I took my wife and mother to Foothills Milling Company to celebrate them as mothers as a Mother's Day gift. The service provided by Sergio was exemplary, and we just cannot say enough good things about him. Hard-working, always attentive without ever being over-bearing, kind, respectful, and very knowledgeable about every menu item we asked about. We know we can sometimes ask a lot of our servers, and Sergio never hesitated or faltered in providing some of the best service we have EVER experienced. Kudos to Sergio! Not to leave out the rest of the staff - the manager and everyone else we were in contact with were exceedingly warm and welcoming. And the food! Wow! Everything we ordered (soups, lobster, steaks, and desserts) was perfectly prepared and also among the best meals any of us have ever had. My wife and I have spent a lot of time in Southern Carolina and have become huge fans of She Crab soup and we didn't think we would ever have soup as good as we get there, but we were wrong. The She Crab soup at Foothills Milling Company was better than any we've ever had, anywhere. The steaks were cooked to the perfect temperature and were seasoned just right, and the lobster was amazing. This was seriously among the best dining experiences any of us have ever had, and we will happily recommend Foothills Milling Company to everyone we know. We cannot wait for our next visit. A wonderful dining experience...definitely suggest reservations! I was lucky enough to get a table as a walk-in, and was very happy I did. The ambiance is nice, and the wait staff welcoming and helpful. My table attendant Sergio was excellent, paying just enough attention but not too much that it was smothering. He greeted me with a smile, and definitely seemed dedicated to making my visit special. I am a vegetarian, so they had a special menu for vegetarians and vegans. I decided on the Orechiette Mushroom Pasta, with a nice South American Malbec. So happy with both...the pasta was delicious, with the mushrooms and tomatoes cooked and spiced to perfection. We went for our anniversary this month. We previously went for my birthday in August. FM officially has the very best filet I've ever had in my entire life. I've had it twice now. I can't seem to order anything else. The first time I got it Oscar style. It wasn't worth the cost upgrade for the 2 table spoons of crab, but the filet literally melts in your mouth. This time I got the steak and potatoes filet dish but subbed the truffle sauce. It was freaking amazing. My husband loved both dishes he had over the two visits. Came here for our anniversary. Our server was so wrapped up in "the experience" that we had to interrupt him to ask him to take our drink orders. I am not a big eater so I only ordered an entree. He brought my husband his salad and eventually his entree. In spite of me ordering and my husband repeating my order, he didn't put in my food order so I got nothing. When we spoke to the manager, she defended him! Tried to say that they could rush my meal. But my husband had been sitting with food for 10 minutes; his would be cold by that point. She did end up comping my husband's entree but we paid for his salad and my drink. There was never any genuine concern about what happened. They ruined my anniversary and humiliated me. read more

First of all this was one my first fancy dining experience and I loved it! We had reservations for 3 at 7:30 and were seated maybe 10 minutes past our reservation time, which I'm not mad about at all. That's pretty quick and well worth that little 10 minute wait. The restaurant was dimly lit and played relaxing jazz music so I'd say it an amazing date night spot or a girls night out when you want to dress up. The service was amazing and I was NEVER without water. The waitress always ensured we were doing well and made sure the food was to our liking. The food was absolutely divine! I ordered the horseradish crusted grouper which I loved because it was seasoned to perfection and I enjoyed my portion size. My coworker ordered the shrimp & grits, she said it was really spicy (she's Hispanic) and too salty for her. She is pregnant though so idk if that plays a role in her taste buds. What an incredible overall experience. My wife and I came for a business function and knew about the outstanding reputation here. Not disappointed at all. Started the night with a charcuterie board, fresh shrimp, and some of the best crab cakes I've ever had, top 2 or 3. A wonderful salad set up the filet and vegetables. We are frequent fliers and have tried most things on the menu. My wife's go-to is the stroganoff and mine is the lasagna. I've had the lasagna a bunch of times and it's always very consistent.....until this time. All I could taste was ricotta, the normally pronounced/nuanced fennel sausage taste didn't stand out at all and not enough of the normal amount of sauce. Stroganoff was perfect as always. The most delicious meal! My husband and I went out with a group a friends for Valentine's Day. We all had a great time. My husband isn't one for fancy restaurants much but when we left and he said that it was so delicious & was very full. He always thinks fancy = small portions, so he was happy it was not like that here. I got the scallop dinner and scallops are my favorite food to eat ever. They were so delicious. My husband said his duck two ways was great but one tasted better than the other. Each appetizer on the table was very delicious but the best was the truffle cheese. We celebrated our 44th Anniversary last night at Foothills Milling and as usual had a wonderful time. The food is always delicious and the presentation is just beautiful. Our server, Jordyn, was a delight. We started with the escargot, served on mushrooms, with a generous amount of butter and garlic. Jordyn bought us our breadbasket a little early in case we wanted to sop up the remaining butter once we finished the escargot. Who wouldn't? I had the Tempura Lobster Tails, served with Jasmine rice and baby green beans. Just wonderful. My wife had the Yankee Pot Roast, which was excellent and so generous she had enough for a lunch today. I'm sure this won't be there the next time we make it out there, but I wish they could keep it on the menu and just change the name to fit the season. It was one of the best vodka drinks I've ever had. Appetizer: cheese dip and potatoes (Truffle fondue). Really rich - might have done well to get a lighter starter but it was so good. Fondue style. A lot of things could be approved, but the food was a MAJOR letdown. We had the pork rinds and pimento cheese for starters and it was so bland and flavorless. I had the duck two ways (which lacked flavor in both ways) and my boyfriend had the steak Diane which was overcooked, had a weird texture, and the sauce tasted like it had been sitting out all day. I will say the bread was the BEST part of the meal, the sweet bread and the focaccia were both tasty, but it's sad when that's the star. Omg. This was such an elevated luxurious experience. The truffle fondue was so good we were dipping our bread in it after we finished all the vegetables. It seemed like the food just kept coming. I don't even know what the little fried cheese ball was but that was good, then the appetizer and they brought us bread, then a sorbet to cleanse our palate, then the entree. I was happy to enjoy it that night AND the next day with the leftovers. The lobster was amazing. The rice it was on top of was buttered to perfection. It was definitely different than how lobster is usually served, but the sweet Thai chili sauce really brought it to the next level. The staff were kind and our waitress was great. I came to the beautiful state of Tennessee for a wedding in late October. I stayed at a marvelous AirBnB in Maryville. And on my first night there, I decided to check this place out. It had marvelous reviews across multiple different websites. So I made my reservations and sat down in their cozy, candlelit dining room. We started off with a free little ham and cheese style croquette. So that was nice. It was cute, and it tasted nice. Thennn, I got an app. The Spicy fried Mississippi quail (Served with house made buffalo sauce, shaved celery ranch salad and blue cheese ice cream). This is the reason this place got five stars. I love whoever thought of this. First of all, quail is delicious. Not everyone knows that, and I was a little surprised to see it in Maryville, TN. Anyway, it was fried to perfection, and tossed in that sauce with expert precision. So crispy, and just enough meat for a quail. The play on the regular chicken wings accompaniments was really fun. The celery salad dressed in ranch and the blue cheese ice cream really cut down the minimal heat that the quail put out. This was excellent. Get this. Then came out another freebie. Some sort of lemon sorbet, for a nice palate cleanser. Very nice. For my entree, I couldn't skip the Braised Pork Collar (Served with apple butter bbq sauce, green tomato chowchow, aged cheddar grit cake and braised greens). And I picked correctly. This pork was fall-to-pieces tender. The green tomato chowchow/chutney was a nice, Southern touch. And the grit cake gave you that carb that you needed to sop up the juice and finish off that sauce. This is a unique item, and you need to get this, too. I also got to try the Maple Leaf Farms Duck Two Ways (Seared duck breast cooked to medium beside a pecan and apple smoked leg quarter, served with soft polenta, roasted broccolini, and port cherry reduction). I know, duck is exciting. But you can skip this one. The duck was cooked fine, but the seasoning was a little bland, and the sides were a little uninspired. Don't get me wrong. It wasn't bad. There was just a lot left on that menu that I thought would have been better. Finally, we ended with dessert. A mixed berry galette with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. This thing was HUGE. And it was delicious. Very flakey crust, a ton of berries, and that cool cool vanilla ice cream to make this feel very homey. Overall, this place was very very good. Probably the best place in Maryville. So if you're doing anything here or in nearby Knoxville, give this place a try. You won't regret it. read more

I visited Foothills Milling over the holidays and immediately fell in love with it. I had what I believe to be the best steak I've ever had. I have been hearing about this place for years, but never took the time to go and now I actively try to get people to go with me every chance I get. It is a high-end dining experiece, but casual dress is okay. I am sure they have kids that dine there, but I would not say it is necessarily "kid friendly." They have a very large variety of food for most preferences and they do an amazing job of accomodating for allergies as much as possible. Impeccable service with pacing between courses, excellent menu with southern style entrees, and everything was delicious.
