I called earlier today just to get a price on how much a contact lense exam would be and whoever was on the phone was adamant about me booking the appointment for that day. Told me that I could get an exam and a year worth of contacts for $198 I had him repeat this on the phone multiple times and he assured me that it was a valid deal they had. She even helped me find glasses verses the ones I had found I really didn't care for, she found some others I liked much better. So I would suggest not coming to Stanton Optical. I'm actually at the Forum location and it has been a bad experience all the way from exam to purchase. My wife and I both had appointments at the same time and the machine they used on her wasn't working correctly. Needless to say the glasses didn't come out right. My glasses were made wrong. I had to look through the top part of the glasses just to see distance. That's not good since I drive for a living. When I told them they weren't made correctly, they said I had to repay for them because I was changing from progressive to single vision. So I pay the cost for their screw up? Not acceptable at all. Today I decided to check out Stanton Optical in Windcrest. I had an amazing service. I was able to get an appointment for the same day. I was greeted by staff and assisted promptly. It was such an easy experience. I would like to especially thank Morgan for all her help and assistance. She explained the process to me and when things appeared to be delayed she went ahead and sped things up. She took time for me to make decisions about 1 or 2 and if you know eye exams you know that sometimes it's such a minute difference. She was so patient with me. Then she helped me in getting just the right lenses for my new glasses. And I found the most awesome pair for me. She then went above and beyond to really help me get what I needed down to a price point I could afford and I could not speak more highly of the experience. read more

Well, long story short--after several minutes of the doctor asking me to watch a video and look at various letters of the typical eye exam line of letters, I became frustrated. I told her I couldn't see through the lens. She kept insisting it was alright, for me to just keep looking through the machine's lens. I had to stop the exam and tell her the lens of the machine seemed foggy. She then texted the technician Morgan to come back into the room and check the machine. Turns out, the lens was never cleaned from the patient before and were smudged. After Morgan cleaned the lens, she again left the room. Then once more, after several times of the doctor asking me to tell her of what group of letters were clear or not clear... I again told the doctor I couldn't see anything clearly and felt something was wrong with the machine lens. The doctor insisted that I continue to look through the machine as it was, that it was alright. But I kept on pleading with her in that I could only see the exam chart clearly without the machine (popping my head around it) and in looking through the examining lens -I could see nothing clear at all. Yet she insisted... saying "NO!" That I had to use the machine as it was. She suggested I rest my eyes a minute or two, which I knew was pointless... but yet again we tried. Still, I had the same issues in not seeing anything through the machine. I told the doctor, "How can my prescription be accurate if the machine isn't set up properly, something is wrong with it?" -I insisted. Turns out I was right -as the so-called good doctor then texted the Morgan (whom she strangely referred to as doctor...???) to come back into the room and recalibrate and reboot the machine. Then and only then was I able to see through the machine's lens clearly without any issues. In the end we completed the exam and the doctor signed off, not offering or giving me any kind of review, evaluation or any feedback on my vision. Morgan then walked back in and asked me how it went; I told her -it went bad and that I was not happy at all with the exam and especially not with the so-called doctor, who was very unprofessional -even snapping at me. I told her I was done and would not be buying my glasses there nor even desiring the prescription as I had no faith in this doctor or the system of no doctor physically being present. Morgan then asked me if I'd desire for her to reexamine me. She said she was qualified to do so. I thought really...? I'd not trust their so-called doctor and yet here she wanted me to trust her -a saleswoman at best. In the end, I was offered a discount by Morgan if I decided to come back and buy my glasses with her. I paid the $79 dollars for the exam only as I had signed the agreement to do so regardless to any developed situation -as stated within the fine print. I was not offered a waver in not paying for the questionable exam. The technician Morgan asked me to call her if I had any questions or changed my mind -writing er name on a card and underlining the stores number. But seriously, an eye exam from a so-called doctor who was doing the exam remotely I couldn't trust... who was unprofessional and rude, examining me with unclean and uncalibrated equipment... I would not even take the results of... yet this technician wanted me to trust her in playing doctor with my eyes...? I thanked her -saying no. I was done with Stanton Optical. Conclusion: I should have merely walked out as soon as my gut feeling told me to, which was upon first entering the establishment after listening to Morgans sales pitch of a 'bait and switch' routine. In looking back, I should have walked out as well and refused to pay. Stanton Optical should do the right thing now in reading and reviewing this ill experience I went through and mail me a refund in full. But like with all such conglomerate businesses, I seriously doubt they will. Hence, my spreading the word of my negative experience. Beware -seek out a solid practice with an in-house physician ONLY. read more

Stanton Optical was over the top helpful in a difficult situation. My wife was recently diagnosed with cancer so we were on a really tight budget. As we all have experienced that normally salespeople just shove you into whatever will make them the most commission. But CHLOE the manager gave use a lot of different options that would save us money. She told us that my wifes prescription was very close to what she has already had, so she really didn't need new glasses. Then because we had previously bought my frames from Stanton Optical she suggested just getting the lenses but use the same frames I walked in with. Well all that saved us more than $600. I can't tell you how happy I am with Stanton Optical and specifically the manager Chloe. She looked in her heart instead of her wallet. They are somewhere abroad where they could not help me, I felt so frustrated and misunderstood. Don't go there misleading information every step of a non existent customer service. Make sure to ask the cost before you get your eye exam Because the special price advertised won't work if you don't order right after you took the eye exam and they will add a lot more $$$ . Contact lenses takes up to 2 weeks to get delivered and they most of the times don't have a trial contact lenses that you can try . Bad attitude and if you try to call any number good luck I was on the phone for 50 min and no answer. Simply don't go there any other place would be better . So I wrote a good review for Jay the other day and that still stands b/c she was extremely nice and helpful, but after two weeks,countless phone calls, TWO WRONG prescriptions, over 5 DIFFERENT contacts to "TRY" I wish I never came here and could get my money back that I have put into this joke of a business. 8/24 I came here to get an eye exam for contacts as I am pretty tired of wearing glasses. I was given the eye exam by a remote DR which I was unsure about in the first place, but hey its where the world is going so no biggie. After the exam I was given a trial pair of contacts, but never explained anything about the eye exam or what they found or anything so I go home and for four days wear the contacts over the four days I was having a really hard time focusing and was thinking that I needed to just give it time. I call back and get the manager who tells me to come in on labor day for a follow up with a live Dr so I am thinking okay, cool. Monday I come in and see the Dr and all he can do is talk about how all he does is fix issues so in my head im thinking this is awkward, but okay cool. So he tells me how I do have astigmatism, but was not given contact lenses that have that and how it is so bad that I was wearing regular contacts...(GREAT) so then he tells me okay here is your new prescription b/c the one you got the other day is wrong. So they were super nice about it and told me they would fix the glasses at no extra charge and give me more contacts to kind of make up for the mistake. I wear the contacts all of Monday and Tuesday and then I got a call on Tuesday saying that the glasses were ready which I was thinking was insanely fast, but went up there anyways b/c its on my route home. I stop in and ask about the glasses she said no that they call may have just been delayed by a week or so from the last prescription, but while there I let a lady know that the contacts were itchy and asked her if she thinks maybe I should not have contacts for whatever reason. She gives me a few contacts to try, but she said they were my right prescription that matched the new one I got on Monday and she had me try one pair on and I told her that it did look funny, but she said that it was fine and will adjust and sent me on my way with 3 different TYPES. I get to driving down the road and realize that it was not clear at all. I look at the box of the trials she had me put on and the paper prescription that I was given the day prior and it WAS NOT THE SAME prescription. Had she not given me contact lens' to put in my eyes that did not match my prescription I may not have been this pissed off, but at this point I am willing to let everyone know that clearly at this location it is all trial and error and you will be a guinea pig. I feel as if I deserve a FULL REFUND. I have gone to the Fourm location as of today and got my eyes reexamined and again my eyes were off from the last prescription given this past Monday. If I could give negative review I would. This place is a joke and a scam. My first clue should've been the fact eye exam was via Telemed call. But whatever, after my exam I waited in the lobby and the assistant came out with a Rx and told me that I had a slight astigmatism. That should have been my next clue something is not right here. So I picked out a frame and decided to have my keep my current frames and just change the lenses. BIG MISTAKE! After haggling with the assistant for a good 15 min about what I needed in a pair of glasses, mind you all I needed was an updated script since my last eye exam and my glasses were at least 5 yrs old at this point. Finally I was told that it would take 7-10 days for my glasses and being that I was getting new glasses that it should be ready sooner than that and they were already processing my order before I even left the store. After 12 days I called the customer service number and the automated system could not find my order based on my # so I was connected to a human and was told they me another 3 days. By the time day 14 rolled around I finally got a call that my order was shipped and should be at the store within 1-2 days. When I picked up my glasses I could not tell the difference. It's feels like the just put in plain lenses and charged me for it!! I can't even read anything close up or small without getting a headache! This place should be investigated! I'm beyond livid right now. I thought it was just me but based on the other reviews I'm not alone which I why I decided to write a review. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!! Update 10/18/19. So I went back to have my eyes rechecked by someone in the office on 10/10. Was told that since the original script was incorrect they would put a rush on the lenses. We spoke with Fabian and was assured we would have a call back in a day or two. I go back to the store on 10/15 after not hearing anything and the excuse was that the glasses weren't sent out until the next day and the lab is closed on Saturday so the lab didn't get my glasses until that day bc Monday was a holiday. I was assured that I would have them by the end of the week. So Friday comes around still no news. I go back into the store, this time I pissed bc I've been without glasses since 9/12/19. The girl said my glasses have not even left the lab which apparently is located in Florida. That was the final straw. I demanded a full refund and will be taking my business elsewhere. This place is a joke and they should not even be in business. The customer service sucks and all you get when you go in is nothing but lies! Save your money and go someplace that actually has an in-house optician, not one of those telemed docs. read more

4/8/2020 - Me and my sister went in to get contact lens exam which included the eye glass prescription for $89.95. We're like that's a good deal. We fill out the usual paperwork on Ipad. One of the ladies call us back and do the preliminary eye tests. The lady states the doctor is ready for you now. I walk in to an empty room with someone on the television screen. I was shocked. She completes the eye exam portion and one of the ladies comes back and tell me to go pick out eye glass frames. I go look. After she finishes up with my sisters exam she send her to do the same thing. Next thing I know she call my sister to try on some contacts. While I'm still waiting. A few minutes later she ask me to sit down and ask I had picked out frames I told her I would wait to see if I could see through the contacts before I ordered my glasses on 4/17/2020 after a day or so of adjusting to the new script. She then tells me that my trial pair of contacts would be ready in 3-5 days (4/15/2020). No big deal! I figured it would take about a week since I have an astigmatism. 4/15/2010 - I get a email telling me they are ready. 4/15/2020 - I'm all excited to go pick up my contacts. I get there and I get the door and someone stops me and said I have to go through the drive though for pick ups which I thought was ODD since they charge me $50 for the contact lens fitting exam. We go to the drive thru and one of the ladies said your contacts are not here. I tell her the automated system states the contact are ready for pick up. She said the automated system is not up to date. She then states we will call you when they are ready. 4/17/2020 - I get email that tells me I can check status. I check and it says still processing. I call the store and NO ANSWER 4/18/2020 - I call the store again NO ANSWER. So I call one of the other stores for assistance. They were very helpful. The gentleman checked and told me to go to the store on 4/22/2020 that my contacts should be there. I get there. Same as on 4/15/2020 NO CONTACTS. 4/23/2020 - I call the store again today NO ANSWER. I google and call another store on General McMullen who were very helpful. The lady tried really hard to help me. I called the customer service number (Stanton Optical) and was on hold for over and hour. It seemed like someone was going to answer but NOPE. read more

I purchased 2 pairs of glasses in August 2020. Both pairs have broken now, twice. The second time one of the pairs broke I dropped it off the week of February 8th, 2021. Yesterday was the first time I'd seen an optometrist in 2 years. Anyone entering is subjected to a small health assessment (temperature reading and a mini-questionnaire) My experience with My Eyelab was beyond amazing. Not only were they able to patiently assess my vision, my prescription was ready in a timely fashion. I would highly recommend this place to ANYONE, especially people without insurance. If no stars were given they would get negative 5. Ordered glasses and was promised a delivery date. Went to pick them up and was told they would be earlier in the week. Called the store and was told the order was somehow cancelled and would have to be reordered with no explanation as to why or how this could have happened.
