I visited Outback today around 4:00pm. When I walked in, the host greeted me by asking if I was looking for someone. I replied, "No, I'm here to eat," and was seated. After that, I waited about 7-8 minutes before a server came by to ask what I wanted to drink. This was surprising since there were only about five other guests in the entire restaurant. I placed my order and then waited another 25-27 minutes before my food arrived. The server set the plate down and immediately walked away. I needed steak sauce, so I got up to look for her, but she was nowhere to be found. After waiting 5-6 minutes, I noticed two servers chatting with guests. I asked if I could get steak sauce, and they told me they'd bring it after finishing with those guests. I went back to my table and ate my sides while waiting. Ten minutes later, still no sauce, so I stood near the back area until a busboy came out. I asked him, and within a minute he brought me steak sauce--much faster than the servers. By the time I finished my steak, the server finally returned and asked if I wanted a drink to go. I said yes, paid, left a $1 tip, and headed home. The steak itself was bland, though the sides were good. The service, however, was poor. If you're looking for attentive service and tasteful food, I'd suggest going elsewhere or maybe trying a different time of day. read more

Outback is just overrated to me but I was a guest and my favorite dish was spot on! The wdge salad is so under rated. A good crisp lettuce wedge with blue cheese crumbles and dressing is life when done right. The wings with sweet barbeque looked great and the clam chowder was better that execpted. The wait time was descent even though we had reservations but entire party was not present at the reserved time. No issue. Sunday in the bible belt at a restuarant is a game if checkers. Anyhoo, not enough bread came out even when more was promised. My dish was so dry and of course steak was over cooked. Some guest got styrofoam cups while others got glass while dinning in. We went to Outback Steakhouse for my sister birthday with a party of 6 people. From the time we walked through the door the atmosphere was extremely warm and welcoming. Our server provided excellent service and she ensured my sister received her complementary birthday ice cream . This was truly exceptional because it went well with the cake we were allowed to bring in for the celebration . Now the food was served fresh, hot and timely. We ordered the blooming onion, cheeseburger combo, steak with baked potato, 3 cheese dip steak appetizer and chicken pasta meal. No one had a complaint or concerns about anything negative. I can't believe it has been 4 years since I have updated my review for this location. Since I have had them twice in the last week, I figured why not. Today, I had the Kookaburra wings. They were deliciously tossed in our secret spices served with our Blue Cheese dressing and celery. The wings did not disappoint at all. The meal that I have gotten both visits is the Alice Spring Chicken combo. It comes with grilled chicken breast topped with sautéed mushrooms, crisp bacon, melted Monterey Jack and Cheddar and honey mustard sauce. To top it off you get two sides. The service was undesirable, we were at the table for over 30 minutes, and our waitress kept skipping us due to the fact that we were a group of teenagers. We had to beg the waitress to serve us, to which they never put the order in. We never even received the food, as we ultimately decided to leave. The ambiance was awkward, and the other workers were purposefully ignoring us, serving other groups that arrived later than us. I never go to outback with high expectations and I think that helps when they surprise me. We had dinner there this evening and it went well. They were short staffed but able to get our food and drinks to us very fast. The steaks we had were cooked correctly. Appetizers were quick and cooked properly. I've eaten here many times so I feel as though I can leave an accurate review, and not just a one time bad experience review. The restaurant is filthy and is poorly cleaned. Every time I come to the bar, it is never wiped down. It always has food crumbs from previous people all over the bar counter top. There are gnats flying around the bar also. The servers are nice, but their service just sucks to be honest. They do not check on you enough and they always forget to give you silverware. Sometimes when you walk in the restaurant there is no one at the door to greet or seat you, so you're just left standing there. The staff doesn't do a good enough job making sure people have a good experience here. It feels like a bunch of people who came to work and can't wait to be off. This place has gone down the drain. As a walk in party of 13 on a Friday early evening.. the crew didn't hesitate once to help us with fast friendly service! Our server Shawn was beyond amazing!!! On 10/11/25, I placed an order for a 16 oz. Prime Rib medium well, with a loaded baked potato and house salad through Doordash from the Midtown Memphis restaurant. What I received was an overcooked/burnt piece of shoe leather, cheap cut steak, a baked potato that was burnt several hours before I placed my order, and all was room temperature. The salad contained soggy croutons and only a half of a cup of Ranch dressing. The only things that were edible were the salad (after removing the croutons) and the dry stale bread. I'm currently in Memphis for work and I did an online order for a Grilled Chicken for 4 meal. I spent over $60 only to receive 75% of my food. Unfortunately, I noticed once I got home. When I returned with my receipt, I received horrible customer service. Instead of Melissa being honest and owning up to her mistake by admitting she gave me only one bag and the manager Jared thoroughly assessing the situation, they chose to assume God knows what and treat me poorly. I have not been to Outback in a good 10-15 years. I was very hesitant but we had a large party and they could accommodate us. We did have quite a wait but, again, we had a large party. Our server immediately came over and introduced herself. Took our sink and appetizer order and BOOM she was back in about 5 minutes! Everything was accurate and hit and fresh. I made a table reservation for an after work meet-up as this is in close proximity to my job. I haven't been to an Outback in about 5 or so years. The website was very easy to use, and signing up was a quick process. Upon arrival, I checked in to notify staff as requested and was informed they needed an additional 10 minutes to prepare the table. There is a nice sitting area outside the front door ( beware the mosquitoes are already out here in Memphis) . In addition, there is an additional wait area inside. We were eventually seated at a table with ample space. Our server Terrance was great. He started us our with the warm and flaky complimentary bread and butter spread. When I provided my drink order, I was informed that the boomarita flight wasn't available despite being listed in the menu. However, all of the cocktail options are reasonably priced. I chose the blackberry Martini, which was so delicious. For my dish, I chose the three cheese steak dip, which was not only flavorful but a nice size for sharing. I'd also like to point out that they were jamming. Their playlist was great and had us singing along at the table the entire time. Overall, we had an amazing night. I've been to this Outback twice. Both times it's a management dilemma on the worst level ever. First time I came I sat at the bar for 15 min. And no one came to wait on me. So, I up and left. The manager did come outside and apologized and said he was extremely short of staff. Ok, but left anyways because I wasn't going to get any better service. Second time. I'm like out I'll give them another chance. Walked in to the bar, got served a nice cold one. Ok this is better. Ordered a burger, extra onion, pickles and cheese. Order came, had a tomato on it. The food was good. I enjoyed my steak and mashed potatoes. We were seated fairly swiftly and had a nice server. We got our drinks fairly quickly which is good because we never got a refill. I will be fair here though and say she ended up not charging me for my glass of lemonade. Food came out in a reasonable time. And we got the sauce we asked for. My coworker cut into her medium well steak and saw that it was medium rare. It took like 5 minutes to get our servers attention. Then like 10 minutes to get it back. I was practically done with my meal. We didn't see our server after this. We eventually asked for our bill and it took like 10-15 minutes to get out checks then another 15 minutes to get it picked up. Our lunch took nearly an 30-45 minutes longer than it should've. I'm not a fan of steak, and if you aren't don't worry they have other meat options on the menu. We chose to not get any entrees. I chose a Caesar side salad and loaded mashed potatoes. There's plenty of dressing on the salad so no need to ask for more. One person in our party spilled her drink in her food. It wasn't a problem for them to remake her food. So on 2022-06-12. I placed my order through Doordash, and I ordered the Apple Blossom shrimp and fries with bacon and cheese. The Apple blossom shrimps was soggy and cold, the fries was cold and tasted like they that been setting up for a while and the was cold. I paid 31.00 through doordash for this awful food.
