The food here was decent and the atmosphere was fine, but unfortunately our experience was soured by the service. According to our receipt, our server's name was Joseph. While he seemed polite to our faces, we later overheard him talking and laughing about us behind our backs, which was incredibly unprofessional and disappointing. On top of that, the service itself was lacking. We never once received water refills, every glass at our table sat empty, even the ice. We also had to ask for our check after waiting, and at one point our server was literally sitting in the corner ignoring us. We tried flagging him down, but he just stared until another server told him to go over. When he finally came to clear our plates, I had to quickly ask for dessert before he scurried off again. The other servers we observed seemed much more attentive and friendly, so perhaps we just had bad luck. But the way we were treated left a really bad impression, and unfortunately it overshadowed what could have been a much better dining experience.

Ambiance is 10 on 10. It's spa like, very elegant and soothing. Both indoor and patio are very well maintained and calming. We ordered veggie spring rolls, pad Kee mow and basil fried rice. Everything tasted so good with great service. All they miss is a massage room ;) will definitely add this to my regular list

Best Father's Day restaurant experience ever! Thai Emerald delivered on all 3 of my key eating requirements: food quality; value; and overall enjoyment. I give extra bonus points for the deliciousness and authenticity. I had the Green Curry Grouper with a "hot" level of spiciness. About the equivalent of a fresh grilled jalapeño eaten straight. Been there - and so glad we Thai'd that! Our realtor recommended we try Thai Emerald and I am so glad we listened. Thai Emerald is the cutest little spot, both intimate and welcoming. There is an amazing little patio adorned with string lights. I am a sucker for some string lights. We ordered take-out the first night we were staying in our new home right down the street. It made for the perfect first meal! We called to order and were quoted about 35 minutes. It ended up taking closer to an hour so we waited quite a bit after arriving. The food was breathtaking and well worth the wait. Thai is one of those cuisines that is on the pricier side and Thai Emerald is no exception. You get what you pay for, though, and this stuff is really divine! Money well spent I assure you! We ordered the following: Crab Rangoon ($7.95) Emerald Special ($21.95) Pad Thai - Shrimp ($18.95) Panang Curry - Tofu ($16.95) The crab rangoon were tasty. Not the sweetest of the ones I have had and ate a bit on the greasy side, but they were still good! The emerald special was awesome. I wanted to try both the pineapple fried rice and the cashew nut chicken so this was the perfect dish. It is a sweet dish (which I like) and really lovely. It is different from what you would normally get with the addition of the curry powder. The pad thai was out of this world. Hubs and I both agreed this is probably the best pad thai we have ever had. We got a bunch of things to share and ended up fighting over the pad thai. The panang curry was also delightful and served with steamed rice. I loved the texture and cook on the tofu and the flavor was just what I know and love about panang curry. We will get this over and over again. This is a great dish to warm your soul! We can't wait to visit Thai Emerald again soon. There are so many other dishes we want to try as we continue to order our favorites! So happy to have found our Thai spot so quickly!

My husband and I have been dining here for YEARS and we've never, ever had a bad meal at this restaurant. Excellent food, excellent service. Our families even request eating here when they come in to visit. The cashew chicken is awesome as are their spring rolls and cocounut/chicken soup. The coconut ice cream is also delicious (and I'm not a huge coconut fan. Yes, it's THAT good). My husband usually gets the spicy basil leaves and loves it. We've ventured out to try their specials here and there, but always return to our favorites and we've never been disappointed. read more

GREAT GREAT Food!! We ordered the cashew chicken, spicy basil beef, and special of the night - mango grouper. For appetizers we ordered the Tom Yum Koong (Spicy shrimp soup) and calamari. Calamari were different than other joints. Thicker breading but equally scrumptious. Soup is of average to other thai restaurants in the Atlanta area. We ordered our main dishes spicy and all were perfectly spiced without the peppers overpowering the dishes and flavors of each. My favorite would be the cashew chicken (chef's selected menu) and mango grouper. The cashew chicken was breaded and stir fried with the sauce and flavors are similar to General Tsos Chicken but with spice. Grouper mango was also breaded and stir fried in sauce. I love all the different peppers that gave just the right amount of spice. It was our second visit and can't wait to go back and try something new. read more

Very disappointing food and Thai is our favorite. The chicken in one of the dishes was so dry it was ridiculous. The Pad Thai lacked flavor and peanuts and the spring rolls had virtually nothing in them. What really got us was having to ask for one more container of sauce for the rolls and they acted like they were really giving us something. Spent $60 and adding one little dollop of sauce seem to be a big deal. Won't be back, sorry. Eating. Better Thai right now for much less money in little ole Marion IL, population 25000. read more

I love this place! The Thai Emerald Chicken is amazing. (I have to admit it's the only thing I get...yes, it's that good.) The basil rolls were light and fresh and the calamari is always a hit. The atmosphere is dark and intimate, but I've seen lots of families enjoy Thai Emerald. The service is always friendly and prompt. read more

My date and I went here last night and the food was incredible. I ordered the cashew chicken and shared a bit of my date's Prik Pao. Both had great flavor, right amount of spice, we left out with a smile. Service was delightful and helpful. The only thing I could even consider as a complaint, and it's not Emerald's fault, is the noise level can be a little loud, especially if kids are there, but really, not a big deal. I'll definitely be back. Repeating what a former review said, it's a fun, classy atmosphere with great Thai food. read more

Been eating here for over 10 years now. I have probably been a dozen times or so. Food is always excellent and service is always good, but the prices seem to have gotten steeper. The service seemed a bit slower than usual, but I went there on a Saturday night, so that's to be expected. I took one star off because the lighting was so dim Saturday night I almost wanted to take a nap on the table. Crank the lights up a little guys. read more

I had high hopes for this place, but it didn't deliver. It's a cute little restaurant with a lovely patio. Waitstaff was excellent. But the food - definitely not as good as other Thai joints in the area. Calamari was too chewy, and the breading wasn't light and crispy. Mussels were fairly tasty. I ordered the praram beef - didn't love it, although my sister did. Pad see ew was good. Green curry chicken could've used a little more flavor. I'd stick with Satay House for my Thai fix. read more

HOT TO TROT! We went to Thai Emerald yesterday b/c Shallots was closed due to a fire. Had never been and were pleasantly surpised! Not the easiest to pull into as it is on one side of 92 separated by a median, you can blow by it w/o noticing. Food can get a little pricey if you pick something expensive, but my wife and I went middle of the road and got out of there for @ $35. Service was prompt at peak dinner time, the owner cruises the tables to make sure everyone is happy, and asked if they had made my food hot enough. And did they ever! All dishes were obviously prepared using fresh ingredients and were served piping hot, they know how to cook w/ complex flavor profiles here, that much was apparent. Any dish can be requested w/ a level of spiciness, Hot and "Thai Hot" being the top of the spectrum. Beware of the Thai Hot! I had spicy shrimp soup, which was incredibly flavorfull and the shrimp were cooked pefectly, but the spice had my lips numb. Also had the Beef Nam Tok Salad, a personal favorite, they toned it down to Hot for me and it was excellent. My wife had the Pineapple Fried Rice w/ Chicken and I have to say, although the rice was a bit overdone, was amazingly flavorful, the showcase being the toasted cashews. I would love to find out how they get that flavor. She started w/ REAL CRAB rangoons and said they were great (I can't eat Crab, so I'll take her word for it). Mangia! read more

The food is still delicious and the service consistent; albeit straight faced and not overly friendly. I'm still disappointed by protein portions in the curry dishes, which are underwhelming. I was also let down to find out that the WIFI, which was once available to paying customers... is no longer. This is rough, especially if you have kids that don't eat Thai and like to while away their time on your mobile device. Thai Emerald is still (for now) our go to Thai restaurant in the area. read more

Chicago has some of the best restaurants in the country. And since I relocated from there to the Alpharetta area, I have not found the restaurants worthy of repeat business UNTIL NOW! The food here is fresh and flavorful! Trust me, although I can handle spicy hot food (I'm use to eating at Asian restaurants in Asian communities afterall...talk about spice), but even the non-spicey dishes have a mouthful of flavor! This was the first time I could taste the crab in a crab Rangoon! The basil tilapia was very tasty, although it would be better with Sole fish:)! Thank you Emerald Thai! I eat takeout lunch from here at least once a week, and I am never disappointed. The food is consistent and delicious and the service is always courteous and if I'm dining in, fast. I often order the Massaman curry, it is very good and one of my favorites! The soups are also great, the Tom Yum and Tom Kha soups are both delicious and fresh and I highly recommend. They will also substitute the Tom Kha with tofu and it's a favorite of mine. I also have eaten the Praram lunch special with tofu and it comes with lots of mixed veggies that are crisp and fresh. Good food, good service, this is a solid spot for Thai in Roswell! read more

We've tried every Thai place in Roswell except this because this little gem is so wonderfully tucked away. We're so glad we finally gave it a try. The ambience was beautiful, the wait staff attentive, and the food was pretty good. The calamari appetizer was too battered for my preference but the red snapper was delicious as was the chicken coconut soup. We also loved how they play beautiful dinner music. read more

Favorite Thai in Atlanta!! And worth the drive if you are outside of Roswell. I went there last night and took my mother, who has rarely ever had Thai and my Godparents and it did not disappoint!! Mom and I split the Green Curry with Shrimp and the Three Flavor Salmon. Both were fabulous! Everything is very fresh and the flavors are really good. I highly recommend this restaurant! read more

Great thai. The crisp duck (day special) was fantastic like I didnt have in a long time. The only con was the appetizer sampler which came warm to cold. Other than that, the atmosphere, service and food are a true thai experience. Best in roswell, only second to nan thai in atlanta and surroundings. read more

My fiance is not nearly as adventurous with food as I am, but I can occasionally drag him to a spot if the mood suits. I was introduced to this restaurant by a friend, and found their food authentic and delicious--I'm especially a fan of their hot-pots for soup, which may also appeal to their inner pyromaniac in me ("ooh look, fire!") I've been known to dine in or stop by to get take-out... I swear their Tom Yum Kha has healing powers when you're under the weather. This latest visit, my fiance decided to get their Penang Salmon, and loved it! Believe me, he's a hard sell! I was thrilled, and now know I might be able to convince him to join me for Thai more often, at Thai Emerald. ...My mouth's watering just thinking of their Green Curry. read more

My favorite Thai restaurant. My personal menu favorites are the cashew nut chicken (medium spice) and masaman curry (hot spice). Both are fantastic and both soups offered delicious as well. The staff is always kind and the service is fast. Perfect for families as well. Always a joy to eat there. read more

Darn, I guess the most stars I can give is 5 ....... it deserves more than that! Every moughful of every (3 people) dish was perfect. I am extremely allergic to chilis and peppers ....... and the owners/chef acomodated me. I had grouper in tamarind sauce (yummy!) that was one of the best preparations of this fish I've ever had. My companions had no problem with their (moderately) spicy dishes; duck and shrimp. You must try the mango ice cream for desert ....... but be advised there are 3 scoops in each of their ice cream dishes. Enjoy! read more

This was our first experience at Thai emerald and I am sorry to say it was not a pleasant experience.we were sitting there for 5-10 minutes before a waiter came to take us drinks order. Ask a waiter who was around and answer was that was not his table. I don't think I will be repeat customer. Food was OK but nothing much to brag about. Thai House is a better option than this. read more

We have been here a number of times. The daily specials are usually very good. The cashew chicken is quite tasty, even if I doubt it is authentic Thai and not Americanized. The service is always excellent and the outdoor seating area is quite pleasant. Although there may be better Thai restaurants in downtown Atlanta (and there is one in Memphis that is out of this world), this is a delightful spot and does not disappoint. read more

Thai Emerald is easily our favorite restaurant. We have been dining here for several years and have yet to find another restaurant that comes even close to competing. This restaurant is meticulously clean, and the quality and flavor of the food is unparalleled. We enjoy eating here as a family with children, as well as romantic date nights. My husband has also brought colleagues for business meals and made repeat customers of them. Any out-of-town visitors we have brought have said that it is the best Thai they have ever had....and we wholeheartedly agree. Mere words are not adequate to describe the richly nuanced flavors of the dishes here. We have so many favorites that it is often difficult to choose. My top 3 picks are Thai Beef Salad, Pad Thai, and the Coconut Chicken Soup. My husband's clear top choice is Cashew Nut Chicken, followed closely by Prik Pao. You must punctuate your meal with Mango Sticky Rice or the Flaming Ice Cream which comes with a strawberry sauce that is simply divine. If you are looking for a tantalizing meal in a spotless environment then you should try Thai Emerald...your only regret will be that you didn't discover it sooner! read more

She did like her soup and she also ordered the lobster and smoked Gouda ravioli for her entrée. She had no complaints considering she bagged the food up to go and wanted to finish it right there, but she couldn't. Lol. I ordered the twin seared chicken, which is actually half a chicken pan seared. My chicken was so delicious! It was tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection to where it was fall off the bone. Just how I like it! The rice and the green beans paired well with it. My rice was cooked well, meaning it was not mushy or hard. And my green beans were a great consistency as well. My little one had a chicken tender salad since she loves cucumbers, onions, tomatoes, pretty much anything that comes in a salad that's not the lettuce. Lol. I must say I was impressed by the size of the salad because it was huge for a child. It would be great as a size salad for an adult. The chicken tenders were an amazing size, bigger than what most restaurants would give especially for a child's plate. I was highly impressed by the size of the portions for the children because the price is pretty standard for a kids meal entrée in comparison to other restaurants that give less. Our service was awesome! I wouldn't expect anything less considering the ambience of the restaurant. Our server was attentive, and he even bagged up both of our meals for us. During covid they removed the patio, so there is actually no outdoor seating anymore. I think that's why I most find myself not going there - is the dining and bar areas aren't super to my liking, I like bright and airy feeling venues. But they do have some live music and specials every day during the week that do make it appealing to be here different days otherwise which is brilliant marketing.
