Super fast service and SO many options. We went on a busy Saturday morning. For it being our first time, the ladies were helpful and patient. We ordered about 10 tacos and it took minutes to prepare. We did order the green chilaquiles taco and while it took longer, it was quickly prepared. We sat in the restaurant to ate and noticed many people coming to pick up and take it to go. Something has changed. Stopped in today and have come in a few times in last few months and the flavors just aren't what they used to be. The green salsa had an "off" taste like the smell of mowed grass which it used to not have. My barbacoa taco was too fatty and I could not detect any spices at all. Tortilla was still pretty good. I came in today for the first time. I tried three tacos. I ordered the barbacoa with onions and cilantro, the carne guisada and one man, ahead of me, recommended - a picadillo with beans and cheese. He raved about their food! Said he and his wife came here all the time. And the green salsa! Everyone was asking for it! The place was busy with customers. The wait was minimum and when I got my order, there were a lot of seats available. The people working here were very nice and friendly! The food: first, huge portions! I ordered 3 because I wanted to sample a few. I wound up taking half of my order home. Worth the money. The tacos were all well made and very tasty. And the customers were right about the green salsa! Spicy! But not overly spicy. It was a tie between the carne guisada and picadillo but next time I'll try it without the beans. First time here and it was actually terrible. We were here for lunch and the cheese enchiladas were served to me cold. I mean cold cold. The cheese inside the enchilada was straight out of a refrigerator and the cheese on top was also refrigerator cold. How do you serve food that wasn't heated. The rice and beans had 0 seasoning. The tacos were good, I ordered 2 potato and egg and 1 bean and cheese-to go. The potato and egg were good, the tortilla nice and fresh. We ended up getting three potato and egg tacos and no bean and cheese in our bag so that was disappointing. They do not have a drive-through so you have to go inside and they have the most commonly ordered foods at the counter that they scoop into your tortillas or onto your plate. They do have salsa containers to go. Three different flavors, one is a little smoky , one is a tomatillo and I am not sure what the other one is. I assume just regular. They were all about medium spice. The potato egg taco that I got was good but disappointing that we ordered three simple tacos and did not get what we ordered. Right now the location is a little tough to get into because of all the construction so keep that in mind when going and that it is in a small shopping plaza. As far as service goes, they were pretty efficient. We came in and there was a line, but it moved pretty quickly. Most of the serving staff spoke Spanish and a few English. The girl at the register spoke English just fine. They do have a few tables inside and a condiment area and all of those things seem clean enough. Came in just a little before closing time to try the tacos we had heard so much about. Place is small with a few tables, a walk up counter where you place your order and the kitchen directly behind. After reading the menu I decided on a chorizo and egg taco and hubby had the shredded beef puffy taco plate with beans. I eat here frequently. It is good...occasionally it is great. Today was just good. I brought the wife and daughter today. Unfortunate because neither will likely return. The wife ordered the pancake plate. I, the huevos rancheros. There is a young lady that usually works the register. Not unpleasant but not particularly pleasant either. I normally don't care since this is a quick in and out place, but my last two interactions with her warranted a mention. Ok I'll spill the refried...but I'll be brief. I ordered three tacos, she charged me for two, when I told her the amount was off, she argued back and said it was correct. As In-N-Out is not even in the same discussion as What? A Burger? That being said true Texas Taco is a sight to behold. The tortillas rival Rancho San Miguel's, what sets it apart is the fact that Breakfast Burritos have been outlawed in the PRoK. A chilaquile breakfast taco doesn't fit CARBS parameters so good luck. We decided to try this after church and as we arrived we noticed the parking lot was packed - over the entire strip center and on a Sunday we knew it was just for the tacos. We said well that's a good sign. There was a line of about 10 people ahead of us. And about 6 to the right doing to go orders. We ordered chilaquiles (both red and green). The wife and kids said they were very good. Also chorizo and eggs. Also highly rated. I had the carne de puerco (green) and this was my favorite. Also the adoba pork was quite good. No hear me out. I have eaten my share of tacos across the state and I believe I'm almost an expert on the genre of food. I have a scoring system and based on that system this place is a five star place. The place is small but they always seem to have a place to sit. Typically the orders are to go. a small steam table where tacos are assembled in front of you is small but very efficiently ran. The tacos are tremendous and hearty. You will not be disappointed. They also offer usual Mexican fair. Caldo, enchilada plates etc etc The barbacoa is some of the best. The carne guisada is amazing and on my last visit the menudo was delicious.
