So disappointed. Yelp reviews were somewhat encouraging. Pros: nice ambiance friendly waiter Large portions of entrees Cons: chicken coconut milk soup - not good and very small portion size pad Thai - too sweet Rushed us out at 7:30pm Not authentic Thai food Soy sauce on table vs red chili paste should have been my first clue. Gave us fortune cookies. Never asked if we wanted dessert. I've had Thai food in lots of cities and this was the worst. Needless to say, I won't be back. read more

I'm not a big thai food fan. But are visiting since Colorado off quarantine list . Came to see a friend, she said this place was great. Sure enough the food was great with tons of flavor. Definitely putting this place on our go to list. read more

Every year on our anniversary, my husband and I come to this little, perfect family restaurant and order the same thing: I get the Sesame Chicken and he gets the Drunken Noodles, and we share an order of the crab wontons that are literal perfection. Everytime, the food is really good and wonderfully affordable; their lunch specials especially are worth it. The food is fresh and delicious, and the servers are always very kind and seat us at our special table if they can. The food is fast - like comically so - which makes it a great place to grab a quick bite without sacrificing food quality like you would with fast food. Overall, this is a great neighborhood restaurant and a hidden gem in the Northglenn area. read more

Came here with a group to try it out for the first time. The restaurant is fairly small, but nice decor and clean. Our server was a young man that was very attentive and did a good job. The food came quick and was hot and displayed very nicely on the dish. It was all delicious. I will say that I only gave it four stars because it wasn't what I traditionally find at Thai places. It was more of an Asian-fusion sort of Thai. Also my mother was disappointed that they did not have Thai coffee or the traditional Thai sticky rice dessert. That being said, it was good food, good service and a fair price for the large portions. read more

Food from here is really good, however it's getting really annoying that they never get the varying spice levels within an order right. You seem to get all spicy or all whatever else you order, even when each dish is specified. Eating "spicy" Szechuan chicken, and it's not spicy at all. Supposed to be a spicy dish, tasty, but I'm let down. read more

Thai Basil is one of our quick take options. Food is always fresh and hot. Our personal favorites are the Thai fried rice, chicken Satay and the Chicken Coconut Soup. read more

Love their food!! Always so professional and even tho the space is tight, love the space and comfy feel! But they need a changing table in their restrooms!! Please get one :) read more

I have ordered from here quite a few times since my first review and the food has been consistently great. I think the first time I stopped by was a bit of a lukewarm one off but overall really love the food here and would recommend to anyone to try. read more

Awesome food, good service. We have had Thai basil delivered several times and it was excellent each time. read more

We have eaten here a few times and I have always been pleased with the food and the service. The dinner portions are good sized. I always go for the Thai basil chicken dish. read more

Best Thai food in Thornton. Service was great. Food is delicious and really good portion size.

I ordered over $50 worth of food for delivery (3 miles) and it took over an hour for it to arrive instead of the usual 15-20 minutes. The driver got lost even though they have gps and giving directions over the phone. Needless to say, the soup and rest of the food were luke warm to cold. The lemongrass pork was mostly broccoli and carrots and the meat was thin, dry and tougher than shoe leather. Stay away from this dish. Also, as another review mentioned, the Tom Yum soup is not authentic tasting at all. It was a few mushrooms and a couple small shrimp in broth but no sour or spicy flavors. Stay away from this soup. I've been a customer for over 5 years but the quality and quantity of food has gone downhill in the last couple of years and the service has become poor as well. Thai Basil needs to revert back to serving good food and providing good service or risk losing other customers. Paid good money for crap and it isn't a great feeling to get ripped off and management didn't do anything to try to make it right either. read more

For Thai food it is probably the best in the area. Thornton doesn't have a lot of restaurants that specialize in Thai food, if any, so we decided to try out the food here one night. I got the pad Thai and my friend got the fried rice. Food was good, not amazing. Regardless I would go here again though because it is a ten minute drive from my house while my usually Thai restaurant is usually a 25+ minute drive . Try the Thai tea though, it's my favorite drink. read more

We had a family of three eating here. I got the curry beef and it was the worst curry beef I have ever had. The texture of the meet was disgusting. It was thick (full of corn starch?) and seems fried at some point, frozen and then added to the rest of the dish. After two pieces I was done. My son had general Tso's chicken or something similar and while it looked great, he barely touched his. My daughter had some veggie noodles which she said was fine. Worst part, I threw up when I got home and my son didn't feel well either. This will be my last and only trip to this place for sure. I am not a picky eater as I generally go to Panda Express for Chinese food cravings, and I never get disappointed. I really hate giving a small business bad reviews but this place is not edible. read more

I love that they deliver. It's refreshing to have something delivered besides Chinese. They have a good vegetarian selection. I liked the Thai eggplant and sesame tofu. The flavor is good... spicy but not too spicy. I wish they had Jasmine rice instead of just white rice. But everything else was good. I've had the drunken noodles before and they are good too. The delivery time is reasonable. The drivers are nice. I like Thai Basil and would offer from them again. read more

No No No!!!... Anyone of authentic Thai heritage should band together, and burn this place to the ground... Just spent $45 on the worst "Thai food," I have ever been sold...Dismal! Tired, cloyingly sweet, and yet poorly seasoned?!?, over cornstarched Chinese food, disguising itself horribly as Thai food. How do you screw up a salad roll? By putting 6lbs of rice noodles in a spring roll wrapper with a quarter of a shrimp and some haphazardly placed iceburg lettuce scraps, that's how! WTF! Unless you hate yourself, hate your life, and hate food, you should never eat here. Everyone needs to stop spending money here, so they will close forever. And it will be good that they closed, mostly so the world never has to bear witness to another cold chicken satay, or plate of ketchup sauce pad thai...Literally the most embarrassing meal I have ever been served... DO NOT EAT HERE! Expletive, expletive, mother expletive. read more

This was our first experience at a local Thai restaurant since moving to the (AWESOME) state of Colorado. After trying it this will definitely be one of our go to spots for Thai food. Caveat, the owners/employees are not Thai, they are Chinese, if this bothers you then I guess white people can't do sushi and basically races need to stick to their own cuisine? The server(s) were prompt and very friendly. Our toddler's appetizer was a little "late" and he apologized several times. The food came out extremely fast (as in we were surprised when he came out with a tray and it was our food kind of fast) and was hot and fresh. I had the pad thai and my wife had some kind of beef dish (forgot what it was but it was good). The dining room is a bit small and fits probably about 30 people. Pricing was very fair, for 2 entrees, some sake, a side of rice and an order of pot stickers before tip is was ~$35. Highly recommend Thai Basil! read more

Amazing food and wonderful service! Visiting from Wyoming and had the pineapple curry, drunken noodles, and sesame tofu all of which were amazing! We will definitely be back! read more

Order Pad Thai and Hong Kong Noodles. The meat tasted like they were super frozen before cooking. Horrible taste. Pad Thai was less than average. Not authentic Thai place for sure. Disappointed. Also, host lady could use some courtesy skills when talking to customers. read more

I had the pad thai, one of my favorite dishes. It was so sweet it was inedible. I went next door for ice cream and realized the pad thai was sweeter than the ice cream! Yuck! read more

Delicious Thai food tucked in a strip mall off 120th in Thornton/Northglenn. I had no idea what to expect, but we were impressed! My Pad See Lew was delicious, and my husband says his Panang curry was among the best he's had! The spiciest "spicy" wasn't all that spicy (he says), only about a 5/10 based on California scales. :) We recommend it! Fast service & very friendly wait staff, too. :) read more

No no no. Bland. Also, when you deliver to a persons home, it would be good to include the rice. Also bad to say, oh sorry, next time we will give you an eggroll. What makes you think there will be a next time? Pretty pompous attitude if you ask me. Not providing rice is like not providing the tortilla to a burrito. Just wrong. read more

I order delivery all the time. They are very quick and the food is very good. Not "true" Thai but the best I have tasted around this area.

I have dined in several times, ordering different dishes. The food is always excellent as well as the service. I ordered delivery for the first time, the food was hot! The delivery was also speedy. I would recommend this place. read more

Say the words, extra spicy pad Thai....... Three times spicy when you have a cold coming on.... Finally Thornton has a wonderful Thai restaurant.. Drunken noodles are wonderful!! Thai Basil chicken is so good too.. Their curries are worth it!!!! Yummmmmmmmm read more

I must just say wow! Never ate here until yesterday. I'm just not ever in the area. Luckily my friend had the idea for Thai food while we decided to catch up with one another. I always wanted to try it, just never was around here. When I first arrived I noticed it was small, maybe around a dozen tables each seating 2 or able to move around for bigger parties. The staff was friendly and were on top of things. I ordered the staple Thai food, which was pad thai. I prefer beef, but they had chicken or shrimp or a combination. We also ordered the chicken satay for appetizer. The appetizer was very delicious and is also a classic to Thai restaurants. It always comes with a peanut sauce which was on point as well. My pad thai was the star though! I've eaten at many Thai places and this is the best I've had! My opinion comes from the softness of the noodles and the consistency of them. Some places cook them very runny from the sauce which I really do not like. The only very minor thing I did not expect was their thai hot spiciness level. If you do not know Thai restaurant cook their levels from mild, medium, hot and thai hot. The thai hot that I love and always order makes my nose run and lips and mouth just burn...but I love that feeling! I call it an adventure for my food! But Thai Basil's thai hot was not that hot, just in case you prefer really spicy foods. This was only minor, but other than that, the food was excellent!! Please eat here, take out or have delivery. I will definitely be back for their delicious food! read more

I went in to Thai Basil for lunch today and I am taking away two stars from my previous review. Though the pad thai somehow tasted better today, the service was terrible! The server was so rude to us! She did not hide her annoyance that we needed a few minutes to look the menu order. She would walk away as she was talking so you couldn't hear her, and in general was short and rude with us. I honestly don't think I'll be back. Time to try a new thai place. read more

I try plenty of Thai food all over the country. Don't let the bad reviews deter you. The value of the food portions is excellent. The pad Thai and eggplant dish is very good. I have no complaints for my take out experiences. I had an incredibly tasting soup one time when waiting at one time. read more

Long wait, restaurant was @ capacity, but it was so worth the wait! Food arrived @ our table sizzling, and was fantastic!!! This is a little slice of Thai heaven in Thornton!!! Will add this place to one of my all time favorites! Staff was very nice! WILL go back SOON and have already told friends and family about Thai Basil in Thornton:) read more

Man, I had a not so good experience here. Let me just say, this place is far from traditional Thai food. This is like the Thai version of Panda Express. Actually, it's too much like Chinese food. Ordered soup which was definitely not flavored well. Coconut chicken soup has too much coconut. That's not the worse part, I ordered Thai Chicken Basil and I found hair in it as soon as it came out. Waitress took it back, said she'd have the chef make a new plate. The "new plate" came out 2 minutes later...REALLY? At least make it seem as though you cooked a new plate rather than re-heat it. I'm deeply sorry but this is not the best Thai in Denver. read more

Excellent food. small small place, but nice atmosphere. good "casual" date night spot because it's quite, darker in lighting. great food. I love their green curry, and their golden tofu. :-) read more

Been searching for good Thai food and finally found it. We started of with spring rolls. The portion size was good and the peanut sauce was outstanding. I had panang curry with chicken and my wife had pad see lew. I had actually ordered the beef, but was mistakenly give chicken. It was an good mistake! The chicken is so tender. We love this place and will make this a weekly trip. read more

It's ok. I think they survive off the name and reputation of the one downtown. They have forgotton some of our order a few times when delivered. There are deffinitely better places to go. read more

After reading the previous reviews I had mixed feelings about going to this restaurant but since we were starving and it was close, we took the risk. I'm glad we did. We had Thai iced tea and the coconut chicken soup to start. The soup was flavorful and an order for two was quite enough. Thinking we'd get entrees only, we ordered three dishes: spicy eggplant, chicken with peanut sauce and a shrimp dish with jalapeno's and vegetables. All three dishes were quite tasty with the eggplant being our favorite (much to the surprise of both of us). The place was packed and the staff (too few of them) were doing their best to accommodate everyone in a timely manner. A Mom & Pop operation like this one clearly operates with the hopes for a full house nightly but the reality is usually different. The service was OK, the server very polite. We had to wait a little bit for food but clearly they were understaffed on this busy Friday evening. Overall, I would return. The food was good, the price was right and it's a local business close to this reviewer's home. A winning combination in my book. I would recommend if you are in a hurry to eat, this is not the best place to go. But if you have some time, it's worth it. Being a new business they seem to have worked out many of the kinks, however a few still remain. read more

This is my go to Thai place in Thornton. I love the green curry. It has a great mix of spice and coconut. My fiancee always orders the Vietnamese egg rolls, which are pretty tasty. I've tried other places around but always go back to Thai Basil. read more

My first time here, and I was craving Thai Food. I especially like Chicken Pad See Ew, so I tried it. Even though the waiter was nice, the portion was very plentiful, and the ingredients were fresh, the noodles were all wrong! Noodles for this dish should be Thai rice noodles that are flat, wide, kind of square, and very slippery - easy to eat with a fork. But these noodles were like fettuccine noodles and impossible to eat. It pretty much ruined the entire meal. I probably won't be back. read more

Amazing! simply amazing. The food was honestly the best Thai I've had. Even the Chinese dish my daughter ordered( Veggie Lo Mein) was the best I've ever tasted. The franchisee even came out to check on patrons. I noticed many regulars by the way they were communicating. Highly recommend. save room for Cold Stone creamery next door... read more

My girlfriend and I love this place! We've gotten delivery many times, they are always punctual and have never messed up an order. I highly recommend the Siracha Beef! read more

Absolutely appalling service. The server stood behind a different table to take our order as if he was either scared of us or didn't want to he serving us at all. It seemed more like a chore to him to be there than a pleasure to wait on only the third table in there. Sure the food came swiftly but I actually asked if they could wait to bring one of our items out while I waited for my husband who had to leave for 10 minutes. I was told "no...you already ordered it". I asked if they could just keep it in the back to keep it warm until my husband came back. "No, you already ordered." So the food was brought out so all I could do is put a napkin over it to keep it warm. The seaweed salad made me feel nauseous after 2bites. It is the oiliest I've ever had...and the whole experience has put a horrible taste in my mouth and a real damper on an otherwise fantastic experience of the Denver restaurant scene. Ps. My husband still hasn't even retired yet so this is my experience just 15 minutes in. A very unhappy customer. We won't be coming back. read more

Fast delicious Thai food. Owner is nice and so is the wait staff. We come here a lot.
