Wow! What a neighborhood gem! We were looking for a place to have lunch so I checked Yelp for a recommendation and found some great reviews about Tonnam Thai in Bohemia. Quite honestly it's a small restaurant in a strip mall that I would compare to a takeout Chinese restaurant, however they have about six tables and a wonderful waitress named Masi who provided great service with a smile. We ordered Shrimp Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles with Shrimp and both dishes were well seasoned and cooked perfectly. I typically don't eat spicy food so I asked for mild seasoning on drunken noodles and they were a bit spicy for me but absolutely delicious. I tasted my sister's pad thai and could not believe how good it was. The next time we go, I will definitely be ordering that pad thai. If you're thinking about going out for Thai food and you're in the area, definitely give this place a try. You can tell by the reviews that they have great food; the prices are super affordable and they even offer a great weekday lunch special for $13-$16 for a variety of dishes, a spring roll and a soda. Awesome take out this past Saturday. Easy online ordering and everything was ready to go upon arrival. Super sweet woman taking care of the dining guests greeted me and had me out the door super quick. Very appreciative of my business. We had two apps (Crab Wonton/Rangoon and Spring Rolls). Both very good. For entrees we had a Pad Thai, Panang Curry and Kua Gai. We all enjoyed the different dishes and had some leftovers for my Mom to enjoy after we departed. $83 and change with tip. Not unreasonable. Nice portions. The dining room is quite small but super cute. I'll be back. read more

It was time for Friday night dinner. Didn't want the usual and wanted something we haven't had in a while. My boyfriend and I decided on Thai! We are very happy with our decision! We ordered off UberEats, so I cannot comment on the service. For an appetizer we went with steamed chicken and shrimp dumplings. They had a delicious flavor and the dipping sauce complemented them well. Our only complaint on this was that there were 5 dumplings and not 6. But we still shared evenly, haha! For my entree I had chicken pad Thai medium spice. It was delicious. Let it be known that the "medium" here is much hotter than a "medium" elsewhere. It wasn't unbearable, but just beware if you can't handle spicy/spice that well. I throughly enjoyed it. Generous portion also. My boyfriend had drunken noodles with beef mildly spicy. He said he really enjoyed it and it was like a "sweet spicy." I had a bite of his and it was yummy. Spice level was indeed mild compared to my entree, but it was still present. His portion was also generous. He agreed they deserve 5 stars! He said he'd definitely order from again, or go to dine-in! read more

I always look forward to Tonnam Thai. Chef V has a great hand! If you want to have delicious thai foods, this is the place to come. Traditional recipes are not easy to find. This is a small restaurant with only 6 tables, concentrates more on delicious to go orders. Majority of Thai restaurants here are all the same .... fusion with bland flavors, another words, not so Thai. Tonnam Thai is definitely an authentic Thai restaurant. Highly recommended! read more

I ordered the Drunken noodles, spicy basil fried rice and pork and vegetable egg rolls. Everything was delicious. My favorite was the egg rolls. Careful when you ask them to make it spicy. The fried rice was very spicy but fragrant and flavorful. Quick service. Good place and good price as well. Try this place if you are craving for some authentic Thai food. read more

Ordered some take out from here after hearing rave reviews. Honestly it was quite disappointing. The pad see ew was so salty. The Chinese broccoli tasted burnt but the noodles and chicken was way too salty. The chive cakes were way too oily. I have definitely had better. The curry puff and taro puff was good. Ive never had the taro puff and it was not overly sweet which was good. The mango sticky rice was very standard. Not the best ive ever had but decent. read more

Saw this place written up in Newsday and it did not disappoint. Inside is super small if you want to dine in but we were ok with it. I got taro bubble tea, drunken noodles and the bread pudding for dessert. Husband got basil fried rice. We shared curry puffs (the dough is amazing) and a side of roti (buttery and delicious ). This was our first time ordering take out here after our beloved Thai restaurant in Blue Point closed. I was looking forward to it. The eggs in the pad thai were burnt (brown). It gave a charred taste to the food, so I avoided eating that part. Hardly any scallions. The taste otherwise was fine and the shrimp large. The Thai iced tea was too sweet and milky for me and there was a lot of ice. Extremely disappointing. I will not return. Next to try the Thai in Ronkonkoma. read more

Did a Uber Eats. It was one of those orders that make you want to leave a review when you're not one of those "review people", and this review is not for good reason. - The green curry had a handful pieces of chicken. Asian style chicken, always thinly sliced so a handful pieces equates to absolutely nothing. Basically $20 for green curry water. Needed a thicker consistency as well. Heat on point. - Ordered the broccoli plus extra veggie. Rubber, possibly from the over steaming with lid on? Drenched in their sauce, tasted more sodium than vegetable. Overall, decently priced but won't be ordering Thai from here. Plenty of better Thai options on the Island. Happy eating to all. read more

This is a good spot but we had a very disappointing experience tonight. Ordered the Thai pho noodle soup. Have ordered before. It was previously delicious. Amazing. The website lists the same ingredients. Ordered it again. Brought it home. No cilantro. No scallions. Nothing green at all. Called. "We changed the menu but did not update the website. After reading Newsday reviews and listening to my neighbor, decided to go back. Glad we did. This time we chose food that was more distinctive, and the flavors were great. Chive cake appetizer was tasty. My boat soup was tangy and left a lingering good taste. My wife had a delicious duck dish. Finishing it with mango sticky rice more than satisfied us. read more

VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!!! First time to order from this restaurant and based on some reviews I finally tried it today . I ordered take out. Pad Thai was sloppy looking like it was a left over and very salty. Ginger Soulmate was also salty and the portion was so little for the price and even paid extra $2.00 for extra chicken and still looks like 8 -10 small pieces of chicken. for the price i paid $40 is not worth it! I tried to call and place a pick up order at 9:05 and the lady said "the cook is going home" I said the website says open until 9:30 and she said you could sit until 9:30. So if the cook left and I sat at 9:10 who would cook the food? Makes no sense. Change the site to say you close at 9:00 then. read more

I have ordered the duck kaprow, drunken noodles, pho and some other items and they're all exactly what I was hoping for. This is a small place with very limited seating but still quite a nice indoor atmosphere, even if you're just going for takeout. Their prices aren't the cheapest but you're getting a great meal so it's an easy 5 stars. I will be coming back again and again. read more

Food is pricey and portions are very small. Ordered vegetable basil fried rice. At $16 I was expecting a larger portion. Decided to order once more. Again, very small portions. Asked my food to be made "not too spicy." Should have said no spice at all. It was almost unbearable. My husband said he didn't taste any chicken in the curry puffs. At $9.50 for an order of 3 puffs one would think the chicken would be noticeable, but not the case. Didn't want to give a 2 star review, 2 1/2 stars would be more accurate. We were visiting NY from out of state and flying out from the long island airport. After having extremely average Chinese and Malaysian food in Manhattan I was skeptical when my husband wanted to order from this restaurant. Omg was i surprised. This was such a great ending to our trip!!! Large, fresh portions (I ordered too much!) and absolutely delicious food. Although I've never been to Thailand I've eaten lots of thai food and I know what great Thai food tastes like. We got the tom yum noodle soup, spring rolls, tofu panang curry and Thai drunken noodles. I haven't even tried the noodles but the soup, spring rolls and curry were delicious! The spring rolls are huge and generously filled with fresh veggies. Highly recommend! I wish I could find a restaurant like this in Charlotte! Also, major props to the delivery service they use. They were so communicative, even bringing the food to our hotel room. read more

The Green Curry & Basil Lovers are excellent. Tried a bunch of stuff and it's all be great. It's has some seating but the layout is similar to Chinese food to-go restaurant. The owners are the servers and they're fast and efficient, but the place gets super busy for lunch and dinner so expect a wait during prime times. read more

I had Thai style pho chicken two or three time here. It wasn't like Vietnamese food. But it was so good. It comes with cabbage, beansprouts, little scallions. They do like Thai style. Can't compare to any restaurant else. It's consistent and delicious every time, and their Thai Tea can't be beat. The prices are unbelievable-can't recommend this place enough! read more

Not a lot of parking out front, but there is a rear entrance you can use that has a much bigger parking lot for your ease. Service was decent, we got forgotten about once right off the bat, but once we got things straightened out staff were helpful, kind, and attentive. Starting off with drinks, I had tried their gingerbread old fashioned and their boozy coquito. The old fashioned was nothing special, but I did enjoy the little gingerbread man it came with. The coquito on the other hand was very tasty, albeit a little bit boozier than I expected, but I don't often mind a heavy pour. Next up for food, starting with apps, I tried the pretzel which comes with a cheese sauce and mustard on the side. Just as good as you'll find it at any bar serving it up these days. For entrees, I had their signature burger and tried a bite of my girlfriend's steak sandwich, and she definitely came out the winner. Burger was good, but nothing that made it standout much from other good smash burgers. The steak sandwich though was cooked well and didn't all just pull out on the first bite, which to me is the key indicator of a good steak sandwich! Was overall a nice dinner and I'd certainly like to comeback and try more of the menu and I've often been tempted to stop by for their bingo nights, they always seem to have awesome prizes.

I bought 4 sandwiches headed down to the boat, requested each half be wrapped separate, nothing crazy but 4 different types of sandwiches. Everything was great, enough food without being impossible to eat, especially without making a mess on the boat. The guy helping me wrapped everything as requested which I understand may be a PITA but I promise it's the best move for packing a cooler. The other employees were all super friendly and polite to everyone in and out of the deli while I was there. The place looks very clean and there's a great menu on the wall if you can't come up with your own sandwich. Definitely a experience!

They should get an award for the most over-the-top take out bags. Overall, a nice night out. Happy with the service, ambiance and, most importantly, the food. We'll be back!
