Tomato Pie, broccoli, tater tots (I started eating before I took this cuz I was hungry)

Went for another friend's birthday. It was still good. Lots of fried foods that were crispy and tasty. Service wqs fine and the ambiance was pleasant. There weren't as many people as usual but it was still fun.

Bird crap! Nests above tables AND birds sitting on lighting ropes above tables and kids play area.

Food prep is mid--good... A little hit or miss. Poor execution and lack of detail. Definitely been there when it was fair-good and times when it was less than. Most recently, chicken sandwich was dry and compacted, tasted as if the "burger" was freezer to frying pan. Broccoli was put on the plate with the sandwich--rendering the bottom bun a worthless soggy mess. The fish (n'fries) was somewhat greasy and very small portion... fish came medium heat, as if not delivered straight from fryer, same with fries after explicitly requesting "hot" fries. Waitresses came back with a 1/2 order correction but didn't get them to me until after the meal was done. They have a real bird issue that I'm shocked doesn't violate Knoxville's Health Codes. Birds nesting above tables. We had to move our table as one bird, wanting to reclaim its rightful place from above, pooped just missing our table. It's obvious that these birds are well established--i.e., the management is in neglect of oversight for cleanliness.

Our daughter took us here for lunch. Were pleased with the expansive breezy patio. It was a lovely day with perfect temperature and a nice natural breeze, but they had a large fan set up just in case. We were also pleased with the menu selection. Dan and I shared a bacon, pimento cheese, and fried green tomato sandwich with a side of onion rings. I liked the onion rings. Dan prefers thicker onion rings that hold their shape better. I saw plates piled high with French fries. They looked awfully good. I think thats what I will order next time. We liked our sandwich except we would have preferred it a little less toasted. Also, the fried green tomatoes didn't hold up under the melted pimento cheese. I would have preferred them in my plate instead of in a sandwich. Our server, Natasha, gave us good service and was helpful to our daughter who is on a new food allergy diet. There's lots of interesting offerings on their menu that we want to try. That includes some $6 cocktails and $7 martinis. I had a cosmo. I want to try their classic martini. For $1 extra we can get Tito's. We will be back.

Celebration time for a great meal. We sat at a high top in the bar about 80 minutes before closing at 10pm. The waitress was friendly and answered our drink and food questions We ordered a cup of brisket and barely soup to start and them chicken and dumplings and pork chops with worchestire butter and a side of mushrooms. My whole trip across 3 states the food has been lacking and tonight we found a great meal. The soup was full of flavor, (doesn't need anymore salt.) And the chicken and dumplings were in a perfectly balanced gravy with very tender chicken. The dumplings were amazing taste and texture ( we wanted more than 2 though) The super star was the pork chops juicy and seasoned well with that great butter. The mushrooms were the perfect partner. We were even able to catch a beautiful sunset on the back deck where they have a bar and corn hole. If in TN again we would definitely eat here. Thank you. Thank you.

The building and dining area are fine. The service is slow and indifferent, the food very plain and unexciting.

I really wanted to love this place. My husband and I were so excited to try it--the atmosphere…read morelooked great and we were expecting a fun brunch experience--but it ended up being one of the most disappointing dining experiences we've had. Right when we walked in, we were asked if we had a reservation. It was our first time, so we didn't realize one was needed. When I said no and asked if we should have had one, the host responded, "Oh, that would have helped." That alone felt a little off-putting. We even offered to come back another time, but she said they had a table available--just that it was reserved for 1:00 PM (it was 11:55). We asked if that meant we'd need to leave by then, and while they tried to reassure us, it definitely set the tone for a rushed experience. We had barely sat down when the waitress immediately asked if we were ready to order. Caught off guard, we asked for water and coffee first. As soon as those arrived, we quickly ordered beignets, chicken and waffles, and biscuits and gravy--trying to be mindful of their time constraint. Unfortunately, our food took over 35 minutes to come out... which didn't align at all with the expectation that we'd be out before 1:00. When it finally arrived, the food was underwhelming at best. The chicken was okay, but the waffles and biscuits and gravy were cold. And the service? Just as cold. Overall, the experience felt rushed, unwelcoming, and disappointing from start to finish. Needless to say, we won't be returning. I truly hope they reconsider how they treat guests--especially first-time visitors who come in excited to try their restaurant.

I had not been in DECADES -- but someone mentioned that they did a good chicken-fried steak, so I had to try. (I'm from Texas where CFS is part of the holy Trinity of Mexican, barbecue and CFS). Well, the CFS was pretty good, but I won't say great. Big, well-breaded, tasty and with good white gravy. But the sides were superb; I had fried green tomatoes and potato salad. I loved the chow-chow sauce combined with ranch dressing on the FGT, and the salad was very creamy and tasty. I'm not a potato salad snob; I've had it done many ways and I know some prefer one style over another....all I know is this went fast. Oh, by the way, it's a BIG meal. No person should eat all of that in one setting! I nearly forgot, I loved the cheese biscuit. It was very dense and so tasty. Hard to stop eating that before I packaged up about half my meal (and enjoyed very much the next day). Amenities-- they sell beer; even though I did not have that day, I know some meals I'd have loved to add a well-priced bottle. Service was great, friendly and responsive. I like the places that let me scan a QR code to pay and tip, and they had that. Also offered lots of desserets, both at the table and with a little bakery corner when you walk in/out, so you could pick up cookies, etc. At first I thought it was a bit pricey ($17 for most meat-and-two plates), but with the quality, worth it all. Oh, I even enjoyed the clientele...this is the kind of place full of older folks, one of whom had to comment on my food as she walked out, and then she stood and chatted with me a few minutes about how good it all was. Classic!

Not a big breakfast fan but I had to find a casual place to meet someone for brunch. Maple Street…read morewas a good choice. I ordered The Farmer, a chicken biscuit with cheese, bacon, and apple butter. The biscuit was warm and fresh, the bacon was crispy, and the chicken patty was quite substantial. The poor thing was drowning in apple butter though, which made it too wet (and too sweet). Even scraping some of it off it was already too soggy. A tad less sauce and it would be perfectly balanced. The smashbrowns had a nice crisp and I enjoyed the kick of the pepper jam. Also, big fan of the cute coffee bar. I could taste the hints of maple in the coffee. If I have to eat out for breakfast, Maple Street seems to be a good choice. And yes, this location is on Kingston Pike not Maple Street.

Came here to grab breakfast recently and had an OK experience…read more Parking was straightforward since the restaurant has a reasonably large parking lot shared with a few other businesses. Inside, you order at the counter (as opposed to having a server), which was actually fine with me. Everything on the menu was pretty caloric, which I guess makes sense since the restaurant serves "comfort food," but I think it'd be nice to have a few lighter options. Overall, the sausage sandwich I got was decent but nothing crazy good. My wife's experience with her Power Bowl was similar. I'll probably skip this place next time and try a different breakfast spot, but it was a decent experience.
