was credit our bill for part of my entree! In addition, the rice was very mushy (also heard other patrons complaining about the same issue) and there was very little pineapple or chicken in our entrees. Don't recommend this place! read more

Pretty good place to have lunch. I'm a student of Stony Brook University that doesn't drive so it's a major plus that it's walk able distance from the train station. The decor is so cozy and clean, dark atmosphere. The Waitress that served us was super sweet and nice. She let us chose our table, and kept refilling our waters. I got the Chicken Pad Thai, my boyfriend got the Pad See ew, the lunch comes with the entree, choice of spring roll or soup, and side salad with choice of cucumber dressing or peanut. We both chose the Spring Roll and Peanut Dressing. The Salad was so yummy, the dressing wasn't too overpowering, it was the perfect light sweet taste. The Spring roll was freshly fried and crispy, it was kind of too small in my opinion, but it's okay because more tummy room for the entree. The pad thai i requested to be medium spicy and it came out perfect, chicken was juicy and wasn't dry at all, full of flavor. My boyfriend loved his pad see ew as well Overall, I recommend this place, I would definitely return again , for 9 dollar lunch special it's totally worth it! read more

Tiny little cozy place, slow service as they are always overwhelmed with eaters. Good food. Make sure to have reservation. read more

Thai House is our Go-To! We have had many years of amazing meals here. Tonight we ordered our standard takeout selections (with Yellow Curry which I have not tried before). They outdid themselves. After the challenges of COVID, Thai House is as amazing as ever. The staff is always very kind and the food is always amazing. Tonight, the food was OUTSTANDING. Our very selective 6 year old had thirds of everything. read more

This place is very close to where I work and after finding that the Korean place near by had closed I opted to try this place for lunch. I ordered the Basil Chicken lunch special to go. Feedback: The presentation was piss-poor. The liquid it was prepared in was dominating the packaging and leaking it. It was easily as liquid heavy as a soup, but served in an entree container. The flavor of the basil and sauce was nice, but the chicken was pathetically rough textured and flavorless. It tasted old and previously frozen. I received a spring roll with my lunch as well and it was just ok. Overall, there is much better thai food a bit further away that I'll be choosing instead of this place. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't good enough to warrant another visit. read more

In the past few years there have been a fair number of Thai restaurants that have cropped up on the north shore of Western Suffolk. I've tried most of them. Time and time again I find myself coming back to Thai House. They have great food, fair prices, and friendly staff. It isn't the largest of restaurants so I definitely recommend a reservation for most evenings. I've had about 75% of the menu now and haven't found anything that I disliked. I'm particularly fond of the Pad See Ew (they serve it with Chinese Broccoli), the Pad Thai, and the Massaman Curry. They have a prix fix menu and coupons are available regularly from the Pennysaver/Clipper type publications or online. read more

I came here on a Wednesday night with my mom. I wanted to take her here so she could try Thai food for the 1st time. I thought the long wait would be some sort of indication that the place would be good but long story short.... The Good: -They have bubbletea and it was delicious!!! -my mom's nut crusted chicken was decent. - the staff was nice and attentive The Bad: -pricey menu -huge line when I walked in, even for a random Wednesday night, so make a reservation beforehand if you want to go here, or else you'll be standing in the extremely small bar area, waiting for a seat. -the restaurant was extremely small, I was surprised -I ordered the Pad Thai (i've had it numerous times before at other Thai places, so I thought it would be a no-fail) and it tasted terrible, like fennel, sausage and some sort of weird meat. It wasn't at all what I expected. -I ate maybe a few fork fulls of my pad thai until I found a LONG BLACK CURLY HAIR underneath my noodles. DISGUSTING!!!!!! Mind you, I have very light blonde hair, so I know it wasn't mine. They waitress took the meal off our check so that was nice but I won't be returning, and it's a shame. Such a disappointment. read more

Went here based on Newsday article. Wished that I didn't. We started out with the Tom Yum soup and the Duck Salad. Tom Yum was passable, not favorable and lacking spices. The duck in the salad was a little dry. Went for a safe bet with Pad Thai. Order Massaman Curry based on server's recommendation. This was the worst Pad Thai I have ever had. It was soupy and off-smelling as soon as it was served. Never had Pad Thai that was served with brown looking gravy. It tasted just as it smelled. Massaman curry was as bland as melba toast. Service was nice. Restaurant a little tight. Chef even came out to say hello. It didn't make up for the poor food. Don't expect authentic Thai here, or even good Americanized Thai. read more

I have been here a few times once in a small group and another time in a large group service was fine both times. For appetizers we get the wings. These little wings are so amazing!! Slightly spicy (not too spicy just enough) and crisp to perfection! I try different entrees everytime i go the last dish i tried was the curry chicken which was great! The coconut rice is delicious with peanut chicken! Go on their Facebook for specials before you go they always post up specials there read more

I ate at Thai House last night for the first time after a few unsuccessful attempts. You have to make a reservation or you're not eating from what I understand. The service was ok, nothing to write home about. They had some good beer specials though which was impressive since it was in fact quality beers. As for the atmosphere, it's nice and cozy due to the small space although my one gripe was the incredibly uncomfortable seating. Whatever. The food. The food was decent. We had Thai chicken lettuce wraps for an app which were pretty good. Entree, I had pad Thai with shrimp. I'm not gonna lie, I've had better. But it was fresh tasting that's for sure. My girlfriend had pad baby corn with chicken. She said it was very tasty and an overall good dish. I would eat here again, it deserves another shot. Perhaps I'll try a dish I've never had before. read more

We enjoyed the Friday night dinner with two friends who had been here before. Attractively decorated and furnished without opulence. The wait staff were young, attractive, well-informed and unobtrusive. My dining partner and I both decided on three appetizers instead of entrees, and I had spring rolls, shrimp in a blanket, and beef satay. All three tasty and well prepared. Since we had heard the wine list was less than stellar, we elected to bring our own Spanish merlot. The corkage fee ($8.50) was a bit excessive. But overall, a nice addition to the Smithtown restaurant scene, and we'll be back. Food a good value. http://www.thaihousesmithtown.com/menu.php read more

The food was great! I ordered the drunken noodle w/ chicken meal! Those flat garlic sauce smothered slippery noodles were very satisfying to the tastebuds! Chicken was also very well cooked, tender and tasty! My sister who is a vegetarian, ordered one of the light yellow colored curry with tofu, that was also delicious, although it was detailed as spicy( but was very sweet). Customer service was great and the overall environment and experience was nice! Thank you Thai house! Have a good day! read more

Thai House - The drunken noodles and some curry my sis ordered! - Thai Near Me - Smithtown, New York

Thai house is so good! They have a great menu, take out is fast, and I love their iced Thai tea.

Thai House has the best Thai food around. We ordered from them last night, having been so busy with Christmas. The food was wonderful and hot ( temperature) as always. There were 8 of us and each and every one of us found something we loved and were very pleased with the taste. I would recommended Thai House to anyone because the food is generally mild, you can ask them to make it Thai spicy. I just wish they delivered read more

The drunken noodles were pretty good. My only complaint is that the portion was very small since it was a lunch special. I've gone to other Thai restaurants that do not skimp on the portion size for lunch. The spring roll was good as well. read more

I've just left this restaurant after being refused a table. Even though the restaurant was empty but for two tables, and it being 45 minutes before they had reservations. It's such a shame because the food is very good, but they've lost my business for good. Their lack of customer service is appalling. 9/29/18. I decided to give the place another chance. Boy am I sorry. The bar area was chaotic when I got there, but that happens. We sat after a while and was served by a pleasant, young, but completely untrained waiter. I had to show him how to open a bottle of wine. We waited a while for that to even arrive at the table, but then we waited, and waited, and asked where our appetizer was. The young guy confessed that he never put the order in. So we cut them some slack. The appetizer came out a while later. Ice cold. We cancelled everything and left. This place is horribly disorganized. The food is very good, but the lack of management makes the experience awful. read more

Food was nothing special. Not the authentic Thai food I was expecting. Service was good. My food came out Cold

Thai House has a limited menu for Thai Cuisine but what they do offer is good. The spice level is geared to those who really don't like true Thai spice which is unfortunate but they do have a very good selection (3) of different Chile sauces ranging from hot to really hot. You have to ask for these for the table. The wait staff tries very hard to provide a good experience but the timing of being seated, food ordering, delivery, drinks etc is always just a bit off. Regarding parking, your best bet in on the adjacent side streets. read more
