I have ordered food from Thai Garden for many years... Their pineapple curry and Panang is always amazing. We usually order Tom kai soup which i think is the best around ( but i always ask for no tomatoes, that's just a personal preference. If you don't want Curry the Pad Thai is always good the Garlic chicken... my sister just recently started ordering the Thai fried rice w chicken and pineapple. yumm. Thai garden is a little hole in the wall place off of battlefield parkway. It's a family owned business, therefore very understaffed, but the food makes up for it. There is one server getting orders, refilling drinks, delivering food, cashing people out, with some help from who i assume to be the owners son. This isn't a place you go to when you're in a rush, but moreso if you want good food and have a lot of time to spare. The ambiance is casual, with a large picture in the front that's beautiful. The communication between the son and the owner here is comical. They basically yell at each other when communicating throughout the restaurant. I'm not sure if this is the norm, if they're mad, or hard of hearing. The ordering process here also seems rushed, but maybe i just came on an off day. Now for the food. Oh my goodness. Some of the best Thai I've ever had. The menu is quite extensive but almost everything i ordered was superb. I had the Tom Kha soup with chicken. This is the first time I've had chunks of tomatoes in mine but i liked the acidity and sweetness it added. There were large chunks of chicken and mushrooms in the soup, with a beautiful lemongrass flavor. Sooo good. I ordered that for an appetizer but they may not have made that known because i received the soup about 15-20 mins after ordering and received my green curry at the same time. They were both good so i had them simultaneously :) The curry was perfectly creamy and rich with big chunks of green peppers, green beans and bamboo in it. I had the pad see ew to go with beef, and that may be my least favorite. There's only broccoli in it for a veggie, and lots of thick noodles. The beef was cooked perfectly though and just the right amount of spice. At Thai garden they get their spice levels right which i love. I had it medium and it was perfect. Boy I was ready to hate this place. They told me it was going to be ready in 20 minutes and it was another 15. But the pad Thai was so good and there was more than enough for 2. The won ton soup also very good but oddly no pork. The summer rolls were ok--not the best but passable. read more

We love this place!! We have only done takeout- which was the only option as of today (11/13/20) bc of COVID. Their pineapple curry dish is amazing- our go to every time. We have mixed it up- soup broths are good, noodle dishes are good (in our house cold for breakfast). We stopped in en route to the battlefield on a Saturday at lunchtime. The restaurant wasn't packed, but had a steady stream of customers. Overall, it has a definite family-run vibe to it, though they have put a lot into the decor, etc. My wife and I split our order between Chinese (her) and Thai (me). She was less enamored with her dish (beef and broccoli). It wasn't bad, but it wasn't stand-out. Mine (curry and tofu) was quite good. I asked for a 4 out of 5 on the spicy scale and they delivered. Thai places often pull their spicy-punch, probably out of fear of people sending their 'too hot' food back. I'm impressed when they step up and, after warning you about it, give you what you asked for. I finished mine. There probably aren't a lot of Thai places in this area, but I'd willingly return for another order if I were visiting this part of Georgia again. read more

What a treat! Thai is my favorite, but there is none to be had near home. A day trip to Costco put this gem on our radar - such good fortune! Ed's Kee Mau was just hot enough at a 4, and my Green Curry was perfect. But the real star of the meal was the Tom Ka Gai. We are so glad we took a chance here. I enjoy Thai food and my husband prefers Chinese. This place has both so we may have found our new happy place. The food here is prepared to order and very fresh. I ordered the Tom Yum Gai soup and it will be my go-to every time. I only wish I had ordered the large to have some leftovers to take home. I also highly recommend the red curry. I ordered mine with tofu and the tofu was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft in the center. I also like my curry with very little heat and the chef was spot on with the flavor. My husband ordered the traditional Chinese hot and sour soup and Mongolian beef, both of which he enjoyed. Our only complaint would be the ambience. The restaurant could really do with some improvements. The booth seats were torn and taped, the carpet was dingy, and the lighting was very poor. In addition, the entrance door didn't fully close on its own and because it was cold and windy we had to keep getting up to close it after people would leave with their takeout. A minor annoyance, but it disrupted the meal several times. We will likely get takeout on our next visit, but I will say the service was impeccable and we wouldn't let the décor discourage us from eating in if we were too hungry to wait for the drive home. Food is quite good. For comparison, it's not quite the quality of the original Thai Essan in East Ridge (with the original owners). It's better than most places in Chattanooga. My biggest gripe is the incredibly slow service if you decide to dine-in. Sat for 15 minutes. No one took my order. Got up and left. They seem to prioritize their take out customers. The food was very tasty, but a little heavy on the salt. I asked for spicy - I told her a 3-4 spicy and she said "American Spicy?" and I said no, much spicier. My food was not spicy at all, so I asked for extra spice. They brought out some spice that was pilier than it was spicy. If I could make any suggestions it would be to be more authentic in their foods with the spice levels. The service was incredible!!! They were super friendly and very accommodating. read more

My goodness. I don't honestly know why I waited so long to come here! Followed some advice of other Yelpers, and oh my! Definitely the best Orange Chicken, I've honestly ever had! Double check the receipt price!!!!!! Food is great. BUT, the lady does seem to overprice on the final receipt. She never gave me an itemized receipt, instead a little piece of paper with my grand total. After doing the math, she has been adding on an extra $1-$2 when giving me my grand total. I've eaten here 10+ times and she has done it every time. I can do basic math, and I know what my total should roughly be every time I go out to eat. Thank you yelp for turning us on to this place! It was excellent! We were greeted by a very friendly woman who I'm most certain is the owner. She greeted everyone who entered like they were her best friend. I sure like to spend my money with an owner who appreciates her customers. I've only eaten at a Thai restaurant probably ten times or so but this was certainly the most reasonably priced and probably one of the best I've had. I got the green basil curry shrimp and loved it. The spice level that you can request is 1-5 with 5 being the hottest. I got 4 and figured it was probably perfect for me. A very nice spice without being hard to eat. I might go for five next time. My wife had the tofu Pad Thai and loved it as well. They had a nice sized vegetarian menu. Well, I just wish it wasn't so far from our house. I'd love to get take out from here often so that I could try out many of the dishes. The only drawback was that I noted the price of the dish that I ordered was $8.95 (dinner portion with shrimp), but the bill came back with it saying $9.50. As I was paying at the cash register, I checked the menu again and did see $8.95. I didn't say anything about it though. I'm sure this wasn't intentional. read more

I would have never guessed I would eat the best Asian food I've ever had in small North Georgia town. I decided to check this place out because of the good reviews here and I was not disappointed. First off I should mention Google Maps did not actually take me to this location. It took me further down the road near a Hardee's. Thai Garden is actually located in the Office Depot shopping center. I can't speak for any other navigation app. When I got there the place was empty, but I came at that awkward late lunch/early dinner time so I expected as much. I was immediately greeted by the hostess/server and we were seated. The only negatives about this place is the location and the decor. Oh my god. Look at the ceiling. Seriously, look at it. The food was amazing! I ordered the vegetarian pad Thai spicy level 3. It had rice noodles, tofu, mushrooms, carrots, spring onions, etc. Every bite you'd get a different veggie, and the spice level was perfect for me. The portion size was huge and I had to force myself to get through half of it. At around $7 it was completely worth the money. I also ordered spring rolls which were pretty much what you'd expect, but the ingredients were fresh and obviously not frozen. The menu was very extensive with plenty of options to choose from. Noodle plates, stir fry, with meat or without, with broth or without, multiple spicy levels to choose from. I'm shocked that such amazing Asian food can be found in such an out of the way place. Tried this for the first time last night. It's obviously family owned and run, so they take pride in what they do. The seafood pad nam prik pao talay (18) was nicely done and very flavorful. The calamari was a little rubbery, but not distractingly so. The beef stir fry pad gang pah (33) was full of thin tender beef and lots of vegetables. I ordered everything as mild spice because we were all planning to share, but this would be amazing with good heat. The noodle dish pad wuhn sen (45) with chicken was the best of the bunch. I'm really hesitant to write this review. This is normally one of my favorite Thai places to eat. It's a hole in the wall but it has really good food normally. So we went in the other night and the place look exceptionally dirty. So we decided to get our food to go. Hoping the kitchen is way cleaner than the dining room. Our order it's pretty much always the same. We didn't check our food before we left and that's our own fault. We got home and literally not one of our sauces was in the box. Every single item we ordered came with a sauce. I was so disappointed that I did not feel like putting on a bra and getting back out. I know some of y'all ladies know exactly what I'm talking about. My satay chicken skewers were terribly overcooked and dry. I don't even think the missing peanut sauce would have made them better. The summer rolls we always ask for with shrimp no chicken and once again funky ass Chicken in them. My wife won't even touch them and I don't care for that particular Chicken in them. So that was a bust. And I ordered chicken dumplings and they just were not good at all. My wife gets the sweet and sour tofu, she said it was okay but not as good as usual. And my final complaint no matter when we go in there the total is never correct we always have to pull them in you out and discuss the bill. It is always $6 to $7 higher than its supposed to be. So I think we are going to lay off for this place for a little while and let them get their stuff together before we eat there again. read more

Had been thinking about trying this place for a while and decided to stop by. I wish I hadn't. It took FOREVER for us to get our food then they only bring it out one plate at a time. My son and I were almost finished with ours before my husband was given his plate. When I was asking the waitress where his food was I was quickly dismissed. We ordered Chinese food and it was very plain. The sweet and sour chicken was almost tasteless. It was in the menu that it came with pineapples and peppers but it does not. Who expects to find a really good Thai restaurant in a small town in Northwest Georgia, I certainly didn't. We ate at Thai Garden last night and had a seafood salad a seafood Curry and a chicken curry and they were all excellent. Even the squid was tender and flavorful. over the last twelve years this restaurant and family who own it have become part of my family. Everything is made to order with the freshest ingredients. Before I moved to Chattanooga, I picked up dinner at least twice a week. Now that I have moved it's not as often as I would like, but I still manage a couple times a month.
