Tempura appetizer served hot!!!

Really great tempura appetizers. I'm waiting on my sushi. The ginger dressing on the salad was great! Overall, great sushi and dinner. I forgot to take pictures of the rest of the food!

Dynamite Roll Teenager Roll Crunch Roll

They're currently running a grand opening deal with 30% off their hibachi and 20% their sushi. However, you cannot combine the two deals. It's one or the other. We ordered the dynamite roll, teenager roll, crunch roll, and a steak and shrimp hibachi entree. Dynamite roll: $10 --- $8 -fried spicy tuna + avocado roll - Had a lot of filling! - Decent flavor. Could probably use a bit more salt but not bad overall. - Supposed to be deep fried but it wasn't super crunchy. -pretty decent sized pieces 7/10 Teenager Roll: $13 --- $10.40 -salmon, yellowtail, avocado roll - I liked the mango sauce they drizzled on top! - lots of fish and thin layer of rice - could probably have more flavor - sushi pieces were on the smaller size 5/10 Crunch Roll: $9 --- $7.20 - shrimp tempura + avocado - I really liked the texture of this one. Nice and crunchy - good flavor! - large pieces of sushi 8/10 Steak & Shrimp Hibachi Express: $11.99 - the steak and shrimp had very good flavor! Well marinated - steak cut a bit small for bite size chunks - shrimp was cooked perfectly! Not over cooked - fried rice was a bit lacking. - the side of veggies it came with had good flavor too. - this dish overall had good flavor but it didn't have as much meat as I would like and it was somewhat lukewarm when it came out. 7/10 Overall Tokyo Boat isn't a bad spot for some sushi! They've been around for years and I'm just now getting a chance to try their food! I think I'll go again to satisfy any sushi cravings :)

All you can eat sushi

Great food! No longer a buffet, but All You Can Eat, made to order sushi. The selection is pretty good, the food delicious and the price for lunch is reasonable.

It was very good food & atmosphere. The server was fun & the grill master was very entertaining.

Mountain Roll and Shrimp Tempura roll

Sushi not that great even for the price. The rolls were both pretty small and the mountain roll was really skinny and had mostly rice in it. And the taste was meh nothing special here.

This is a good restaurant but their location is killing new business. I visited on a Saturday evening & no other customers were there. Do people not like the food? Or are they unable to locate it? Not sure which one applies. First on site the interior is beautiful. There are a lot of place settings at tables & at the sushi bar. I then glanced at their menu & see why no one is there. The prices are sky high! Don't get me wrong, hibachi is expensive but should not be ridiculously priced. I understand those are dinner prices too but when you're competing with 20+ other local restaurants, you need to think of your consumer. I decided on the teriyaki Salmon. Soon after they brought out salad & soup. Everyone knows I don't touch iceberg lettuce and the dressing looked & smelled suspect. Not sure what was going on there. The miso soup was ok. Then it was time for the entree. I was counting on them to screw it up but was pleasantly surprised. The salmon came out piping hot & literally sizzling. I've never been to a spot to bring out salmon that fresh! I was impressed. Although the salmon was mildly overcooked it was enjoyable with the white rice. I'm glad I gave these guys a chance. I will most def be back with the rest of the crew as we film in Roswell this week.

Delicious!

I was there early and got served really fast! This is my third time going there and the food is delicious. My usual order is Hibachi Salmon with steamed rice and veggies. I also ordered the veggie tempura, also yummy. They also have some Korean and Japanese dishes that I want to try next time. When I ordered the green tea, it came in a teapot so I was pleasantly surprised. Delish.

You probably know places like these are generally good finds. :-) No exception here. It's kind of wild what they can do in their tiny kitchen. Aside from sushi, you can get stuff like hibachi, noodles, etc. I went with several rolls and vegetable tempura. Everything was good though not notably exceptional. However, the real gem here is the price point ... which hit as *reasonable* by today's inflation standards. Interior dining space only ... and that isn't much to speak of, but it's functional and holds the stream of customers they get. It seems like they do a lot of carryout orders. Anyway, it's a spot worth checking out if you haven't been.

It's a small restaurant but the nostalgia of the interior cannot be denied. And it turned out some of the staff are from Hawaii too so it just adds to the warm, friendly atmosphere you can expect from a place like this. As for the food, just as good and impressive. My dad and I had their chirashi or rice with different seafood varieties and my mom had one of their teishoku or combination plates. They said it's a sushi restaurant but I guarantee they have more than that at Tanaka. If you decide to try it, which I recommend you do, call and make a reservation because unfortunately you can't do it online and it's a small restaurant so it's better to call ahead of time anyway. Once you try this terrific restaurant, it's worth it!

There are so many thoughtful little details in the décor that make it feel special. Every server and staff member was genuinely kind and impressively hospitable, offering a level of service that honestly surpasses some higher-end restaurants I've been to. Now, the food. Their ginger salad might be the best I've ever had. They use romaine and green leaf lettuce instead of the typical iceberg, which gives it far more flavor and texture. The dressing was smooth and creamy--not broken, watery, or overly acidic like so many ginger dressings tend to be. The miso soup also had more depth of flavor than most versions I've tried. A bonus surprise: they have more lunch options than what's listed online, and the in-person prices are actually cheaper. So don't rely on the website--come in and look for yourself. I ordered the chicken teriyaki and sushi roll combo. They offer a generous selection of rolls to choose from, and I went with the Alaskan roll. The filling was plentiful and well-balanced. The rice on the outside was slightly thin in a few bites where the seaweed peeked through, but the overall flavor was excellent. The chicken teriyaki was outstanding--juicy, tender, perfectly seared, and full of rich teriyaki flavor. I also appreciated the unexpected cold bean sprout salad on the side, which added a nice contrast to the meal. Overall, this was a wonderful lunch at a very fair price--only $15. I'd happily return and highly recommend stopping in rather than making assumptions based on appearances or online listings.

I've had their braised spicy beef noodle soup, salt and pepper tofu, mini juicy buns, and Szechuan style Wonton and they were all amazing. They also have a whole sushi and lunch section, but I haven't tried them yet. My friend got the Szechuan spicy beef and the portion size was comically large. I view that as a good thing but it also confused me because I don't see how anyone could eat even close to that much so I'm wondering if it is expected to be eaten differently than I am assuming. Not only was it a lot of food, it was also quite spicy so you'd have to be a tank to finish it. I gave this a lower score originally because of a bad health inspection, but they fixed it so I'm bringing it up to 5 stars. This is what I originally wrote: I really want to rate this place 5 stars based on my experience. Unfortunately, I must inform you that they received a 51/100 health inspection score yesterday (2/18/2026), so imma leave it at 3 for now and hopefully update once they fix that problem. It was on a routine inspection too. I've worked in a few restaurants that have had that sort of visit and we always knew long beforehand, so we'd use the few days prior to make things look perfect for the inspection, and then the kitchen would fall back to their usual lower sanitary conditions afterwards. I can't even imagine how a restaurant gets a 51 from a routine inspection. It implies that the regular conditions are bad and the management is ineffective or that the regular conditions are so awful that the preparatory cleaning wasn't enough. I think a grade of U forces them to have a follow up visit sometime soon that determines if they can even stay in business. So hopefully I get to update this quickly.
