When you go to a mall, what do you think when you hear food court? Probably low quality, tired staff just trying to get through the day. How this is a chain Thai place located in those types of areas is beyond me. The staff were super friendly, and very accommodating. As a vegetarian/pescatarian, it's sometimes hard to tell what can be swapped in what dishes. The cashier was very helpful when the special of the day I wanted (chicken pad thai sub tofu) turned out were made all in one, and showed me exactly how I could get the same thing with the tofu I want by getting the stir-fry instead. I got it very spicy, with some sriracha just incase, and the combination put things at the perfect spice level for me. I love my food HOT hot, so I'm very excited to say they don't skimp on the spice unlike many other places. The chef was very friendly, and speedy to the craft, having my food ready before I even reached the end of the counter! Went to the mall last Friday to meet up some friends while they shopped. One was already in the food court. I was pretty hungry so decided to grab a snack too. I haven't been to the mall food court in many years and had no idea that they now have Thai food. I ended up getting their Tom Yum Fried Rice special w/ chicken (not a snack, I know lol) and a Thai iced tea. Think my total was about $13-14? Not bad! The thai iced tea was okay. Needed a bit more thai tea flavor for me. The fried rice portion was pretty good amount. It was enough for 2-3 meals for me. I thought it had good flavor and the chicken was cooked perfectly. The food is so tasty, no dairy in most of not all their food. So dairy free, there are gluten free options as well. The customer service is great, they are polite and helpful. The man at the counter helped me get water with just a splash of lemon aid and it was perfect. I got 2 kids meals for only $6 each and a adult meal and everything was so good! Both my kids loved their meals! Which is very rare they both said this is their new favorite place to eat! I highly recommend for a healthy place to take the kids! read more

I didn't really expect much but I was still slightly disappointed. If you're looking for curry, go elsewhere. I was honestly angry when I took a bite of what I thought was a potato but turned out to be a pineapple. Pineapple doesn't belong in Yellow Curry. The Curry felt very paste-like. And the rice is atrocious. The Orange Chicken is decent. It has a very orange zest flavor that Panda Express orange chicken doesn't have. I would avoid the Curry dishes and try their other dishes. I mentioned this to them and pointed out that spring rolls are best when served fresh. He immediately offered me a refund, which I declined. I used to frequent this location (Chandler Mall) pre-pandemic and the service was hit or miss. I stopped coming, even post-pandemic because of the inconsistent service and food- but decided to try it out again since I heard it was under new management. Initially it was good! I came back 3 times in the span of a week. The first two times, the order and service went well. The food was great and all was accurate. On my initial visit I tried the Green Chicken and Shrimp Curry. Liked it, so got it again as well as the Panay Chicken and Shrimp Curry (lunch and dinner) on the second visit. There was a good amount of shrimp (I'd say 4-5 pcs) in both dishes and the shrimp weren't tiny scrawny pieces. The amount of chicken was also good. My third time was a poor experience. I recommended the place to my husband and though he was hesitant he was willing to try it. Ordered two green chicken and shrimp curries as well as the daily special, Tom Yum Chicken soup for the first time. Both Green Curries did not have any shrimp and only a couple pieces of chicken. We ordered it to go and didn't know it was inaccurate until we got home. Unfortunately the shrimp is an extra cost and having none was a bummer. Disappointing. I'm not sure I'll be back. I'm usually picking up on my lunch time and I'm looking for good tasting food that's consistently served quickly and accurately. read more

This is my second review on this place. I love the food here. Today I went and ordered food and sat down and ate at the food court. A very nice gentleman rang me up. I later then went up and asked for a water cup but a different gentleman that probably doesn't own the restaurant and gets paid minimum wage was refusing to give me a cup of water UNTIL the nice gentleman told him I order food earlier. Very tasty delivery! We ordered the Pad Thai and the Green Curry and both were really tasty. They come in pretty good portion sizes where you can potentially split two entrees between three people if you want, and I felt the prices were reasonable. I ordered medium spicy on the Pad Thai and didn't really notice that much spice so I probably could have gone hotter, but the green curry seemed like an accurate reflection of my expectations for medium. Love that I can have yummy Thai food at the mall! The mall!!! Wow, never thought this day would come. The portion sizes are big, prices reasonable. The mini soups are a perfect size to hit the spot, but not overfilling. I had the chicken pad Thai noodles and I cleaned my plate. Spicy level had my nose running, cleared my sinuses, just the way I like it! Friendly and fast customer service, a clean counter with condiments (hello Sriracha!), silverware, chopsticks, etc...Our food was made on the spot and served HOT. I'm sooooo excited to have found Thai Express!!! We were going to go to the Mexican restaurant next door, but I decided to look at TE's menu first. Lo and behold AND be still my heart, they clearly mark their items vegan and gluten free...AND there are a variety of options (rice, thin noodle, thick noodles, etc.) instead of the usual after thought of a single boring dish. I am also appreciative that I can have veggies instead of tofu, which is a standard vegan go-to. The owner is gluten free and clearly took time to consider other dietary restrictions. She was very friendly and helpful. If I hadn't asked if she was the owner I would not have known since she was down to earth and working as hard as her employee. Oh yeah, I guess I should mention that the fried rice and pad see ew are both great dishes. One side of caution is to specify when you order vegan if you want tofu or vegetables. I visited a second time and the manager put beef in the meal...he apologized and said it was a habit. Hopefully I took the hit for other vegans. They did refund the meal read more

Bad greasy food that isn't made with proper ingredients and was a waste of money. The soup broth is decent but not at all the way Thai soup is supposed to taste. Tofu was really chewy and salty. Never had tofu that chewy before. Noodles weren't cooked enough and were clumped together. Not much sauce or flavor other than salt and grease. Fast food and convenient location in the mall but not good food by any standards. Attitude of some staff was off putting. Overall it's subpar mall food. Wouldn't choose Thai Express in the future nor recommend. Their plastic cutlery is even worse and more flimsy than elsewhere. More expensive than it should be for rubbish. read more

It's nice to see a Thai place in a mall food court for a change. That said, let me review the food, and their eco rating in terms of disposable products used. Food: we ordered the green chicken curry, mango salad, and tum yum soup with shrimp, and Thai tea. Yes, it's unfair to judge this place against real Thai food, but the curry was tasty, with Curry on a bed of streamed rice. The tum yum soup was good as well. But, the mango salad wasn't a Thai "mango salad," but sliced sweet mango over a bed of lettuce. Yeah, for Thai foodies I'd pass on the salad. Oh, the That tea was ok too. Many places make bad Thai tea, and this was not bad. Eco score: well what would you expect from a mall food court, but typically tons of disposable containers and utensils. We were hopeful when we saw the Asian paper takeaway boxes, but when ordering for dine in, the curry came in a plastic plates. Sigh. Paper cup with plastic lid door the tea, and paper bowl for the soup, luckily. The salad was encased in a plastic bowl and lid. We used our own utensils and stainless steel stress straw to avoid the plastics. I would update my score to a four, if the business updates their plastic use, and makes a real mango salad! I went today around 1:45 and I'm not sure if it was an off day or if this is how it always is but I waited more than an hour for my food. A few things went wrong. First, the cashier never gave me a receipt, instead he asked for my number so I assumed I would receive an electronic receipt with my food order number but nope. Was told the wait would be about 15 mins which I was ok with. After about 30 minutes I was a bit concerned so I went up to the cook side counter and informed the worker that I never got a receipt so I didn't know how I was supposed to know when my order is called. He found my receipt and told me the number. I assumed it would only be a little longer because the number they were currently on was only about 7 orders away. However, I stood there for another 30 minutes and went up to the counter again to which the worker then informed me my food had been sitting in a bag on the counter but the guy never called out my number. I was a bit frustrated but whatever. I then check my order at the table and then I see they forgot the imperial roll which should be included because I made it a combo. I went back and got that and was finally after an hour and 10 minutes able to sit and eat. The most disappointing part was that the pad see ew had no flavor and was very bland. The food came out piping hot because it was made fresh to order. The pad Thai did not taste like pad Thai and they used way too much fish sauce. The pad Thai sauce and noodles were tasty. The fried tofu was crispy. I'm not a fan of a ton a veggies in pad Thai- I could have done without the broccoli, baby corn, and peppers. I ordered medium spice--it was completely mild. My real objection is the mild case of food poisoning I got later that day. The whole experience was great. The cashier was very friendly and walked through the menu. I asked a number of questions, and she figured out I couldn't find something just right. I was told they make it fresh and can customize whatever I wanted. So, I got red curry chicken over rice noodles. (I don't like white rice.) The food was great! I can't compare it to other Thai places as I don't frequent that style of cuisine often, but I will come back again. The red curry wasn't quite as spicy as I expected which is fine. Every restaurant has their own interpretation of "spicy" just like they have their own version of "large." I'm sure they would make it spicier if I asked next time. I also got the... spring roll thing. (I don't remember what it was called.) It came with a plum sauce. The sweetness of the sauce created a nice balance with the curry. After getting tired of all the other food options in the mall, I'll definitely make this place a standard go-to. read more
