We arrived around 7pm and every table but one was occupied. Our friendly server welcomed us and asked about beverages within minutes of being seated. Food choices were unique--grandson order his with Mac and cheese saying "every time you cone you should try a different burgers because they are all great!" Burgers are all juicy, flavorful and are made up of unique combinations! Their special sauce is house made and a highlight of my meal. The restaurant itself can be a bit loud so it's not optimal for intimate conversation or for older folks who might have problems hearing; but it is perfect for a lively environment to get your energy up. This is a seat yourself establishment. There is indoor and outdoor seating. When the weather is nice they will open up the glass doors.

Later during the meal, he admits that Momma's is one of his spots, so that's saying a lot. It sort of looked like another bar/restaurant from the outside, but they have a nice outdoor patio overlooking an old decrepit building which is at least some scenery. Once inside, you'll quickly see it's highly decorated and has a claim to be one of the only trucker themed bars in the US. Inside is decked out to the ceilings with signs, neon, old mirrors, collectibles, and many other items. I swear it looks like it's been in business for 30+ years, but my client said only a couple of years. I looked over the basic menu and saw burgers, breakfast, salads, sandwiches, a famous pork chop, wings and a few other items. The client and my colleague quickly ordered devilled eggs, cheese curds, and chili cheese fries. The first two apps were really good, I didn't try the fries though. They had a burger of the day, and a food special of the day, but I settled on the wings. With those I chose the 10 pc, Buffalo with dry rub, smoked. Kind of a weird combination since most people usually order dry here apparently, but I like saucy wings. When they come out, they are huge and I knew I wouldn't be able to finish them. I think I could only eat 6-7. My colleague had a ribeye steak salad which was a protein bomb he loved, and my 2 clients ordered a big rig grilled cheese which he also loved and a fried chicken sandwich (firebird) which looked really good. Overall, I really liked this place and it's one of the best meals I've had in Memphis the handful of times I've visited.

I went two separate times and had two different experinces. One experience with an invited group…read moreand second experince was togo order. With the invited experience the food was hot and fresh because we are featured guest. However, even with food togo there is a reasonable hottness that stays with fresh cooked food. I ordered a Cobb salad with fried chicken and a burger with wedge fries at a lil after 5:00p and text to pick up was 5:21p. I was there to pick up at 5:28p. I walked in and stood in the entrance, near make shift board hostess stand, not sure but to my left was a hostess counting money, a guy at a kiosk eating with an apron on and the busy bartender. The hostess saw me, smiled and finished talking with guy at kiosk, they talk briefly until he sees me then walks over. I grab the order and feel no warmth. I figure the buger on top of salad maybe but nope, sure enough I get home and it's old and the fried chicken on the cobb salad is frozen. It was dried out and reheated. The amount of blue cheese was insane the lettuce was not fresh. The cheese on the burger was two different colors, the toppings looked old as well. $45 for a salad and burger, trying to support our local spots and the inconsistency is appalling. The burger was so good and fresh at the invited event only for me to remember it, and want to go back months later. The I pay my hard earned money, use my expensive gas to drive from East Memphis to Downtown and get a frozen breaded chicken patty on a salad and an old burger. If my feelings ain't deeply hurt because why are you not cooking real chicken breast?

I'd say they're really good based on the size it comes in. The Philly Cheesesteak was also really good too. My biggest complaint would definitely be the onion rings. Both the batter and onions seemed low quality. It seems like they use a fried catfish style batter for the onion rings which didn't work for us. Plus, the onions were very thick, which affects the outcome of a good onion ring for obvious reasons. Too bad. But big shout out to the servers here. They were all very sweet and helpful. Would definitely recommend giving Tommy's a try, minus the onion rings.

The cook was not observant and we had to have one of our burgers remade. The cleanliness ranked zero... the bathrooms were something out a horror film and everything was covered in their famous 100 years old grease- Even the salt and pepper shakers.... The service was spotty at best. We had to ask if we sit down to order or if we were to order at the counter. The mandatory 20% gratuity is a little audacious but I can understand if they are tired of getting stiffed by ungrateful diners. There is an additional 3% penalty for using a card as well. We paid $20 to park, ate $40 worth of food ($50 with tax and the mandatory tip). This was not a $70 experience. I feel robbed.

The food was fine but our meal took forever because each person's food was delivered one person at a time, and so slowly that #1 was finished before #2 arrived. There were four of us. I don't know what was off, but it was not a good experience. The vibe wasn't bad, and the food was great. I think on a better night it could be a great place to go.
