I have been a client here for several years. During that time, I have had about three problems with my eyes and Dr. Klufas has always been attentive, thorough, and comprehensive. This week ON DECEMBER 22ND!!! (when a lot of procrastinating patients try to get it to take advantage of benefits before they reset at year end!), I called with an urgent issue that ended up being a scratched cornea. VERY PAINFUL! Not only did he see me same day but he needed to see me in 24 hours but that meant he had to come in on the 24th since he saw he so late on the 22nd. He saw me on Christmas Eve morning. I have never seemed rushed in any of my dozen visits in the past five years and he has always taken care of me. Stop what you are doing and pick up the phone and snag an appointment with the best eye doctor in Texas. P.S. His staff is first class also and he doesn't gouge you or overcharge you. The doc is first rate. The front office is another story. They don't seem to be able to help you with your insurance issues.

My wife and I have been coming to Dr Klufus at Diamond K since they opened. They have always been very helpful and professional. Earlier, I had to take my wife's glasses in to replace a screw that had come out. Kathy was very helpful and took care of it immediately, and no charge too! I highly recommend them! read more

Excellent Doctor. Done eye tests I have never experienced with any other eye doctor. I was well informed about my situation and I'm glad that I found this well knowledgeable doctor. Although this place is not the cheapest around, you definitely get what you pay for. I honestly dread going to the doctor even if its just an eye doctor but the Dr. and his employees make you feel very comfortable. My exam flew buy easily and he asked a bunch of questions to figure out the right kind and brand of contacts for me. I got a trial pair to wear about for a few days and a second visit at no cost to come back in and discuss how the contacts are working for you. I have dry eyes and an astigmatism so I have experienced plenty of contact issues in the past but this guy got it right the first time!! I was still glad for the second visit though so I could order my contacts and try on a few cute frames and to ask a few questions I had thought of between then and my first visit. When my contacts ran out and I went in the order another box I even got a pair to wear, that will last me about a month, to use while my box came in which takes between 3 and 5 days to get once ordered. read more

I had worn glasses for 20 years and I Dr. Kufus is one of the best optometrists I've ever been too!!! I went there on a recommendation and boy were they right! The receptionist is the nicest lady and Dr. Kufus remembers my name! Who know how you show up for an appointment a few minutes early and it take them a few minutes after your appointment time to see you? Doctor's offices always seem to be running behind especially at the end of the day but not at Diamond eye care! I always schedule my appointments for the end of the day and almost as soon as I get there, they're ready for me!!! In conclusion, they are the nicest, friendliest, best Eyecare place you can go to!!!!!!!!! read more

I am so upset and maybe I should have waited to leave a review about this place but I cannot.. We are a Military family and picked this place due to the family quality it states they have.. We got orders to Germany and need to leave rather quickly so we need to pick up records. I had no idea that a place that sits next to Randolph Air Force base would be as cruel as to charge for records even with PCS orders in hand. Let me just say I am glad that I just need records for my son and I. Now after stating we are leaving and have no choice but to pick up records the tech states that the "Doctor" is the one that wants to collect $40.00 for the records. So Military families BEWARE this place is nothing like the mission statement they have on there website. They will nickel and dime you. I have been a customer at this place for 2 and a half years have paid out of pocket for sets of glasses and this place can't even give me a couple of pieces of paper. I've been going to Dr. Klufas for about 5 years now. My annual eye visits are very painless - I get called back right away, everything is very efficient, and his office staff is very friendly. Even with eye dilation, I'm in and out in around 45 minutes. My son sees a pediatric ophthalmologist in town and we are NEVER out in that amount of time, even without the dilation. I highly recommend this office for eye exams and such. read more

I contacted this office with an emergent issue. When I called the office, I asked if they had availability to see me that day. This was the first office I called and was grateful to be told they had availability to see me. I went in and the doctor was great. The reason for the low review is the office charged me a $100 "emergency visit fee." When I called to make the appointment, I was not informed of them "squeezing me" in as they told me for explaining the fee when I called the office. I was not informed of being charged an extra $100 over the phone at the time of making the appointment or when I was physically present for the appointment. There was nothing in my paperwork to notify me of the possibility of being charged $100 for this "squeezed in" appointment. I would have tried to find another doctor had I been told of this fee since my insurance does not cover this fee, nor is there an agreed upon rate between my insurance and this doctor. I can't make a financially responsible decision regarding my healthcare if I am not told of extra fees possibly related to my services. This office no longer takes my insurance so I will not be going back to them. And the fact they don't take my insurance anymore makes me feel as though this office is trying to earn back some of the "discount" they agreed to take from my insurance when they provided me service. I feel as though this is a horrible business practice and wouldn't use them again even if they did take my insurance. I definitely don't recommend them unless you are not concerned with being notified of any fees you will be charged beyond the actual service done. read more

I've seen Dr. Klufas since early 2000-2001. He's always friendly and takes the time to answer your questions. His staff is great too, and I've had to reschedule a lot of times because of my schedule. Never had a snooty tone or snarky attitude. I've moved back to the area and started seeing him again. He discovered that I was over corrected from another diagnosis, as well as conjunctivitis from the extended wear lenses I was in. He gave me 15 pair of daily wear to use sparingly while I was being treated with some eye drops, and never charged me a dime. So needless to say, I'm sold on Diamond K Eyecare. I live in Buda and his office is in Schertz. That's a 48 mile one way trip! read more

If you need an eye exam, seriously go see Dr. Klufas at Diamond K Eyecare next to Schertz pd. He is the best! He took the time to review notes from my last visit, ask me about how things are going with vision (I have optic neuritis), took a scan of my optic nerves and explained the damage to me better than my neuro ophthalmologist ever did. They even offered to forward my results to my neurololgist-and all I went in for was a RX adjustment for glasses. I've always received excellent service and treatment. The office is clean and inviting and the staff is wonderful. I noticed that some of the reviews are unhappy about the price of an exam without insurance-to those people I say that you get exactly what you pay for, so don't skimp on getting proper treatment. read more

I'm giving this business a 1 for pricing! I'm in need of glasses and have called many eye docs in the area. I was quoted $120/10% discount out of pocket (i was paying cash) The doctor at 1604+35 charges $50 while one next to Vision Works in the Forum charges $59.00. I informed them and their reply was "that's nice" - I'll never know how service is because compared to other docs in the area - they're a rip off. read more

Dr, Klufas was recommended by my Retinal Surgeon. He said he is "excellent". He is right!!! Dr. Klufas takes time with you and your problems. Saw Dr. K 2 years ago and was impressed. We moved about 15 miles away and the next time I went to O.D., I went to someone closer. Big mistake! This time I went back to Dr. K. He's very thorough. I had been going here for about 3 years now. My son had an emergency where he needed to get a pair of contacts because his glasses were making him sick and he was in school. They would not allow me just one paid of contacts for him unless I made an appointment. I asked to talk to the doctor who was with a patient and was told he would call me between patients. That was at 10AM. I didn't get a callback until 5:30pm at which point I told him that I had to go elsewhere because he need to be able to SEE in school. His answer was basically, Oh well. That was the most horrible customer service experience I had ever received. You would think that after being a patient for that long, they would at least try to help. They basically didn't care about anything but making the appointment, which of course, is the income generator. read more
