Chef Special Mango Grouper
Courtney G.

The food here was decent and the atmosphere was fine, but unfortunately our experience was soured by the service. According to our receipt, our server's name was Joseph. While he seemed polite to our faces, we later overheard him talking and laughing about us behind our backs, which was incredibly unprofessional and disappointing. On top of that, the service itself was lacking. We never once received water refills, every glass at our table sat empty, even the ice. We also had to ask for our check after waiting, and at one point our server was literally sitting in the corner ignoring us. We tried flagging him down, but he just stared until another server told him to go over. When he finally came to clear our plates, I had to quickly ask for dessert before he scurried off again. The other servers we observed seemed much more attentive and friendly, so perhaps we just had bad luck. But the way we were treated left a really bad impression, and unfortunately it overshadowed what could have been a much better dining experience.

Ambiance is 10 on 10. It's spa like, very elegant and soothing. Both indoor and patio are very well maintained and calming. We ordered veggie spring rolls, pad Kee mow and basil fried rice. Everything tasted so good with great service. All they miss is a massage room ;) will definitely add this to my regular list

Best Father's Day restaurant experience ever! Thai Emerald delivered on all 3 of my key eating requirements: food quality; value; and overall enjoyment. I give extra bonus points for the deliciousness and authenticity. I had the Green Curry Grouper with a "hot" level of spiciness. About the equivalent of a fresh grilled jalapeño eaten straight. See picture.

My go to for authentic Thai Food. The Cashew nut chicken is AMAZING, one of my favorite meals ever.

Crab Rangoon ($7.95)

Been there - and so glad we Thai'd that! Our realtor recommended we try Thai Emerald and I am so glad we listened. Thai Emerald is the cutest little spot, both intimate and welcoming. There is an amazing little patio adorned with string lights. I am a sucker for some string lights. We ordered take-out the first night we were staying in our new home right down the street. It made for the perfect first meal! We called to order and were quoted about 35 minutes. It ended up taking closer to an hour so we waited quite a bit after arriving. The food was breathtaking and well worth the wait. Thai is one of those cuisines that is on the pricier side and Thai Emerald is no exception. You get what you pay for, though, and this stuff is really divine! Money well spent I assure you! We ordered the following: Crab Rangoon ($7.95) Emerald Special ($21.95) Pad Thai - Shrimp ($18.95) Panang Curry - Tofu ($16.95) The crab rangoon were tasty. Not the sweetest of the ones I have had and ate a bit on the greasy side, but they were still good! The emerald special was awesome. I wanted to try both the pineapple fried rice and the cashew nut chicken so this was the perfect dish. It is a sweet dish (which I like) and really lovely. It is different from what you would normally get with the addition of the curry powder. The pad thai was out of this world. Hubs and I both agreed this is probably the best pad thai we have ever had. We got a bunch of things to share and ended up fighting over the pad thai. The panang curry was also delightful and served with steamed rice. I loved the texture and cook on the tofu and the flavor was just what I know and love about panang curry. We will get this over and over again. This is a great dish to warm your soul! We can't wait to visit Thai Emerald again soon. There are so many other dishes we want to try as we continue to order our favorites! So happy to have found our Thai spot so quickly!

Fresh ingredients, but very bland and underwhelming. It was takeout so crab Rangoons were chewy, probably didn't travel well. Just ok!

It also has outdoor covered seating with a tv. We had reservations, got a table and were seated quickly. It soon gets very full and very very loud. There are hard surfaces everywhere making this much worse. In order to compensate for this noise issue the tables have like an egg-shell material attached underneath. This can be a bit off-putting when you put your napkin in your lap and feel something fairly strange under there. We both order fish. Me, shrimp & grits and my husband, an assorted plate of fried fish, shrimp and oysters and chips. He specifically asked for no fired oysters, and the waitress offered to bring extra shrimp instead of oysters. My shrimp was good and served fairly warm, the grits were cold. My husband received all the things including the oysters and only 4 shrimp. We would have asked for it to be fixed but no one came by to ask how our food / dinner was going. When the waitress finally came by to ask if we wanted dessert we mentioned it but she didn't offer to fix anything, just to bring us some shrimp but by that time we didn't want it. We were also visiting ATL and didn't have anywhere to take it back to or warm it up in the hotel. So overall it was a bit disappointing but some may really enjoy the place.

So when Alpharetta opened, I was ready. Let's start with what they got right. The ambiance is absolutely beautiful. It's giving upscale, classy, a little loud but still grown and sexy. You can tell it's meant to feel expensive. And I do love a good valet moment right at the front... makes the night start off smooth. Now... this birthday dinner situation. We had a reservation for 9 and somehow ended up split into separate booths across what felt like multiple sections. For a birthday? That's just not it. Especially when I'm looking around seeing other parties our size seated together with no issue. There was even additional seating that was never offered to us. The service felt just as scattered as the seating. Our server was kind but clearly overwhelmed. Because we were split up, everything came out disorganized... and I mean full chaos. Entrées before salads, appetizers hitting at different times, and one person never received their appetizer at all. That's not the experience you expect here. Now let's talk food... because this is where I really had to pause. I ordered my steak medium. It came out rare. Okay, mistakes happen... but when it came back, it was extra well done. And I'm sorry, at a steakhouse? That's just unacceptable. That should be the one thing you get right every time. Now I will absolutely give credit where it's due. The wedge salad? Delicious. Fresh, crisp, and that blue cheese dressing with the crumbles... divine. The lobster tail was also really good, no complaints there. The Brussels sprouts, though, were undercooked and just didn't land. Overall, the flavors just didn't hit the way I know this brand can. It lacked that consistency I've experienced before, and that was disappointing. I did speak with a manager and they were gracious and invited me back, which I appreciate. And I'm going to be fair... they are newly opened, so I'll give them some time to tighten things up. But right now? It's a no for me on the overall experience. I'd still recommend checking it out for the ambiance and potential, but if you're going, just know they've got some things to get together first. I'll revisit... just not anytime soon.
