Didn't know what to expect out of this place but I have to say it's delicious! I got the Pad See Ew and was pleased with what I ended up getting. Although the portion sizes aren't as big as I'd have liked them to be for the price, they have some really good deals for dine in that could be taken advantage of (although they're only for dine-in). On the outside this place is easy to miss. It's in a bit of a strange place off of Glebe Road that you wouldn't go to unless looking for it. It was a nice Friday night so I figured I'd order take out via Uber Eats . I was craving Pad See Ew. So i ordered Pad See Ew and Vegetable Spring Rolls from Thai Curry. My food arrived warm and was a very nice sized portion. Also, the meal was packaged and presented well. Nonetheless, as I preceded to enjoy my meal the negativities of my Friday night meal started to reveal themselves. There was wayyy to much oil in my noodles. There was a pool of it. I seriously can barely hold my phone because all of the oil. You can see it in the photo. Also, as i continued to eat and avoid the oil I found a piece of plastic in my meal!! I could have chocked. That's very unsanitary and unacceptable. There were no problems with the 4 spring rolls. Thai Curry does not provide napkins or chop sticks to there takeout customers. Bad customer service with bad food. I ordered tofu drunken noodles. All they added was tofu and onion. No peppers , no mushroom nothing. When I called the restaurant they said we don't add and vegetables. So all you have is dry noodles with tofu. read more

The loss of a star is due to their raising of the combo prices. It used to start at $12/$15 but is now $16/18. The prices went up but more offerings for the combos weren't added. Originally wanted to try their catfish special but apparently they no longer serve it? The tilapia was fried and had sauce with onions and peppers. I enjoyed the dish but wanted maybe some spice? Recently picked up Pad Thai from Thai Curry, and the dish tasted very different from the first time I had it. I originally loved all the strong flavors - Thai Curry did a great job incorporating all the flavors together. I got to order lunch for work and was craving Thai. This was my first time trying this place and it was delicious. I used to love this place, but it's really gone downhill. The food is clearly pre-made and then combined last minute i.e. my fried rice came in 3 separate layers: rice, chicken, egg. The meat is usually tough now as if it's been sitting pre-cooked and drying out under a heat lamp. You can tell the ingredients weren't stir-fried together and to order the way it used to be. Also, the portion sizes have been shrinking as the prices have been growing. It seems every dish on the menu is priced to NOT include protein, so if you want anything besides veggie/tofu, it's at least a $2 upcharge. It ends up being ~$16 for a typical dish, but it's a bit misleading. Maybe this is more DoorDash's fault though. I can understand if these changes help crank out orders faster, but the food also feels more manufactured and less satisfying. read more

A few people had mentioned to me that they really like this place, but I failed to consider the source. Crowdsourcing restaurant recommendations (despite my love of this site) and taking advice from people who don't understand Thai food is not always wise. But it's the only Thai place that delivers to me through GrubHub so I chanced it. Basically, I ended up tossing almost $30 worth of food. The GrubHub menu is limited, but I liked the options. I went with spring rolls, wonton soup, and basil eggplant with tofu. Now, the food wasn't bad in a gross way, but it had absolutely no flavor. Like none. The complexity of flavors one would expect from Thai cuisine were not present. They did get the heat levels right, but that was about it. Thai Curry is one of Ballston's hidden gems. So far I've had the green curry, the Pad Thai, and the basil fried rice. The first and third are both pretty authentic - the curry is spicy, and the rice is insanely flavorful. The Pad Thai is still good but definitely not as good as some other Pad Thai that I've had. We found Thai Curry through Yelp and decided to give it a try since it has decent reviews. We ordered the Thai basil fried rice with shrimp and chicken pad Thai. The estimate was between 30-45 mins. The delivery arrived about 50 mins later, which was fine. Pad Thai- very dry and lacked flavor. The noodles were clumped together. Thai basil fried rice- this dish was very moist, unlike more fried rice dishes. The peppers weren't sautéed and the entire dish was very salty. I tried this place out on a whim about 6 months ago and I haven't been to another Thai restaurant in the DMV area since then. It's finally time I leave a review. The food is fantastic! Such a great variety and it's made perfectly every time. The Pad See Ew is my favorite, but the appetizers are all incredible. I've been very unimpressed with the Thai cuisine in the area until now. Mom is visiting from out of town and wanted Thai for her birthday Saturday night. So we decided to give this place a try and order delivery. One word: FANTASTIC! Everything was delivered quickly and was very tasty. As expected, fried items were a little less than crispy (this happens with delivery) but the place tries hard and vents the takeout containers so steam doesn't build up inside. It just made us want to visit in person more to try the veggie spring rolls and cream cheese wontons at an in person visit. For entrees we got: Pad See Ew (little spicy), Pineapple Fried Rice (little spicy), Red Curry (spicy). Nice to find some place where "spicy" is spicy - and red curry is just about my favorite thai dish. Thai Curry's version comes with choice of protein), bell peppers, pineapple, and cherry tomatoes. I thought it fantastic though wonder if I'm brave enough to try brave their very spicy or "thai" spicy. What I got was their level 3 and I enjoyed it while only eyeing the box of kleenex a couple of times. Mom loved her Pad See Ew but we found it interesting and both it and the fried rice were ordered as "little spicy" the variance between the spicy level of the 2 dishes was distinct. Just ordered delivery and it was by far the worst Thai food I've had in the DMV. Absolutely no flavor. The Pad Thai is a classic and their Pad Thai didn't taste like Pad Thai at all. Whether it is Seamless or Uber Eats, Thai Curry will be a local Arlington spot that will most like appear on your food delivery app. My experience with them so far has been with delivery orders. The Pad Thai is a very generous portion, guaranteed to banish you to the couch as you process your new food coma. The dish was fresh but didn't really stand out in taste. The Crab Wontons however was a very savory take on Crab Rangoons. Overall Thai Curry is a solid value in the inexpensive Thai delivery/take-out that won't wow you but it will take care of satisfying your hunger. read more

We have been coming here for years and actually love the food. During the pandemic, we have ordered quite a lot of dinners from Thai Curry and have noticed the decline. Not in the taste of the food, but absolutely the quantity that we get for the same price. I understand that restaurants have had to make adjustments, but tonight was the final straw. Every container was about half of the size that used to be. I ordered curry, which usually comes with a small container of rice, and even that small container was only half full. Who cheats their customers on plain white rice? It is one of the cheapest thing you can serve. How much could they have possibly saved to then have to lose a family full of customers and then everyone we have told to go there? It's very disappointing and if they had let us know the reasoning behind the change, or adjusted the price up for the same serving size or down based on the new serving size, it would be way more palatable. I ordered Pad Kee Mao, wasabi popcorn shrimp, som tum, and thai iced tea. I highly recommend the wasabi shrimp (wasabi was not overwhelming which made the whole experience bareable) and som tum (I got it in spicy), the pad kee mao was a disappointment, not much flavor, super bland. I ordered delivery at Thai Curry. While the green curry flavor was quite good, I found a chunk of thread and hair in the curry. At first I thought it was just a single strand of hair stuck to a basil, but when I looked closely it was actually thread (see attached photo). I have a high tolerance for dirtiness, and was willing to dismiss the one hair--hey, it happens sometimes! But the thread...pretty gross and unappetizing. Not even sure how that would get in there. Also the Tom Yum wasn't very good. Not acidic how I like it, but may suit others' tastes. Needless to say I did not finish my food. Feels like a waste of $26. Based on the reviews I guess I was expecting more :( in addition to the sticker when you walk in it says yelpers love us! I had the Tom Yum soup which was pretty good but the Red Duck Curry had way too much everything else but duck. Lots of pineapples, peppers, tomatoes and a lil bit of duck. It was a bit spicy for me which isn't a big deal and the rice was pretty hard. And what's with the random loud Korean music is a Thai restaurant? I love this place. The service is always very courteous and kind. I have to recommend the Panang curry I normally like a Mussamun curry but this is also really flavorful and not too too spicy. It's quiet and it's a small place, but definitely give it a chance, and they are doing really convenient curbside pick up. Went here on a Friday night with my family (4 people.). The place caught my attention after I heard they had remodeled and have been under new ownership. We ordered 3 appetizers and 4 entrees. I have to say - everything was delicious. Chicken satay - very good but one thing. There was no cucumber salad or bread like 99% of other Thai places Crispy duck rolls - amazing, kind of like the Thai version of Chinese Peking Duck Tom Yum Soup (shrimp) - pretty good. a bit salty. Decent portion of shrimp Drunken noodle - chicken, very very good. Possibly the best I've had and I have been to 10 other Thai places. Lettuce was placed on the bottom of the plate to make it appear as if there was more noodles - smart. Fried tilapia - I forgot the restraunt name for it but it was very well prepared and the fish stayed crispy even throughout our whole meal Beef kapow/basil - subpar. Good. Not amazing Crab fried rice - pretty good. Decent amount of crab meat. Everything in general was very good. Defintely among the top Thai restraunts in the NOVA area. The inside is very much hip, modern and upbeat. Similar to nearby Bangkok 54. Service was ok. It was strange seeing the place being more busy at 8:30 pm than other places are at 6:30 pm. The remodel defintely paid off. The place is like a gem inside a old rather crusty strip mall in the South of Arlington. Only complaint I have is that the waitress sat my family between 2 couples when there was more comfortable seating elsewhere. This place is great for dates, has a nice bar and is generally a cool place. Bad place for groups due to the fact that it is very small. Parking may be a hassle also due to small lot and tight spots. I can't believe that I have lived down the street from this restaurant and never been! Upon entering, the place was very quiet, as we were the only customers. That is a shame because this place has one of the best Happy Hours in the DMV. There are small bites for $3-$4 such as egg rolls, friend shrimp, pork wontons and edamame. These are amazing prices for a happy hour food menu, and the portions are generous. As for the drinks in HH, the prices are insanely cheap. A long island iced tea is $3!! It comes in a sizable mason jar, and it is very delicious. It has the perfect amount of alcohol to Coke ratio, and also really packs a punch. One of these is sufficient for happy hour. But be sure to order a beer for your entrees because the chili oil they use is very hot! As apps, we ordered the crispy shrimp and egg rolls. The shrimp was butterflied and perfectly fried. it was a golden brown with an amazing crunch. The egg rolls looked very elegant, and tasted delicious as well. It was light, crispy, and filled with cabbage and carrots. The entrees we ordered were fantastic. We had the chicken fried rice and the fried basil tilapia. The rice was a large portion, and was full of flavor. We could see the hot chilis mixed in the rice, and it came with basil, chicken, peppers and onions. Standard ingredients for fried rice, but the flavor was super rich. Each bite had some heat, some sweetness from the basil, a bit of salt from the brown sauce, and a good crunch from the vegetables. The hot sauce rack is extremely spicy. We added some more chili oil, and we underestimated how spicy it is. We were sweating eating this dish. There was a great balance between heat and taste, which is something I love. The fried basil tilapia was extraordinary. The fish was very crispy and fileted into manageable portions. It was topped with strips of ginger, peppers and onions. The fish itself was perfectly cooked, having a crunchy exterior but a very moist and flaky flesh. This paired with the intense ginger and onions made for a delicious meal. We noticed that no other customers came into eat, however, there was a steady stream of take out orders. We had Thai basil fried rice (medium spicy) one is chicken and the other one was beef with shrimp (combination $14.99) The place was clean and service was good. My finding and rating is low for the food and it's flovour. Chicken, beef and shimp were dried and white in color. So I think it's not well seasoned or store fried with seasoning. I usually go to Padek (seven corner) and just tried this place since it's alot cheaper. I have to stick to Padek for real flovour and quality food. Sorry lost my business. read more

For some odd reason, I was craving Thai food but wasn't sure where to order. As a lazy being, I checked Ubereats and Thai Curry popped up so I ordered from it. They were having great specials such as BOGO free on selected dishes like their Wonton soup. The soup was delicious, had great amounts of flavor; and the wonton were filled beautifully. Along with this, I ordered their Drunken noodles (just like an ordinary person) from their lunch menu and was beyond impressed. It had lots of chicken, the sauce was everything; and the right amount of spice to it. I should also mention that I forgot something on my order and when I called for adjustments, whoever picked up was so nice about it. I ordered takeout from this place and was amazed by how GREAT the food was! I got a green Thai curry (no fish sauce, as I'm vegetarian) and vegetarian spring rolls. The spring rolls were crispy and delicious, and the sweet chili sauce they came with was the perfect complement. The Thai Green curry was probably one of the best I've had! It was the perfect marriage of sweetness from the coconut milk, and spice. They added plenty of vegetables and the portion was generous.
