I've been doing business with this place since 2020 for my daughter and I still won't find myself anywhere else. The one staff member that I'll never forget is Jacob. His customer service is TOP TIER! Always professional, soft spoken but very clear and goes above and beyond with helping me understand the process of insurance etc. This time, I came to get frames for myself. I was very nervous to have eye exams for my two children and ended up with a wonderful experience. The staff were incredibly patient with my 8 and 6 year old. Dr. Castro was wonderful, explaining everything to my kids and making them feel comfortable around all the equipment. I will definitely return for my own exam as well. read more

Even with an eye appt, the wait in the waiting room was over an hour long...just way too long to wait today for anyone. even if it is a Saturday with no apologies about the extremely long wait & no updates on how much longer it would be before being seen and no refreshments offered like we've had in another physician and optical shop . There are many eye doctors available but we chose TSO because of pleasant past history in another city. I'm not sure If it's like this on the daily but long waited appointments can really make your customer cranky and irritated and they are the lifeblood to any business in the service industry. read more

Not pleased with prescription eye glasses I got from this store. My eye exam went well. But when I ordered my prescription glasses, something went wrong. Took over a month for my glasses to come in. I have been wearing prescription eyeglasses for a number of years, never has it taken a month to get my glasses. They never called to let me know there was a problem and delivery would be delayed. Then my glasses came in. Until the most recent of multiple trip back to store for adjustment have I been able to wear the glasses more than one hour without pain from nose pads pressure. On the most recent trip, one of the staff finally addressed my frustration with not being able to wear my glasses. If this adjustment doesnt work, i will be ordering another pair of glasses, I can't afford, from somewhere else, so I could have glasses i can wear. read more

I am beyond livid with this company. I went to get an exam back in March 2017 for glasses and because my eye was a bit blurry. I paid extra to get a retinal scan done and I found out I had something called white dot syndrome. They said I should see a specialist and that they couldn't complete my exam until the issue was fix. I PAID for my exam while I was there! A couple months after I got a letter saying my account was past due. I IMMEDIATELY called because I knew I didn't owe anything. They tried to tell me there was a difference in price because it was a medical exam and I didn't get a prescription. However I paid AFTER my exam and they would've added the balance all together. After speaking with someone in the office they left a message for the doctor and decided that I was incorrectly billed. I just received a call from a collections agency today for the "remaining" balance. When I called TSO I asked to speak with the office manager about an issue that was billed incorrectly and sent to collections. She was extremely condescending and not at all helpful. When I asked to speak with her boss about the issue she offered me the number for the collections agency. I declined it and said I would wait on hold to speak with her boss. She was rude and would not give me a time that I could call back. Please stay away unless you like ridiculous hidden charges and rude office staff. read more

this is the worst place for purchasing eyewear. i purchased frames on 6/8/19. every week they kept giving me the run around. mind you i already paid my out of pocket portion. need eyewear for a special occasion that only comes every 2 years, so pictures were taken and wanted my new frames for the memorable moment. jolenia was the worst. every week it was an ecxuse after another excuse. i finally contacted my excellent vision care provider only to find out i have been lied to by this jolenia lady. i have been purchasing eyewear for at least 40 years. this is by far the worst place to go. save your time and money there are more better places with better frames and excellent customer friendly service. oh yes my event was 7/16 and joliena was still calling making excuses. i managed to get my eyewear after the event from a much better customer service satisfaction place!!! read more

TSO in Schertz, had me pay up front , then billed my insurance company. Insurance company paid all, when I called TSO about it they said they billed the wrong price had to resubmit claim. After resubmitting claim my insurance company paid everything and told me that TSO owe me. Called them back they still said they billed wrong. PLEASE check with your insurance to see what they paid. In 2017 they messed up my order and I did not want to go back. I gave them a second chance this year. So If I had a choice, they would not even get a star. I have no issue with the Doctor, my issue was with management. In June 10, 2020 I ordered my glasses and when they came in on June 18, 2020, I was excited, I really needed new glasses. I get there only to find they ordered the wrong frames. I think to myself, Not Again, I made sure I picked the frame I wanted when I ordered. Then the manager tried to put the new lenses in my old frames and they clearly did not fit. There were gaps on every curve but she tells me my eyes would adjust to the gap. I could not believe she even tried to get me to walk out looking like that. I said no, but I really needed the glasses so I agree to use the new ones with the ugly color so I could see. I was then told it would take another two weeks to come in. On June 27,2020 she sends me a text that the frames would come in around July 2, 2020. After wearing the loaner glasses I realized they were too small so I ask if they ordered the correct size. She then states she would have to place another order for the correct size since they obviously got everything wrong. In the process I express my frustration, after all, who wouldn't. They weren't free and I paid over $300 for what I wanted. Now she offers to refund the cash I paid for the frames, not the entire frames which meant they were still making a profit with what the insurance paid. Which as of today, no refund has been seen. I express my frustration further. The next day, I get a text stating they would give me a full refund. I was told I would have to return the loaners. But I explained to her I would have to wait for the refund to clear, wait for the insurance to receive the refund, and pay full price with another vendor. That would also require more time delayed in getting my glasses, and she agreed that was what would most likely happen. I do not have that kind of cash and she knew I had no choice. I get a text from her stating she ordered several frames so I could choose, and I should have caught that, but I waited until she texted me that I can go in to pick a frame. On July 9, 2020 I go in, and she has three frames for me to pick from. It's at this point she tells me, "we couldn't get the frames you picked in your size." She knew this at the time she ordered it, She failed to tell me. Not once did she apologize for doing this, she knew what she was doing by ordering several frames. Needless to say, I walked out of there paying for frames I did not want. I will never ever go back to TSO again, and I will make sure none of my family and friends ever go there. The funny thing is at one point I gave up and told her, "You win, just order my glasses" which probably gave her satisfaction. But not once did she say this wasn't about winning. Love coming here! They remind me when I'm up for an eye exam and always book me fast and easy! They send you reminders which is always great. Every time I go in for an appointment I'm always greeted by friendly staff. They tend to me in a quick manner and they are never running behind. All the doctors I've had have been so awesome and answer any questions I might have. I also love that they are open on Saturdays. This is so convenient for people who work Monday through Friday 8-5. The staff do not return phone calls as promised. I left a message on their voice mail box, and it took a week for them to return my call. I don't think the Doctor's know their staff is doing this. The first time I ordered glasses from this place, they had to remake them three times before they got it right. The second time I ordered glasses, it took two times to get it right. I am in the insurance service business. If my staff were not answering phone messages promptly, they would be gone. So, I am gone and went to another doctor this week. I would be on the phone myself to find out why I lost a customer. You cannot fix a problem if you don't know what the problem is. Dr. Nielson has a chip on her shoulder and is rude!!! My family recently relocated to Schertz from Seattle Washington and we needed to find a new eye doctor. I have vision insurance that sent me to Dr. Nielson. The office was not clean, the glasses selection was poor & overpriced, and the doctor was unfriendly with a really bad attitude. Dr. Nielson argued with my husband about needing to buy expensive glasses AND buy contacts. High pressure sales from a rude doctor! My kids also found her to be rude also. The only nice thing that I can say is that the employees were very friendly. Next time my family will find an eye doctor in San Antonio which is right around the corner from Schertz!!!! read more

Arrived to my appointment on time, got seen 35 mins later, spent more time with the tech who did most of the exam, and spent less than 10 mins with Dr.Castro. During the exam instead of pulling my lower lid down the optometrist pressed against my lower eyeball area. My right still hurts from the pressure. I was never informed that Dr. Williams is no longer there and I would be seeing someone else. All the glasses are $125 plus. It is located next to HEB. read more

I have been using TSO for about 10 years, and I always enjoy my time spent in the office with the friendly staff, but each time I get lenses, frames, or contacts, I wait way too long until they come in. Here I am almost a month out and I still haven't received my lenses that I was told would take 5-10 days to come in. I'm tempted to get a refund since I have already paid in full. In their minds they already got paid, so who cares after that. This will be my last visit here. read more

We went there for a new patient visit and paid the entire cost of it due to our insurance. They were aware of this. Then we were informed that we'll just be paying $65 for the follow up (I asked them more than once about this to make sure there won't be any surprise charges) After more than a month, we got a bill for over $100!!!! Dr. Blaschke is a nice and good doctor but our experience was ruined because of the misinformation we received. Wouldn't have went back there if we were gonna be charged that much!!! I recently lost my glasses and had to make a last minute appointment yesterday morning to be seen. I was able to be scheduled and seen within the next two hours of my call. The staff was wonderful! Theresa was very warm and friendly and put me at ease during what I often consider to be a stressful and unpleasant experience (going to any doctor in general). The optometrist who saw me was also very kind and friendly. I had inquired about the possibility of lasik and she gave me her honest opinion about whether I would qualify or not (I don't ), but regardless I appreciated her honesty. They were also very knowledgeable and helpful when it came time for me to pick out new frames and lenses. I am not sure of the name of the gentleman who helped me out yesterday but was great. I didn't feel like he was trying to push me towards anything that was more expensive or unnecessary for my needs and budget, which is great. Only downside was that I was there a little longer than expected but considering it was a spur of the moment appointment this is understandable. Also a little bummed that my glasses won't be in until 7-10 business days but that's standard. Overall a great experience and I recommend that if anyone is ever in the area and need to see an optometrist this is the place to go! read more

As you may know, there are excellent reviews of this location which, is why I chose to go to TSO - Schertz. Unfortunately, it wasn't until after my terrible experience, that I realized the reviews were from over 1 year ago in 2014. Dr. Williams provided excellent service. Unfortunately, her staff did not and I was initially fooled by their smiling faces. It took over 1 month to get my prescription from the office. I waited over 2 weeks to get my trial contact lenses. The staff blamed the delay on the manufacturer which, did not make sense since I have used the same lenses and had essentially the same prescription for over 3 years. I have never had an issue of waiting over 2 weeks for trial lenses or even boxes of contacts for that matter. Throughout this time, I was the one contacting the office for follow up and spoke with 3 different staff members. My trials finally came in and I was told a staff member would contact me after 1 week to see if the lenses were a good fit. I waited 10 days and finally came in myself to do my own follow up again. Of course smiles and apologies were provided and 1 free contact solution for my troubles. Then I was told had "I" called earlier in the day, the Office Manager could have gotten with the Dr. to have the prescription signed. The Dr. had left for the day and the prescription would be emailed to me 1st thing in the morning. This never happened and after 2 days I walked back into the office to get the prescription. Even though, the services provided by DR. Williams were top notch, I will not be returning to the practice due to the inadequate staff. The miscommunication between the staff, lack of customer service, lack of efficiency, and lack of genuine apology is unacceptable. read more

lost trust after being a patient for many years due to several doctor errors. different doctors every visit, the intital doctor made recommedations and ordered testing. at 2nd visit saw another doctor who could not interpret the 1st doctors findings and ordered unnecessary tests while neglecting the real issue. contact lens prescriptions have been ordered incorrectly for my children. doctors and staff are always rushing which is one of the reasons errors have been made. i feel they do not have their patient's interest at heart. it is all about how much many they can bring in. read more
