I liked Thai Deelish. The amount of food you get for your main course could easily feed a small village. I started with the larb gai for an appetizer and it was really good. For the main meal I went with the drunken noodles. I have to say, they frickin feed you like a champ there. The plate was stacked. The appetizers were a bit pricey, but I could understand considering how much effort must go into preparing them. Overall, the food was really good and I like the Thai restaurants that let you choose the level of heat. What a great find! This charming mom-and-pop offers really "deelish" Thai eats. While you could sample their signature dishes, listed towards the front of the menu, I urge you to instead flip to the second to last page for "classic Thai" dishes. These items are more "traditional" from what I can see and funkier, fishier, stronger-tasting. A must-try for more adventurous eaters. The menu options include raw crab papaya salad (mmmmm), pad thai hongtae (made with cellophane not rice noodles), "simply mussels" (a mussel pancake of sorts), and tamarind curry with assorted seafood. We sampled the pad thai hongtae, Chinese broccoli with salted anchovies, and Thai coconut taro custard. The cellophane noodle pad thai was laden with lump crab meat and big, meaty shrimp. Loved the fishy, bright flavor and gorgeous colors.The Chinese broccoli was also plenty fishy thanks to the salted anchovies, but there was more complexity to this dish than we had imagined. For one, those two peppers next to its listing on the menu are deceiving--this was a pretty spicy dish! It also was slightly buttery from the slivers of garlic in its super garlicky sauce. So in one dish, we got spicy, salty, and buttery. The finale to our meal, the coconut taro custard, was rich, just the right amount of sweetness, and decadent but not sickeningly so. Service was pleasant and prompt. Prices are definitely higher than Thai establishments in more ethnically diverse areas, like Falls Church, but portions are good and the flavors are pretty hard to find in northern Virginia. I would say this is the best Thai restaurant we've tried so far in Loudoun County. If fishy isn't your thing, then stick to the Crying Tiger or Chu chee dish, or something along those lines. read more

I've been ordering food from Thai Deelish ever since they first opened. Since I live within walking distance and love Thai food, I order food from them about twice a week. Even with how convenient they are, I will no longer order food from here. First of all, the quality of food is hit or miss. I like to order Pad Thai and sometimes its fantastic and other times its terrible. Its been more on the terrible side lately. A few days ago we dined in. We didn't even get menus for the first 10 minutes we were there nor were we even asked what we wanted to drink. The long-haired woman that works there ALWAYS seems to act like I'm inconveniencing her (the young guy that works there is really nice though.) We ordered soft shell crab and crispy duck. The soft shell crab seemed very soggy and the duck was overcooked resulting in a really chewy texture. Each dish was pretty pricey (almost $20) and I expected much better quality. Try Bangkrak Thai instead. I have to drive there but the service is much better and the food is much tastier. read more

I wish I could give 2 and a half stars, not 3. This was my first time ordering form here and left me quite disappointed. I ordered chicken satay, panang curry and mango sticky rice. Food took an hour and when I almost took a bite out of the chicken satay, I noticed a long blond hair wrapped around it. So gross! I have dark brown hair so it's not mine! I was completely disgusted and called the place and spoke with manager. She apologized but it didn't seem sincere. She should've credited back the whole thing to my card and sent some fresh chicken satay out but she just had the driver bring out a new one. The curry was so good at least! The mango sticky rice (it was my first time ordering it) and it was good, but they gave me a VERY minimal amount and very bummed about it. I had a craving for Pad Thai, so I decided to give this place a try. I came at an odd time and I was the only one in there. I was greeted right away and a menu was brought to me. I looked over the menu and just ordered the Chicken Pad Thai and a glass of water. My server brought my water and we chatted a bit while my food was cooked. We had a nice chat. If you are ever here, ask them if they have had the Thai food at the Chinese place next door. You'll get a kick out of it :) I know I did. Well my food came out. It was a good sized portion. The color looked good and it smelled nice. I mixed everything together and dove it. It tasted good. Not too sweet and not to sour. I wolfed it down in no time. Overall, nice little place. The inside is clean, people are friendly, Chicken Pad Thai is good. What more can you ask for? =) read more

Love this place for lunch! I also really like that you can try two different dishes at the same time. Lunch combos come with soup of the day and a choice of either veggie dumplings or egg rolls. Stopped in here in between lunch and dinner rush. We where going to go to the chinese restaurant next door but since my GF never experienced Thai food we decided to check this place out. Decor: Minimal Thai related items. Looked more like a Mexican restaurant Service: The fellar that took our "to go" order was from Thailand and very friendly. He was new in the states and seemed eager to learn our culture. He took our order as best he could. PAD THAI with chicken, I decide for the both of us. Being that my GF never had Thai I wanted to start off slow. We also order the chicken satay and spring rolls. OFF THE CHAIN!! I got the flyer and had to try it out because I'm still on a mission find a Thai restaurant I will go back to. I ordered the usual noodle dishes (drunken noodle and pad see ew) just to see how they taste. Very good. Pretty close to the Mai Thai in downtown DC on 19th St. if you've ever been to that one (excellent!). I will definitely return to ThaiDeelish. The only compliant I have is the speed of service. You can tell that this is a new restaurant and probably new management, the speed of service sucks. I ordered on the phone and was told it would take 25 minutes. 25 minutes later I showed up to pick up the food, and waited another good 20 minutes until I received my order. Ridiculous! We live near it and eat it quite a bit (too often) when we are too lazy to cook. We really enjoy the Green Curry and the Pad Thai. I also think that the kaprow is much better than average. We came here on Wednesday night after a rough 8-hour flight from Paris. When we arrived it was about 40 minutes to closing time. We started with the wonton soup and steamed dumplings, both of which were delicious. WE then proceeded on to the main dishes -- drunken noodles and chicken with vegetables. These entrees were just OK... nothing to write home about. The thing that kind of irked me was that I felt like we were being rushed out. The service was lackluster and I can't stand it when a waiter can't speak a lick of English. It really bugs me. I felt like I flew back home to a foreign country. I had an easier time communicating with people in Europe than here in America. Anyways, I digress... Thai Deelish is a decent Thai restaurant. I can't say the main dishes were that great but the Thai Iced Tea and apps were super tasty. The place itself could use some modernizing for sure. read more

I've ordered from here about a dozen times, and the food is always above average. We get the chicken kaprow or pad see ew, and tastes great. Lunch specials are a good deal, and flavorful. The service is lacking for sure. If you're okay with slow turnaround, and sometimes messed up orders, and even a little rudeness, then the food is worth it. Even for dining in, I've seen people complaining about the slow time (while I'm waiting for my late pick up order). Closer to 3.5 stars because of the good food. read more

Just got back from the restaurant. The restaurant offers quite a number of authentic thai dishes. I'm from Thailand and was happy to see some real thai dishes on the menu. My Lao papaya salad was outstanding. Tasted just like what I would normally have back in Thailand. My kao soi ( northern thai curry noodle) was too sweet and too creamy for my taste and there wasn't much aroma in it. However, it's hard to find an authentic kao soi even in Thailand. Crying tiger and sticky rice was yummy but my laab gai had a sweet undertone in it and no mint leaves!!!! I had like it to be more sour and spicy. I'll definitely go back there again to try their paad se-ew and some of their curries. read more

There is no better place in Ashburn for thai food. Not fancy, beer and wine only, no liquor, but always great food. we eat out a lot and travel and this is our go-to place. one of our favorite spots in NoVa. a very good place for healthy eaters - gluten free and low/no salt options. have never had a bad meal. sometimes they get busy and end up short staffed so just come back another time or order another time. but be patient. dont be a jerk. these are some of the nicest ladies around, they have worked there for years, and they work very hard, so be nice to them. read more

While moving to Ashburn not too long ago, my husband and I have been trying to find "the one" when it comes to Thai food since there are so many available. I believe we have found the winner. We have become accustomed to being the only people in these Thai restaurants with multiple people coming in for take-out. It used to seem a little strange and that maybe the place wasn't going to be good - which is sometimes true. We were promptly seated and had our orders taken for a curry dish and my personal go to of pad see ew. We waited maybe about 10 mins for our food to arrive piping hot. My husband said it was awesome curry and he wished he had not eaten it all so he could have leftovers. I thought the pad see ew (beef) was really good and you could tell they (maybe) used a little better quality cut of meat as with other places. The noodles were of a nice mushy consistency which i like and the broccoli was cooked perfectly. I was not able to finish my whole plate so it did heat up pretty nicely the next day. Food is great. One of the server/cashier (shorter height) is really rude and have had multiple interactions with her where she is disrespectul if the owner/manager is not around. Keep going back because closer to home and owner is respectful. Please beware of her if you are ordering food. This is the first time trying Thai food. This place is absolutely fabulous. I had the pineapple rice and Hot soup with rice noodles. You can never go wrong coming here and I will bring my family and friends for dinner. The flavors just burst in your tastebuds and i cant believe i never have happened into this little gem. Disgusting food. I ordered pad Thai, they used thin spaghetti noodles and the tofu was extremely watery. The spring rolls were not even edible. Great Thai food. You come here for the great food, which is really all I care about in a restaurant. Get the drunken noodle with chicken, and know you can configure to find the perfect meal for you (extra chicken, 3-10 pepper hot). It's not about the hole in the wall ambiance. The service is ok, it's usually understaffed with one nice lady trying to do takeout and the 12 tables in the restaurant. The takeout is pretty reliable for 15-20 minutes though the delivery sometimes takes up to 45 minutes (it used to be like clockwork at 30 minutes, but it still shows up hot). read more
