Side of green beans Very cost conscious establishment Both the turkey and the brisket was moist. The brisket had a little more fat on a piece than I would have liked but was acceptable. Can't say I was a big fan of the bologna, it wasn't bad, but not for me. While the meat didn't need a sauce, the Spicy BBQ sauce was a good combination of sweet and heat. It has been awhile since I've been to King's but was happy to see that they are still open. Inside was pretty smoky and there was no way you could leave the restaurant without smelling like smoked meats which is not ideal in my opinion. However, theybdo have some amazing smoked meats! I've lived here for 13 years and realized I never tried "Oklahoma BBQ." After some Google searching and looking at about 10 options, I chose King's BBQ due to their mom & pop vibes and great reviews. We tried most of the meats as I got the 5 meat, my dad got the 3 meat, and my gf got the ham. We were all very impressed and are likely to return. My only minor complaint is that burnt ends were sold out by the middle of dinner. We didn't come that late or anything. The 3 and 5 meat plates are kind of hard to fill out without duplicates and without burnt ends. So it would be nice to either have more burnt ends or allow duplicates on the large meat plates. But I get why that may not happen. I had to fill my 5 meat plate with various sausage which were good but hard to eat a lot of due to how rich they are. Of course, the 5 meat plate was ridiculous to begin with so that's on me, lol. I thought the portions would be smaller, but I appreciate the generous sizing. The Mac and cheese is simple. Has al dente noodles and a nice homemade type cheesy flavor. Complements the meat well. The mashed potatoes are good. Flavorful, creamy and savory. The okra is the best fried okra I've had in a long time. Batter is slightly sweet and the crunch is satisfying . The bbq sauce was alright. I tried it but did not use it. It is not needed. They provide a 2oz cup with the meal and thay was nice. Not needed but nice. I will tell you with all honesty that none of the chain places including rib crib, swadlys, earls, Billy Sims or any of those other joke places come close to food this good. Kings has most melt in your mouth meat that is flavorful and let's you know what real barbecue is. Don't sleep on this, get it now. Service is also very good, staff kind and wonderful to speak to. I'm generally low key on BBQ spots, most over promise and underperform. The Brisket was on point the, burnt ends hit the spot, taste and seasoning for both was amazing. The coleslaw was great for me it was perfect, the potato salad was good. The first thing you will notice after getting out of your car is the smell--that aroma of great bbq. It will lead you to their door. The inside is clean and aromatic (in a good way with that great scent of smoked meats!)!!!! I tried the chopped brisket sandwich with a side of okra and mac 'n cheese. I loved the okra and it had a slightly sweet taste which was random but good. The mac 'n cheese was ok (better than average, just not the best I've ever had). I would try some other sides next time. This BBQ spot is a gem that I'm so happy I found! It's close to a work meeting spot for me, and service is so good and so fast that it's perfect for lunch in the work week! It's a cool little spot with nice murals painted inside of the city sky line. But the food! Oh my gosh, these were the best ribs I've had in all of Oklahoma. I definitely should have only got the 2 rib platter instead of 4 because they are huge and amazing! I loved the mashed potatoes and gravy and classic fried okra. Big portions! Popular and tasty lunch spot during the week. First time was great: food, staff, all very good. The line to order/pay was to the door just about the whole time we were there, but fortunately a table was available right after we ordered (only 8 tables in the entire place). Had sliced brisket, pulled pork sandwiches, okra, corn, and corn nuggets, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it! Food came out quickly, as well. On our second visit, it was just as busy: got there at 11:15 on a Wednesday and the line was already nearly to the door. Tables were filling up, but obviously you can't hold tables in a place like this, as it would cause chaos. So my mother, my 83-year-old grandmother and myself patiently waited in line, and by the time we were about to order, a table opened up. Perfect timing! Well, at the same time, a guy comes in at the back of the line with a ~12-year-old son...and he has his son go "reserve" them a table. Absolutely ridiculous. We mention this to the staff, as that was the only available table, and the response was "Oh, yeah, sorry. Maybe you can have the people at another table make room, and you can squeeze in with them". Certainly not an ideal solution, so we left without ordering. The seating arrangement is a definite shortcoming here. And there is room for more seating, but the space is underutilized. More 2- and 4- person tables would also make much more sense than mostly 6-person tables, and in the event that a 6-top is required, you could simply scoot a 2- and 4-top together. A shame, as the food was great! I hope they address this at some point, but until then, we have removed it from our lunch rotation (about as quickly as it got added to it), as it's not worth the seating gamble. read more

I had heard about King's and looked it up online. They have daily specials and I saw on Thursdays they have turkey legs for $11 so I thought it would be perfect for take-out. It tasted so good and was so much cheaper than anywhere else. The service was quick for lunch and I was able to get back to work in plenty of time. The food here is always fresh! The catfish is the largest filet I believe in all of Oklahoma unless you go fishing yourself, and for the amount you get the prices are decent! I tried the taco Tuesday today. I got one of each of what they offer, one brisket and one pulled pork. They offer either creamy coleslaw on it or a spicy creamy coleslaw. I definitely made the mistake of not getting two spicy! I highly recommend the spicy! It's not too spicy. It's just right. And I prefer the pulled pork over the brisket, but that's just a preference. This is a hole in the wall place with great food. I don't even know if I've ever had "authentic" BBQ before, but this is how I imagine it would be. My last memory of Ribs was from a chain restaurant years ago in CA - they were kind of skimpy and dry, with Sysco BBQ sauce on top. I got the three meat meal - Brisket, Pulled pork and Ribs with spicy cole slaw, BBQ beans and a side of fried okra. My son got the 5 meat meal, his fiancé got the one meat. Everything was delicious. I thought the Ribs were especially good. The Okra was really good also, I don't think I've ever tried Okra before or if I did it was not memorable. The prices were really good for what you get. The portions are large. But my view is skewed - I'm from California where you would be paying at least twice as much for less quantity and it might not even be real BBQ. The cost of labor alone to actually BBQ all the meat would be prohibitive. One thing I'll say is it would most certainly be better if we were here earlier. We arrived at about 6:30 on a Wednesday. The place was virtually empty. The meat as I said earlier was great, but it wasn't real hot as though it was from earlier in the day. Also they were out of Burnt Ends. We were so impressed with King's BBQ! When visiting bbq restaurants, sometimes the meat is good, and sometimes the sides are good, but every single thing we tried here was top notch. We tried 4 different meats (sliced brisket, jalapeño sausage, burnt ends, and smoked turkey), and each one was smoky, flavorful, and tender. The sides are not to be overlooked! The baked beans were slightly sweet and absolutely delicious. The fries and okra were crisp and seasoned so well with some kind of seasoning blend that really elevated the flavor. The coleslaw was creamy and even the bread was really good. So I mean it, everything we tried was great! You order at a counter and food is delivered to your table. It is self serve on the drinks. So you have limited interaction with the staff, but the young man who served us was kind and helpful. I was told that the dining area was on the small side, but there were many tables and it seemed spacious enough to me. Restaurant was very clean, hats off to the lady that was busy cleaning and preparing the tables. Ordered the two meat combo. They said it would be 10min on the ribs. Which is fine with me. They were right out of the smoker. Great ribs. I'll say that the sliced brisket was the star of this meal!! I would say it was the best brisket I've had in the Okc metro.
