This place is a perfect place to get yourself affordable food, very nice people and amazing food! You can sit down inside it's nice and cozy or you can just take your food to-go! read more

The wait staff wasn't very friendly and appeared to be irritated that it took some time to review the extensive menu. One of the dishes we ordered (cashew chicken) was incorrect (we received cashew shrimp) and by the time we realized it the cook and the wait staff were eating their lunch and clearly didn't want to be bothered. The other dish, Szechuan pork was pretty good, but the pork was dry and didn't taste fresh. Other items, soup, egg rolls etc, were mediocre. They seem to do a lot of carry out business and from the looks of their dining room, discourage eating in! read more

Great food! Miss the buffet. Nice people that own it. Can't complain. Great for takeout

Absolutely the best Singapore Noodles as well as coconut chicken I've had in Knoxville. The owners are super sweet and it's always fresh fresh..piping hot! read more

The lady taking orders does not speak much English. She said "No-egg rolls"!. I pointed to the menu and said "Yes-egg rolls"! We got home and I guess she proved me wrong. No egg rolls! This restaurant could use some serious cleaning. We used to eat here a couple of times a month. We have decided to end our visits. The dirty door, floors and walls...just gross. You should see their bathrooms. I was only going to wash my hands. I was too afraid to touch anything. We did not eat the food we brought home. After seeing what we did, we were ashamed for not speaking up and leaving. This place has gone downhill! read more

We order from here regularly and are never disappointed. Their sauces are very flavorful, and the meat is always tender and juicy. Far superior to other Asian restaurants in the area! We like that their sauces aren't over corn starched. I would highly recommend their Mongolian Beef or Hunan Beef. Their egg rolls are also fantastic. Nice and crispy and not all shell like many other places. Chen Garden always comes in for the win! read more

Ordered from Grubhub.. ordered crab Rangoon, it was good. Shrimp Egg Rolls, not good, blackened and not very stuffed. Hot and sour Soup, bad, kinda hot and no sour but sweet, yuck. I will leave the grub hub portion with grub hub, that's a different matter. read more

Always consistent quality, very quick on takeout, and large portion sizes good for sharing. The orange chicken and kung pao are family favorites. read more

Decent Chinese close to the house. Reasonably priced. Generous serving size. Some dishes have been awesome (hot and sour soup, spicy beef, lo mein, kung pao etc)... some miss. The crab rangoon doesn't have much crab. The General Tso chicken has zero heat! Not one pepper. The fried rice could use more egg. read more

This is a really good Chinese restaurant on Oak Ridge highway. They have a small dining room and have a small buffet for lunch. They do a lot of takeout. The staff is friendly but the important thing is that the food here is great. It's one of my favorites in the Knoxville area. Try the Mala Chicken. I haven't seen this on any other menus around here, and it's fantastic. Lots of chicken, mushrooms, garlic and slightly sweet and spicy. Very tasty and my favorite dish here! read more

I had the chicken hibachi. The vegetables were plentiful as well as the chicken but that's as positive as I can say. The chicken was overcooked/dried out, the hibachi came in a lot of liquid (not something I normally see with hibachi), and the flavor was extremely sweet like it was cooked in honey and water only. The fried rice was super bland. We thought we would try something new but I won't be ordering here again for hibachi. read more

Great food and always on time. Love the egg foo young and crab wontons and coconut chicken and.... Have tried several items and they are all great. read more

Clearly someone who left a review doesn't know about a typical Chinese takeout restaurant. They offer you seating, but they are mostly take out. So no they do not provide cups or "service." Super fast. Super friendly. I miss the kid that moved up north, but the new one is learning. The food is delicious, not greasy. The rice could be better, portions could be bigger, but overall I've been very pleased throughout the years. read more

My review is really a 2.5. Take out is really the only option though seating is available. We were on the road and without a place to bring take out home to, so we opted to sit at one of the available tables. Unfortunately, the only drink options were canned sugary drinks and bottled water and the staff lacked reusable cups for tap water. Don't think I've experienced that before. The crab wontons were tasty and for a good value. I had the sesame chicken and my boyfriend had orange chicken, but it was tough to tell the difference due to the consistency of the sauces. The large cup of dipping sauce. . . I think it was supposed to be sweet and sour. . . Was also the same consistency. A bit gross. The facility was clean and the staff was perfectly friendly but I won't be back. read more

Ordered take out since right next to my dentist. Good food, fast turnaround. Had the veggie moo shu and crab rangoons.

Really 3.5 but I can't do that on here. Lunch buffet price is right. The cheese wontons were on point, and the staff had a smile. Will be back next time I Amin the area for training. read more

This is your typical chinese restaurant, which I am almost convinced follows some kind of generic template with a blank line for for the name. That said, the food isn't bad. I cannot speak about the buffet or dine in service, every time I've been there was to grab take out. My favorite dish may be the teriyaki chicken sticks from the appetizer menu. read more

Chen Garden Restaurant - Chen Garden - Chinese Near Me - Knoxville, Tennessee

Food was hot and delivered quickly however both chicken meals tasted like old grease The fried rice was extremely bland and the egg drop soup was greenish colored. Very disappointing especially due to how much I spent. read more

Really bad. Fried dumplings were soggy and house special lo mein had 1 shrimp, no beef and 4 strips of pork. $40 and threw 3/4 of it away. Won't order from here again. read more

I love this place, one of my favorites. We get take out here all the time. Food is fast, fresh and excellent. Highly recommend it. Staff is super friendly. read more

Had the lunch buffet. It's a small place so the food was super fresh. Not a lot was made ahead so there was a little wait, but that meant everything was piping hot. read more

This place is a favorite little spot of mine for a quick lunch. It's small, and kind of hidden, but the food is good! Their take out is good quality and is reasonably priced. They also have a small buffet for under 7 bucks or so in the afternoon. The staff is friendly, and the place is always clean. It's a nice little spot for some quick Asian food. This is one of my trusty "go to" restaurants when I don't know what I want. It's not the best place in town, and it's far from the worst. It's good, quick, and won't break the bank. Never disappoints. I've been here dozens of times, and will undoubtedly come again soon. read more

Yes, I gave 5 stars to a common chinese food chain. This place has the standard chinese fare as other small places, but they have a few others things that give them a star-edge in my mind. First, the staff. These are some of the friendlist people out there. The young man who works the front is happy all the time despite being there all the time. And he remembers his customers and their families. Second the food is good. I know it is standard cuisine, but that should count for something. Third, I have never received a wrong order. Compared to other restaurants I have visited this is an accomplishment. Last, they have a buffett. it is a small lunch buffet from 11-2 daily but it is only $5.99, even on Sunday. I don't eat enough at the big places to justify a $10+ price. it's a good place. read more

The restaurant was clean, the staff was nice, and the take out was quick. The pork fried rice and egg rolls were very good. My favorite is the General Tso's chicken. If you want good Chinese, close and at a good price, this is your place. Be aware though, they are closed on Mondays. read more

Totally love this place. Food is consistently good and prices are very reasonable. My favorite is the Pork Egg Foo Young and the Coconut Chicken. Egg Rolls and soup are awesome. Always have leftovers due to generous portions. Family favorite for a quick Sunday lunch after church. The man taking orders is very friendly and always has a smile! LOVE IT! read more

Love this place! It's the best Chinese place in the area. The restaurant is always clean. The staff is very friendly. The food is excellent and of high quality with large portions and is reasonably priced. Be sure to check out the lunch buffet, too. It's small, but a real bargain. read more

I've had better Chinese carry out. Slightly below average Chinese Food. Food was missing flavor.

The food has gone downhill in the past year. They have different people at the counter so perhaps they've had a management or ownership change. The food seems lower quality then it was in the past. We have take-out from this location on a regular basis but we are going to have to find somewhere else to go. It's a shame that this is happening with yet another Karns restaurant. read more

I love me some Chen Garden. It's the best Chinese food around. The staff is the friendliest and Michael is so nice. I love the MA LA Chicken and the fresh vegetables are awesome and when they put donuts on the buffet than you know you're getting something sweet read more

This place has an incredible lunch buffet. It is a hidden gem. People should check them out. I often get a buffet take out. And, I am always impressed. Keep up the great work. read more

3.5 stars: visited few times for lunch buffet, selection is limited but enough for a filling, low prices, nice staff. have taken out coupla times, Good cheap food, fast delivery read more

Quality has gone downhill, beef had a fishy flavor, chicken was cold and only 1 container of rice given with 2 orders. Was told that you have to share the rice if you get more than one order. No longer open on Mondays, not surprising with how empty the restaurant was. Very disappointing and we won't be back. read more
