The first thing you notice is the incredible noise. . Everything echoes off the walls. I could not carry on a conversation with my wife without leaning over the table. The lunch portions (pictured) were perfect. My wife ordered the Sweet and Sour chicken which was quite tasty. I ordered Kung Pao chicken which was described as being served in a spicy sauce and Hot and Sour Soup. Though the soup was served hot it was however not at all hot. Nor was the Kung Pao. I have seen good things about the chicken wings so I may be inclined to try those.

We originally thought it might have been one of our hair, since I have short black hair, but this was cooked into the breading and sauce.

First time eating from there and found a hair. I get it, accidents happen. But the food quality really was not that great. Lo Mein tasted sweet and like spaghetti, chicken fried rice was okay, just not impressed. We thought originally the hair could have been mine because I have short black hair, but when we tried to move it we realized it was cooked into the breading.

Pad Thai, came with lime and peanuts.

Great Asian restaurant in Maryville. The cashier was helpful and nice, the food came out fast, hot and tasted great. Will be back to try more menu items!

    Some kind of gravel???

First time there today. The person who gave me my order was nice but kept smirking and giggling. He did have his gold chain stuck to his chin, felt like someone bet him to see if anyone would say something. I didnt. Got home and all the sauce was at the bottom of my bag yet the container was closed. The fried rice tasted old ( very dry) as I was eating I crunched something and found this in my food. The meat and vegetables tasted delicious until I crunched yet again. Threw the whole thing in the trash. Not a good first experience. Will not be back.

    Curry fried rice.

I ordered "curry fried rice". Before I got my order, they asked me what kind of rice I wanted. I said fried rice, because that is what I had already ordered. The sauce and shrimp were to the right of the rice. I had figured they would be mixed in. They weren't. The rice was average; the sauce was definitely not curry. It was fine. This is definitely an Americanized Chinese place. Definitely not authentic. But, it's OK. Just another in the long line of average to mediocre places to eat in East Tennessee.

Very disappointed with our visit. I had high hopes, as this place had good reviews on Google, but our first visit will be our last. It was $70 for: 1 chicken pad thai, 1 sweet and sour chicken, 1 general tso chicken with white rice, 1 Sesame chicken with lo mein, and 1 order of pork dumplings. $70 is definitely on the higher end, but considering the food we received, $70 is outrageous. The service was okay. She got my order wrong initially, but that probably could have been avoided if she had just written down our orders, instead of trying to memorize them. To be blunt, the food was not good. There was not a single thing that I would recommend. *The dumplings tasted like they had been frozen & microwaved. Tons of cabbage. *The sesame's chicken had only a few pieces of Sesame in it and it had a "sweet and sour/orange chicken" flavor. It didn't taste like sesame chicken at all. It was very stringy chicken. *The general tso chicken was weirdly shaped and didn't have much breading or the traditional sauce. The white rice was pretty average. *The sweet and sour chicken was tough. It's served with a lot of pineapple and bell pepper/onion (that's not really a critique, but take note if you have an allergy or are anti-pineapple/onion/pepper.) *The pad thai was average. Nothing bad to say about it but nothing great to say about it either. *The most disappointing food was the lo mein. It was horrid. I swear to God- I am 99% sure they used just regular spaghetti noodles. The noodles were too soft and didn't have the tooth that normal lo mein has. The sauce tasted like straight soy sauce with a mushroom flavor. It was watery. Lo Mein shouldn't be watery. And before you roll your eyes at me, just give me the benefit of the doubt and look at the picture and then if you disagree you can judge me. I scooped the noodles into the box so you could see how much liquid was sloshing around. I really wanted to like this place. But no dice. Onward and upward

It was too oily and didn't taste like Chinese to be honest. Unfortunately as nice as the staff were I probably won't go back.

My first review for my hobby: Bert's Feast or Flop, where I review my experiences with restaurants…read moreand fast food places to determine whether they are a FEAST or a FLOP. I wanted to start with Thai Cuisine in Maryville because this place deserves more business. Food: 5/5 The food tastes amazing! Everything was cooked perfectly, tasted fresh and you can tell it was made by a chef who truly cares about their cooking. The portion sizes and presentation were excellent and very filling. This was my first time ever trying curry, and I was extremely impressed -- I loved every bite. If you're ever curious about trying curry, get the Yellow Curry. The spice levels range from 1-5, and I got level 2. It had great heat without overpowering the flavors. I also had a bite of my mother's Tornado Shrimp, and it was fried and sauced perfectly. It's hard to sauce fried food well, but Thai Cuisine does it perfectly every time. The vegetables were cooked to perfection too -- they had a great crunch without tasting raw. Lastly, the potstickers are the best in Maryville! ‍ Service: 5/5 The service was professional and super friendly. Our server, Yolanda, was incredibly helpful when it came to deciding which curry I should try and what protein paired best with it. The pacing of the service was excellent because we had time to enjoy our appetizer without feeling rushed into our entrée. You can also tell the cook(s) is passionate about what they do. Atmosphere: 4.5/5 The restaurant was very clean, and the vibes were exactly what you'd expect from a Thai restaurant. My only nitpick was that we were seated next to another group even though there was plenty of space in the restaurant where we could've had a little more room to ourselves. Value: 5/5 The portions absolutely matched the value of what we ordered. I know eating out can get expensive nowadays, but this place is absolutely worth the price they charge. Final Thoughts I absolutely adore Thai Cuisine in Maryville and the employees who work there. They're always friendly and always deliver great food. This will always be one of my go-to spots whenever I'm craving a fresh meal. I just wish this restaurant wasn't so hidden because more people deserve to discover and try it. I'd love to see them move to a more noticeable location someday. If you love Thai food, this is the place to go for a guaranteed great experience! FEAST Overall Rating: 5/5 Would I Go Back?: YES

Yelped Ming Tree before I left work and ordered take out when I arrived. The wait was about 15 min which is average. They do not have paper menus to take with for future ordering. There wasn't any sauce in the bag for my egg rolls. I ordered the shrimp w lobster sauce in the "brown" sauce as it is served in a clear sauce at this place. I ordered the garlic shrimp some wonton soup and egg rolls and veg lo mein. My bill was $60+. The food was pretty tasty although the wonton soup was very "clear" and had 2 wontons that were so small. This was not good at all and I asked for a large and received a pint. So there is that. The egg rolls were burnt and there wasn't much to those either. Plus I had to ask for the sauce. Now the shrimp w lobster sauce, the garlic shrimp and the lo mein were very tasty and of adequate portion for the price. I do think I will reorder from here on my way home in the future and try some other dishes. Ming Tree has the most flavor in their food in this area. So yay for that!!!

The first thing that stood out was how clean everything was, followed by the quick and friendly service that got us seated right away. The menu offered a great variety of choices. My wife ordered the Sweet and Sour Pork with Lo Mein, which included chicken, pork, and shrimp -- everything was fresh and full of flavor. I went with the General Chow's Chicken. The sauce was tasty without being too spicy, and the rice was perfectly cooked and fresh. I had my mind set on Orange Chicken, which they didn't have, but with so many other good options, it wasn't a problem. The prices are very reasonable and competitive with other local spots. Thanks to the Ming Tree team for a great dining experience -- we'll definitely be back!
