Now that we live in the area, we have become a regular eating here. We love their food. Pad Thai, Drunken noodles (chicken), Tom Yum and shrimp basil rolls. Those items are our main go to's. Papaya salad, larb, spring rolls, coconut soup, and dumplings are sometimes mixed into our selection when we need a change. We have been eating here for several years and the quality and consistency has not changed. Service has been consistent and very friendly. We have our own table if it's not occupied. This restaurant you'll find is unassuming. I would rather eat their great food than eat at a place that looks like a million bucks with poor quality food. Every time we're in town, we HAVE TO go here. They have some of the best home-made duck/orange sauce for their spring rolls. Well, we were excited to see a Thai place for pad Thai in our new town... sad to say NOGO! we did pick up, and sadly very disappointed. It was like no pad Thai I have ever had. Was in Boston for a conference a few weeks ago and wanted to grab dinner near my hotel. Found Thai Basil on Yelp and had his reviews, so why not? I walked over from the Hilton and found they were already on a short wait. Didn't matter, I'm ordering it to go and take it back to my room. Go in to order, super friendly staff, cute little dining area. I order the yellow curry and a Thai tea. My order was ready quickly, so I head back to the hotel. The food was great! We needed a break from the Southern food after being in the area for awhile, and so when we found this restaurant, we came immediately. I was sick of meat and overjoyed at the opportunity of ordering something with tofu. Service here was pretty good, we really liked that they took COVID seriously and wore masks/sanitized (something many other restaurants around here lacked). My parents have never had Thai food and are a bit hesitant when it comes to trying new food, so they ordered fried rice and the Mama egg noodles. I ordered pad thai with tofu, it was pretty good. My sister and father liked their fried rices. My mother thought her dish was a little salty. Would order the non-mild option of spiciness next time--the mild wasn't spicy at all. One major reason I didn't like going to the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area was the lack of good food amid all the tourist traps when I went the first time with my wife back in 2014. Thankfully, we gave the area a second try in December 2023, and we just spent our spring break at Dollywood in April 2024. In our December stay, our kids were burned out on the usual Western kids food, so when we planned our April trip we looked for Asian restaurants, and this one kept coming back onto our radar. One night, when the park was too wet and cold to stay after dark, we agreed to go with our friends to eat out, and we mentioned this place. Thankfully, our friends didn't object, because this and Tennessee Jed's sandwiches have made me like this area a lot more! This restaurant is in a strip mall, which actually made me happy as it means it is likely less dependent on tourists, giving it staying power. The reviews here on Yelp definitely helped, too. We had a party of 7 and were easily accommodated. The server, who seemed to be the manager, was incredibly kind despite being busy while we were there. Our family ordered the fresh shrimp rolls and Thai dumplings for a starter, a chicken satay and a white rice for each kid (4 and 8) I had the masaman curry chicken at two peppers (I ordered it with beef but it came with chicken - it was so tasty I didn't mind!), and my wife ordered pad see ew with chicken at three peppers. I had Thai coffee, which I always forget is a bit too sweet, and my wife had hot Jasmine tea. The chicken satay came with the meat on the skewer and the sauce on the side, which was good for our 8yo who doesn't like sauces very much. Our 4yo was so tired that he didn't care what his food tasted like, so I tasted it just to be sure - it was great! The masaman curry was exactly what it should be: a little spice, a great blend of textures, and all the ingredients done to softness without being mushy. The rice it came with was good for a Thai place (that's not meant as a sleight - Thai rice is just typically a bit drier than the Chinese and Korean rice I'm used to), so our kids were really happy to have food more like what we eat at home, and I thought it mixed well with the curry. My wife's noodles were fantastic, although not as spicy as I had expected. The restaurant stayed busy, largely with takeout orders, but we never had to wait long for food or drink refills, and we were able to have a nice time with our friends in a fairly quiet environment. Thai Basil is now on our must-go list because of how close it is to the Dollywood resorts, which is where our roller-coaster-loving family chooses to stay when we visit. I don't know if I would want it delivered, though, because it's always better fresh and hot! read more

I was really craving some comfort food and hadn't had good Thai food in quite awhile. I stopped in at lunch and they were at a full 50% capacity. A good sign for a lunch. As hard as I try to be good, I have a weakness for spring roll and Thai noodles. The spring rolls came in an order of 3 which is a good amount. They were fried crispy and needed some time to cool down. For the noodles, I ordered tofu drunken noodles - hot. It could have used a bit more heat, but it wasn't mild enough for me to have to ask for hot sauce. The tofu was sautéed rather than fried, which I really liked. They put green beans in it which I don't believe I've ever had in drunken noodles. I don't know if I was crazy about that, but the noodles were good otherwise read more

B) The fried tofu app is really good and THATSAUCETHO (sweet and sour w/ peanut) is amazing. I could, and sorta did, ask for extra and put it on everything! C) another sauce recommend. Rainbow sauce!
