I can't believe how filthy and cluttered this restaurant is. I walked in on the vegan side and there were giant, dark overcrowded fish tanks with dirt and yuck on top of the tanks. Nothing like walking into a vegan restaurant and seeing huge ranks of confined animals. The whole place is dirty and cluttered. Store wasn't very clean. I ignored it as it's a family owned business and things happen. I sat down and got some attitude as I was ordering. Again, I let it go as I'm just here for the food. Then I got served coffee with expired milk. It was curdling and smelled pretty nasty so I tried to ask for a replacement, but nobody would bother to even look over. I raised my voice to get someone's attention and got ignored. The only one who would help me was a small child from the back. He went over and conveyed my message to someone up front; I watched him proceed to get ignored & literally shoved away. If the coffee was that much of a disaster, I can't imagine how bad the rest of the food is. If you're running a restaurant you should learn how to interact with other humans in a respectful manner. The gentleman at the counter was a Gem. Not only did he give me a detailed lay of the menu's land, but he was also so sociable/chatty as can be...one of my high points of great customer service. My order was simple - Veggie Pad Thai & Spring Rolls, I don't think I'd get the Pad Thai again as it was too mushy. & you can never go wrong with perfectly fried Spring Rolls. This small family owned and family operated restaurant was a delight to visit. My husband and I enjoyed the fresh spring rolls, basil eggplant, fried rice and the sweet and sour. My husband and I noticed this restaurant after stopping by the bike shop and we had to try it! We ordered the mango salad and the soy beef Rad nah and it was delicious! We literally scraped the plates! The mango salad was very refreshing with a mix of sweet mango slices and crunchy peanuts and veggies! I wish I discovered this fish sooner. Now I will be addicted. The Soy beef Rad Nah was very savory and light for noodles! You can have your choice of protein which includes, soy chicken, soy beef or soy shrimp (or extra veggies). I was so excited to try this place and immediately disappointed when I walked in. This restaurant apparently has a vegan and non vegan seating area, however, the vegan side is extremely small and the wall is lined with overcrowded fish tanks.... It's my assumption these fish are eaten on the non vegan side (multiple large fish that can barely swim in their small confinement). The restaurant was dirty and everything felt sticky. The food was extremely oily and although it was decent, I would not recommend this place nor visit again. Staff was friendly, no complaints there. Well I will say the food was done promptly for preparation but the quality was just not there. I ordered the spring rolls and the spicy basil noodles. I will say that the spring rolls were excellent with their sauce I was very satisfied with that. However as soon as I open the spicy basil noodles there was a smell that was just absolutely disgusting. I was so excited when I heard this restaurant was opening up and was purely vegan! My friend, who is not vegan received a coupon in the mail for them but when we went they weren't opened yet and I'm not quite sure why they sent out coupons if they weren't opened. It stinks because now I can't get my friend to go and he lives within walking distance of this place. Last night I was hanging out with my friend and I got hungry...he wasn't so I decided that this was the perfect time to give this place a try...and they support ordering through the Yelp app...even better! I ordered a green curry and some vegetable tempura and when I arrived they had just finished cooking it so it was ultra fresh. I thought the food was just ok. The vegetable tempura wasn't a tempura at all...just vegetables dipped in thick batter and then fried. It wasn't that light crispy tempura batter that I love (probably because there's no egg). I don't know if I would have this on the menu in a vegan place. It also came with a side of sweet and sour sauce, which was bland and not typical of veggie tempura. Usually that comes with a soy sauce of some sort. The curry was just ok...didn't really have that curry flavor...I mainly tasted coconut milk and that was it. I would still probably get it again or try one of their other curries. I will be back to this location but for takeout. The food was great. The cleanliness... not great. My husband came here a few weeks ago and said he tried out the pho. He enjoyed the food but said there was blaring music and slow service. We decided to go this week for the pho again. There was a man in the lobby who greeted us immediately. The bathroom was quite unclean. Stains and splashes. I get it, when you work in a busy restaurant it's hard to keep up with cleaning but they weren't busy. The tv in the lobby and all the surfaces looked like a sticky handed kid touched everything. Also, the "dirty curtains" people talk about on here is a real thing. On to the food. We ordered the pho but asked to split. The waitress said it's too hard for them to split into two bowls in the kitchen. Really? They gave us an extra and we did it ourselves having a hard time not spilling broth everywhere. There's not many good options on the east side of the valley unless you're into very over processed fake vegan food! Green Lotus is one of the BEST places to get food as. Vegan in the Gilbert / Mesa area. It is a hidden gem because they lack of advertisement, however the food is always delicious. I craved it and ordered it for a solids 6 months lol. There is a bit of a language barrier and things can get confusing ( which is think was the problem w people had in previous and reviews ) however that's no one's fault and people should have more empathy for those who are trying. If you're vegan DO NOT order this restaurant on UberEats, they apparently have 3 different kitchens/restaurants but do not specify on the phone app. I have ordered from this restaurant on Grubhub multiple times with no issue. But there is a technological flaw, and miscommunication between Uber Eats and this restaurant. I ordered a wonton soup (which I have had a vegan version of at different restaurants before so I didn't question it). When checking out the title even says Vegan Green Lotus, as attached for the picture. So now I am here, puking, because I haven't eaten meat in over 4 years. I wanted to leave this review because I do not want any more vegetarians/vegans/anyone who doesn't want meat or animal products on their plate have to go through thisas well. It's just heartbreaking that a restaurant with the word "Vegan" in its name could make such a grave mistake especially during the corona virus going on. I wanted to eat here as a break to support a small business and have a distraction from the chaos going on. Bad online order pick up experience. The man at the counter tried to send me somewhere else to pick up my food and when I was visibly confused he told me to wait and walked away. He asked me twice what was on my order and what website I ordered from. It seemed that me telling him about my order was the first he'd heard of it. I can forgive having a bad experience in the restaurant if the food is worth it but this food was downright inedible. When we finally got home and tried the food it was so disgusting I literally spit it out. We tried to fix it by adding some stuff for flavor even cooking certain things more but it was pointless. I ordered on seamless(grubhub) as I have before and I live in tempe so I pay 10 dollar delivery fee plus ¹ plus in tip, tonight it took an hour and 20 minutes, that's ok. But when it got here my curry was missing, I called the driver then the restaurant and the lady at the restaurant said she forgot to pack it and asked what she could do. I asked that she send my curry for free and she said she'd only refund it.
