It was time for my family to venture from our normal Chinese food place and try a new place. We heard good things about the food and pricing so we were excited to try! We ordered a LOT so we could sample things- it was about $74 and around $84 after tax's and fees. Ordered was (also note combos include egg roll and either a type of rice Pelli mein): -Beef and broccoli combo white rice -Chicken lomein combo chicken fried rice -Egg drop soup -Extra egg rolls -Pork egg foo young -And moo goo with no mushrooms The eggs rolls are AMAZING! Would totally eat 10. Egg foo young was good and the sauce was interesting. It didn't taste like traditional brown sauce and had more of an almost sweet flavor but very slight, and the color was like chicken gravy and not even brown. Lo mein was good and had decent flavor, but border line bland. The white rice was nice and fluffy and not hard. As for the chicken fried rice it was very bland and very dry-super disappointed in that. Beef and broccoli combo with white rice was good and had good flavor. Food portions are small. The combination platters are not shareable so just a heads up. I would say overall the food flavor was decent but my normal Chinese place, there is a lot more flavor so I don't think we will be back as it wasn't quite worth the almost 40 minute drive to and then 50+ back home with traffic. But if you're close and want some decent inexpensive Chinese food-this is your spot to try! Oh and note if you're doing take out- you have to order and pay $1 for sauces. We got no sauces with our egg rolls and I noticed after you have to purchase them in packs. UPDATE: I have never in my life experienced such bad bloating! My brother and I both got sick after eating! This has been one of our go-to no frills places for years. I typically get the mixed egg drop/pork wonton soup and either beef fried rice or hunan shrimp, and while the price has understandably gone up in the last couple of years, I've always had more than enough to eat for the cost and the flavor has always been good. read more

Hands down this is our favorite Chinese restaurant in the city. We have been going here for 6 years now and have never went home disappointed My wife always gets the sweet and sour chicken and I always get beef veggies and rice. We have also got the fries and fried doughnuts. I firmly feel that whatever you get here will leave you satisfied. The lady and I assume owner whom is always at the counter is always super nice. I know this is a family owned and ran business because I see her small kids there occasionally in the summer and there are family photos by the register as well. I firmly believe in supporting local and this is one business I would definitely recommend. Nothing flashy, new age, cookie cut chain-like bs here. Just good food and service! We regularly order Chinese food to go from China Jiang. It always tastes wonderful, the service is pleasant and the price very reasonable.

We found China Jiang by chance. It was a lucky find! The place is small - really a Chinese carry-out but there are maybe four tables. The menu has everything you would expect and nothing unusual. I had the General Tso chicken lunch special. It was among the best I have eaten and I order this a lot. I only wish it were served with a few more vegetables. If I lived in the Knoxville area this would definitely be my regular place for Chinese food. read more

Appetizer was fried chicken and that was so good that I would come back just for that. Wife had the szchuan chicken and it had the perfect amount of tang and sweetness. Must have come on a bad night. Was really looking forward to some good Chinese food based on other reviews. Walked in, picked up menus from counter, made eye contact and said hi to the waitress, sat down at a table, read the menu, decided what we wanted, talked for awhile and realized the we and another table had not seen the waitress since we walked in about 15 minutes before. Realized the place was overwhelmed and understaffed, and think the waitress may have been trying to do it all; cooking, waiting on people, and hopefully watching the small child that played peek a boo with me when I walked in, but remained hiding behind the counter holding the menus and cash register. The General Tso was excellent. We love a good hot and sour soup and we're well pleased . The order was on time. A bit confused about Chicken Chow Mei as we thought that came with noodles. The cashier was nice and the food was served fast as well as everything was clean. I wanted to like this restaurant being that it's so close to my house but the food itself actually fell below mediocre . The egg rolls were dry and mushy inside as if overcooked . The orange chicken was drowned in a dreadful amount of sauce ( the sauce wasn't too good either ) and the wonton soup was a bit flavorless. Wow, For the life of me I don't understand the reviews. I have see this place for many years and placed my first order yesterday. All I needed was fried rice to go along with some Korean BBQ ribs that I had made. Big mistake and a total waste of money. I ordered 2 and was more than $15. I would not order again if it were only $5. I'm amazed that a Chinese restaurant can't even make fried rice. To be fair they aren't the only ones that can't. I won't be back. read more
