I've lived here for 13 years and realized I never tried "Oklahoma BBQ." After some Google searching and looking at about 10 options, I chose King's BBQ due to their mom & pop vibes and great reviews. We tried most of the meats as I got the 5 meat, my dad got the 3 meat, and my gf got the ham. We were all very impressed and are likely to return. My only minor complaint is that burnt ends were sold out by the middle of dinner. We didn't come that late or anything. The 3 and 5 meat plates are kind of hard to fill out without duplicates and without burnt ends. So it would be nice to either have more burnt ends or allow duplicates on the large meat plates. But I get why that may not happen. I had to fill my 5 meat plate with various sausage which were good but hard to eat a lot of due to how rich they are. Of course, the 5 meat plate was ridiculous to begin with so that's on me, lol. I thought the portions would be smaller, but I appreciate the generous sizing. The okra is the best fried okra I've had in a long time. Batter is slightly sweet and the crunch is satisfying . The bbq sauce was alright. I tried it but did not use it. It is not needed. They provide a 2oz cup with the meal and thay was nice. Not needed but nice. I will tell you with all honesty that none of the chain places including rib crib, swadlys, earls, Billy Sims or any of those other joke places come close to food this good. This BBQ spot is a gem that I'm so happy I found! It's close to a work meeting spot for me, and service is so good and so fast that it's perfect for lunch in the work week! Popular and tasty lunch spot during the week. First time was great: food, staff, all very good. The line to order/pay was to the door just about the whole time we were there, but fortunately a table was available right after we ordered (only 8 tables in the entire place). On our second visit, it was just as busy: got there at 11:15 on a Wednesday and the line was already nearly to the door. I tried the taco Tuesday today. I got one of each of what they offer, one brisket and one pulled pork. They offer either creamy coleslaw on it or a spicy creamy coleslaw. I definitely made the mistake of not getting two spicy! I highly recommend the spicy! It's not too spicy. It's just right. And I prefer the pulled pork over the brisket, but that's just a preference. This is a hole in the wall place with great food. I don't even know if I've ever had "authentic" BBQ before, but this is how I imagine it would be. My last memory of Ribs was from a chain restaurant years ago in CA - they were kind of skimpy and dry, with Sysco BBQ sauce on top. I got the three meat meal - Brisket, Pulled pork and Ribs with spicy cole slaw, BBQ beans and a side of fried okra. My son got the 5 meat meal, his fiancé got the one meat. Everything was delicious. I thought the Ribs were especially good. The Okra was really good also, I don't think I've ever tried Okra before or if I did it was not memorable. The prices were really good for what you get. The portions are large. But my view is skewed - I'm from California where you would be paying at least twice as much for less quantity and it might not even be real BBQ. The cost of labor alone to actually BBQ all the meat would be prohibitive. [[HIGHLIGHT]]One thing I'll say is it would most certainly be better if we were here earlier. The hours were listed as closing at 7:00 p.m. we arrived at 5:30 p.m. We were told at that time that the fryers weren't on so there weren't any fried foods available. We were also told they were out of a lot of the meats. We were lucky to be the last served. We were able to get the five meat king treasure. At 6:00 p.m. the cashier announced that they were closed. We were so impressed with King's BBQ! When visiting bbq restaurants, sometimes the meat is good, and sometimes the sides are good, but every single thing we tried here was top notch. We tried 4 different meats (sliced brisket, jalapeño sausage, burnt ends, and smoked turkey), and each one was smoky, flavorful, and tender. The sides are not to be overlooked! The baked beans were slightly sweet and absolutely delicious. The fries and okra were crisp and seasoned so well with some kind of seasoning blend that really elevated the flavor. The coleslaw was creamy and even the bread was really good. So I mean it, everything we tried was great! You order at a counter and food is delivered to your table. It is self serve on the drinks. So you have limited interaction with the staff, but the young man who served us was kind and helpful. I was told that the dining area was on the small side, but there were many tables and it seemed spacious enough to me.
