We also bought 2 kids meals, and one of them, the cashew chicken, had some type of sharp, pointed plastic pick or something in it. Mistakes happen, but definitely even worse that it was in a kid meal. Yikes! No other photos were taken because we were busy eating and enjoying dinner, until we were not so pleasantly surprised. We called for takeout from Thai Basil while on vacation in the area. They were really helpful with multiple dietary restrictions - gluten free, vegetarian and allergies. Service was super friendly, however they did have us pay over the phone, as tourists have not shown up for their larger orders before. Popped in for some late lunch because of the convenient location to Aldis. Really didn't have any expectations just a quick glance at Yelp and some good reviews. My favorite dish is Pad Thai and I've tried many different places- this is top 2 of all the Pad Thai's I've ever had! You can taste the fresh off the wok flavor that was well balanced with the sauce and peanut. Even my husband who prefers lo mein over rice noodles couldn't help himself taking a few bites. Nice and friendly staff. However, probably would not come back. Pad kee Mao (drunken noodle) was overall okay. I think to add a little kick, they used maybe chili POWDER? Not exactly sure, but I did not like that. Fried rice was good but a little over cooked. Rice was super soft, which means it's only good for right there and then. Reheating it later would make the rice soggier. The panang curry wasn't bad either but a little more on the watery side and the coconut flavor was very overpowering. Looking for Asian restaurants on this side of town seemed few and far between but we found this little place in the strip of shops behind the Kroger. Menu offerings were plenty, we ordered the Shrimp Thai Basil, the Chicken in Rainbow Sauce, just called Rainbow, I would liken it to across between Basil sauce and maybe a Szechzuan sauce, the Chicken in Garlic sauce, and the Chicken Curry. All were very tasty. Appetizers were the potstickers, and the fresh shrimp basil rolls which did not disappoint. The restaurant got busy after 630pm, and lots of take out orders. We ordered the spring rolls as an appetizer and Tom Kha guy. Both were delicious. The sauce for the spring rolls was sweet and thin not thick. The soup was delicious. For dinner we split a pad Thai and the wife got basil rice. The pad thai was good but not great that's were they lose a half star. Nothing wrong with it just didn't wow me. The rice was delicious ! With all the very good reviews, I felt disappointed. The prices here are on the low side of the competition but it really shows in the results. For example their beef salad was rather good but the amount of beef in it was minimal. In fact, it seemed overpriced for what it was. Another example was their fried calamari. I've been privileged to dine at authentic Asian restaurants in California. This place is decent for Pigeon Forge TN area. I ordered the lunch special with Tom Yum soup starter, Shrimp & Chicken Pad Thai, and a sweetened Thai Iced Tea. The Tom Yum soup was full-bodied with lemongrass and mild chili oil - with small pieces of chicken and sliced mushrooms. The Pad Thai was mild and sweet, rice noodles were soft, and the chicken and shrimp were plenty. Lack of cilantro as garnish is the only thing lacking in the dishes. Also I asked about rice (not included in some lunch specials, particularly the Pad Thai). The Thai Tea was sweet and very good. Customer service is prompt, polite and kind. The food is consistently delicious! I dine in and order take-out routinely. I've loved everything I've tried! I've brought friends in as well and they have all been really pleased with their meals. I have a high spice tolerance so I'm not sure if this is the case for everyone, but I don't find "Thai Hot" to be very spicy. I do feel the portions were larger in the past, but it's still enough to leave feeling full.
