    C10. Chicken with Garlic Sauce
    Wayne Z.

Honestly a 3.5 star experience but I'm rounding up for excellent service. Came in for lunch on a Saturday with a friend and the place wasn't busy, maybe 3-4 other tables. Service was prompt and friendly, servers came over multiple times and helped answer questions. Food came out incredibly quick as well so kitchen was clearly all over it. Food wise, 4 star on dumplings and dim sum type offerings and 3 star on cooked items. We ordered the xiao long bao, pork and leek dumplings, szechuan style dumplings with peanut sauce and scallion pancakes. XLB were very good with a ton of soup inside but tbh they're far bigger than traditional ones are supposed to be, skin thicker also. Liked the dumplings also. Didn't love the szechuan style dumplings, didn't taste bad but just never seen it done with peanut sauce and it was an odd flavor mix. Scallion pancakes were tasty enough but way too greasy, not sure exactly how it was prepared. We also ordered the mapo tofu and chicken in garlic sauce. Chicken was fine, pretty tasty. I didn't care for the mapo tofu however, the biggest issue for me was the fact they're using firm tofu, when it should be soft/silky and practically falling apart. I'd give this place another shot for sure, esp since it's so close.

Service very attentive and the steamed pork and cabbage dumplings were morsels of delicacies! Loved the dumplings I had for lunch. This strip mall restaurant did a beautiful job of decorating the dining room with the beauty of Asian simplicity and chi! You could really feel the calming energy while enjoying your lunch, so I highly rate the ambiance of the dining room. The only negative were the lo mein noodles at the beginning of the meal had no flavor or satisfying crisp even with the wonderful sauce provided. I would pass on that. But the dumplings. Yes they are heavenly! I look forward to trying this place again.

    S3. Egg Drop Soup

I really wanted to like this place, but it was just average. They have an extensive menu, I ended up getting the egg drop soup, the sushi vegetarian combo and the braised tofu with vegetables. The egg drop soup was very thick and just average tasting, the sushi felt like it was maybe old or stale, and they were extremely small. The tofu felt like it was drenched in really heavy sauce. Overall the flavors did not impress me. none of it was bad necessarily, but it wasn't something that would make me want to come back. The service was very quick, but almost too quick to the point where I was concerned on whether the food was fresh or premade. I did appreciate the seaweed appetizer and how they bring fresh orange at the end.

    8 Piece Shrimp Tempura Maki

I walked into Dumpling Garden expecting that promised "harmonious blend" of Chinese richness, Sichuan fire, and Japanese refinement. What I got was a very civilized, mid-afternoon truce between three distinct flavor profiles. The space itself is medium-sized and serviceable--plenty of seating, no significant wait, which is always appreciated in this fast-paced life. As you sit down they hit the table with complimentary wonton strips. Look, it's a gesture, and I respect the effort. But if you're going to put fried starch on my table, it needs to have some kind of flavor profile beyond "fried." They were polite but ultimately forgettable. Next, the Shrimp Tempura Maki. It's hard to truly mess up a basic roll, and they didn't. It was structurally sound. The ingredients were present: tempura, avocado, cucumber, tobiko. It performed its function as sushi, but it certainly wasn't a destination dish. It's the kind of sushi you eat when you're really just there for the company. Just okay. For my main I opted for the Working Lunch Combo to maximize my sampling opportunity: fried rice, black pepper beef, and orange chicken, plus an extra side of mixed veggies. The black pepper beef had the required pepper, but that's about it. The orange chicken was sweet, yes, but lacked the vibrant zest or savory counterpoint that separates great orange chicken from the assembly line version. Even with the extra side of veggies, the entire plate settled firmly in the realm of "perfectly adequate." There was no spark, no moment where I thought, "I need to come back here and bring my friends." The best part of the entire meal, ironically, wasn't the food I paid for, but the complimentary fresh oranges they bring out at the end. That bright, clean sweetness as a palate cleanser? That actually accomplished what the wonton strips failed to do--it left a lasting, positive impression. It was the restaurant's way of saying, "Thanks for coming," and it worked. Ultimately, Dumpling Garden delivered efficiency, but excellence remained just outside the perimeter. I don't feel the pull to return and explore the rest of the menu. It's a perfectly functional spot, but it simply didn't move the needle for me.

Tried newly opened Dumpling Garden and Sushi tonight. Nice bright clean decor with very warm and friendly service. Not surprisingly the dining room was quite busy but the place is well staffed. Menu selections include a wonderful selection of Northern style dumplings, bao buns, and noodles. They also have a wide selection of standard Chinese restaurant fare in addition to Szechuan hot and spicy dishes, a full selection of handmade sushi, and Boba Bubble Tea! The homemade pan fried pork and cabbage dumplings were very good as were the beef flat noodles with very tender beef slices. Sweet and Sour Pork was also quite good (not pictured), Salt and Pepper Pork Chops (tender but lacked depth of flavor), and Chicken Chow Mein for some veggies in the mix. The chicken Chow mein was rather bland and runny and will not be ordered again considering how disappointing it was. Service was very friendly and even had kids chopsticks for the little ones. Menu prices were on the high side for the dumplings, bao buns, and soups while the entrees were priced on par with others. Definitely worth repeat visits for dumplings and noodles especially. 4 is for friendliness, service, and clean and modern looks. Food ranges 2 to 4, 2 for the chicken chow mein, 3 for the salt and pepper pork chops, and 4 for the dumplings, beef flat noodles, and sweet and sour pork.

This is the small S2. Hot & Sour Soup... think of a bowl as big as one of the orange work buckets. Huge!

Amazing! Amazing! Amazing! I came in around lunch time and was blown away at the menu, the customer service, and the food I ordered. Most of the time, I avoid restaurants that meld together several Asian cuisines. The cuisines are miles apart (pun intended) and as uncultured Americans, most of don't know the difference. I had to order some dumplings and wontons. I am a big fan of sushi but I didn't journey into that part of the menu. The water glass was stunning and I thought it was going to be good going forward. Spoiler alert, it was. I ordered hot and sour soup, steamed chicken and mushroom dumplings, and peanut sauce wontons. All three items very very good. The wait staff were spot on and the interior is beautiful. I spoke with the cashier as I was leaving and she shared they had been open for two weeks. I can't wait to go back!

I was very excited to try this newly renovated restaurant that used to be Buddha's Delight. Upon entering, I was shocked how much nicer it looks now. Much cleaner and brighter and more open than it was before. However, the theme of the night was the slowness of service. First off, there was no one to greet us upon entering. We saw a line and assumed it was to sit. Thankfully someone at the back of the line mentioned that the line was for to-go orders. So we walked to the front. Not sure we would've been seated otherwise. Next, it took probably 10 minutes for someone to greet us at our table and give us our menus. While we were waiting for the waiter to return to take our orders, we could hear the conversation at the table next to us. The were very unhappy with the speed of their service and some mistakes that were made. I overheard that they spent over an hour and a half there. I thought that was probably an exaggeration. However, by the end of the night, I realized we had been there for just as long. Most of the time was spent...you guessed it...waiting. It took an extremely long time to get our food. No one came to check on us or apologize for the long wait. Luckily we had ways to entertain ourselves. I'm hoping that they figure out a way to speed up their service. They seemed a bit understaffed. The food itself was mostly good. The pork and shrimp juicy buns were ok. We didn't get the large spoons that you normally use for soup dumplings, and instead we had to use our normal spoons. I did like the Braised Spicy Beef Noodle Soup. I thought it was very flavorful, the right temperature, and tasted authentic. The Home Style Tofu with Pork was another one of our favorites. Unfortunately, the Sauteed String Beans fell short of expectations. This is usually one of our favorite dishes. However, the dish here tasted bland and felt like it was missing an ingredient. We ended up leaving most of it untouched and took it home with us to add some seasoning and flavor to re-eat. Overall, I like the look and feel of the newly opened restaurant. The food was mostly good with the exception of the String Beans. The speed of service is what's lacking here and what needs immediate attention. I'm not sure I have the patience to wait that long. If I return, I might have to go the take-out route. I do hope they address that issue because it would be nice to see them succeed.

Met my dad for lunch. I've been wanting to try this place for a bit since they opened so I was happy he picked this place. I didn't know what to expect from the reviews I've read, but had an open mind. We ordered the pork soup dumplings, black fungus (wood ear mushroom) salad, spare ribs, and pan fried pork dumplings . Everything was delicious. The dumplings were surprisingly big, juicy, flavorful. No complaints! The interior was minimally decorated, but cute and clean. I will definitely be back!

Flounder fish but we requested no spice

MR says ...Next time, I'm planning to explore their sushi menu--especially the sashimi and rolls. Looking forward to seeing how those measure up! MRS says ...We were curious to try Dumpling Garden, especially since we've been to Handmade Dumpling on Johnson Ferry and wanted to see how this spot compares. First up, the "sausage" fried rice caught my eye--I was hoping for Chinese sausage, but it turned out to be more of a hotdog-style Vienna sausage. A bit of a letdown, but the fried rice itself had that smoky, charred wok flavor I love, which definitely made up for it. As for the dumplings, I'll let the kids be the real critics--they're the true dumpling enthusiasts in the family. They had their opinions ready! We also tried the Sichuan fish fillet, which ended up being a bit underwhelming. To be fair, we ordered it without spice, and that might've dulled the flavor. The kids were expecting something more like the bamboo fish from Wei or Tasty China, so it didn't quite hit the mark for them. On the bright side, I really enjoyed the mixed mala vegetables, especially when I discovered tofu skin sheets in the mix--one of my favorites! All in all, Dumpling Garden might just become our go-to dumpling spot nearby. It's not perfect, but it's definitely worth exploring further. KIDS say .... One thing that sets Dumpling Garden apart from Handmade Dumpling is their soup dumplings--yes, they serve xiao long bao! These juicy, flavorful bites add something special to their menu and give them an edge if you're a fan of that classic, brothy dumpling experience.

8 Piece Shrimp Shumai Tastes home made - not frozen store bought and just steamed. Pretty good for the Marietta area

Can only review based on my take out order experience. The food was good, it's good for the local area and fills the fix somewhat, instead of making the drive to the chamblee area for a dim sum restaurant. It has my 2 staples for what I tend to always get at a dim sum restaurant. It tastes made in restaurant and not frozen store bought dumplings. I like it, and would try other menu items the next time I try them out again.
