Disappointed....I ordered the machacado plate and though the machacado part was good. The beans and potatoes were bland. Not enough salt, or pepper. I ordered a "Mexican Coke" and it was delivered cold but it was flat! I was going to tell my waitress Perla about it, but she took a long time to come back and it wasn't the end of the world thing. The place was not very packed yet our waitress was very slow, and took a very long time between check ins with our table. However she was very polite. The floor plan reads like the place use to be an office. The decor is real good, I liked it. It made me feel more welcomed than the staff did. My husband had been here before with my in laws. This was my first time. Jalisco is the state my Mom was born in so I was very excited to try it. Service and ambiance were great from the moment we walked in. Our order was ready promptly and the staff was so attentive to our needs. To drink, my husband and I ordered a michelada (mine was virgin with Topo Chico). One of the best and tastiest Micheladas I've had. The chips and salsa are so good here too! So good that We ordered a second round. For my main dish I ordered 2 tacos; al pastor and chicharron (pork skin) with a side of rice & beans. The tacos were delicious. Simple and authentic, just cilantro, onion, and corn (homemade) tortillas. My husband ordered the ranchera plate which is a pork dish, the pork is cooked in a juicy, spicy ranchera sauce. I was very impressed and I will definitely be returning especially since it's not so far from home. The interior design is beautiful as well. Our favorite local dining spot. Never disappoints. My favorite is the Green Enchiladas with the green salsa on the side because it has one heck of a kick which is too much for me. I still use it because it adds to the dish. There's indoor and outdoor dining with a little gated playground for kids who are not ready to sit and dine. Staff is always friendly. We are normally told to sit wherever we like, which I like vs following the hostess through the maze of diners. The food was very very good. The green enchilada plate was huge. The plate came with refried beans, we request Charro beans and we were not disappointed. I'm not a fan of Spanish rice but this one was delicious. The menudo was so good, I took some to go. It's a well decorated restaurant, lots of room. I'm not sure how it is on weekends. Pretty sure for their dishes they use velvetta cheese which is fine if you like that! But I personally do not. In my experience the dishes i've had haven't had a lot of spice/flavoring. We were staying at the local state park and wanted to go eat for our last night. Jalisco was only a few miles away so we gave it a try. Wow!! This restaurant is amazing!!! This is our go to Mexican place since coming to the Blanco area. And yes!.... We drive 45 minutes for this place! I have gotten the same thing, the Tacos Cellejeros, every time I go comes with delicious Charro beans. My boyfriend has gotten the Mexican burger and tortas and he tells me they are amazing! He gets the French fries as well and they are crispy! The salsa selections are tasty and the chips and salsas a to die for! Really hankering for Mexican food today so thought we'd give this place a try. Entering restaurant we were greeted and seated right away. Chips and salsa were brought out quickly with our drinks. First basket of chips is complimentary, FYI. While eating our tortilla chips/salsa we noticed the decor throughout the restaurant has a definite Mexican feel to it, clay flooring, dishes, glassware down to the servers dressed in traditional clothing. After 5-10 minutes our food had arrived. I ordered the Mexican plate special $10 which consisted of 2 cheese enchiladas, salad, charros (cowboy beans) rice and a ground beef taco. The small quesadilla only had 1 type of cheese, wasn't large AT ALL, had no sour cream, guacamole or salsa even. I figured for the cost, I'd get at least a spoonful of salsa or sour cream on it. Last time I come to this place. I'll start by saying that the previous location down on 46 east of 281 was better. I'm not sure what happened when they moved but since the move, I came here about 6 months ago and the service was terrible. The food was like warm and just overall not good. Today we tried it again since our go-to place (Sandra's) was closed for the holiday weekend. HUGE MISTAKE! We should have just went home. Our waiter was just lazy and not good. He came by our table one time between wording and getting our food. My husbands coffee was empty and he had to flag down another person to get a refill. The food came and it was missing his side of beans and my side cheese enchilada. The food wasn't really warm and the worst part is I WAS CHEWING A BITE WHEN I BIT INTO A HARD PIECE OF PLASTIC! Gross! First off the Servers are not trained, it takes 15-20min to get drinks or water (if a server even shows up at your table) and consistently bring out food for tables that were sat after others.
