Banh ran is a deep fried sesame ball with mung bean paste inside. It's incredible!! I can eat a whole bag of these. Their flan just like your normal flan and I love it! Thạch Chè Hiền Khánh I've visited this place many times, and every visit has been a wonderful experience. The chè and traditional desserts here taste well balanced and feel very close to authentic Vietnamese flavors. One thing I really love is that their chè always comes with coconut milk. I personally enjoy the rich, creamy taste of coconut milk . To me, chè isn't complete without it. That's why Hiền Khánh is always my first choice whenever I'm craving chè. The ladies working here are very sweet. Sometimes they may seem a little serious, but it never feels unfriendly , maybe it's just because they're older and focused on their work. The shop is clean, cozy, and not too big. There are so many desserts displayed that as soon as you walk in, you'll want to try a little bit of everything. I am a fan of chè and a regular customer here. Today I bought chè chuối (banana ) wich is my favorite desert. After dinner I start eating it. It tastes great but then I start fell something not tasting right in my mouth so I pull it out and thought maybe it just a hair. I ate at many restaurants that have hair in their food but this hair almost make me throw up. It is thick, short and curly with only can come from under the arm or between the legs. It has been so long since I have visied this store. It was because I was craving for authentic Vietnamese desserts in Little Saigon. This spot is known for its huge variety of chè (sweet dessert soups) and traditional treats, all laid out in colorful displays that make it hard to pick just one. Pricing used to be very affordable but with inflation and after the pandemic, a lot of their items have increased in price and it is now , typically around $3-$5 each. The only negative I can say about this place is that no one speaks English and I had to ask other customes what each dessert was and how good it was. There wasn't any pricing here or menu item. Just point and pay at the end. So if this is your first time here, you have to be very patient OR do what I do and get a variety of desserts and then you will know what flavors you like. Interaction can feel rushed as a lot of customers doesn't want to wait for us English speakers so I just let them go ahead. I got their top menu items here are definitely the chè options, especially chè ba màu (three-color dessert), chè chuối (banana with coconut milk), and chè bắp (sweet corn dessert). If you are a fan of cocount milk then thiese are the ones for you to try! Parking can be a bit of a mixed experience. There is a shared plaza parking lot, but it can get crowded especially on weekends so you might need a little patience or park nearby if it's busy. The place is small, but they have so many choices to choose. The only thing I didn't like is that there are no prices listed anywhere. Not sure if we are being rip off here. Whenever I'm in Westminster, Hien Khanh is my goto spot for che. Portions are good and for a pretty good price (3/7/2026 - $6 A cup) and of course the taste of the different che is spectacular. It's not your typical fancy sit down and eat kind of shop but rather a grab and go kind of place. Every time I've been, the shop is packed with people, especially the older Viet aunties and uncles, so you know the place is good. As for service, I genuinely adore the ladies who work here, they've always been so sweet and kind and overall provide good service so I really like picking up dessert from here when I'm in the area. I stopped by today to pick up a drink and a few yogurts. After grabbing the yogurts, I got in line to check out ,staring at the drink menu when I suddenly heard a woman yelling at the top of her lungs in Vietnamese. She then told me I needed to pay attention because closing one refrigerator door caused another door to pop open. If your refrigerator doors are old enough that closing one opens another, that's an issue with the equipment--not the customer. A polite "Excuse me, could you please close that door?" would have been enough. Yelling across the store was unnecessary and embarrassing LOL. I let it go at the time, but I hope this is addressed so future customers are treated with more respect, but probably not because what else do you expect from an uneducated old lady? read more

There was a line with Viet aunties even on a weekday afternoon, so I knew this had to be the spot for desserts and that it'd be authentic. This place is as authentic as it can get if you want real Vietnamese desserts. There's nothing pretty or fancy about this place. The desserts are in large trays and you just point to whatever you want and they scoop it in to-go containers. It's cash only and there are no tables or chairs. Even if they had tables and chairs, you would not want to sit there. The place is ugly and could use a fresh coat of paint and decor. My friend said we needed to make a stop here on our drive past. It did not disappoint. I haven't had a lot of Vietnamese desserts, but I felt like a kid in a candy store. I like to try new foods and flavors and there was so much to choose from. There was a line out the door and it is cash only. The staff worked quickly to move people through. For years, Hien Khanh is our go to Vietnamese dessert place every time we're in Santa Ana. However, since they changed ownership, the quality and service have dropped. Some of my favorites (chicken with sticky rice, sweet banana in coconut milk, etc.) are still decent but half of the things that I used to order didn't taste as good as before. The staff was very unfriendly and acted as though we needed them more than they needed us. Maybe the locals felt the same way. There was no long line or long wait time anymore. They put a lot of artificial flavor in there I assume pandan and vanilla but you can taste. Chewiness is there with sweet bean filling but missing coconut. But the artificial taste just off putting. I love this place. It's great. Best part? They accept Zelle!! I've been coming to this place for the past 15+ years. Only thing that has changed would be prices due to inflation. It's great food! I always get the com ruou (in the fridge), the Banh de Lon, the xoi gac (orange sticky rice), and the Che Thai. Their biggest seller is the Che Thai! There's always a line but it moves pretty fast. The lady that served me was wearing gloves and didn't change it when she took the cash from the previous customer. Touching every surface at the cash register. The place only takes cash and doesn't even have enough gloves to change or the staff is just being lazy . CASH ONLY FYI! This spot is good & has ample amount of che. What you may know as hot che, they serve them all room temp/cold. There's no written prices so you'll have to ask or wait for the total. They even had a version of fried sticky rice and banana (like a little rectangle). They serve it with a side of sweetened coconut milk. The cups they have -- do have lids but they don't hold on tightly. So if you're driving far, you have to keep a close eye on them otherwise they will spill. We got che Thai, che bap, che chuoi, and that one big rice ball (I think) in the sweet syrup. As well as some different xoi. No seating inside, strictly to go. Parking is ok since it's in a big strip mall section so there's many choices. I can only speak for the che Thai but it was pretty yummy. I like that the coconut milk took on the color of the red rubies (so it was a light pink color). The red rubies weren't clumpy and were beautifully cooked. They added banh lot to it, omgg my favorite. The jackfruit was sweet and so was the other fruit. And they even had nata de coco. 10/10! If they have it, I also get the chè khoai môn--chewy, lightly sweet, and served in a light coconut milk syrup. The good: I've been to this location a handful of times and it's definitely the top che (Vietnamese dessert pudding) place in the OC. They also have flan and delicious pastries like sugar coated bánh cam (sesame ball with mung bean inside). I also tried a green pandan sticky dessert that was soft, fresh and not too sweet (the ultimate Asian compliment). I've tried their white bean che, corn che, three color che, sương sa hạt luu & others and they were all above average. They also have a variety of sweet sticky rices. The bad: It doesn't have as big of a selection as their other location. There's often a wait out the door. There was a beggar inside standing close to customers and interrupting them as they were ordering to ask for money.
