A so-so lunch. I say that because the staff were very good and the restaurant and price point were great,too. However, I may have just chosen the wrong item. I opted for the lunch pad ke moa and it was slippery and covered in an extremely tomato based sauce. I am not expert, but most preparations are in a brown sauce with a different taste. This one was almost pink. I may go back at some point but I would chose a different item. read more

The food here was decent and the atmosphere was fine, but unfortunately our experience was soured by the service. According to our receipt, our server's name was Joseph. While he seemed polite to our faces, we later overheard him talking and laughing about us behind our backs, which was incredibly unprofessional and disappointing. On top of that, the service itself was lacking. We never once received water refills, every glass at our table sat empty, even the ice. We also had to ask for our check after waiting, and at one point our server was literally sitting in the corner ignoring us. We tried flagging him down, but he just stared until another server told him to go over. When he finally came to clear our plates, I had to quickly ask for dessert before he scurried off again. The other servers we observed seemed much more attentive and friendly, so perhaps we just had bad luck. But the way we were treated left a really bad impression, and unfortunately it overshadowed what could have been a much better dining experience. read more

There are a lot of solid Thai places in the North Fulton area, and Thai Emerald is one of the spots in our rotation. I've tried multiple entrees here, and have been impressed with pretty much everything. My favorites are the cashew nut chicken and the pineapple fried rice. The fresh rolls and tofu bites are a nice appetizer also. The place has a quiet and upscale atmosphere, but it's also kid-friendly. There is also an outdoor patio that is popular during fall/spring mild weather. Service is always really good also. read more

Ambiance is 10 on 10. It's spa like, very elegant and soothing. Both indoor and patio are very well maintained and calming. We ordered veggie spring rolls, pad Kee mow and basil fried rice. Been there - and so glad we Thai'd that! Our realtor recommended we try Thai Emerald and I am so glad we listened. Thai Emerald is the cutest little spot, both intimate and welcoming. There is an amazing little patio adorned with string lights. I am a sucker for some string lights. We ordered take-out the first night we were staying in our new home right down the street. It made for the perfect first meal! We called to order and were quoted about 35 minutes. It ended up taking closer to an hour so we waited quite a bit after arriving. The food was breathtaking and well worth the wait. Thai is one of those cuisines that is on the pricier side and Thai Emerald is no exception. You get what you pay for, though, and this stuff is really divine! Money well spent I assure you! We ordered the following: Crab Rangoon ($7.95) Emerald Special ($21.95) Pad Thai - Shrimp ($18.95) Panang Curry - Tofu ($16.95) The crab rangoon were tasty. Not the sweetest of the ones I have had and ate a bit on the greasy side, but they were still good! The emerald special was awesome. I wanted to try both the pineapple fried rice and the cashew nut chicken so this was the perfect dish. It is a sweet dish (which I like) and really lovely. It is different from what you would normally get with the addition of the curry powder. The pad thai was out of this world. Hubs and I both agreed this is probably the best pad thai we have ever had. We got a bunch of things to share and ended up fighting over the pad thai. The panang curry was also delightful and served with steamed rice. I loved the texture and cook on the tofu and the flavor was just what I know and love about panang curry. We will get this over and over again. This is a great dish to warm your soul! We can't wait to visit Thai Emerald again soon. There are so many other dishes we want to try as we continue to order our favorites! So happy to have found our Thai spot so quickly! read more

Came here on a Sunday night with my friend. It was around 7pm and they were very busy. We were able to get a table out on the patio, which is a cute space. I got the red curry with soft tofu, my friend got the green curry with tofu as well, she also got the crispy tofu appetizer and the coconut chicken soup. I got a bite of her tofu appetizer and it was pretty good. My red curry was very flavorful, the only thing I wish was different is more rice. read more

We were excited about this place when we first moved into our new house nearby. We tried it out on a Friday night and the restaurant wasn't busy. I ordered the crab rangoons, the shrimp panang curry, and the mango sticky rice. The crab rangoon was unusually fishy and I could not eat it. There were maybe 4 tiny shrimp in the curry and the curry consisted of only shrimp, sauce, green beans, and red bell pepper. Pretty average and this has not my experience at other thai places. The mango sticky rice was my favorite part of the meal and I would get it again, if I absolutely had to return here. Our waiter was also pretty slow. He hardly ever checked on us and I had to grab his attention multiple times anytime we needed anything'. read more

I have been going to Thai Emerald for well over a decade. Have things changed recently? We got food to go yesterday and it's the worst food I've ever had from here. We got cashew chicken and the rice noddle dish. First the cashew chicken was absolutely disgusting. The chicken must have been so over cooked it was dry and basically the coating on the outside and so tough and chewy. The chicken in the rice noddles was also very few and far in between and over cooked and tough. Not at all acceptable for how expensive it is. I've never been so disappointed my favorite Thai place would ever deem our food acceptable to sell. read more

My wife and I ate here a short time ago and had a wonderful experience. We've been here many times and the food & service are consistently great. Ambiance sitting in their outdoor area makes for a beautiful evening. My wife always orders the cashew chicken. It's so good that it's like eating candy, you just can't stop. Lunch date. Haven't been in awhile. Located in a nice area of Roswell. Shopping plaza has decent parking. Quiet area. Outside patio along w very nice indoor decor. Waitstaff are beautifully dressed in modest cultural wear. Love that touch. Fresh and clear space to tables. Lunch time is active but not normally overly congested. You can tell the patrons are regulars and appreciate the cuisine. Food comes out consistent every time. Flavors are on point. You can increase the heat level. Major plus!!! Because I want tha heat!!! Is this is absolute best Thai food I've eaten. No. Was last night's dinner tasty, hot (warm) and enjoyable...and would I return? Most definitely. We ordered take out. I had the tofu Praram. Wifey had the ground chicken pad prik, with sides of fried egg rolls and fried tofu. (Yeah, we like the fried sides...don't judge.) The food was ready right on time, correct, nicely packaged, and reasonably priced. There were only two tables taken when I arrived around 7:55. Would've been a dynamite spot for a date night. Maybe sunday night was not a good time to visit this place. I have ordered basil fried rice and green curry. The fried rice was way too oily. You would end up being a lot of thirsty if you ate that. Cute little ambiance and style for a little strip mall location. Ordered some crab rangoon and Thai iced tea to start. Both about what you'd expect. Ordered the Pad See Ewe for dinner. I'm not one for spice, so I never order, but it was still bland just the same. The server was quite friendly and was very attentive, but that could've been from lack of customers and boredom just as much as anything else! Probably won't go back. Normally the food here is outstanding. Although the appetizer (Thai mix) was good, our entrees, both of them, came out cold. Ice cold. I did not want to complain as my dinner partner and I were having an important discussion... but what a terrible distraction. I have eaten at Thai Emerald a handful of times, and the food is very average. I ate in the restaurant for dinner this past weekend. The ambiance and service was wonderful, no complaints there! The food was very average. I had the crab Rangoon which were chewy and not much filling. For my entree I had the Panang Curry, which was so so. The sauce was pretty flavorful, but the ratio of rice to sauce to chicken seemed off, and there was so much sauce that it was more like a soup consistency. Would definitely be open to giving it another try, but have not been too impressed so far. read more

Never again. We just walked out of there. Hot, cramped, the staff acts like they have zero regard for you or your dining experience. We walked in - nobody was there to greet us. People were there to pick up a to go order and the food was not ready. The place was busy but had a couple empty tables. We saw several teenage boys walking around with water pitchers, passing us with no greeting or glance. Finally, one comes over and leads us to a table by winding us through the restaurant. It was hot and next to a screaming child, we asked for the other table at the front that was open. We sat down and after 8 minutes - we were never greeted by anyone. I think every single employee of the restaurant walked by us, including the woman who we thought was the owner. No greeting, nothing. We saw one of these youngish guys walk by and we asked if we had a waiter, his response was "yeah, she will be here in a few minutes." He didn't even go back to get her, to tell her that customers were asking. He went and started refilling water and greeted other customers at the door. We literally called another local Thai restaurant NaNa - and they said they did not have a wait. We gave it another 2 minutes and walked out. Thai Emerald is a great Thai restaurant. We have never had anything that isn't good. We always start off with the coconut soup. Next my husband has the basil chicken (his favorite!). I have had the cashew chicken, amazing chicken, panang salmon and prik pao. It's all really fresh and great flavor. The waitstaff is always friendly and we have never had to wait a long time for our food. The restaurant is nice to inside but they do a lot of takeout as well. read more
