Excellent service. We had an issue where we ordered a pound of turkey and didn't receive it, but we didn't realize it until we were home with our to-go order. I called and they put our name on some sort of list and said we could claim it when we went back in, but we never did (well, we tried to at the 2nd st location and they didn't believe me ha). This was quite a few years ago, but when I called in March 2026 for the first time in years, I mentioned it, not expecting to be accommodated,I said I knew it was a long shot, but the lady I spoke with was very friendly, efficient and best of all, believed me and worked with me even when she didn't have to. Couldn't complete my order on line. Went to Edmond location after going to Waterloo location and finding it closed. Ordered 2 meat dinner. The sides were good. The brisket was not. It was in stringy chunks and super greasy, like it was cut from the fat cap. The ribs were good but nothing to write home about. Skip the bacon burnt ends, they were globs of fat with chewy bits attached. Not worth the $30 bucks. read more

My second trip to Texlahoma was better than the first, but I still have some hesitations with this place. Everything I got this time had really good flavor, ribs had the perfect texture (In my opinion), beans weren't too spicy but also weren't too sweet but, almost everything on the plate was served at room temperature minus the beans. The beans were warm. The fact that just about everything was about room temperature made me rate this experience lower than I wish. Not sure if I will come here again. read more

This is probably my favorite barbecue joint in the Oklahoma City area. Delicious ribs, brisket, sausage and hamburgers! Don't miss the fried okra. It's amazing. They are closed on Sundays, so Monday they only serve ribs and hamburgers. Don't let that stop you from going. Hamburgers are fantastic. read more

Had lunch there today and it was excellent! I had the rib dinner and the ribs were excellent and had wonderful flavor. I would've liked a little more flavor with the potato salad, but it still tasted quite good. The workers were super friendly and I appreciated how the manager stopped by to check on us. Why am I such a sucker for BBQ nachos? Is it because they are one of my number one comfort foods? Perhaps, but yeah they are my "feeling homesick I need some calories right now" type of food. This Texlahoma location is killer. Everything is consistently very good! Brisket, ribs, turkey, it's all good. Great sides as well. I'm very particular about BBQ, and this is consistently the best bbq joint I've been to in the OKC area. Our group of six had a great experience at Texlahoma BBQ. All of our meals were very good, the highlights for me being the okra and Butler baked potato (topped with three meats; it was so much food!). Good reviews all around for the ribs, smoked turkey and jalapeño sausage. The sausage had a good flavor, but was a little spicy for me. For me, it was a little pricey for BBQ, and the restaurant had kind of a chain feel since it was in a strip mall. But portion sizes were good, and they offered some unique items like the pulled pork nachos and the loaded baked potato. Overall, a very good meal. read more

The food i had tonight at the Waterloo location was terrible. The cook and servers were cocky about their food and service was less than average. My biggest complaint is that I paid $11.58 at the location on Second St. versus the $11.91 at the Waterloo location for the same meal. (I bought both meals within 1 hour) If I ever go back to this restaurant the Second Street location is definitely the restaurant to go to! Positive first: our food was good. But that's it. Staff was incredibly rude, no smiles, no thank you. We were the only people in for lunch, so you'd think they would at least be friendly. All the meats and sausage needed to be heated a little more. Only thing came out hot was the okra. The Cole slaw is sweet and potato salad is mashed like my mom makes. Like everyone said service is only ok. Manager was not friendly at all. I walked right by her to throw away my papers and never asked how anything was. The potato salad has good flavor but it is like a baked potato salad. Trailer taco was excellent with the bacon burnt ends. We also shared The Havana sandwich and it was ok. It said it was on jalapeño cornbread which it was but did not taste much like cornbread. I would have the Trailer Taco again but nothing else. Think I might try another place read more

Texlahoma has good BBQ and nice open space. It's a bit more of a Franchise feel than a Oklahoma Local place. The portions aren't bad but a bit small for money you pay. We got a half rack of ribs, Sausage Sandwich, 2 sides and three sodas. My cousin got a pulled pork sandwich and a soda. All of that came out to over $55 and we were all still hungry when we left. The sandwiches didn't come with and sauce or anything. Had three lame looking pickles on the same. Overall the food was good but I was a bit let down since we were taking a cousin from out of state to get some good BBQ. Had a vet "white people" feel to the whole thing. Great tasting bbq and even pretty damn good sides! I am VERY picky about my bbq, and was delightfully surprised by this stop! We tried about everything on the menu and the chopped brisket was the best in our opinion, though everything we had was tasty. The sides are often an unfortunate afterthought for most bbq places, but not here! Lastly the bbq sauce! It's sweet and non traditional, but it's also delicious! Well dang. We tried it for about the 4th time hoping it was going to be good this time. We have tried sliced brisket, nachos, pork and potatoes in the past. Are we ordering the wrong thing? We ordered the daily special which is a sandwich, side and drink for $15 l, turkey and a few sides. The Turkey wasn't bad, a little dry, but the mac and cheese was dried out and stuck together. The brisket sandwich was really bad. Completly dried out, but super greasy. It's like we got the last of the batch from days ago. Wow were they busy! I had to buss my own table. There were plenty of self serve things there though. Cooler to go grab your drinks and a window to grab your food when they called your number. Tried the brisket nachos. It was ok. Too much cheese sauce for me but at least the dry brisket helped soak some of it up. I saw the kid in the back cutting the brisket by standing it on its side. I'm kind of picky about my barbecue, and I'm also kind of spoiled with having tried a bunch of it from across the country. I'd read the reviews of Texlahoma, so we thought we'd give it a go. It wasn't bad... it was pretty good, really... it just didn't really knock me out. I tried the pulled pork and brisket, and I should stop right there. I'm not a brisket guy. Period. I'm sorry, it's just not my go-to meat. But, I'd read so much about how wonderful it was here, so I thought I'd give it a whirl. Admittedly, I probably would have appreciated it more if I WERE a brisket guy, but I have to say, it was pretty decent. There was a very dark bark, which had very good penetration through the meat. It was flavorful, but not very salty, which was surprising. Still, it was fully cooked, extremely moist and tender (in parts), and full of beefy goodness. The pulled pork was also moist and flavorful, but again, lacked salt. The sauces were good, so they helped accent the smokiness of both meats. The spicy one wasn't too hot, and the mild was very smoky. The sides were meh... fries and slaw... but definitely nothing to write home about. Still, you get sizable portions of everything, so it was very much worth the price. The staff was friendly, and that probably makes this place a four star experience instead of three. It was good BBQ, just nothing spectacular, I thought. But the crew was friendly and helpful, and like I said, you really do get a lot for your dollar. First and foremost- I don't really understand the reviews that complain about them running out of certain meats- that's what happens when a place is good!! Texlahoma is the hidden gem of Oklahoma. It's definitely one of the best BBQ places I have ever had. The location is a little weird- it's in the middle of a strip mall; but don't let that deter you. There's plenty of seating, and two TVs on either end. You order when you walk in then sit wherever. I had gotten the D3 sandwich, which had a rib on top, and brisket/ pulled pork on the inside. Normally they add sausage, but when we went they ran out, so they added extra brisket. No biggie. The sandwich is quite big- you definitely get what you pay for. The pulled pork was juicy, and the brisket was so good- the fat melted in your mouth and the meat was fresh and juicy. The rub they used was savory and had the right amount of kick. The bun was toasted to perfection and had a small amount of butter on it. All things considered, it's basically the perfect sandwich. You need to check out Texlahoma. I just don't get all of the glowing reviews for this place. Prices here are high across the board, for food that is only mediocre. A simple pulled pork or brisket sandwich, 1 side & fountain drink runs $15 with tax (was $9 only a short time ago). For $13 there wasn't much to their brisket nachos, just a weak white queso, too much sour cream and a sprinkling of meat (I left off the fresh jalapeno slices). It was weak on flavor, with too few tortilla chips, and the brisket on it was very soggy. Should have been piled twice as high for the price, and with more variety of toppings. Their hot and mild BBQ sauces are too runny, simply made but with decent flavor. I do like their extra crispy battered fries, from a bag but they cook them right. Dining room is low on atmosphere, feels like a poorly decorated chain BBQ joint. On weekends it's run by high school aged kids, but the young gal up front was outgoing and greeted each customer with a smile and welcome. But this quality of food for these prices just won't bring me back in. read more
