Worst place to go for your glasses. I called early in the week and gave all insurance information over phone with the insurance company themselves and person told me good to come in on weekend(Saturday). I get here and I am told that they need to call insurance and verify via phone benefits and insurance company is closed on weekends. What do you mean you have to call and verify when I called earlier in the week with insurance company on the phone as well. This place is not in a good neighborhood, and the lady is so unprofessional. Do not waste your time going here. read more

The wait time to get seen did take a while but I understand because the place was packed in the afternoon and there was only two ladies working. I like that they're open late during the week, really convenient for those who work during the day. Once it was our turn, the service was quick and easy. Fortunately they were able to have my kid's glasses the same day. I love that they had flexible frames and polycarbonate lenses as options; my kid has autism and she's still young so I know she will be rough with them. So far I love them. After my decision, Charlie had me sit down and went to get the necessary RX my optometrist filled out for me. She measured PD or pupillary distance, and checked to see if I qualified for possible discount. I did, she gave me a discount on my purchase. My glasses were ready within an hour. When I picked up my glasses, I was immediately taken care of. After I put them on, she checked to see if I could actually read using my new progressive glasses. She asked for my glasses back so that she could clean them. I was given a new case & cleaning cloth for my glasses. Had to make an eye appointment with someone new because unfortunately, my Optometrist, Dr Thompson passed away and I had been seeing him for over 15 years. I was very hesitant because when you are treated as great as our family was treated with him it's hard to fill those same shoes. I went to the Eyemart Express on Walzem, went through my eye exam and then I went next door to look for some glasses. Never got a "hi", "welcome", nothing. Had to ask about the glasses, had to ask what exactly my insurance covered because it was a new insurance, she never measured (she being Charlena) my glasses on me, asked if I wanted tint, uv protection, scratch resistant, absolutely NOTHING!!!!! Told me my glasses would be ready in 2 hours and when I went to go pick them up, she just handed them to me, gave me my receipt and turned away. Come to find out a week later I was eligible to receive a free pair of glasses and needless to say that was never offered. The service here SUCKED and I absolutely will NEVER visit this establishment again! And the manager is as rude and non customer friendly as her staff!!!!! I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMENT THIS PLACE!!!!! Customer service is terrible. I have been sitting here for one hour and two families have been allowed to go in front of me. I guess it does not pay to be obedient nor polite. The man was repeating that he had a governor's exemption even though the technicians told him to wait outside for the safety of the other customers. He flat out refused and kept sniffing his nose without a tissue. I was in desperate NEED for contacts and glasses as I was previously going to an Eyemart Express located in Laredo, TX. Traveling to Laredo for my yearly check up was becoming an inconvenience, so while I was at work I looked up the nearest location to me and came across this one. When I called to make an appointment I was scheduled for the next day which was tremendous. I currently don't have insurance and it wasn't too high-priced. After 3 visits with Dr. Leyden E. Sianghio, I have completed my treatment and should be good for about 6 months or so. I had the best experience, the whole staff was really nice and made you feel comfortable. Everyone worked together as a team and made things go smoothly and quickly as possible. Dr. Leyden E. Sianghio explained very well what was going on with my eye condition and answered all my questions. If it wasn't for her recognition in uncovering my medical condition, my eyesight would have definitely worsened. Although, I was not too pleased to immediately get my contacts during my initial visit, it was all worth the wait. Never go here, terrible! Two months after I got my glasses they send me a $200 invoice saying that they gave me the wrong price when I picked out my frames and that I had to pay the new price. I said, that if I knew the frames where that expensive, I would have pick a cheaper pair. I asked if I could return them, they said no because it had been 2 months and I already used them. Very neat and clean. Take cash and cards. Many restaurants around (like tokyo espress and shipley donuts if you get hungry afterwords) or even a watermill express (for water refills ...5 US gallons) Less than a mile away. I simply can't say enough good things about the great prices, wonderful service and nice, nice people at Eyemart Express! If you wear prescription lenses, you know all too well the type of scenario that will send you flying out to the optician. No, I hadn't lost or broken my glasses - or ripped the last contact in the box - but I was sick and tired of having to peer through the tiny "sweet spot" on my progressives. To understand why I'd taken two years to finally replace a pair of glasses I'd hated since Day 1, you'd have to know that my last community HAD no affordable alternatives as far as glasses were concerned: you either coughed up the dough, or you squinted a lot. The despised glasses in question had been purchased with insurance. They had progressive lenses and a (supposedly) protective coating on them, but otherwise were nothing special: no tint, no oversize lenses, no designer frames. It took two weeks to get them, and even with the substantial discount afforded me by insurance, my out-of-pocket expenditure was over $200. So today I went on over to the discount eyewear district - the one closest me, anyway - to see what I could find. Beginning at the south end of the strip center, I entered the first place...and found a pair of frames I looooved. Problem was, the employees were too busy to even throw a glance my way - let alone a friendly greeting - so I left. Second planned visit: Eyemart Express. Again, I began trying frames -and almost immediately, was greeted warmly by an associate named Zoraida, who - though I hadn't even visited the optometrist yet - assisted me with finding frames which met my criteria. When Zoraida told me that Eyemart Express was running a special - 2 pairs of glasses for less than $100 - I cautiously asked her how much more it would be for progressive lenses. "That's WITH progressives" she replied. That's all I needed to hear: I ran next door, had my eyes examined, and 20 minutes was back, ordering my glasses: one pair tinted, both with oversized frames and progressive lenses. My total was $127.87. And best of all, both pairs were ready in two hours! read more

When they say express they mean it! Went in with a prescription it took my picky daughter about 10 min to pick frames out because they have a good selection. They told us to stick around it can be up to 1hr 1/2 but usually done faster. I'm too impatient to sit around so we left ans went to look around a Dollar tree. I got a text in about 15min that my daughter's glasses were ready!! The staff are very friendly and helpful and it's very reasonably priced in there. Also they have a 1 year unlimited warranty which is great especially if you have kids. I will definitely be back when it's my turn for glasses. read more

My insurance, like many others, pays for either glasses or contacts. I called and for simple plastic lenses they were only 38 bucks! I was skeptical at first because for sure I thought that was way too cheap, but I needed new glasses as well as new contacts. I decided to pay for them out of pocket as my contacts are much more expensive. I didn't have the time to get down there between work and school, so I sent my boyfriend with my old glasses (so they can use the frames) with my prescription. He ordered them with no hassle and they were done in about a half hour. Silly him though... he gave them my insurance to bill! It took a while for them to reverse it, but they did. And the total, to my surprise, was the $38 they promised over the phone. I will always come back here to get replacement lenses for my glasses. They were a great value! read more

Awful service! I let them know I needed a pair of glasses today, they said no problem and asked me to sign in. I signed in, called and got my prescription faxed over after sending in a medical release (which they could not find for 10 minutes), proceeded to wait an hour, and when it came time to get my glasses they decided to tell me the machine to make the lenses is broken and has been all day. What the hell? Why would you not tell me that when I said I needed glasses? Or when I first called to see if you did one hour service?!? Or when I called to tell my eye doctor back home that this was an emergency since I was out of town and my glasses were broken when I called to get my prescription faxed over? This was one of the most unprofessional experiences I have ever had and I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone even under the most dire of circumstances. read more

My husband and I have bought glasses from them for many years and have been satisfied in general with the service and prices. This past week I ordered two pairs of glasses and was told they could not be made 'in an hour' as advertised due to a broken machine part. Since i'd driven 40 miles to get there, I opted to have the glasses mailed to me. I was assured they'd be sent via UPS and that I'd have them within three days. It's been five days and I still don't have my glasses. Today I was told they'd be delivered by the end of the day Monday. We'll see how good the products are when I actually get them. Guess the service isn't as good as it used to be. Too bad! I'll shop elsewhere next time. read more

Terrible service and employees! The only person worth a damn here was the new guy (Stephen I think was his name). He was kind and understand all through my nightmare here. The manager wasn't terrible but practically non-existent in this whole scenario until my last nerve had been hit. I had my Rx sunglasses re-made twice and my regular glasses remade FOUR TIMES over a month. First they sold me frames that were broken (but assured me they'd be a new frame when my lenses were done), then they handed over scratched AR lenses two times (impressive since AR lenses come with anti-scratch coatings automatically) and tried to blame said scratches on me and not incompetent lab techs and with one of these totally bent my frames out of shape so badly I had to have my ophthalmologist heat them back into alignment properly . Last, they managed to royally mess up my PD in a lens resulting in my right eye feeling as if it was being pulled out of my socket. You know how I figured out they messed up my PD? I had to take the glasses to a Lenscrafters and the guy took one look at them in their lab after having me get a PD measurement and told me what was up. Nothing was wrong my ass. Each time I went in to give them another chance, they pushed the blame on me, or my eye doctor. They refused to even entertain the thought that maybe they just sucked and couldn't get a relatively simple prescription right after four damn tries. I could hear the lab tech in the back the last time I was in for a re-make actually having the gall to tell the sales associate that "nothing's wrong with the lenses, she's making it up". I'm sorry, WHAT? Why in the seven Hells would I make up my glasses being garbage if all I want is the lenses re-made? After hitting up Lenscrafters for a diagnosis and exactly a month of being run around and forced to wear an extremely outdated prescription, I went in and demanded a refund on the spot. Surprisingly no one tried to argue with me this time, though I imagine I must have been giving off quite a vibe similar to Bruce Banner clinging to the last shreds of patience at the time. The manager attempted to convince me to give them one more chance but relented to my demanded refund with ease. I now have a pair of glasses and sunglasses from Lenscrafters that are utterly perfect, for all the more expensive they were. Stay far, FAR away from this store if you want a quality product with equally good service. They may be cheap, but they'll treat you like a liar and/or idiot if you're unlucky enough to get a bum product. You're better off going to a private optician or shelling out at Lenscrafters like I did if you need new specs on the double. Don't mess around with these guys if you value your time and patience. read more

Several things - I was greeted when I entered and I said I was just looking and she replied, no problem, take all the time you need and let us know if you have any questions. and I was allowed to go through all the frames I wanted in the time I wanted without being hounded ever 30 seconds. love that. then when it was time, lady answered my questions and gave me prices and made me laugh. overall experience was fantastic and got both my frames that same day. told my mom, come here next time you need to get frames and ask for the lady that helped me ( I know her name but we aren't allowed to post them here). read more

First, after months of having continual sight problems, they had us go to the optometrist next door to get another eye exam. Come to find out, they had the prescription wrong and one of the lenses had no prescription at all. They redid the glasses at no charge. Second, after having continual sight problems the second time, we had a different optometrist check the glasses. The prescription was correct but the progressive invisible line was almost to the bottom of the lens and was useless unless you physically pushed the glasses up and then you could see to read a book just fine. As you can imagine, we will be going someplace else to get correct lenses. read more

This review is for this particular location. I have had to wait over an hour both time before I even got to see someone. They are extremely inefficient and likely need more staff to support the number of customers. Simple things like alphabetizing the glasses for pickup would really speed up the process. Then staff also seems to spend an awful lot of time dealing with paperwork which seems silly when there are tons of people waiting. read more

Avoid this place at all costs!! Long story short, went to get new glasses, terrible customer service, got my glasses which were messed up, took to my optometrist and she said they had the lenses wrong and they needed to be switched, she calls them to give them a heads up of me heading over, wait again another long hour before I went up to speak to someone at the desk, they put my glasses to the side and said she would get to it, four hours go by and I finally called them to see what was going on, lady on phone was rude, took awhile to figure out where my glasses were and then I get a call back with a rude lady again who says my glasses are ready. I had asked then that that was fast and I thought it would take longer. She gives an attitude by saying they do not take that long when I was not being rude at all at first. I get there and deal again with their terrible customer service after signing in and wait there by the desk since I was there for pick up. She says she has to go by the list. In all my years of customer service with a much packed office, it is smarter to deal with the customers you screwed over at all times first. Then of course the easy ones like pickups and drop offs. Overall terrible experience especially with one old lady in particular who should not be working with people if she is always in a terrible mood. Leave your problems at home lady and do not take it out on the customers. The lady I mainly dealt with was an old lady with blonde hair like a mullet type of hair.
