My bf has never been to Texas Roadhouse so we decided to go for his birthday. We went later in the evening around 8ish. It was pretty packed and we had to wait for our table for 20 mins. Once we got seated, our server greeted us with fresh & warm rolls. The rolls are a huge staple for this place. We ordered drinks and placed our order. I got the New York strip medium-well with green beans & Jamaican cowboy. My bf got the New York strip as well but with fries & his drink was bourbon. Sadly we had such a bad experience here. Our server was Leah. We were seated without rolls. We ordered our food once server got to our table since it was pretty busy. We watched other tables get bread and bread refills which were seated after us. When we asked our server she nonchalantly explained she was in the back doing side work? This was peak dinner time lol ok so we got our rolls after we ate our salads. She brought us two baskets to make up for it which didn't. Then we got our food which the steak was so dry we had to ask for another. She walked right back with another steak... like the kitchen had one ready and waiting if we were to complain about it in the first place. Why would they have served that?? My husband could barely swallow the steak it was so dry! He also never got his green beans which were his sides. We ending up asking for them to go and she brought us one side of green beans(he ordered two). We did end up tipping her a full 20% because I do understand it was busy. However, there were so many employees chatting and bus boys/hosts standing around... just felt very poorly managed. When she took my cash she grabbed it and said thankyou as though I didn't need any change. Which I didn't bc I was trying to be the bigger person but it was just kind of rude especially after she KNEW our whole experience sucked. The amount of food in my salad was more than enough. The ranch dressing was thicker than I like but it wasn't bad tasting. The crispy chicken salad did not have croutons. I cannot rate this restaurant any higher because the bathroom was in disrepair. It was absolutely disgusting, and I had a toddler in there with me splashing around in the water on the floor. I love this place. Saturday they were so busy but got us seated in good time. Nikke our sever was wonderful and friendly. I was concerned that we asked so much of her but what ever we needed she did not hesitate to get it. The food was hot and delicious and we did not have to wait long for it. Nope food was done but no rolls for our order yet, said it would still be a few minutes before complete. Okay, they're busy. Didn't get rolls until 7:49, 38 minutes later. And that was after going inside and asking for the manager. No apology or offer to make things right, just "here's your rolls". By the time we got home with our food it was inedible. Went on 6/5/2026. We checked in at 8:18pm. It took 45 minutes for our food to come. When it finally came I ask for a well done steak. I got a rare steak. I sent it back and asked for the manager. The manager told the waitress that she would take off $5.00 for our food be late and being an inconvenience. We had to ask for bread and silverware. I asked for the managers, and she never came. At this point I was disappointed, I told the waitress I wanted the bill and to remove the steak. Since we had been there for over an hour and the manager did not come to our table. This visit was chaotic, seated in an area with another large party, each crammed into a booth with a chair on the end. In the same area, a baby carrier on the end, and a random booth of 2 with a chair on the end. The smaller tables were irritated. Not sure where the mistakes happened, but definitely safety protocols not followed. Communication could help, with the server version and patrons. Our server did her best, but service wasn't what we are use to compared to our home location. The food was good, but not great. Giving 4 stars because I normally don't have any issues at all but on Mother's Day my server forgot my Mac n cheese, proceeded to lie about where it was and brought it out togo without a lid. Not completely terrible but could've been better. My main reason for reviewing was how rude one (maybe two) of the African American hostess women were to the Caucasian hostess on Sunday. I only saw a piece of what happened but from what I saw it was completely uncalled for.. Being rude to people is wrong but being rude to your coworkers in front of guests is REALLLLY WRONG. Might need a little chat with the team about how to act and present themselves because they are the first people guests see and that can make or break people's experiences. We had a gift card and decided to drop in for a weekday dinner. It was really busy for a Tuesday which is a good sign to me! We were seated immediately, and got our drinks and dinner order taken shortly after. Never ran out of drinks/water and food showed up quickly, hot and fresh. It was very busy which I understand but it wasn't the best experience. Most of the food was pretty good but I ordered a sirloin for my main meal and tried to chew one piece for like 5 minutes straight. I finally let the staff know and they just put the same piece back to cook. It was a little better but the cut of the meat was just bad. I'm pretty sure the server forgot about it because it took a very long time when they took it back to cook and I felt like it was bad service not to offer a refund or a new piece. We ordered three steaks at about 5:05 p.m. About 30 minutes later, we were told that our order had been sent to another party. The worst branch of this chain I've ever visited. Will not return. Been twice in 2 years both awful. Another chain not meeting corporate standards in the Memphis area. What a shocker. Besides every single part of our families meals being not up to par the hours should state closing at 9 not 10 pm. As soon as it hits 9 pm nothing fresh is getting made or replenished. The menus also are absolutely disgusting covered in wet mixtures of food, grease, and cheese sauce. So gross i questioned the sanitation of anything after that. We did a walk-in here recently and the place was very busy, even though it was a weeknight.  That said, the hostess still greeted us with a smile and got us seated in under half an hour :-) Our server was very friendly, and got our food out to us very quickly once we'd ordered.  He also brought us extra bread (with their delcious cinnamon butter) when we asked for some. Tip: The portion sizes are quite generous, the food is very good and priced well given the quality and the portion sizes. While the music was a touch loud, it totally contributed to the "country" atmosphere they seem to be going for. read more
