I just spent spent $50 on a meal from Texas Roadhouse that was pretty much garbage. The salmon was supposed to be 8 oz. but looked like 4 oz., and it was cold! The steak was supposed to be medium rare, but looked like medium well. No natural juices. I also asked for extra Caesar dressing and didn't get it, thus, the salads were completely dry. They always have friendly service here. Their rolls and honey butter are so tasty, we go there sometimes just for the rolls. A personal favorite of mine was cactus blossom! They slice a whole onion open and fry it. The sauce it comes with is great. Love the western vibe here, and the singing for your birthday. I know their filet minion is a crowd favorite as well. I've been here several times before tonight and received phenomenal service but tonight was NOT the case. Our waiter seemed like he was in a hurry the entire time we were there so we felt super rushed. I ordered an alcoholic beverage - Armadillo Punch and it was super yummy. I couldn't taste any of the alcohol though lol! We ordered fried pickles for our appetizer. For my entree I ordered the 8oz USDA Choice Sirloin. I got it smothered with sautéed onions and mushrooms. For my two sides, I got a Caesar salad and steak fries. The cook I got for my steak was medium. My husband ordered the 8oz Dallas filet, loaded mashed potatoes and a Caesar salad. We ordered a Mac & Cheese kids meal with a side of broccoli for our kids to share. Our appetizer arrived first of course and the basket was full of fried pickles but they only gave us a small thing of ranch. I love fried pickles but it was too salty for me this time. Our salads came after our appetizer. As I was mixing up my salad I found a short black hair in it. I was so grossed out, I did not want to continue eating at all. We informed our waiter and he apologized then went to get the manager. The manager came over and apologized, asked us if we needed anything and we asked for more ranch for our friend pickles. He went to get the ranch and that was pretty much it for our hair issue. A few minutes later I could hear him tell the table next to us that he was giving them a gift card for them to return. Umm okay. Just because they didn't get the correct cut of meat does not trump getting a nasty black hair in your food. We got our main courses and I have to say that getting fries was a huge mistake. My fries were literally swimming in the juices and blood from the steak. They were so soggy that I did not even touch the fries so it was a waste of money and food. I cut into my steak and it was medium rare. My husband cut into his steak and his was medium. They got our cooks incorrect. At this point I was ready to go home and didn't even want to finish my food. We got a to-go box and check right away. My husband was still working on his potatoes but the waiter came and took his plate away... Our check was $66 with an $8 tip. Maybe our waiter was having a bad day? Regardless it doesn't excuse the way we were treated and the service we received. P.S. I left him a $20 bill on top of the $8 tip my husband left on his card. Why? I love their BBQ Chicken. Usually very good food. Last night my food was great but the kid's food, not so much. They had Mini burgers and fries and all three didn't take more than a few bites. I tried the burger. It was dry, it had no flavor. McDonald's makes a better one and that's very surprising. When it came time for the meal to end the waiter asked how it was. We have been to five different locations and this is by far the best!! Really, no other location even compares. The service is exceptional, and the food is consistent and always cooked perfectly. We moved to the St.George area two years ago and have been so disappointed with their restaurant. I understand being busy (most Texas Roadhouses are consistently slammed) but that is not an excuse to serve sloppy, poorly cooked food. Nothing is worse than paying for food you could have cooked better yourself. We came back to Orem to visit and were so happy to come back to this location. We ordered an appetizer and had a member of the party not quite there. The front end manager - Aaron- came and told us we needed to call our party member and get their order bc we had been there 20 mins. They were on a motorcycle so it wasn't possible then he said he wouldn't be able to have our other party member sit with us and they would have to wait. We decided to just pay for the app and drinks and leave. What a ridiculous customer service approach. I would get it if they were busy, there were at least 12 open tables the same size as ours. It was really his approach which was rude enough for us to pay and leave and then go across the street to outback. I'm still just shaking my head as I am just amazed at how rude he was and when we said we will just leave he didn't say anything and then just walked away. We ordered online. Pickup was great. We took.it on the road and upon opening the food found the rolls (which is something we look forward to the most) we're burnt! They forgot our drinks and the steak bites were made up.of fatty pieces. We usually dine in and I regretted ordering online. Awful. I would of asked for different rolls and sent back the steak bites. I have been coming to this location as well as the Lehi location for several years, and have noticed a distinct difference between the two locations. The Orem location just wants to push you out as quickly as possible. They do this by bringing you appetizers, salads, and entree at just about the same time. Talk about framing a table with food! I have always loved Texas Roadhouse, but every time we have come the last couple times one of our steaks has been either over cooked or undercooked. I love the food here, but we consistently have had issues with the meat. I love Medium Rare and it is Medium Well and my Husband loves well done and it is normally Medium Rare. I just want to have a steak cooked to the temperature I want. All the sides are amazing and have never had any issues with those. We love to go there because our service is usually friendly and it didn't disappoint this time, we got Misty as our server, and she was amazing! She was so friendly and our kids loved her. It's midnight after a 4:30PM meal. Hell on earth has come to our household. Vomiting has taken place, but not from undercooked food, rather the smell of our gas after eating a Cactus Blossom. We know the onion is the source because for the first time our farts are both rancid, and identical in smell. Now I call these farts, but they are so much worse. There needs to be another word for this class of gas. This is the type of fart that makes rooms inhospitable, perhaps for days or even weeks after a night like tonight. Oh how we wish we had taken a different path in life. But it's too late for that now. All we can do is weep that these gasses will forever change the smell structure of our brains. These gasses will undoubtedly reduce the resale value on our home. I draw weary, and will update the review when (if) we recover from this. Texas Roadhouse, would go back for that bread. Beware of the cactus blossom, so good going in, so good going out (if you're trying to get out of an afternoon meeting, these are guaranteed to make management rue the day ended remote work.) I love Texas Roadhouse. It's a surprisingly affordable steakhouse with incredible food. To start their fresh rolls and cinnamon butter is delicious. I always get a steak of some sort. Their New York Strip is usually my go to, but when I'm feeling fancy I go for the filet mignon. Always cooked perfectly, seasoned beautifully, and delicious. I also love their Caesar salad and steamed broccoli. I've also tried their prime rib and it's delicious. My wife will often get that. Their burgers are always a great choice. They have great steak fries. No fry sauce, but there is ketchup on the table and I usually ask for Mayo packets. (that's all they have) Probably my favorite chain steakhouse. When you're off the clock you're not really because they have you do other jobs other then your own. Lorie the store manager started this Texas Roadhouse 8+ years ago and she is the worst manager. She seems happy and cheerful but she is demeaning, negative and overall disrespectful. She should be fired for the way that she handles her employees. The mashed potatoes are as if they are homemade. The drinks are great, plus they have free refills. Everything about the food is simply SO good. If you are looking for a place that is reliably tasty, this is the place! The wait may be long to be seated, though. Plus the servers are busy, but the rolls certainly make up for that. Chad! What a server! We came in on Valentine's Day for dinner. We expected it to be very busy and have a long wait time, life hack: JOIN THE WAITLIST ON YELP BEFORE YOU ARRIVE. We were seated so much quicker! Once seated, out server greeted us promptly, took our drink order and appetizer order which came out very quickly. They thought I was just another dumb customer that doesn't care about my food, but they were wrong. The top layer of the ribs is the best. Texas Roadhouse! I kept driving past it since they opened in Orem. I HAD to try it. So I finally went a couple weeks ago. First let me tell you that as soon as I walked in there it felt like I wasn't in Orem anymore. It was loud, rowdy (in a good way), and honestly PACKED! We could barely get through the door. There was a line just to get to the hostess... After about 15 minutes standing we get to her and she said the wait was gonna be about "10-45 minutes," I was like okay? lol not 10-15 or 30-40...her "best guess" was 10-45 mins. Idk, I just thought it was kinda random. Anyway, we sit on the little waiting area (which was also packed) and have a chat for about 30 minutes then when we are finally called we are told to walk into the eating area and wait more till the other hostess sits us, which took about another 20 minutes. I wasn't too happy with their method as far as that goes. However, everybody seemed happy and cheerful...I loved the atmosphere overall. Plus my expectations were high and I heard wonderful things about their ribs, so I figured good things are worth waiting for and kept an open mind. Once we got seating our server came right away and offered us bread and explained the menu. She was super quick to bring the fresh warm bread and our drinks. Next thing I know we were enjoying our appetizer (delicious fried onion!) and just a few moments later our entrees. ( had prime rib and mashed potatoes and I was pretty happy about the taste. The caesar salad could use some improvement though. The service was BEYOND quick and the food was delicious and reasonably price. I was very happy and decided the wait paid off. I figured next time I will just call ahead. It was also a weekend night so it's understandable. Overall, I highly recommend this place. Everybody is happy and the food is great. Don't take me wrong... this is my favorite restaurant. Last Saturday I wanted to try one of the combo options because I always get the same 16oz sirloin. The chicken critters with a 6oz sirloin says it's $15.99 but since I really like the steak I was hoping I could get a 8oz. I asked our server how much it would be to upgrade from 6oz to 8oz so he went check, came back and said it would be $9 more. WHATTTTT??? I told him that in the sirloin menu there's only a $2 difference between the 6oz and the 8oz and he said: "I don't make the prices, I'm just told what to say" It just sucked because he really didn't want to help us. The food snob in me wants to point that this is a chain, it's always overcrowded, anyone calling TR's steaks the best around probably haven't tried much else, etc., etc. However, I do love the rolls. I do love the relatively good pricing. I absolutely love the chicken critters, and the steak isn't terrible. It's actually not bad. At the same time, though, I've never had a steak done just right. Last night I ordered medium rare, it came out medium well. I didn't send it back because it still tasted okay and, honestly, we're talking a $13 choice ribeye, not a 28 day dry-aged, $30 per ounce Kobe or Wagyu. So I'm giving TR somewhere between 3 and 4, maybe 3.8. The servers are always nice, my kids always love it, I don't break the bank, and the people-watcher in me laughs whenever they force a poor soul onto the saddle. read more

We were visiting Utah for the weekend, and went to Roadhouse for dinner (we sadly don't have them in Seattle). It was very busy on a Friday night, and the wait was about 45 minutes. Inside, we were seated, and ordered drinks. We both got a roadhouse roadie margarita. This was a bad choice. It was basically a cup of fruit juice due to the strict liquor laws in Utah (no actual bar in the restaurant like other roadhouses and the drink was very very weak), and nothing like drinks previously had at roadhouse. I'd suggest you don't waste your time on an $8 cup of juice. Then the rolls came out. The rolls were underdone, but our server kindly swapped them for cooked rolls. The steaks were cooked as requested, and the loaded baked potato was fantastic as usual. Bottom line - get a steak, skip the drinks, and don't miss the loaded potatoes! read more
