Surgery was better than expected, mainly because his pre-op person did a great job explaining what to expect and being coached and encouraged by Dr Wong all thru the procedure. It's not easy going thru this but his consistent encouragement makes it 100% better. All the staff are professional, friendly and on it. I've already recommended them to friends. It was so welcoming which is nice when you're about to have eye surgery. Dr. Wong answered any and all questions I had regarding lasik. He took his time during all of my appointments. When his staff went through the pricing and procedure, she went through it all so clearly I didn't have too many questions after it. I can't say enough about my experience here! During surgery, Dr. Wong narrated every little detail which was comforting so that I didn't have anxiety lying there for 20 minutes not knowing what was going on. Do your research on who you think is best for you but I will say out of all the places I reached out to, this place was by far the best!!!

This review is over due by two years…read more... I was recommended by Dr Brewer by a close friend that had gotten lasik with Dr Brewer in San Antonio office. I was so nervous about getting lasik but I am so glad I did because it's the best investment in my self I had ever done. Plus the lifetime warranty was what seal the deal. The fact that your vision may change again at a certain age and getting a lasik touch up is covered was reassuring it was money well spent. Honestly I wish I have gotten this procedure done over two decades and half ago because it would have saved me so much money on all the glasses I got each year. The total cost of lasik was less than the total value of glasses and eye care I spent. I wouldn't have struggle with embarrassing infamous foggy ‍ glasses when I am over heating or temp changes. Plus even with glasses I felt I could never really see clearly since I have astigmatism in both eyes. I was really surprised to hear through lasik I was able to get that corrected too. The whole process from beginning to end was easy and the best thing I ever decided to do. I can see the immediate results after the procedure is done. In my personal experience which my friend didn't seem to have the same experience....After the procedure when the numbing solution wears off and when you get home, your eyes burns like hell but follow the instructions given and go to bed right after and you will be fine. The next morning 20/20 vision. It's like magic ! It's unbelievable shocking how clearer I can see everything. The procedure was super fast like less than 5 mins total. I was shock how fast it went. Dr Brewer is the absolute best! Do I recommend Dr Ryan Brewer? 100000% recommend Dr Brewer! If you qualify for lasik, do it! Note before the procedure you will need to go get a consultation and screening to see if you qualify. For example, if you have super dry eyes then you will get declined. Luckily I thought I had dry eyes but it wasn't to the point where I didn't qualify. After the procedure for a few months I did see glares on vehicle windshields when wearing sunglasses but with consistently apply eye drops my eyes heal and I don't see that any more. I highly recommend Dr Ryan Brewer!

I was fortunate enough to see a great deal LasikPlus was offering in my Cigna dashboard, and things progressed very quickly from there! Had a free 15 min video consult, that led to an in person consult where everybody was so helpful and comforting. It was about 1.5-2hrs of eye exams before concluding with booking an appointment. I was not expecting to move this quickly, but the staff and online presence, made me feel comfortable...and excited. From there, Dr Brewer took about 5 minutes to successfully complete the procedure, and sent me home with plenty of recovery guidance and meds. Not only that, he called me a couple of days before to answer some questions I had over a 25 minute call! He made me feel comfortable right away, and throughout the process. My eyes felt better the next day, and now I'm a month in with constant improvements. Thank you all, highly recommended! Affordable, and top quality service.

And unless my memory is failing, his father (Dr. Mitchel Wong) treated my mother's cataracts in the 1980s. I have always been impressed by the state-of-the-art skills and equipment Austin Eye maintains. I'm also impressed that the Wongs have chosen to share their expertise by endowing an eye institute at the University of Texas at Austin. My most recent personal experience with Austin Eye was surgery for lens replacement. While some have derided the facility on Bee Caves Rd as factory-like, I would counter that with the fact that consistent good practices yield consistently good results. I felt well cared for throughout the process, and the results (my excellent recovery and visual acuity) speak for themselves. In the event there had been any problems, I was given Dr. Wong's direct cell number and email. The Austin Eye facility is beautiful, modern, and well-maintained. The same may be said of the older location along Jollyville Rd. I highly recommend Austin Eye for their expertise, state-of-the-art equipment set, and very positive and helpful office staff.

The surgery went fine and my eyes healed perfectly BUT I started experiencing blurry vision at all distances shortly thereafter. I was in the office about every two weeks for about 5-1/2 months after surgery. I was told to use 3 different eye drops by 3 different Dr's/techs. None of which did anything to correct the problem. My left eye is so blurry it feels like I have something in it all day long. To make matters worse, parts of my vision that were good before are now blurry. I can read text that I wasn't able to before without readers, however, it's like double vision and I can't see anything with any detail. When I finally got to see Dr Lancaster close to the 6 month mark, he told me my only option was to have one of the multi-focal lenses replaced with a mono focal lens, which he originally talked me out of prior to the surgery - oh and here is the best part - I was going to have to pay for the surgery because it had been six months!! So much for lifetime guarantee. Oh, and the BS they tell you about being to make any necessary corrections to the lenses, if necessary, after the surgery was not true. They never even offered that as a solution. They even sent me to an outside retina specialist who confirmed the blurry vision had nothing to do with my retina. I called three times trying to speak to someone about those results and no one would return my call. Its been over 2 months and crickets. I have been trying to get my medical records from them so I can go somewhere else to get my eyes fixed, but so far they have failed to give them to me. I spoke to someone who said they would email them, they didn't. I've left several messages because they don't answer the phone and I have received zero call backs. If you are willing to spend the 12k for this surgery, I suggest finding someone else because, in this case, you don't get what you pay for.

We arrived 15 minutes early for my Husband's 3:15 appointment. An hour later we had yet to be acknowledged except for taking our money and completing paperwork. Meanwhile, the front desk "trainer" and another clerk were gossiping, laughing and chatting- ignoring myself and others at the front desk waiting. After I approached the front desk, we miraculously were called back- 50 minutes AFTER our appointment time. But we only saw an assistant for tests. We were then put in a full waiting room and told there were at least three patients ahead of us so it would be ANOTHER 25 to 30 minutes before we saw a doctor. So two hours plus for a check up. But it gets better- turns out there were 10 patients ahead of us. So I wouldn't believe a word that anyone at this office says. I was considering using this practice for eye surgery myself. There is no way I would give them a dime of my money with such an inefficient office. If I ran my business this way, I wouldn't have a business. Zero star rating. Do better, Mann Eye Institute.

Never before have I come remotely close to the frustration that Dr. Ekeh left me with after my recent visit. The overwhelming feeling was "I can't make any sense out of anything he has said." He seemed to be grasping at straws. He said he wanted to ramp up my glaucoma medication despite the numbers were good and over more than ten years of my glaucoma successfully managed by someone else, now retired. Visual field tests show no major overall trend towards increased loss of peripheral vision. There was one recent test that was not good but I blame my state of mind when the test was taken. Indeed there is moderate to low loss of peripheral vision on one eye only. The vision issue I had been having has nothing to do with peripheral vision. Then he suggested bringing my cardiologist into the picture for neck problems -- again this is without high ocular pressures by their own testing. I stressed repeatedly that while it might be difficult I would like my issue diagnosed -- issue being that while driving in bright sunlight parts of my vehicle's instrument cluster and center display are washed out and impossible to read. There was nothing ambiguous about my description of the symptoms or my desire for diagnosis. I left with a prescription for additional eyedrops and a referral to a "Low Vision" facility. Low vision is defined as 20/70 or worse. My vision tests at 20/30 are not even in that ballpark. I had long texting back and forth with intake at the facility and when I told the very patient lady my symptoms was informed they had not told her any of that information re' symptoms etc. and it "changed everything." I canceled the appointment because they do not perform the needed diagnosis as to cause of the problem but teach the nearly blind how to use magnifying glasses, special lights etc. I feel bad for the waste of her time down this rabbit hole. To make that referral seems beyond clueless to me. I called the surgeon who has retired from Texan Eye and successfully managed my glaucoma for many years. He is also a personal friend and listened to my story and said the problem seemed like "dry eye" syndrome. Indeed, I have had moderate eye irritation for a while now but never made the connection or thought to bring it up falsely dismissing the irritation as allergies. he told me there were other things to look into if that didn't pan out but I have already noticed improvement using the drops he suggested. To solve any sort of problem it is best that the problem be diagnosed as the first step. Two doctors other than Dr. Ekeh currently at Texan Eye have not been able to do so. My main eye care doctor currently is Dr. Zhu. I appreciate that he was up front that he had no idea what the problem was and at one point suggested a retina or maybe it was a pupillary specialist. Unfortunate that he ended up referring me to Dr. Ekeh instead. Dry eye syndrome seems not to be that uncommon and there are treatments for it beyond drops some of which are just an office visit. It seems unfortunate that I have to impose on a personal friendship to get any useful guidance in my quest for the best possible vision. I had five star experience with Texan Eye for many years due to an excellent and caring doctor. This latest does not deserve one star.
