Asian Wok opened its doors in early May in Kennesaw, and I'm already looking forward to going back. It's always exciting to see more authentic Asian dining options coming to this part of town, and this place definitely made a strong first impression.
From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the older gentleman at the front counter. The restaurant itself is beautiful- clean, spacious, modern, and thoughtfully designed with really nice decor that makes the whole space feel airy, welcoming, and comfortable.
Our server, Jenny, was absolutely amazing. Friendly, attentive, warm, and genuinely helpful throughout the entire meal. She handled multiple tables so effortlessly and never missed a beat, always checking in with a smile and making sure our drinks stayed filled. Excellent service truly makes a difference, and she made our first visit even better.
We came as a party of three and ordered several dishes family-style so we could try a variety of things. The portions were generous, which I really appreciated. It's definitely the kind of place where everyone gets to share and sample a little bit of everything if you order it family style. Plus, we had leftovers to enjoy later!
Here's what stood out:
-Xiao Long Bao (Soup Dumplings)- These were adorable and flavorful. They are on the smaller side, but honestly, I love soup dumplings so much I probably could've eaten another order myself anyway. I especially loved the thinly sliced ginger served with the sauce which is always such a nice touch and combo I like.
-Ginger Scallion Lobster- This was the showstopper of our meal. Absolutely delicious and packed with flavor. It's definitely one of the pricier dishes on the menu, but completely worth it if you're a lobster lover. Perfect for sharing.
-Garlic Ribs- Our whole group really enjoyed these. The flavor was excellent, the fry and cook on them were perfect, and I really appreciated that they weren't dry at all. Super flavorful and definitely something I'd order again.
-Dry Galric Green Beans- SO good. I'm a huge veggie person and usually order snow pea leaves whenever I see them on a menu, but Asian Wok's green beans did not disappoint. Great portion size and packed with flavor.
-Beef Crispy Noodles- Another dish we usually get when we go to a Chinese restaurant and see it in the menu. Loaded with vegetables and protein, and they definitely were not stingy with the beef.
One thing that surprised me at first was the smaller bowls of rice since I'm used to larger portions when dining family-style. But honestly, the three bowls ended up being enough for our group, and we still had a little left over to take home.
The menu has so many options which I love. There's something for everyone. I also really liked their menu design. The photos and descriptions for each item were super helpful and made narrowing down what to order even harder because everything looked good.
They also offer some fun drink options like lemonades, teas, and specialty beverages. Unfortunately, several of the specialty drinks weren't available during our visit, but the menu selection looked great and I'll definitely be trying some next time. I did order the iced sweet green tea, and it was refreshing and delicious.
And if you enjoy a little heat, definitely ask for the chili oil. It added the perfect kick to every bite.
Another bonus: they offer lunch specials at really reasonable prices, which is awesome.
Overall, Asian Wok delivered flavorful food, generous portions, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Definitely a spot worth checking out, and I'm excited to return to try more dishes soon. read more
