We went to have a late dinner walked in only 1 couple in the lobby the hostess looked at another employee and said aren't we still on that wait...no one in the lobby or outside waiting we were told it would be 15 minutes OK she took my phone number said we would get a text 2 customers came in same instructions they sat down outside in 5 minutes the came in to get their table I turned towards my husband and said if she seats them we are leaving...She took them to a table and we left went to the Food City it was 30 minutes later when we got a text our table was ready we have always loved Corner 16 but the last couple of times we have been there it hasn't been good!! After a long day of unpacking boxes, my husband and I came here to get out of the house and grab some food. We had heard about it from a few people and decided to try it out. Walking in it's open and plenty of seating. Our server was super friendly and had some great recommendations. We got the french dip burger with onion rings and the fish and chips. The food came out pretty fast with no problems. The burger was cooked to my liking and had plenty of flavor. The real stand out was the onion rings though. Super crispy and well battered. Didn't seem like the ones that you get at most places that get soggy super fast. These ones stayed nice and crispy. The fish and chips were battered nicely and very flaky. Great flavor. While finishing up at Silver Creek Dental, we asked the receptionist where we should eat lunch and she said she eats at Corner 16 all the time. Off we went! We were seated without a wait and our orders were taken quickly. Our waitress, Summer, handled my nut allergy professionally and with style. I ordered the pork chop with a side of cornbread dressing (hence the need to check for nuts) and my husband got the fish and chips. I was glad the chops came with the spicy/sweet sauce on the side, as it was tasty but too spicy for me. The chop was thick and cooked perfectly. The dressing was almost too salty but yummy. I wish there had been a wee bit more of the quinoa rice than what came with it. My husband loved the fish and chips and remarked that there was more fish than coating, a rarity nowadays. Very disappointed with recent experience at this Corner 16 location. My daughter was served a raw hamburger after ordering from kids menu. She bit into it and became sick to her stomach and then we had to argue with the server to send it back because of course we must have ordered it that way. To add the ultimate insult to injury we were then charged double gratuity since we were part of a large group. My CC was charged $99 on a $65 ticket! Ambience is good and family friendly and other food ordered was decent, but poor experience makes me reluctant to return. read more

Food prep is mid--good... A little hit or miss. Poor execution and lack of detail. Definitely been there when it was fair-good and times when it was less than. Most recently, chicken sandwich was dry and compacted, tasted as if the "burger" was freezer to frying pan. Broccoli was put on the plate with the sandwich--rendering the bottom bun a worthless soggy mess. The fish (n'fries) was somewhat greasy and very small portion... fish came medium heat, as if not delivered straight from fryer, same with fries after explicitly requesting "hot" fries. Waitresses came back with a 1/2 order correction but didn't get them to me until after the meal was done. They have a real bird issue that I'm shocked doesn't violate Knoxville's Health Codes. Birds nesting above tables. We had to move our table as one bird, wanting to reclaim its rightful place from above, pooped just missing our table. It's obvious that these birds are well established--i.e., the management is in neglect of oversight for cleanliness. read more

Overall good experience. Ordered this for takeout and got a combination of different meals. Sadly we had a longer drive back so much was cooled off by the time we got home but I'm not complaining because it was still good! We got the pretzels with cheese and loaded tots for appetizers. the tots stole the show. I had the ale steak which was cooked perfectly however we didn't realize the French dip was literally a burger with au jus to dip in. Chicken tenders were good and so were the chicken and dumplings. 1 star knocked off because we were missing two sides and some of the sauces but it doesn't mean I won't go back and try again. Wow. Walked in the door and the Lucious smell of sizzling beef met us.i had the ranch burger with bacon and an egg with a side of onion rings. Awesome. Cooked to order and the rings were delicious. The sweet tea was also fabulous. I drank plenty of it. Service was great. I rewarded her nicely as I was extremely thirsty. Maybe due to the first day above freezing in a week plus. She was also a lot of fun as she picked at us before we could pick at her. What a hoot. Yeah that sounds old didn't it. Jake had the burnt ends in a Tennessee Whiskey BBQ sauce. This was supposed to be a side but was huge. They looked awesome and he said they were good. Near spot with lots of parking. We walked in and set in the bar area. Our daughter took us here for lunch. Were pleased with the expansive breezy patio. It was a lovely day with perfect temperature and a nice natural breeze, but they had a large fan set up just in case. We were also pleased with the menu selection. Dan and I shared a bacon, pimento cheese, and fried green tomato sandwich with a side of onion rings. I liked the onion rings. Dan prefers thicker onion rings that hold their shape better. I saw plates piled high with French fries. They looked awfully good. I think thats what I will order next time. We liked our sandwich except we would have preferred it a little less toasted. Also, the fried green tomatoes didn't hold up under the melted pimento cheese. I would have preferred them in my plate instead of in a sandwich. Our server, Natasha, gave us good service and was helpful to our daughter who is on a new food allergy diet. There's lots of interesting offerings on their menu that we want to try. I don't like to leave bad reviews, but the food and service at this place was bad. The smoked brisket sandwich was fatty and the bbq sauce we asked on the side tasted really bad. The salt and pepper chips tasted burnt or cooked with old burnt oil...No bueno. Our server was nice but she took a long time to get our bill when we were done with our meal...hence the bad reviews for service. There are way too many options to eat at this place with mediocre food...save your money and go elsewhere! read more

Celebration time for a great meal. We sat at a high top in the bar about 80 minutes before closing at 10pm. The waitress was friendly and answered our drink and food questions We ordered a cup of brisket and barely soup to start and them chicken and dumplings and pork chops with worchestire butter and a side of mushrooms. My whole trip across 3 states the food has been lacking and tonight we found a great meal. The soup was full of flavor, (doesn't need anymore salt.) And the chicken and dumplings were in a perfectly balanced gravy with very tender chicken. The dumplings were amazing taste and texture ( we wanted more than 2 though) The super star was the pork chops juicy and seasoned well with that great butter. The mushrooms were the perfect partner. We were even able to catch a beautiful sunset on the back deck where they have a bar and corn hole. If in TN again we would definitely eat here. Thank you. Thank you. read more

Recent changes to their menu was a good idea but fell horribly short. They removed their onion rings and nachos which were really good along with other items. Did not see any great improvement with the items they added. They should have asked their customers what they wanted. Recommend to bring back removed items and add some items their customers actually want. read more

Great menu and a lot of drink options. We sat outside and as the sun went down you so bake outside since there is no shade they can pull down to block the sun. The kids played corn-hole and had some spade to run around. They do live music but I'm not sure how often. Our server Spencer was great and was patient with us since we were in no hurry. We haven't been to this restaurant in a while (Covid put a damper on eating out) so we were excited to return. Our server, Leila, was attentive and efficient. She replaced our soft drinks whenever they were low and checked up on us to see how we were doing. The brisket chili was delicious and the wedge salad was one of the best I've had. Plated beautifully, it was at least a third of a head of lettuce. I could have had this alone with a glass of chilled Chardonnay and would have been content. The menu includes several great appetizers (think a hot summer repast with an appetizer and chilled glass of wine). There is a full bar. The drink prices (wine) are reasonably. Milkshakes and Ice Cream Sodas are only $5. Bathrooms are spotless. The atmosphere is sports bar casual. The bar is separated from the main dining area by floor to ceiling glass windows. A large outdoor dining area is complete with a children's play area. What's not to love about this place. It's hidden from the main road so set your GOS and give it a try. read more

So we went on a whim. This place will be in our rotation every time we come to Knoxville. The smoked sausage and cheese player was amazing. With enough for four people. My wife and I barely made a dent. Fresh jalapeños and brilliant smoked sausage and pepper jack cheese. With a huge helping of pimento cheese. Very good. I had the hot honey chicken sandwich with smoked potatoes. Again well done. Small annoyance. They MIGHT be using liquid smoke. Not certain. My wife's chicken and dumplings were the best we have had in a long time. If you are debating whether to make the trip do it. I don't recommend chains that many times but go. Also of note their porter is really a good home brew porter. read more

We started with wings in their signature sauce. They were great, good portion. He had the chicken sandwich with pimento cheese and bacon. He said he wish he had ordered the pimento and bacon sandwich- the chicken did add but took away from the other flavors. He got the tomato pie- it seemed much smaller than when he had it before. We went on a Sunday after a friend's suggestion. Short wait which is expected for Sunday lunch. I ordered a beer and checked out the menu. I guess cheap plastic pint glasses are a thing. At first I thought I was gonna have to sit at the kids table with Fischer price utensils but thankfully just plastic bar ware. Moving right along, they have some good build your own burger options and a few nice brunch items on the sweet side. Sides were pretty basic. Our service was great, attentive and able to deliver special requests easily. The wedge salad add on was a monster portion. Pretty good meatloaf and the build your own burger was a nice take. We liked the enclosed patio with heaters as a nice touch. A family friendly spot with an area for the kids to run free. Really a great place. Loved the vibe. Very comfortable experience. The service was outstanding and the menu options were varied and really offered a range of options. Our server was perfect too. I got the pimento cheese sandwich with a fried green apple and bacon. It was delish. One of my daughters had the brisket soup. But only was it a yooge bowl but it was chock full of goodness and although the idea of brisket in a soup might seem strange, Trust me when I tell you, it was truly yummy. My other daughter had the smothered chicken. While she's not a 'smothered' kinda eater, the chicken was perfectly flavored and prepared. She loved it without the smothering. Oh don't worry, the rest of us made sure that part didn't go to waste! Oh and as a starter we had the tomato pie. They're little pies with oooey gooey cheese and tomatoes in a cute little pie, like a quiche. If you're a tomato person (yes I am) these will be something to try. They were fantastic. OBTW the drink selection and local beer variety was superb. Really a great dining experience. We'll have to come back in the spring or summer because the patio area looks like fun too. read more

To start the afternoon off I began with a wonderful hostess Letha Bosworth and the Main server Jonah Lane Leading to the ordering the location of the table was wonderful per request of being seated near a view of the Game on Tv, it's a very calm ambiance, with subtle music in the background very warm vibe with the lights lowered to a respectable level and great servers I would see them all pass by with a smile and having fun with their jobs joking with each other and truly making the environment a great place to have a meal weather it be Friends, solo, family! The order was Fried Green Tomatoes, Ale Pork Chops with a side of smokehouse potatoes, My drink for the afternoon was a glass of sweet tea with a side lemon it was wonderfully sweet and also not bitter common found in restaurants it will remind you of your hometown diner with homemade sweet tea. Well done over all 6.8/10 The starter of Fried Green Tomatoes is wonderful the tomatoes were not too stiff but still held good composure when fried over all 7.2/10 The Main Course the Ale Pork Chops are very Moist and hold plenty of moisture not dry AT ALL very tender not over cooked along with the butter placed on top of the chops themselves is wonderfully flavored not just your ordinary bland butter it's seasoned amazingly, the Smokehouse potatoes will remind you of your mamas early morning holiday hash-brown casserole. We were sat by the kitchen. I mean this random table on the wall right next to the doors for the kitchen. We ordered food and app together and waited. Not the longest wait but when we saw a mouse we couldn't wait to leave. The doors to the outdoor area with the games and such was across from the kitchen. The mouse left the kitchen and went out. Our food eventually came and my wife and I tried to power through. The overcooked and greasy food just made it impossible. We couldn't take more than a few bites and asked for the check. The Monte Cristo sandwich was delicious as well as the onion rings, would definitely order again. The meatloaf that my dining partner had said that it was ok. I was disappointed that I had originally ordered the every day $6 margarita and when she said the special today was pineapple jalapeño margarita and I ordered that it ended up being $12, especially since it was nothing great.
