Spicy Tuna Roll and Classic Tuna Roll
    Cassidy H.

Decided to try a "new to me" sushi place for dinner with my husband this evening. The food was great, the service was great, the ambiance was great. Mika Sushi really deserves the 5/5 stars. For an appetizer my husband and I both tried the Miso Soup: the soup had a good taste and came to the table nice and hot. For entrees my husband ordered the Classic Tuna Roll and Spicy Tuna Roll. I personally didn't try either of these but his rating was 4 stars out of 5. I had the Signature Happy Roll. It was soooo good. I love a roll with mango in it, and this roll hit the spot! I give the Happy roll a 5/5. We both shared the Classic Spicy Bay Scallop Roll as well. This one was tough to rate because I didn't like the texture. My husband was not a big fan of the taste or texture either. He gave the rating of 3/5 for this roll. Overall, we will most likely be back to try a few other hand rolls in the future. The staff were extremely kind and checked in regularly. The establishment was kept clean and had a good feeling to it.

We came here on a Saturday and it was very quiet inside around 6pm The staff were all friendly & service was quick. They had a steady flow of takeout orders and only a few dine in but it's nice inside. Dark and modern decor We got the salmon belly hand roll, fancy uni hand roll, sashimi platter, spicy snow crab & spicy scallop rolls This was the perfect amount for 2 people The sashimi came with quite a few varying cuts and we were pleasantly surprised to see sea bream! I enjoyed the yellow tail belly & escolar & my husband favored the salmon & smoky sea bream The spicy scallop was good, the snow crab has crunch or something in it - both are spicier than expected! The salmon hand roll was good, smooth salmon. However the uni was super briny, like I didn't like it at all and we've had uni many times in the US and in Japan! I'm not sure what was going on with this one but at $22, I'd never order this again. The sashimi pieces are big and presentation was nice though This is a great option for east Cobb but if I'm in the mood to travel, I'd still choose chirori or shoya It's in a shopping center so plenty of parking available. It's not a huge restaurant but we didn't see all of the seating options so might have room for a party in the back

We had driven by several times and gave it a go this evening. I would sum it as an average spot. The service was outstanding as were the appetizer. The edamame was hot with just the right amount of salt. The vegetable tempura had a light, crisp batter and the dipping sauce was a great accompaniment. We ordered a variety of nigiri and rolls. the lack some freshness fish wise and weren't overly flavorful.

This was the best casual sushi spot I've had in a while! I ordered 3 hand rolls (tuna, salmon avocado, & shrimp tempura) and was STUFFED. For $8 a roll, you definitely get your moneys worth, the hand rolls are huge and packed with fish. We also ordered a chicken fried rice and the portion for it was great for the price! We even had enough to take home. The staff was so kind and attentive I'll definitely be back soon!

I have enjoyed eating here the food is very good the customer service has always been very good I really like the sushi I'm always excited to try something different in the menu because I know it's going to be good

The way we have been waiting months for this place to open! This likely will become a go to lunch spot for us, or a evening bites because of location and menu style. The staff are super welcoming and ready to answer any and all questions, especially since they are so new. Their menu is split up for sushi, small bites, and sandwiches. We ordered the classic catch sushi combo box, 2 miso soups, salmon crispy rice, and a spicy chicken katsu sandwich. The spicy tuna here is probably one of the best spicy tunas I've ever had, both my boyfriend and I were pleasantly surprised. The katsu sandwich had a soft bread, which with the combo of the crispy chicken was exactly what we needed, and crinkle fries on the side to finish off the perfect dish. The only thing we were both mutually disappointed with was the miso, it lacked the Miso flavor, so if I could change anything I would probably not order that next time. I know I will be coming back many times, hopefully I will see you there!

I loved this little place. I wish I had taken pictures now. Next time - for sure! We tried the Classic Catch, the Joe's Wagyu burger and the Tuna crispy rice. Loved everything. The Sushi was fresh and tasty. Loved the spicy tuna it was my favorite. The burger was cooked to perfection' The best thing I ate was the Tuna Crispy Rice. I will definitely get that next time. The place is clean with an inviting atmosphere. The staff was helpful for ordering and friendly.

This place is one of those hidden gems that nobody knows is there. I have been here couple of times. The Shiso Salmon was fresh and scrumptious, and they have the best fried rice. My favorite dish is Hamchi Karma, your'll be pleased with the friendly and prompt services . Highly recommended.

The low lighting was wonderful for my sensitive eyes. The smell was clean, but not too strong. They were open late, which was wonderful for me and my friends, for we were craving ramen at around 9:30. After we were seated, the service was quick (but that could be due to the late hours.) The first server seemed a bit quiet, but like a wonderful person. Our second server was no doubt one of the sweetest people I have ever met. We had a wonderful conversation about how the small restaurants are always wonderful. She was radiating positive but gentle vibes, so I felt my nerves slip away. By her, I was informed that the owner was usually in (most likely he wasn't there then because of the hour), which only proved that this food had and will always be cooked with love. And after my friends mentioned I was writing a review, she was eager to hear it. At the time it was just notes I took, but she was so pleased and that entire night I received so much praise. I had ordered the strawberry ramune, in which I was most shocked at how it tasted like true strawberry. But the lychee...it was on a whole other level. I had never had anything lychee flavored, but I felt as if I was soaring in the sky and diving in the deepest ocean. Then for starters we had edamame and pork gyoza. The edamame was well salted, and I had found usually edamame is either too salted, or not salted enough, but this edamame stayed in the sweet middle and tasted like it was straight from the Earth itself. The gyoza is most wonderfully cooked, and it feels as if I was floating upon the clouds, looking down on the world. The flavors were subtle, but so delicious. I got the spicy noodles, (but I have forgotten the name), The noodles are creamy, and I can only describe this feeling close akin to an enchanted forest. The pork was meaty, and the fat is easy to seperate if you are not for the fatty part. But then...the broth. In an instant I am shocked, frozen in pure awe at the flavors that danced in my tongue, and that most wonderful burn of spice, no doubt, they knew how to use spices perfectly. Overall, the ramen felt like what one would call a home, warm and comforting, as the tastes embrace you with open arms. With the atmosphere and taste combined (as well as the wonderful Japanese music that played), I felt transported to my own world, one without the stress of life and worries of future. Just great food, and a smile on your face. Wonderful, absolutely wonderful. No doubt deserves praise, and it almost makes me sad how unnoticed this hidden gem is. The noodles would soak in the flavora of spice so perfectly, I found myself addicted. For a desert, we ordered strawberry and mango mochis. The wonderful server brought us multiple, because she knew what our stomachs -satisfied, but not full- craved. The Strawberry mochi was wonderful, and tastes refreshingly authentic. And it felt as if I was just a slight cloud which reflected a rainbow. And now, the mango mochi. I'm not a mango person, but this tasted like no less than a sunset, with the beauty, the feeling, the overall bliss. I leave with the most wonderful taste in my mouth, and an undeniable want for more. I must thank all of the workers who made this place so special, for this is the first time I've had proper ramen, and this was no doubt the best provider for that satisfying first bite.

The menu had a cool variety of flavors, from truffle fries to sushi/sashimi to seafood towers to tacos. It all looked amazing! We decided on small bites with the parmesan truffle fries, a dragon roll, and the bonsai brussel sprouts (no bacon for me, thank you!). Our server was super friendly and helpful in deciding. It's a small restaurant but the nostalgia of the interior cannot be denied. And it turned out some of the staff are from Hawaii too so it just adds to the warm, friendly atmosphere you can expect from a place like this. As for the food, just as good and impressive. My dad and I had their chirashi or rice with different seafood varieties and my mom had one of their teishoku or combination plates. They said it's a sushi restaurant but I guarantee they have more than that at Tanaka. If you decide to try it, which I recommend you do, call and make a reservation because unfortunately you can't do it online and it's a small restaurant so it's better to call ahead of time anyway. Once you try this terrific restaurant, it's worth it!

There are so many thoughtful little details in the décor that make it feel special. Every server and staff member was genuinely kind and impressively hospitable, offering a level of service that honestly surpasses some higher-end restaurants I've been to. Now, the food. Their ginger salad might be the best I've ever had. They use romaine and green leaf lettuce instead of the typical iceberg, which gives it far more flavor and texture. The dressing was smooth and creamy--not broken, watery, or overly acidic like so many ginger dressings tend to be. The miso soup also had more depth of flavor than most versions I've tried. A bonus surprise: they have more lunch options than what's listed online, and the in-person prices are actually cheaper. So don't rely on the website--come in and look for yourself. I ordered the chicken teriyaki and sushi roll combo. They offer a generous selection of rolls to choose from, and I went with the Alaskan roll. The filling was plentiful and well-balanced. The rice on the outside was slightly thin in a few bites where the seaweed peeked through, but the overall flavor was excellent. The chicken teriyaki was outstanding--juicy, tender, perfectly seared, and full of rich teriyaki flavor. I also appreciated the unexpected cold bean sprout salad on the side, which added a nice contrast to the meal. Overall, this was a wonderful lunch at a very fair price--only $15. I'd happily return and highly recommend stopping in rather than making assumptions based on appearances or online listings.
