Got at the restaurant about 6:30. Tried to order 4 orders of egg rolls (2each) but were told no you can't, too many. You can have 2 orders. It is now 8:40 and we are still waiting for some of our food. Dishes were brought out individually one meal at a time with 15 to 25 minutes between meals. So everyone was eating their meal by themselves. We were there with four adults and four kids. Food was OK but I would never eat here again. Waitress was snotty and condescending. 1 is a generous rating. Before I finished this rating, we asked about my dinner, which hadn't been served yet. She said she forgot to make it. Tried the #14 Yellow Curry (Gang Ga-Rhee) this evening. Let's just say it was phenomenal. Loads of flavor coming from this dish, creamy coconut milk curry, fresh carrots, potatoes, and semi crunchy onion! Can't believe they have been there for over 13 years and I've missed it. Definitely stop by if you're in the mood for great Thai food in the area. The owners were very pleasant to speak with while they wrapped up our to go order. Ok, this place is my favorite Thai food place in the area, by far! It's really a whole in the wall place. The decor is dated, the booths are old and some are held together with duct tape, but don't let that fool you. The food is AMAZING! My favorite dish is the yellow curry. I usually get chicken but I really don't need the meat. Really just need the sauce. I could just drink it. I'm typically a panang curry gal and there's is good, but the yellow curry is the best thing on the menu. I'm craving it right now. You can pick your spice level, I usually choose like or 2 or 3. The flavors of this curry are just tremendous! I've also had other dishes. I read someone's review about their Orange Chicken, and OMGawd! It is the best orange chicken I've ever had. It's fresh made, with big chunks of chicken, not some chopped up byproduct. It is delicious! Sometimes you get a show too when the mother and the son and daughter are yelling at each other about orders. It's so funny. The family is very sweet and welcoming though. Seriously, go there. Thai Garden serves food deserving of 5 stars but the facility leaves a lot to be desired. I have only ever gotten the Pad Thai. This is mainly because each time I get it, it has been outstanding - some of the best I've ever had, so I can't break away from it. The chef here clearly knows how to make Pad Thai. The service has always been good for me. Some days it seems like there might be only 1 person working the dining room, but we're also in some strange times with so many businesses suffering from inadequate staffing. Regardless, as a rule, I just make sure I'm friendly, patient, kind, and not pushy. Most of the time, I get good service everywhere I go. However, we are all human and sometimes we can make mistakes. To the owners: I truly hate to say it but unfortunately, it's not enough just to have outstanding food, you also must have clean, functional, updated, odor-free, and well-lit facilities to put yourself ahead of the crowd: With the recent increase in your prices (an updated menu would be helpful, by the way!), I really hope you are saving for a remodel. The facility in general (dining room, bathrooms, furniture, etc...) is in desperate need of some updating & maintenance. It is for this reason I mainly get my orders to-go, and for the 4-star review. I have a weekly habit that involves Thai Garden's pepper steak with lo mein, spiciness level 3. If I don't get my fix for the week, I feel incomplete. I absolutely adore the owner, and am very happy to patronize her business. Thai Garden is one of the hidden gems of Fort Oglethorpe and we're so glad it exists. The owner will refer to level 3 as "just American spicy, no really spicy" and she's exactly right. This is my limit, because I'll hiccup for two hours if I surpass it. However if you are more immune to spiciness than I am, you should know that they have a Level 6 that isn't advertised. I am admittedly not brave enough to try it after my experience with Level 5. read more

We stopped here after a trip to Costco. The food was terrific! I had pineapple curry with chicken and my wife had red curry, again with chicken. They were both great. Service was excellent. Ambiance is a little lacking but the food was fantastic! Another hole in the wall with a treasure hidden within. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that the restaurant was a little depressing. Definitely needs to be freshened up, but I can look past that for great food any day. You can choose your spice level between 1-5 and I heard a mention of a 6, but I think you have to ask for that under your breath. Seems to be a bit of an off the menu thing but they are happy to oblige so long as you can take the heat. I had the Gang Dang with chicken at a spice level of 4 which was spot on for me but I enjoy spicy food. The level 4 was hot enough to make me sweat and my nose run and that makes me a very happy man! Honestly I could have bathed in the broth but I am afraid that it would have set those sensitive areas on fire! Wife tried it but it was way to hot for her so if you're on the fence about taking a walk on the wild side, I wouldn't go any higher than a 3. Service was a little slow but not annoyingly so. Everyone was very friendly and honestly, we enjoyed them leaving us alone. This will definitely be a place that we will make a point to visit in a regular basis. Ordered fried rice and pad Thai for dine-in and curry for to-go. Portion was good and food was flavorful. I asked for spicy level of 5 and it definitely satisfied my craving but probably will go for something less to taste the food more next time. The only drawback was the atmosphere, too quiet. I love this place and the food that comes out of it. I think the prices are still the same as when I reviewed 7 years ago which makes Thai Garden an outstanding value. Perhaps word has gotten out and perhaps it's the improving economy, but the restaurant has gotten busy and, at least in the evening, the kitchen is overwhelmed more often than not. The food that comes out is still consistently good but there's no telling when it's going to be ready. Calling in a take-out order has become a Russian roulette of sorts as it may be ready in 15 minutes or it may be more than an hour. The person taking the order doesn't volunteer when there may be an extensive wait. And attempts at trying to vaguely pin down when an order will be ready have proved useless. I suspect that when there is plenty of dine-in business, a take-out order doesn't even go into the que to be prepared until the customer shows up thinking their order ready. I'm happy for the owners in their success as all their hard work is paying off. But I can no longer recommend Thai Garden to anyone who cannot easily accommodate haphazard wait times for their meals. Henceforth I'm going to only dine-in and only after stepping in and apprising how busy the restaurant is. If there are lots of tables waiting for food, I'll be going elsewhere that evening. read more

There's a sticker on the door that says "Yelp loves us" and there is a good reason for that. We're in this area a few times a month, and stop in for a meal every time. While we tend to order our usual go-to meal (#3 soup extra spicy & #33 dinner size with chicken, lol), we've had most things on the menu and can recommend all of it. Pad Thai is properly balanced with a nice amount of fresh vegetables, sauce and chiles. The curries are all marvelous, especially the Panang. It's rich with coconut, balanced with fresh lime and though portions are enormous here, I can't prevent myself from eating it all in one sitting. While the food is uniformly wonderful, even better are the lovely folks who own, cook and run the place. We're always welcomed warmly, they remember our individual preferences and they make eating here such a joy. Do yourself a favor and stop in - frequently! read more

I absolutely love the food from here! My absolute favorite menu item is the #18 (medium spicy). It's seafood, vegetables and rice in this amazing spicy sauce that I swear I'd live off of if I could afford to eat out every day. The lady who owns this restaurant is very nice and after a few visits, she already remembers what I like to order. She's very outgoing and enjoys talking to her guests and getting to know them. Every time I go in there, she asks how things are going, like work and my family. Very friendly people and a strong asset to this community. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because it's an old place that needs some updated remodeling, but... that takes a lot of money and, unfortunately with the current state of everything in the world and specifically our country, money just isn't that easy to come by. We usually order Tom kai soup which i think is the best around ( but i always ask for no tomatoes, that's just a personal preference. Thai garden is a little hole in the wall place off of battlefield parkway. It's a family owned business, therefore very understaffed, but the food makes up for it. There is one server getting orders, refilling drinks, delivering food, cashing people out, with some help from who i assume to be the owners son. This isn't a place you go to when you're in a rush, but moreso if you want good food and have a lot of time to spare. The ambiance is casual, with a large picture in the front that's beautiful. The communication between the son and the owner here is comical. They basically yell at each other when communicating throughout the restaurant. I'm not sure if this is the norm, if they're mad, or hard of hearing. The ordering process here also seems rushed, but maybe i just came on an off day. Now for the food. Oh my goodness. Some of the best Thai I've ever had. The menu is quite extensive but almost everything i ordered was superb. I had the Tom Kha soup with chicken. This is the first time I've had chunks of tomatoes in mine but i liked the acidity and sweetness it added. There were large chunks of chicken and mushrooms in the soup, with a beautiful lemongrass flavor. Sooo good. I ordered that for an appetizer but they may not have made that known because i received the soup about 15-20 mins after ordering and received my green curry at the same time. They were both good so i had them simultaneously :) The curry was perfectly creamy and rich with big chunks of green peppers, green beans and bamboo in it. I had the pad see ew to go with beef, and that may be my least favorite. There's only broccoli in it for a veggie, and lots of thick noodles. The beef was cooked perfectly though and just the right amount of spice. At Thai garden they get their spice levels right which i love. I had it medium and it was perfect. Overall, I'll be back to try more menu item. Their prices are great, good portions, and interesting entertainment. Thai Garden from my visit today has many regulars. Four of us took a road trip to find this Thai restaurant after reading a series of positive reviews on Yelp. The location was difficult to find, as it was tucked behind a number of fast food restaurants on the back end of the strip mall. Once inside, the interior was sizable, but since we were hoping for an authentic fare, it was difficult to relate with the Chinese décor. The Pad See-iew ($7.95) came with stir-fried rice noodles, beef, broccoli, carrots, baby corn, mushroom, and fried tofu. The consistencies of the slippery noodles were slightly thinner than expected. They used regular broccoli as a substitute for Chinese broccoli. The composition of the flavors were positive, but more Chinese (chow fun) than Thai. Good beef flavor, but the dish also came out very greasy. It is not something I would recommend. Green Curry Chicken ($12.95) came with pieces of white meat, peas, carrots, bamboo shoots, bell pepper, basil, and green beans. The green curry was heavy on the coconut milk and came out way too sweet. It also lacked the appropriate Thai spicy profile. Comparatively, this might be the best dish of the night. The combination of vegetables added texture to accompany a nice serving of chicken. Pad Gang Pah ($7.95) included stir-fried chicken, peas, carrots, bamboo, bell peppers, basil, green beans, baby corns, mushroom, red curry paste. The jungle curry was again sweeter than expected with the wrong Thai spicy profile. Like the other dishes, it had all the qualities of a Chinese stir-fry, not Thai. Khao Pad ($7.95) came with fried tofu, peas, carrots, onions, broccoli, tomatoes, and cilantro. The fried rice was dense and greasy, and could be fried longer to bring about an airy fluffly quality. By now, we find the ingredients to be repetitive across these dishes, except for the sauces and curries to differentiate these items by name and price. In all, this was a poor Chinese interpretation of the cuisine. The owners also could not understand my request for prik nam pla, a staple that should be readily available in any Thai restaurants. They were noticeably friendlier to my non-Asian dining companions, which further added to the negative experience. Those coming for an authentic fare will be disappointed.
