Spring rolls and small spicy Thai soup

It's been awhile since we were in the area and we sure missed this place. Our favorites were just as good today as I remembered. Spicy Thai soup, spring rolls, pad Thai and mango sticky rice are all go to winners

The place and environment itself is cute. The decorations are nice and the space is nice. The seats are definitely worn down and it's not an up to date on everything but that doesn't bother me at all! The food is decent. The prices are your typical Asian dinner prices you would see at any establishment. They offer a variety of delicious foods. One thing I love is that online they have pictures of the different food items when you are looking which I absolutely love. The food can be a hit or miss. The food we ordered was average. Nothing special. The waitresses were extremely attentive and on it. However, once our check was delivered, they kept eyeing us and waiting for us to pay. We definitely felt rushed and it was a little uncomfortable with their constant checking in on us to see if we had put a card down. Overall, the food was alright. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here but if it was the only option, I wouldn't. The weird interaction once the check was delivered also did not make this experience the best.

Ordered here on UberEATS for pickup. It was ready very quickly in 15/20 minutes on a Friday around noon. They have plenty of good options to try for such a decent price! There were a few other people in the restaurant eating. I was able to pick it up very quick, they had it ready when I walked in. I paid $33 dollars for chicken skewers, shrimp pad see ew, fried rice and a side of peanut sauce. It is totally big enough for 2 hungry people to share, I turned it into 4 decent sized meals. The chicken skewers were absolutely amazing, moist with great flavor. Loved the peanut sauce as well. I took off half a star because the pad see ew was very different than the traditional style that I am used to. It was still good buy the noodles were a bit chewy. Overall, 4.5 star out of 5. I would happily come back! :)

Omg. Omg. Omg. My cousin has been recommending this place to me for months and I finally came in to try it. The food was amazing. The staff is super friendly. And the atmosphere is very cozy. I tried the Thai Basil Chicken and, man, the flavor was 'chef's kiss.' So glad that I finally found my go-to Thai restaurant. Try it and it might just be yours too!

When you're busy helping a friend move, even taking a break for lunch can feel tough (so much stuff! so many boxes!), even if you're in need of some grub to power through the rest of the day. In the midst of moving mayhem, we decided to get delivery food, with Thai Basil being the spot of choice. We called our order in, were promised it would be delivered within 25 minutes, and before 20 minutes had elapsed, the doorbell had rung with our lunch. I went with the lunch size of Pad Se-Lew with chicken. It turned out to be the perfect portion for one at midday, and the flavors hit the spot. It was medium level spicy, but I would have been happier even if it had a little more kick (so the spice-averse will probably not mind it, even at a medium level). If you need a solid Thai restaurant that delivers quickly, Thai Basil may be just the thing!

I order delivery all the time. They are very quick and the food is very good. Not "true" Thai but the best I have tasted around this area.

Ponsawan Thai Cuisine - Yellow curry fried rice

You know a place is good when we come twice in a row during vacation!…read more We were in CO for the Rocky Mountain Siberian Husky Club specialty and I was craving Thai food. As I hail from CA, we have plenty of authentic Thai restaurants to choose from. As such, I was looking for a small, authentic Thai place near Brighton, where the show was being held. Ponsawan came recommended, and I was immediately drawn to this place especially with its namesake. Some of the best Thai places I've been to have "difficult"-sounding names. It was dinner the first time we went, and we were seated quickly. Our server was friendly, and gave us time to peruse the menu. I went with the pineapple fried rice while my husband went with the pork pad Thai. The pineapple fried rice had a lovely wok hei and there were plenty of fresh pineapples as well. I loved the cashews on the side, and the crispy cucumbers. Portion size was perfect. My husband's pad Thai was saucy and tamarind-y. Personally, I prefer a drier pad Thai, but he enjoyed this, I think mainly because of how strong the tamarind flavor was. Our server asked if we wanted to try the mango sticky rice since she said it was mango season, but we politely declined. The next day, we were both craving Ponsawan again, so we came for a late lunch. The owner recognized us and welcomed us back in. This time, we also got drinks and an app. I went with the Thai tea and my husband went with the Thai coffee. Both were not too sweet and a good strength. The app we chose was the dumplings, which were fried to perfection and came with the most delicious dipping sauce. As far as our entrees, I went with the pork pad kee mao and my husband went with the yellow curry fried rice. Our server apparently heard his order incorrectly and gave him the pineapple fried rice, but apologized and was quick to rectify the situation. As such, I received my food first, and had to wait a few more minutes before we could eat together. The pad kee mao had the perfect amount of spice, and the pork was tender. The yellow curry fried rice again had a lovely wok hei and the curry powder was delightfully pungent. Both times we dined, our food didn't take long to arrive at all. I'd say less than 15 minutes for both of our dishes. They had lunch specials, but for the price point of the entrees, it was a no brainer to just order entrees. The food was super affordable and the portion sizes were not skimpy at all. Not huge, but definitely not skimpy. Ponsawan is easily on my favorites list for the Denver area and we will most certainly be back the next time we go to CO! (I will also need to try their curries, so that is a high priority for our next visit.)

Bangkok Avenue delivered a large take-out order for five people last nite that was, from start to…read morefinish, deeply forgettable. The common thread across every dish was not inconsistency but uniform blandness. What arrived on our table lacked taste, energy, and intention, as if the kitchen was simply executing recipes without engagement or care. The moo ping should have been a highlight sweet, smoky, caramelized, and alive with char. Instead, it arrived hollow and lifeless, missing the marinade and fire that define the dish. There was no depth, no fragrance, no sense that the cook believed in what was being served. The accompanying rice was merely filler, and an additional order of Thai fried rice continued the same pattern: edible, but flat, dull, and entirely uninspired. My wife's gluten-free Pad Thai with tofu, a dish built on balance and brightness, was especially disappointing. It lacked acidity, sweetness, umami, and spice every note that gives Pad Thai its character. The noodles felt seasoned out of obligation rather than intention. It was food that offered no pleasure and no reason to return to it, ultimately left unfinished out of sheer indifference. This experience was not about spice tolerance, dietary restriction, or personal preference. Five people ordered widely, and the conclusion was unanimous: nothing stood out, nothing lingered, nothing satisfied. When every plate is this muted, it signals more than an off night it suggests a chef cooking without inspiration, without curiosity, and without soul. Thai cuisine is bold by nature. Having eaten throughout Thailand, we know that even the most modest street stall delivers food with clarity, confidence, and heart. What was served here bore little resemblance to that tradition. Last night (contrary to other nights and lunches in the past) , Bangkok Avenue did not simply miss the mark it stripped Thai food of the very element that makes it special: taste. Dish was a bit under-seasoned, could have used more salt and depth of flavor. I ordered medium spice and then added more spice to make up for the lack of flavor. I'd come back to try some more traditional Thai dishes, but was a little disappointed with the ramen.
