Thanks to our Knoxville Yelp Elite buddy (when that was a thing) who is also gluten free for recommending this as a place that "might" have vegan options! We were greeted promptly and cheerfully and seated. When we asked our server for possible vegan options he grabbed us a vegan menu. Practically unheard of in the Knox area! We ordered both the asparagus and peanut & avocado rolls to share. The peanut & avocado roll is outstanding and something I look forward to ordering in the future! He got the Mixed Vegetable in Vegan Brown Sauce and added tofu. He was asked if he wanted fried or steamed which is a nice touch. I got the Broccoli Mushroom with Tofu. Both were delicious. I got a 4 out of 5 spice level which was perfect for me. If I'm feeling especially risky, I might try the 5 level one day! Our server was very helpful and answered my questions about the menu for "next time". They have brown rice...yay. Also the Fresh Mango with Sticky Rice also happens to be vegan...sometimes restaurants that serve this "coconut milk" dish also add regular milk, but the kitchen confirmed it's "just" coconut milk. We've driven past the building hundreds of times, and it's a rather unassuming building. But, once inside, you're transported to an Asian decorated restaurant that reminds me of others I've been to. We went at dinner and the portions were huge and we left stuffed, and decided next time we'll share one dish with an extra order of rice and get the sticky rice. They also have a lunch menu, which doesn't have any vegan options, but our server said you can order from the dinner menu at lunch. read more

Located near Target in Maryville, TN is a small building with a full parking lot. And la lot of to-go orders. We tried this place out on a whim and it's quite small and enjoyable. The menu is rather small. They offer Thai food and sushi. So if you don't like those two items - this place won't be for you. We opted for sushi when we went. First time visiting this joint. Unfortunately, this establishment was hands down one of the worst dine in places we have eaten at in a long time. First our waiter was George L and he lacked personality and friendliness, he was just there and occasionally rude. It was almost like we were a bother to him by even showing up. In fact after being greeted by him we should have just got up and left because he set the mood for the experience. The two rolls ordered were fine and so was the spicy red curry, we subbed tofu and it was nothing to complain about, but unfortunately, we have had way better so nothing to brag about. The teriyaki chicken was very odd, it was very flavorless with its chewy, boiled chicken and very watery teriyaki sauce definitely not like any dish we have ever tasted. Same can be said with the spicy squid. It was very chewy, overcooked and the dish as a whole was pretty flavorless. Came for lunch and had the panang chicken curry, one of my favorites. Servers were friendly and prompt as always. Flavors were spot on and it was delicious. My only criticism would be the chicken to peppers ratio. I dare say, this was less than a 3oz protein portion. What a great spot in Maryville for some Thai food. Dining area is small and quiet. You can hear everyone's conversation. the food is good. Our service was really quick. I had the pad se eu with medium spice and it had a kick! Wasn't enough to take the flavor away but enough to clear the sinuses. Noodles were cooked perfectly. Arrived at the heart of the lunch hour. Restaurant was filled with hungry customers. I was concerned there may be a wait. However, my husband and I was seated quickly and our server was prompt with taking our drink order. I decided on the lunch box special, which consisted of soup, salad, California rolls, steamed rice and sauteed chicken in a curry sauce, which was quite tasty and delicious. We wanted to pay with cash and found out if you order online you have to pay with card, so we called to see if we could place the order over the phone and had no issues. They said it would take ~20-25 minutes to have it ready after we ordered; however we were ~35 minutes away. By the time we arrived the food was still piping hot and the sushi was separately and safely packaged. I'm unsure if they kept it stored or if they waited to prepare our food, either way we were satisfied with the result. Thai food wise, we enjoyed Chicken Pad Thai and Shrimp Drunken Noodle. The only complaint with the food is we asked for medium spice on both; however, all the spice was in the pad thai and no spice in the drunken noodle. Despite all the spice in the pad thai, the food still had great flavor. The shrimp in the drunken noodle were nicely cooked and there was a pretty good number. Sushi wise, we had the Kamikaze roll and rainbow roll. Both were excellent with great flavor and held up well when dipping in soy sauce. They even provided a ramekin of soy sauce along with ginger and wasabi. I would definitely order take out here again. I got sarong shrimp and ka-proud lamb. Sarong shrimp is just ok, tiny shrimp, nothing special. The Lamb, was really good, i love how juicy and soft the lamb chop was, the sauce has chunk of bell pepper and mushroom and basil to enhance the flavor. You should add some soy sauce if you are a salty-eater like me. I think if they can season the lamb a bit longer then have more flavor in it, will be even better. This dish comes with rice. Pro: 1. Our server was very friendly. 2. Fair pricing. Cons: 1. I wouldn't recommend this place. 2. This not authentic Thai. It's Chinese Thai. The decor in the restaurant is also Chinese. Also sushi is Japanese. I love Chinese and Japanese food, but when I'm looking for Thai, I want Thai. Not Chinese Thai. Thai cooking would never include squash/zucchini in yellow curry. The curry flavor was lacking big time and watery. The potato was undercooked. The pad thai was more like a cross between spaghetti and pad thai. Very red, saucy and super sweet. Probably again because it was a Chinese version of a thai dish. The mango sticky rice was not properly done either. It looked like rice soup. The very small portion of rice was drowning in milk and it was definitely not made with a real dessert sticky rice. The mango was hard as a rock(not fully ripe). 3. Terrible food and service! When we initially walked in I already had a bad feeling about the place since it smelled like fish and old oil. We waited for our food for 40 minutes without our waitress coming over to let us know what was going on or even to say "I'm sorry about the wait but your food should be coming out shortly....." instead we sat there waiting.... After eating our tempura appetizer of hard un cooked sweet potato/yam, 2 tiny quarter asparagus twigs and a couple onion rings . We had nothing to do but look around at the pitiful dining room. The place is a very small dingy and dark room with disgusting old drapes that look like something you'd see in a funeral home with sagging ceiling tiles. I am sure they were loaded with dust! They tried to make it look as if you're at a fine dining restaurant with linen table cloths covered by a glass top. However that was only to protect the table cloth from getting soiled by the messy waitress who spilled the tempura sauce all over. Finally our dinner plates get served to the table after 40 minutes of waiting. I ordered the broccoli/mushroom chicken with oyster sauce. It was nothing more than 2 day old freezer burned chicken in a watery brown sauce with frozen broccoli. My husband ordered the cashew chicken which he received the same old rubbery chicken. First, this review is only on the sushi. We did not order Thai food. I was very disappointed and bummed. I really wanted to like this place. Unlike other reviews, this will be quick and to the point. 1. Tuna was light pink and the whitish membranes was all over. Really? Light pink. Talking about bland and chewy. Yuck. 2. Yellow tail. Had a foul fishy almost chemical taste. 3. Escobar (White Tuna) just wrong. Buttery flavor was more like dirty ocean water. 4. The roll was spicy tuna, salmon and something else. Fell apart tasted like grocery store sushi. The rice didn't hold anything. The second you pick up the nigiri, it just fell apart I am giving 2 stars because the service was nice and fast. My daughter chose the basil wraps, while I got vegetable spring rolls. Both were delicious, although hers was heavy on the greens vs shrimp. We both got pad thai, mine with tofu, hers with shrimp. Both were delicious. My dish was saucy and flavorful and the tofu crispy and chewy, just as it should be. My daughter's only complaint was that she got just 4 shrimp. That is a bit chintzy, IMHO. The should've been given 8-10 because they were on the smaller size. I should mention it was during lunch on a weekend too. Quality ingredients make a huge difference. You can taste the difference here. Authentic Thai offerings, expertly prepared -simply delicious. We dropped in for a pickup order on a busy holiday night and staff were a little overwhelmed but remained upbeat, friendly, and helpful. I also had the spring rolls as an appetizer. They were fresh and crisp but not a lot of flavor and the filling was just plain. Went to Lemon Grass hoping for a delicious teriyaki chicken bowl. The steam rice on one side on my To-go box was drenched in a soupy teriyaki sauce, very undesirable. The chicken - few pieces received look a couple days old and from what I can see there is hot water at the bottom of the dish. Will not go back. 13 wasted dollars. My friend absolutely loves this restaurant so I've eaten here about 4 times and gotten take-out another 4ish times. We usually have this really lovely waitress who sometimes wears a duck tie that I think is incredibly cute. In terms of the food, I've generally liked everything that I've gotten here, most recently the yellow curry (I don't usually order this) which was unexpectedly good! I like their other curries (so far have had green and massaman) and the noodle dishes and sushi are pretty decent as well. My friend loves their nam sod (with plum sauce on the side), gyoza, and ALWAYS gets pork fried rice which is delicious. The only thing I've really hated is the basil roll because it has fennel or something in it that I just don't like. But overall, I think Lemon Grass is a standard Thai place with pretty solid food! read more

The dish I ordered had two peppers by it on the menu, so I was thinking it would have a nice amount of heat. It had no heat. I had to add gobs of chili flakes and sauce to it. A pretty decent Thai food restaurant in Maryville. Usually get Thai basil with pork and it's good. The pad Thai with tofu could be a little better but it's decent enough.
