The entrance will initially put you off because it is a long hallway with racks of food and supplies. Keep going and don't be afraid. Good food is waiting!!! The bulgogi was flavorful with the spicy sauce I was advised to dump on the dish. Full of veggies, squash, green onions, radish (?), and rice. Delicious! Omg the chicken wings were a favorite as the meat was tender and moist. The outside was crisp and perfectly seasoned. Could have made a meal of just the wings!!! My partner had the spicy pork which was amazing. I could have eaten that dish over and over. The sound and vibrations of the train were amazing. having dined at the first location of spring, we knew that the 2nd branch was a much more informal place, however, we were incredibly impressed with the quality of food and service. tldr; value is good, and service bats way above the price. get the makgeolli + mackerel + bingsu dining at 1pm on a Friday it was not busy at all. despite the time, we opted for a full meal. alongside, we enjoyed a kettle of the minhwa spirits makgeolli, which was incredibly fruity, bright, and creamy. as someone who mainly drinks bottled makgeolli, this was such a delight. we started with the gochujang yukhoe , a beef tartare served with perilla and seaweed to wrap. i found that the beef texture was very good, complimented by the crisp pear slices and cucumber strips, but the spiciness was indiscernible. we shared our mains as the grilled mackerel and short rib patty bibimbap. while all the vegetables in the bibimbap were well prepared, i found the rice to be on the wet side, which resulted in less scorched rice than i usually get when ordering dolsot bibimbap. however, the ingredients were very delicious and complimented by a well balanced sauce. the grilled mackerel was a HUGE standout - the preparation exposes all the flesh and gets a perfect char on the skin. The grilling was immaculate- the meat held together but was perfectly tender to be separated with chopsticks. a slightly spicy, vinegary green onion salad was the perfect compliment to the rich, fatty mackerel. i will be getting this next time we come in. finally, we ordered the bingsu, a airy, fluffy pile of melt-in-your-mouth sesame snow covering a slightly deeper flavored sesame ice cream, covered with a milky sesame cream. that may all sound like a lot, but it was well balanced with sweetness, savoriness, nuttiness, and a bit of bitterness. everything came out at the perfect timing, and service was excellent. in all of our interactions with staff, service was at the level of a place with a much higher price tag. from the menu explanations to the presentation of dishes, the bar is evidently high for training. For all our food, the price was a little more than $100 , which feels like a bargain for a 3 course meal + alcohol. read more

I ordered off of DoorDash with fairly low expectations. As a Korean, I've had all kinds of Korean food of varying authenticity and quality. Knowing who the chef is, my hopes were high but expectations low, especially since we are in Marietta. For real Korean food, you go to Duluth or Suwanee and there's no question about it. Even Buford doesn't count. To my surprise, this was a delivery order that far exceeded my expectations. Being in Marietta, I expected something that was overpriced and skimping in terms of quantity and quality. I've had many meals that lacked a simple side of rice and I certainly did not banchan to be included, but here we are. With the popularity of Korean food there are many Korean barbecue/street food restaurants all across the metro area now. However, spring second branch stands out in terms of value and quality. The leafy greens are fresh, the meat is nicely charred, and the banchan is safe and solid. highly recommend this jeyuk bokkeum. that said, the menu has extensive variety, which gives me some pause. However, the few dishes that I've tried are excellent. i'm amazed that Korean food like this exists in marietta. what a treat. read more

Came for dinner on a weekday! We were seating very quickly. Upon walking in, there are lots of Korean ingredients along the wall which was cool. There was paid lot parking but did not see any free parking spots. Our server was friendly and we ordered a seafood pancake, chicken kalguksu and tofu soup. There was also a selection on banchan given. The banchan was okay. I would say the pancake was very thick and crispy! But there was not a lot seafood inside and it was $17 for four pieces! Way way overpriced in my opinion. The kalguksu was salty and not soupy! It was very thick. It seemed like the noodles weren't washed properly and it had a flour coating on it. I'd been hearing great things about Spring 2nd Branch, so my partner and I stopped by on Saturday. The staff was friendly and seated us toward the center of the spacious dining room. The space isn't filled with traditional Korean décor. Instead, it has a humble, modern, almost minimal vibe. We ordered Haemul Pajeon ($17.99) for our appetizer. My main entree was the Jeyuk Bokkeum ($25.99), and my partner chose the Seolleongtang ($18.99). The Jeyuk Bokkeum (spicy stir-fried pork with lettuce wraps) was one of the better versions I've had in Atlanta. The sauce had great flavor (but it wasn't spicy), the pork was tender, and the fresh lettuce came with jalapeño and garlic slices that made each wrap taste delicious! I do wish the pork was coated in a spicier sauce though. The Seolleongtang (a milky ox-bone broth with somyeon noodles and beef) was creamy and comforting, with tender pieces of brisket and shank. The Haemul Pajeon (a seafood and veggie pancake) arrived when we were almost done with our main entrees, which we didn't mind. It was much thicker than other pajeons we've tried and packed with vegetables. The edges had a nice crunch. The dipping sauce was too salty, so we mostly enjoyed the pancake on its own. Overall, we liked Spring 2nd Branch. The prices are on par with the Korean restaurants in Duluth. Even though it's a bit of a drive for us, we'd consider coming back and trying more dishes the next time we're in Marietta. read more

Door dashed this place, didn't have a great experience from spring but gave this location a chance, it was extremely good and a huge portion only thing that stops it from being 5 stars is the fact they gave me 5 little pieces of chicken thighs. Probably the best chicken thighs I've ever had but there cheap so hook it up. Next time I'll probably pay for extra chicken. Give it a try, we will go in and eat and see if the portions may be bigger. read more

What a delightful experience! We had a great time trying out a bunch of shared dishes, and our waitress was so helpful in helping us order. Our favorite dish was the fried veggie scallion pancake, which was so flavorful and just perfect with the soy sauce they served it with. We also loved the sweet and sour wings and thought the stuffed fried peppers (they just took them off the menu apparently) were great but seemed so similar to something you'd see on the menu at a Mexican restaurant! The short rib patty bibimbap was alright - not the best we'd ever had, and despite the short rib being delicious, we wished the rice was a little crispier. It's a nice, big restaurant and despite the fact that they didn't offer reservations, we didn't have a problem getting a table on a Saturday night. They were playing K-pop videos on the TV by us, so we were highly entertained. Like everything in Marietta Square, parking is a nightmare, but just pay to park by the food hall and you'll be fine. read more

They have an amazing vegetarian mushroom tofu stew. I loved the banchan and the overall flavor of the soup. It had a really complex, comforting taste and I especially liked the consistency. We will definitely be coming back specifically for the tofu stew. This is something Marietta really needed since there are not many places where you can find good tofu options. Upon eating at the restaurant itself, my opinion of Spring 2nd Branch had only skyrocketed. Niya was an incredibly knowledgeable, sweet waitress who gave her genuine preferences when we asked what we should order. The vibes are really fun inside, especially for having just opened recently. This food is simply next level. The imported rice wine from Doraville is heavenly, and we were genuinely delighted at the quality of the imported drink options. But yall.... This place is EXPENSIVE. Be careful to tactfully share (as many of their menu items are meant for) or to go only for special cravings and occasions. My only gripe is that the table we were at was WAY too small for the quantity of people and the style of food here at Spring 2nd Branch. We all felt like we couldn't move, or we'd knock something over! lol. OH, YES- and my small secondary gripe continues- something about the way they prepare their green onions for stews makes them incredibly hard and chewy/inedible. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of food at Spring 2nd Branch! My husband and I have gone to the OG Spring , though not necessarily Korean food, but I was excited to have known that the chef opened a Korean spot. Walking thru the restaurant, it already gave such a vibe and added a cool spot for great food and drinks at the Square. I loved the decor and of course, have to have K-pop playing in the background. The hostess who sat us at our table asked if it was our first time dining there and explained the menu a little bit. It did take awhile for our actual server to come, and he again explained the menu to us, even though we were ready to order by the time he got there. For appetizer, we started with the buchujeon (chive pancake with veggies). This was a smaller, but thick pancake served with a really tasty soy dipping sauce. It was filled with chives and veggies - not sure exactly what the veggies were but there was definitely broccoli in the mix. For my entree, I ordered the Sogal Tteok Kimchi Mandu Guk (beef, pork and kimchi dumplings and rice cakes served in white ox bone broth). The broth was very, very rich and the beefy flavor from the ox was prominent. The kimchi juice from the dumplings helped balance out the broth flavor. I did not see any rice cakes in my soup though, which I was quite disappointed about because I love rice cakes. My soup also came with banchan, but I had to ask for it, instead of them bringing it automatically. My husband ordered the Bibim Naengmyeon (Cold buckwheat noodles served in a spicy fermented chili paste sauce and garnished with beef brisket & shank, Korean pear, cucumber, daikon pickle and hard boiled egg). The server asked if he wanted the noodles cut and while she did cut the noodles, we wished it was cut more since buckwheat noodles are really chewy. Well, I was super excited about giving 2nd Branch a try. My associate and I meet a business partner for lunch on the 16th. My impressions, given my previous visits to Spring (#1) were good, the menu pictures look incredible and what could possibly go wrong with Thai! Each time (I'm a foodie) I visit a restaurant, I take in the entire experience and when I leave, I make a determination as to whether I'll go back... or not. In this case, I will not go back. Expectations (based on Spring #1 AND the prices for the food) were high, but alas it was not to be. The Chive Pancake was wonderful, no questions asked, however my main course (Jeyuk Bokkeum) of spicy pork bowl was wanting. Although the presentation was nice, the serving of spicy port was tiny, barely two mouthfuls and the rest was rice and veggies. Not at all what I would have expected for the money. In addition, the entire bowl lacked flavor, bland at best and nothing touched the palate at all. Very disappointing. And... who leaves a Thai meal hungry? Service was good, however as a Spring related restaurant, and given the prices, I would expect better than college age kids tending to my meal.
