Came here with a group to try it out for the first time. The restaurant is fairly small, but nice decor and clean. Our server was a young man that was very attentive and did a good job. The food came quick and was hot and displayed very nicely on the dish. It was all delicious. I will say that I only gave it four stars because it wasn't what I traditionally find at Thai places. It was more of an Asian-fusion sort of Thai. Also my mother was disappointed that they did not have Thai coffee or the traditional Thai sticky rice dessert. Best Thai food in Thornton. Service was great. Food is delicious and really good portion size.

I ordered over $50 worth of food for delivery (3 miles) and it took over an hour for it to arrive instead of the usual 15-20 minutes. The driver got lost even though they have gps and giving directions over the phone. Needless to say, the soup and rest of the food were luke warm to cold. The lemongrass pork was mostly broccoli and carrots and the meat was thin, dry and tougher than shoe leather. Stay away from this dish. Also, as another review mentioned, the Tom Yum soup is not authentic tasting at all. It was a few mushrooms and a couple small shrimp in broth but no sour or spicy flavors. Stay away from this soup. I've been a customer for over 5 years but the quality and quantity of food has gone downhill in the last couple of years and the service has become poor as well. Thai Basil needs to revert back to serving good food and providing good service or risk losing other customers. Paid good money for crap and it isn't a great feeling to get ripped off and management didn't do anything to try to make it right either. read more

*Update* I stopped inside for the first time and I only had to wait 4 minutes or so, but they didn't want me to wait for even that long, so they brought out free soup! I am always so pleased with their kindness and willingness to go the extra mile for their customers. The awesome delivery guy is SO sweet, which is what prompted this review. This location (Thornton) is in my eyes the best one (as I've tried the others in this franchise with "meh" results.) The man who answers every time I call is extremely friendly and so is the one who kindly delivers it. This is my go-to takeout restaurant in the Thornton suburbs for sure. Thai Basil is vegetarian-friendly and adds any extra veggies I want, on top of making my spicy eggplant mild. They never seem to mind when I make requests and I really appreciate that. I'd also recommend their chicken satay for meat-eaters... the peanut sauce is completely AMAZING. read more

We had a family of three eating here. I got the curry beef and it was the worst curry beef I have ever had. The texture of the meet was disgusting. It was thick (full of corn starch?) and seems fried at some point, frozen and then added to the rest of the dish. After two pieces I was done. My son had general Tso's chicken or something similar and while it looked great, he barely touched his. My daughter had some veggie noodles which she said was fine. Worst part, I threw up when I got home and my son didn't feel well either. This will be my last and only trip to this place for sure. I am not a picky eater as I generally go to Panda Express for Chinese food cravings, and I never get disappointed. For Thai food it is probably the best in the area. Thornton doesn't have a lot of restaurants that specialize in Thai food, if any, so we decided to try out the food here one night. I got the pad Thai and my friend got the fried rice. Food was good, not amazing. Regardless I would go here again though because it is a ten minute drive from my house while my usually Thai restaurant is usually a 25+ minute drive . This was our first experience at a local Thai restaurant since moving to the (AWESOME) state of Colorado. After trying it this will definitely be one of our go to spots for Thai food. Caveat, the owners/employees are not Thai, they are Chinese, if this bothers you then I guess white people can't do sushi and basically races need to stick to their own cuisine? The server(s) were prompt and very friendly. Our toddler's appetizer was a little "late" and he apologized several times. The food came out extremely fast (as in we were surprised when he came out with a tray and it was our food kind of fast) and was hot and fresh. I had the pad thai and my wife had some kind of beef dish (forgot what it was but it was good). The dining room is a bit small and fits probably about 30 people. Pricing was very fair, for 2 entrees, some sake, a side of rice and an order of pot stickers before tip is was ~$35. Highly recommend Thai Basil! read more

My first time here, and I was craving Thai Food. I especially like Chicken Pad See Ew, so I tried it. Even though the waiter was nice, the portion was very plentiful, and the ingredients were fresh, the noodles were all wrong! Noodles for this dish should be Thai rice noodles that are flat, wide, kind of square, and very slippery - easy to eat with a fork. But these noodles were like fettuccine noodles and impossible to eat. It pretty much ruined the entire meal. I probably won't be back. read more

I love that they deliver. It's refreshing to have something delivered besides Chinese. They have a good vegetarian selection. I liked the Thai eggplant and sesame tofu. The flavor is good... spicy but not too spicy. I wish they had Jasmine rice instead of just white rice. But everything else was good. I've had the drunken noodles before and they are good too. My sister and I came in for dinner because she was craving Pad Thai. The restaurant isn't super spacious, but it had enough room for several tables. The service was awesome! We were seated quickly and the waitress was very friendly. Our food was out within maybe 10 minutes of ordering it, maximum. The Panang Curry with tofu was better than I anticipated. It was mostly broth, a little too much for the rice to completely soak up. But it was flavorful and rich like you would expect from a curry. The vegetables held up well. I was surprised by the presence of tomatoes and sweet potatoes in the curry, but they worked well. The pad thai was deep and full of flavor. There was the perfect amount of sauce to cover all of the noodles. The dish was served with lemon rather than lime, but it was still some of the best pad thai I've had. My Pad See Lew was delicious, and my husband says his Panang curry was among the best he's had! I must just say wow! Never ate here until yesterday. I'm just not ever in the area. Luckily my friend had the idea for Thai food while we decided to catch up with one another. I always wanted to try it, just never was around here. When I first arrived I noticed it was small, maybe around a dozen tables each seating 2 or able to move around for bigger parties. The staff was friendly and were on top of things. I ordered the staple Thai food, which was pad thai. I prefer beef, but they had chicken or shrimp or a combination. We also ordered the chicken satay for appetizer. The appetizer was very delicious and is also a classic to Thai restaurants. It always comes with a peanut sauce which was on point as well. My pad thai was the star though! I've eaten at many Thai places and this is the best I've had! My opinion comes from the softness of the noodles and the consistency of them. Some places cook them very runny from the sauce which I really do not like. The only very minor thing I did not expect was their thai hot spiciness level. If you do not know Thai restaurant cook their levels from mild, medium, hot and thai hot. The thai hot that I love and always order makes my nose run and lips and mouth just burn...but I love that feeling! I call it an adventure for my food! But Thai Basil's thai hot was not that hot, just in case you prefer really spicy foods. This was only minor, but other than that, the food was excellent!! Please eat here, take out or have delivery. I went in to Thai Basil for lunch today and I am taking away two stars from my previous review. Though the pad thai somehow tasted better today, the service was terrible! The server was so rude to us! She did not hide her annoyance that we needed a few minutes to look the menu order. She would walk away as she was talking so you couldn't hear her, and in general was short and rude with us. I honestly don't think I'll be back. Time to try a new thai place. read more

Man, I had a not so good experience here. Let me just say, this place is far from traditional Thai food. This is like the Thai version of Panda Express. Actually, it's too much like Chinese food. Ordered soup which was definitely not flavored well. Coconut chicken soup has too much coconut. That's not the worse part, I ordered Thai Chicken Basil and I found hair in it as soon as it came out. Waitress took it back, said she'd have the chef make a new plate. The "new plate" came out 2 minutes later...REALLY? At least make it seem as though you cooked a new plate rather than re-heat it. After reading the previous reviews I had mixed feelings about going to this restaurant but since we were starving and it was close, we took the risk. I'm glad we did. We had Thai iced tea and the coconut chicken soup to start. The soup was flavorful and an order for two was quite enough. Thinking we'd get entrees only, we ordered three dishes: spicy eggplant, chicken with peanut sauce and a shrimp dish with jalapeno's and vegetables. All three dishes were quite tasty with the eggplant being our favorite (much to the surprise of both of us). The place was packed and the staff (too few of them) were doing their best to accommodate everyone in a timely manner. A Mom & Pop operation like this one clearly operates with the hopes for a full house nightly but the reality is usually different. The service was OK, the server very polite. We had to wait a little bit for food but clearly they were understaffed on this busy Friday evening. Overall, I would return. The food was good, the price was right and it's a local business close to this reviewer's home. A winning combination in my book. I would recommend if you are in a hurry to eat, this is not the best place to go. But if you have some time, it's worth it. This is my go to Thai place in Thornton. I love the green curry. It has a great mix of spice and coconut. My fiancee always orders the Vietnamese egg rolls, which are pretty tasty. I've tried other places around but always go back to Thai Basil. read more
