Tastes just like I remember the New York style Chinese food. The kitchen was visible from the counter where you place your order and everything appeared very clean. Service was prompt and prices were reasonable. We enjoyed combo meals and they were delicious with good portion sizes. There is only one small table to sit at in the lobby - so no real dine in - but take out was what we were looking for. We have this on our rotation now. Highly recommend. read more

We tried this place for lunch today for the first time. We ordered the lunch portions of orange chicken and general pso chicken. Both came with fried rice and an egg roll. We also ordered beef lo mein to share. Portion size was good for the lunch combos and the food was hot and fresh when I picked it up. It is a carry out only but the inside was clean and the staff were friendly. The orange chicken and rice was really good. Egg rolls were hot and had good flavor. My fiance got the general pso chicken and he said it was good but was not spicy. He selected hot online but unsure if they may have just made it mild. The beef lo mein was good with a lot of flavor. Today we felt like Chinese food and with a little Yelp research decided on Full House. We ordered the Mu Po Tofu, Sweet and Sour Chicken, and Kung Pao Chicken. Some Egg Rolls and Hot and Sour Soup rounded out our meal. I have never had Mu Po Tofu and was trying it for the first time. When I looked it up online it appeared that some sort of ground meat (usually pork) was part of the dish. The Mu Po Tofu that I had lacked the ground meat. I am not sure if their version doesn't have it or they made a mistake but it was a part of the dish I was looking forward to. I believe that could have kicked the dish up a notch above what turned out to be just ok. The Sweet and Sour Chicken was breaded Chicken with Sweet and Sour Sauce. Pretty basic but also pretty common. We really enjoyed the Kung Pao Chicken. No issues there. The egg rolls were decent but greasy. I have had better. The Hot and Sour Soup was good. I ordered it with medium spice and could have gone with the hot. Definitely not too spicy at all. All on all this was a good meal but not great like I was expecting. On a more positive note, online ordering was a breeze, the service was awesome, the prices were fair, and the staff was very friendly. While we may not rush back, we will be back to Full House. read more

This place is another restaurant that you will find very hard to beat when it comes to wonderful food and consistency and a good price. This is also a place I have been going to for over 10 years as well. The food is always hot and fresh. They keep their prices at a good level as well. The only draw back for me is that they don't serve shrimp snow peas on their menu. But, this is just a personal preference that I would like them to carry. The owner is so nice and she knows my wife and me by voice when we call and the size portioning is amazing. I was very pleasantly surprised that a little takeout restaurant in Powell was so good. I like the mild but tasty Vegetable Mei Fun, and my spouse loves the Mixed Vegetables in Garlic Sauce. The garlic sauce is very flavorful and delicious and the veggies are fresh and cooked perfectly. They are take out only right now (July 2021) and the counter is behind a plastic sheet so there is no-contact pickup. I love the General Tso Chicken, Wonton Soup and the Moo Moo Shu Pork is great minus the wraps they give which look store bought. Really need to dust the furniture in the lobby. So, let's get down to it; these folks do a very good job of preparing the accepted version of Chinese food. Spring and egg rolls are crisp and fresh, the House Lo Mein is very, very good. The food was flavorless. The noodles were watery. The meat in my entree tasted like unmarinated, unseasoned, undercooked beef. The cheese wontons were floating on a puddle of cooking oil. The sweet and sour shrimp was just fried shrimp, tails on, with gummy white rice. Every drink costs $2, even water. 2 drinks, 2 lunch entrees, and 1 order of cheese wontons was $28. This is the second time I've gotten takeout, and the second time I've finished dinner a bit disappointed. The steamed dumplings are quite good, and the lo mein also is good, though I wouldn't get them both at once as they have a similar texture. The egg rolls had some strange red stuff in them, which weirded me out. Today, I had the General Tso chicken, and it was a huge disappointment. The chicken was tough, stringy, and overcooked, but the sauce had made the coating soggy. I prefer the frozen Kahiki General Tso over that. They are clean and I get full for reasonable price. I have a feeling I just have yet to find the "right" thing on the menu for me. Food is always hot, fresh, and quick, with good service. Definitely not the best, but you could do worse. read more

Found this little Chinese restaurant just driving around one Sunday afternoon and noticed it's window said "New York Style Chinese Food." That intrigued me so I asked a friend who really knows Asian food and he thought it might mean that the food was more Chinese than the Americanized Chinese food we usually see here in the states. Well, he was RIGHT! It's a small restaurant (not a buffet) in a small strip mall at the corner of Clinton Highway and West Emory Road in north Knoxville. They have lunch specials under $5 that include the entree, rice, and soup, egg roll, or soda but they also have a full menu that looked very good and had a variety. The wonton soup I had with my lunch was good BUT it had three huge wontons in it that were very good. The curried chicken was also excellent and it tasted like you might expect food to taste if you ate with an Asian family in their home. I've only been there once, so far, but I'm going back real soon. read more
