I ordered the pad thai 3 * and ask for extra peanut sauce on the side for the rice. They told me it would take approximately 15 minutes and I arrived in about 10 and it was ready so that was a plus. The only negative would be that it was a very mild three stars at best and the peanut sauce had no flavor it was a bit disappointing as it's always one of my favorites. This is the second time I've visited this establishment and I am not impressed. Pad Thai was gummy and had hardly any vegetables or chicken. DON'T GO HERE! ! YIKES! I hate to leave any family-owned restaurant a one-star review, but this place really earned it -- worked for it, even. My family and I attempted to dine here and ended up having to walk out before we were served our food. I have dined out several times a week for most of my life and this has NEVER happened to me! It was around 7pm on Saturday night and the restaurant was less than half full -- maybe 8 - 10 tables were sat and there were no large parties. The waitress (owner?) came right over, gave us water and menus. She didn't return for fifteen minutes to take our order, which was alright -- my mother was in town only for the night and we were enjoying having time to chat. However, it took about thirty minutes after that for the first entree to arrive; it was plopped down at the edge of our table with no explanation -- no indication of whose dish it was or when our other two entrees would arrive. After inspecting the 5" x 6" piece of chicken, we concluded that it was the BBQ Coconut Chicken that I ordered. My husband slid the plate in front of me and, at that precise moment, the waitress/owner came by and took the bowl of rice right OFF OF THE PLATE in front of me and set it in front of my mother. She told me that my entree did not come with rice, that rice would cost $1.50. So this weird piece of square chicken with a pinch of lettuce and a small cup of fish sauce is all that comes with the $11 entrees?! Ugh. Rip off. I was annoyed, but figured maybe the food would be worth the wait and expense. But another fifteen minutes went by and no other dishes came out. We didn't see our server again. When we got up to leave, there were only a few tables of people left in the restaurant. They were not busy enough to warrant this kind of wait. If there was a problem in the kitchen, all the waitress needed to do was communicate with us -- we're not unreasonable people. Sadly, she couldn't even manage that. We wasted an hour of our evening and ended up having to eat dinner someplace else. We ended up going to Pho Ly down the street, which was pretty tasty and a lot cheaper than Thai House. read more

The Thai House is my favorite restaurant in Bellingham and ranks in my Top 10 favorite places of all time. I frequented this place so often that they would start cooking my order when I walked through the door. They also knew me over the phone. My wife had them give me a small little birthday party there. They took care of the cake and everything. The service is always great, the food is outstanding and the price is worth every penny. I never expected to find good Thai food in Washington, but man... I've eaten all over the US and throughout Asia (over 3 years). This is among the best Thai food you'll get anywhere in the US. There is no way those low ratings reflect a typical meal. I suspect those reviews aren't legitimate. The appetizer soups tend to change a bit and I'm not a big fan, however my wife really likes them. I've eaten here at least 20 times and every dish I've had has been delicious. It's not a 5 star restaurant, but it's good enough that I'll give em 5 to bring up the average. If you're having Thai in Bellingham, this is the place to go. If you're lucky you'll get to experience live authentic Thai music and dance performances (they only had this once on a Friday when we were dining in). I think you can check their web site. I have been a fan of Thai House for years. In this case, it's not all the intangibles (service, decor, etc), it's the FOOD! Lunch is the best at Thai House. They have an awesome lunch special, a combo, Pad Thai, Curry, and a spring roll. It's not the lowest cost, but it is a very good combination. If you're like me, you love Thai food. Only problem is that I can't eat every kind of Thai food at every meal. This combo lunch helps, curry and Phad Thai: bliss! I have tried quite a few other dishes here, as well. All are good. Pad Sei Ew and Prikking Prince Chicken. All are freshly and authentically prepared, and tasty. I enjoy always getting salad or soup before my entree. A nice touch. Lemon water is always available. Though Thai iced tea is also very good. Stop by Thai House. Not the nicest, fanciest, or cheapest. Simply worth a stop, for lunch, or any time. read more

I've eaten at this location twice now and had very different experiences. The first time, I ordered the Pad Kee Mao and it was the best I'd had in Bellingham. I've tried about 5 locations now and this one came the closest to what I prefer. My girlfriend ordered the chicken satay and it was also excellent. The second time, something odd happened. I tried ordering Pad Kee Mao with beef, and the male server asked for the number because there were 2 of them, I didn't know what that meant since I feel like, "Pad Kee Mao with beef" is fairly straightforward. Anyway, my girlfriend opened up the menu, found Pad Kee Mao and pointed. I received a non-noodle dish that had everything else in Pad Kee Mao, but in a weird sauce. It wasn't bad, but definitely not what I wanted. I've been to LOTS of Thai places and have never seen this, and nobody I know has heard of it either, including Google. Technically it's our fault, but still weird and unfortunate. My girlfriends chicken satay sucked. It was stale and tough to chew; definitely a 180 from what we originally had. Also, we asked for an additional bit of peanut sauce. They said no problem and brought it to us, without mentioning that it was $2.50 extra, something we obviously wouldn't have paid. When it came time to leave, we asked for a box for our stuff, including the peanut sauce. The women said she'd "combine them" for us and went off. When we got home, we realized we only had a single container of peanut sauce, which was much smaller than the actual amount we ordered. Very crappy to have unknowingly paid such a large amount for a condiment, only to not receive it when we boxed our food up. read more

The States has some great eats in some place, but I'm still hunting in Bellingham. Not wanting fast food or a greasy spoon, I figured a Thai place can't be half bad. Walking in, the lady working there is pretty much a one-woman show for front of house, running around like a fly. I was lame and ordered the Pad Thai, since it is the staple Thai dish. Service took a while, granted they were busy. The Pad Thai was easily the worst I've had, only edible because I was starving. The dish had a burnt taste and didn't taste very fresh. The rice provided was also mushy. But I guess it does well being an Asian joint in this town with patrons that have limited taste buds. Maybe I shoulda grabbed a burger. read more

So far so good. I get the Thai angel from this establishment all the time, also on Viking delivery. It's always cooked perfectly and matches the level of spice I requested. Sometimes they skimp out on the seafood in the order, but it depends on the night. The times I've gone in I've been treated with friendliness and good service. The wait time can be a little slow but it's usually pretty quick. When an order to go was late, the server brought me tea and water and offered a complimentary item since I was waiting so long. Came here on a weekday to get to go lunch for some work colleagues, 5 orders. Took a while for the food to come out, they were kinda busy so I understand that. They offered me water while I waited. Food is kinda spendy for the portions. Phad thai lunch special is $9, used to that being the dinner price, not lunch price. Beware of anything you order fried, it'll taste a bit fishy, I think they need to change their oil. I was too hungry not to eat it so I ate it. Tofu shouldn't have a fishy taste to it. Hard to understand what dishes are what stars on the to-go orders because everything is written in a jumble and illegible. No breakdown on the bill of what you are paying for. Got to work and no peanut sauce was in either of the bags, she wrote it down, so I know I paid for it. Bummed I didn't get to try it out, I hear it's great here. The food wasn't bad. Just disappointed it was hard to figure out who was who's and that our whole order wasn't included. Would try again, maybe when they are less busy. read more

We went here during non-busy hours, around 3 pm. I had the chili pepper fried rice and my friend had the chicken pad thai. Quite simply, the food was plain. She asked for a spiciness of 3 out of 4 but said it barely seemed like a 2 at most. The real issue though was the poor service: One of my pet peeves is having to eat fried rice with a fork. After 10 minutes of trying to ask for a fork, I just gave up and dealt with it. No joke, the elder man there tried to get a younger employee, probably his daughter, hired at another job. I could easily hear this lady come in saying she worked at a major phone carrier and telling the girl to come in sometime so they can talk further. It was quite obvious what was happening. I don't understand how in a service business you don't make the investment to hire someone that communicates well in the local language. The elder man took our order himself, clearly had hearing issues, and repeatedly said "everything is good?" Over and over again. What if I said no? First off, when I ordered lunch there two days ago they overcharged me for their special. My lunch was $12.97 and on the menu a number 24 is only $8.95 before tax. Sooooooo you do the math... So I called the next day to order dinner hoping that they would rectify the mistake from my lunch order on my dinner order, and the woman and argued with me saying that the price was with tax. I told her that, that could not be the case because it is only $8.95 and only $1 extra for Shrimp. There is no way sales tax went to 22%. Then she told me to hurry up and place my order and come in 5 minutes because they were going to close. It was 8:30 and they close at 9. Okay so maybe it was cutting it close, that is understandable but that is not good customer service. I was a waitress for 5 years. You are supposed to make your customers feel welcome. Not feel like they are lucky to even have their order placed. I am positive her owner would not appreciate this level of customer service. Then when I got there to pick up my order I accidentally gave them to much money ($5) and she had the audacity to ask me for $.010 to make the sale even. It was only then that I noticed that she had an extra $5 that I took back from her. And when I thought things could not be any worse we got home and we were eating out of puddles and they forgot to add the white rice to our garlic tofu order. So don't there. They don't appreciate your business and could care less if there are mistakes made on your order. I doubt this place they would last if they didn't cheat people. read more

Worst Thai food and service I've ever had. I created a Yelp account just to warn people about this place. The pad thai tasted like it had tomato in it, very odd. That pad see ew tasted old and sour beans mixed in that made my girlfriend nauseated. I had to spit out the chicken because it made me feel sick and I just knew it wasn't right. Not to mention the rice was terribly cooked. All around nearly everything was inedible. The server, instead of checking on our meal or refilling our water after thirty minutes was sitting at another customers table just chatting. When she finally came around she asked how our food was. We told her calmly and rationally it wasn't great and told her the specifics of why. She immediately got massively defensive and asked us if we had ever even eaten Thai food before and aggressively asked if we wanted our money back. Ordered pad Thai to go with a side of peanut sauce. My husband reminded them about the peanut sauce and even asked if they'd put it in there, but lo and behold it wasn't in the bag once he got home. We have been eating at/from this restaurant for 20 years. Their food is wonderful and they have a great variety.

I've eaten at Thai house several times over the years and it's stayed pretty consistent in taste and portions. Is this the best Thai ever? No, but then again that's subjective. But it is pretty good food for decent price considering how large the portions are. I can't say what the service is like since we've always ordered our food for delivery, but our orders always arrive correct and hot, so no complaints here. Only thing I don't care for is the spice level, it's really hit or miss. Sometimes a 4 is more like a two and other times a 4 is so hot that I can barely eat without choking. read more

Best Thai food in Bellyham, in my opinion. I LOVE their curry dishes. The panang curry is my favorite. It's so creamy and coconutty and they're incredibly generous with their chicken. Only thing is, you have to buy the rice separately, and they're not very generous. It takes about two orders of rice to accompany one curry dish. It's worth it to me, though. The Pad See Ew (I think that's how it's spelled) is glorious. They gave it to us by accident one time, and we started ordering it every time after that. It smells like puppy dogs, but it tastes like heaven. Just try it sometime. I can't vouch for the Pad Thai because I personally hate that dish altogether and I've only had it at On Rice, but I'm sure most people would like it here. It's kind of an adventure going to the bathroom. You have to go through these doors and then walk down this long hall, take a few corners, even passing the kitchen, but you'll find it and it's really clean and private. The decor is whimsical. It's not pretentious and fancy like On Rice. Thai dolls and elephants are placed all over. The Thai Iced Teas are delicious, I could never eat Thai food without one. And they serve their water with lemons in the pitcher. I really like that. read more

I love the place! I've been to most of the Thai restaurants in Bellingham and this one is my favorite. The waitstaff are very friendly and I haven't had a bad experience with them. Everything I've ordered has been really delicious, every order comes with a small salad with peanut dressing or a really yummy little cup of soup. The pad thai is really good and the best I've had in Bellingham. It isn't too oily and you get a really big portion for the price. The chicken red curry is good too. Thai House has a booth at the Farmer's Market and the food there is good too. This place might seem like a dive but it isn't pretentious like Pad Thai or On Rice.
