Ok I'm just going to say it. This has to be the best Thai food in Suffolk County. It took a while to sell me, but when I go to visit my sisters this is where we usually order from because Thai is kind of our thing. Our most recent order was once again then Panang Curry, which gets better each time we order it, and the pineapple fried rice. I also requested we get their rangoons to snack on and we were not disappointed. My sister says their food reminds her of when she spent time in Thailand. I don't think they do dine in service anymore since COVID but their takeout is usually very timely. Love that this place this out here and I hope they thrive for a long time. read more

Date night and my boyfriend and I ordered take out from here. I cannot speak of service due to ordering via DoorDash. For an appetizer we ordered the chicken curry puff. It was very yummy and came with a refreshing cucumber sauce. It paired perfectly together. For my meal I ordered pad see ew with chicken. I asked for it to be made medium spicy. There was a little bit of heat, but I would have liked more...it was a bit sweet for my liking..but I did still enjoy. My boyfriend had pad Thai with chicken and beef. He really enjoyed it. I've been getting food here for a while but this time was just so yammy I had to share. Pretty reliable, love the pad see, but her curries are on point. The green curry runs out of often, but it's incredible. Papaya salad on point, not dry like a lot of places. Tons of flavor. I usually get either green curry or masaman, and the papaya salad and mango salad are in season for summer so daaaaaaaaaamn! I never leave reviews like this. Ever. Today I will. The food is amazing. Okay. The way the business is run is unacceptable. The hours of operation show two different times on line so we called to ask if they would be open at 3:30. We were told yes. We wanted to make sure because we are driving a fair distance. They assured us they would be open. We get there and no one answers the door or our calls even though we know people are in there. No one comes to the door to tell us that they've closed or why. When we call later to tell them about this in a kind way, there's no apology offered or explanation given. Instead, the owner is rude, tells us that sometimes he has to close early to go get some thing or do something and that's just the way it is. After a long sojourn, we visited Rice Thai ... located north of 27 on rte 112, it is situated adjacent to 112 and cant be seen from the road...Its a small venue with a few tables but appears to be mostly takeout. Service was good but the food was not noteworthy... Chicken Skewers were tough as was the chicken in the Red Curry. The Basil Beef was tender but not much of it and loaded with red and green peppers with lotsa onion. Thai Iced Tea was delish! Overall, They have very basic Thai selection and if we're in need of a Thai fix this would not be our first choice. read more

Dude! I've raved about the best massaman curry from this spot and I could never remember the name until I randomly ordered here and as I'm pulling in I'm like OMG this is the spot with the best food! So I had to write a review. This is by far the BEST massaman curry I have ever had and my fav food is Thai food so I get to try dozens of places recipes. The spicy wings made me physically sick but that's my fault my stomach can't hand the fried breading thing. They also have the BEST Thai tea. My belly is so full still and it's been hours! This was absolutely not worth the $60 we dropped. The curry was so not good. From the taste, to the portion, and the ingredients. I don't know what kind of massaman curry has giant potato wedges in it, and regular potatoes at that- normally it's sweet potatoes. The curry itself was a sweeter type of curry. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't really that great either. We had gotten the tofu and there was maybe four or five big chunks of tofu in the whole thing. It was really disappointing and a lot of onions. I like onions, but not as a main vegetable in the dish. Pad Thai was just OK. I would not say it was good. It was just plain alright-serviceable and satisfied the craving, but it certainly was not that good. The basil chicken was decent a little bit salty, but not too bad. The drunken noodles were the best out of all of the dishes. The noodles were stuck together and it was certainly a little greasy, but it was overall relatively tasty and I did like it. When I was a kid growing up in Patchogue, there was a pizza shop I frequented and across the street was a parking lot... nothing special remains with me about this parking lot; there was a butcher down the road that worked pure magic, an Enteman's bake shop that did the same in my childhood brain but this specific lot really didn't hold any significance. Really the only place I remember was a Chinese spot in there that I rarely frequented and the amazing Indian place I only discovered well into my adult life. Maybe the resurgence of Patchogue helped us get Rice Thai or maybe it's a pure strike of luck (for me) but this little, raggedy ol' parking lot has slowly creeped into a secret goldmine of flavor. If you've stuck with me, are still reading, and have read my past reviews, you'll know that Curry Kebob is a local love of mine and now, skipping the drum roll and standing ovation, in comes Rice Thai to Rival the rich flavors next door. Two rich and flavorful cuisines right next door to eachother! I'm in trouble. Basically, I'm saying you should check it out. The massaman curry broth is velvet for the tastebuds, the Siam Roti is to die for, and the Pad Prig Khing is full of freshness and flavor. After seeing a new Thai place come into the area I was definitely excited since before this I had to go to smithtown to get decent Thai food. This place definitely hit the spot. I went with the lunch special (M-F 11:30-3:30 $7.95) and got Pad Thai with shrimp. This also came with either a soup or salad & small spring roll. Pad Thai W/ Shrimp: 4/5, the first few bites were not impressive and I was let down but after mixing it up more a lot of the sauce and flavor was at the bottom so that made a big difference. Next time I will request it be spicy as the regular was a bit bland. Also, for the extra $1 to add shrimp they give a very nice portion of them. Soup: 2.5/5, I can really only rate the actual broth which just tasted like wonton soup I didn't eat any of the cabbage/lettuce in it, just seemed odd to eat soggy warm greens. I'll try the salad next time instead. Spring Roll: 2.5/5, your standard Thai spring roll, lightly fried outside just bland without any sauce. Overall I am excited this place is here and look forward to trying more dishes, the lunch special is a great deal for the amount of food you get. Based off one experience, it gets 5 stars! The food was really tasty (amazing pad thai) and very affordable for lunch. The salad did not have the typical peanut dressing but a lemon dressing that was pretty good but unexpected. It is really tiny and you have to walk through the kitchen to get to the bathroom but its all worth it for the food! My husband also really enjoys their Thai iced tea! The second time trying this place out. Last time me and my husband ordered different curry dishes. First, they tasted nothing but super sweet. The curry soup was not thick at all. Second, the vegetable in that vegetable curry was very little. Almost the same as it was with protein as my husband ordered it with chicken. From my previous experience with thai curry, I am sure these curry are not authentic at all. Not even the choice of vegetables in that soup is consistent with other thai curry had before. This time, we wanted to give it another try somehow. We had their lunch deal, which I had been looking forward to for months. However, it came out even worse. The soup was basically plain water, with a few pieces of cabbages floating . The spring was the best part comparatively. I've never had Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles before. But the flavor of both dishes were pretty bad, which I believe authentic ones wouldn't be like this. We both couldn't finish our meal. Again, the food was very sweet. Pad thai was full of grease. Indulged in a wonderfully delicious lunch special from Rice Thai recently and I'm still snacking my lips when I think of how tasty everything was! I ordered a Spicy Thai Basil meal which comes with rice, a veggie soup, and a spring roll. All were seasoned nicely, portioned perfectly, and truly complimented each other. The Spicy Basil with chicken had a nice kick to it which I appreciate because some restaurant claim an item is spicy and then I laugh because it's not. This had a nice flare! I chose to be a little greedy (aka spoil myself) and get a Thai Iced Tea on the side to wash it all down. It was SO good! Not too sweet, not too milky! The onlyyyy reason I couldn't give the restaurant 5 stars is because their hours are so wacky that it's hard to get in touch with someone and when we did get ahold of someone, the interaction wasn't as pleasant. This is my 3rd time ordering from Rice Thai. I like their hors d'oeuvres. The only dish that I haven't tried twice is the coconut shrimp, I wasn't really impressed with it, it was OK. But, I may give it another go. I love the chicken satay, it's delicious along with the peanut sauce. I love their crab Rangoons, they're very good. The first time that I ordered them they tasted a little bit fishy, but the last couple of times they were very delicious. And last but not least I love the chicken wontons, the wontons are fresh & delicious, & the sauce is divine with a little kick to it. When I picked up my food they were following Covid-19 protocol for this small location, so you can wait inside for a moment but there is no dining in. I'm happy about that. Obviously I enjoy this place and I have a hard time trying new dishes, but in my opinion I would definitely recommend Rice Thai. read more

Since I've moved here I haven't found a good Thai restaurant. I'm being dramatic because I've only ever been to two. I just gave up. I drove by, and have been eyeing this place up. I had a craving for noodles one night and finally decided to check it out. So since I went during the pandemic, there was no indoor seating. I went in and asked for a menu, and ordered some Pad Thai without peanuts and spring rolls. I waited about 25 minutes, but I guess since I went around dinner time - that was my mistake. You can either wait indoors, standing up or outside. I got my food and left. Let me tell you, this is one of the best I've tried. And believe me when I say, even though this dish is popular - YOU CAN MESS IT UP. They have made me smile ear-to-ear. Noodles were perfect, the SIZE of the dish I got was perfect, the price was perfect, the spring roll was perfect. Do I need to say that word again to you? This place is perfect. this is the best thai food i've ever had! red curry with chicken: 10/10 so yummy and the chicken was so soft and tender. i would say that the portion of curry could be a little larger because i had a lot of rice left over. or at least more broth. but also it could just be because i loved it so much. pad see ew noodles: 10/10 so good! a great depth of flavor. usually i don't prefer pad see ew bc it's kinda sweet but here, it's actually flavorful and savory not just sweet. thai iced tea: yummy! 9/10 it was a little too sweet. a little too much condensed milk for my taste. but it was really good. especially on a hot day. tastes like a creamy ice cream. i just don't like things too sweet in general so next time i would just ask them for more tea and less milk. if you love thai food definitely stop by here. the food is so good! it seems easily overlooked as it is small and humble. but the food here is better than every thai spot i've been to and i've been to many!! read more

A cute little thai restaurant. The food was decent. We ordered chicken satay. The dipping sauce was good. One was sweet and the other one was tangy. We got two noodle dishes. The padseeew was a tad too salty for my liking and the noodle soup dish (i think it was called khao soi) was spicy but i wasnt crazy about the taste of the soup. I ordered mango with sticky rice. I was so excited to see a new Thai place open in Patchogue since the ones I've tried weren't that great. This place is amazing! Clean, friendly and the food is excellent. The Thai iced tea was so yummy. Couldn't finish it so took it to go. I got the Pad See Ew which came with Chinese broccoli. Next time I will ask if they can make it with American broccoli. The place is tiny and not much going on decor wise and not even totally sure if there is a bathroom or where it could possibly be but I don't even care the food is so good! 4 stars for food, 2 stars for service. Recently tried here for lunch. A decent selection of entrees. Small establishment in a plaza, seats 16 people. Bathroom is in the way back, so diners need to walk through the kitchen (thankfully kitchen was clean!). We had many questions about the menu, but sadly the language barrier was so bad that many of our questions were unanswered. The server (a young girl, maybe 20 years of age) should have sent someone else to answer our questions. For instance, I wanted to order the Pad See Ew but for some reason (couldn't understand her explanation) there was an issue with the rice noodles. She could not give an clear explanation of what type of soup or salad dressing came with the lunch specials. I had questions about their tea offerings, but decided to pass on ordering a drink because I could not understand what she was saying. This leads me to the lunch specials. Again there was a good selection of entrees, which came in a nice small lunch portion. When asked if we could upgrade to brown rice, it would have been $2.50 more on an $8 lunch! It only comes with one soup selection, which was described as a Spanish vegetable soup (At a Thai place? Again, have a server who can comfortably explain what is on the menu). The salad came with some sort of "regular" dressing (as described by the server) which may have included some sort of plum sauce, but I was hoping for a more authentic peanut or ginger dressing as is often offered with a Thai restaurant salad. I'm sure that would have been an up-charge as well. The red curry chicken and the accompanying spring roll were both delicious! I also ordered a Tom Kha soup, whose broth was very flavorful and a little bit spicy. I had to order it twice, as apparently it was not added to the original order. The food was very good and in nice portions. If we had a different server, I think our experience would have been much different (better). We would have had a better idea of our options on the menu and would have been better-informed when making our selections. We will likely not be back, as it was far too much effort to navigate the menu and get information from the person who was supposed to help make this a great dining experience. read more

I really like this place! Found it on yelp and noticed it's a "hot new" restaurant so why not try it out. I haven't been a fan of the other places close by. Can't be worse, right? Glad I went because so far I liked everything I ordered. Had the beef pad see ew, chicken massaman curry and the appetizer roti. The noodles were delicious and I was afraid the roti would be too thick but it was light and fluffy. Perfect to sop up the sauce. The curry had good flavor too. I feel the color is a little too red though but the taste was good. Lastly, the Thai iced tea wasn't too sweet like some of the other places I've gotten it at. I think the only thing I gripe I have is that they don't offer duck dishes and when I asked for pork in my curry they didn't have. So I ordered chicken. I love Rice Thai. I drive all the way from Ronkonkoma to get food from this restaurant. I especially love the Spicy Basil with Shrimp and the Spicy Fried Rice. As with all Thai restaurants I always ask for a Thai iced tea but yesterday I asked for the Thai iced tea while I was waiting for my food to finish up in the kitchen. I told the server that the milk in the Thai iced tea tasted spoiled (we all know that spoiled milk taste) and he proceeded to charge me still which is fine but no replacement Thai iced tea, no apologies, and told me he'd tell "them" in the back. So I left the Thai iced tea on the counter next to the cash register without making a scene . I'd like to hear from the actual owners about this and this guy. I came in on 3/13/20 and ordered the above. I'm not going to fret over $3-$4 but the attentiveness to what your customer was telling you was met with an attitude of "the customer is wrong" and that is something I cannot tolerate. My hubs and I absolutely love everything Thai. This place is just on point. We usually get the spicy basil chicken, sometimes I get it with tofu instead of chicken (pad gra prao). Food is amazing.
