After a very delayed flight I finally arrived in Memphis and still had a two hour drive home. After 10pm not a lot to choose from so gave the Whataburger a shot. First off the staff last night were a hoot. They were a fun group. Really enjoyed their fun attitudes. Now I did have to wait about 15 minutes for my food so I deducted a star for the wait as a to go order that is a long time. The burger was hot and the fries were extremely hot. AWFUL SERVICE, awful food, understaffed and rude. I love whataburger but this location needs to be shut down. It's actually fairly new and it's sad that there's no management. I wanted to dine inside as they were open (or supposed to be) but as I walked in someone ran to the door and locked it and said "drive through only"! So, I already had a bad taste in my mouth but I figured they were just understaffed, ok going to roll with it. The lady over intercom acted like she was upset I was in the drive through. I stopped by this Whataburger a few minutes before 7 PM on June 7, 2025--and immediately regretted it. I went into the restroom and watched a young employee, fully dressed in his Whataburger uniform and wearing food prep gloves, exit a stall. He was blasting music from his phone, which never stopped--not in the bathroom, not in the dining area, and not even when he walked straight into the kitchen. What he *did* stop for? Not the sink. He strolled right past it--still gloved, still vibing to his playlist--and headed behind the counter to start handling food. I caught my friend just in time to cancel his order. We left immediately and went to Chick-fil-A next door, where we hoped the food wasn't served with a side of whatever he brought out of that stall. I filed a complaint online with Whataburger. Unsurprisingly, no one has responded. If this location's idea of sanitation includes skipping handwashing and bringing bathroom bacteria straight to the grill--set to a soundtrack--then I'll pass. For a fast food establishment, this location is anything but fast. We went through the drive through for milkshakes and a salad. Well strike one they didn't have any milkshakes. I still wanted a salad so ordered a garden salad with fried chicken. There were like 3 cars in front of us and the line was not moving. We finally made it to the window to pay after like 20 minutes and the salad was still not ready. Took another 10. Like what? Finally recieved my salad. This place has been open less than 2 months and it's crazy busy. Like most FF joints, they are understaffed, so it takes a while. We placed our order thru the app and a 10 minute time frame became 35 minutes. However, everyone in that kitchen was hustling; they just need more workers. I will say, though, that front counter worker Da***a had quite the attitude; it was so clear she didn't want to be there and really didn't want to deal with people. The food was fresh & hot, but they didn't give us our onion rings. I went up to the counter to ask, but after probably 15 minutes just gave up on getting them. Arrived at the drive thru and ordered 2 combos with onion rings. Pulled to the window and was told to pull up the white line. After 10 minutes a worker came out and said that they didn't have onion rings and would I like to substitute with fries. I told her no because we don't eat fries. She said that I could come in and the manager would give me a refund. I parked and when I got to the door, it was locked. Had to knock 3 times before someone came to let me in. Food is delicious, I mostly go there for the taquitos and upgrade them with jalapeño. The onion rings are spectacular, crisp, juicy, and a bit sweet with the onions right in the edge of caramelization. The service leaves a big to be desired, and I typically order through the app which is also nice as it gives specials and coupons you wouldn't ordinarily know about. The problem is the traffic flow through the drive-thru.what they built two order lanes and have, merge into one and have two windows is a mystery. The problem is a mix of drive-up orders and internet orders. Though this has gotten better recently and I have been told to pull up just past the pickup window a few times because there were orders from the drive-thru. Now there are peak times and I try to avoid them. If going to pickup at the drive-thru, I usually go between 4:00AM and 5:30AM. If outside those hours I'll do curbside or just walk in and get my order. Never really had a problem, just try to avoid the high traffic peak times. There was a time when I would drive a bit further to the location just north of IH-40 as there was usually no wait, but this location has improved much since their first open. As far as accuracy of orders, yeah they've tweed up a few times. Each time I have reached out to their customer support in the app and they have gone well out of their way to make things right. If the order is wrong when I pick it up or get home, I deal with it and just open a ticket with their support team and they get back in a reasonable amount of time and as I say are usually generous with their corrections to make it right and help build customer loyalty. Is the place perfect? Not by a long shot, but they are improving so given all these factors and the ease at which customer service issues are resolved, I'm giving the rating as an overall. They are actively working to correct problems and if you have any issues, the best thing to do is report it as soon as possible. read more

Too messy to even eat it. I also watched several cars pull up in the second lane to not get their order taken and no answer at the mic. I wouldn't say that they are the worse that I have had, but nothing was truly memorable that would make me rush back. I ordered myself and hubby a cheeseburger combo and they were just ok. The fries were pretty good, I had the spicy ketchup with it (which I enjoyed). That's honestly why I went because my cousin hyped the ketchup so much. Very slow service. Ordered a large order (8 burgers, 8 fries, and 8 drinks) online ahead of time. Waited the allotted time that they posted it would take and even waited at the store an extra 20mins (ie over 50 mins), and still waiting. By the time you read this, I'll probably still be waiting.............(insert elevator music here).............. And I'm back. So even worse customer service. Milkshake machine was down and they had to refund me for a couple of shakes. I had to re-enter the line to get the refund. More time wasted......(insert more elevator music)....then they didn't hand me my drinks. Had to get the 6 cups, go wait at the drink fountain.....(insert more elevator music)..... and finally I was able to leave this nightmare where I wasted over an hour of my life! Ended up getting back to work late to top it all off, and all of the food was cold!!!!! Unlike some of the other reviews, out of the 10 workers I could see inside working, only 2 were putting in any effort. They did not appear to be understaffed but people were walking slow and making jokes the entire time I was there. We came in for a quick bite to eat, and the restaurant was not very clean. We were greeted with a manager (I'm assuming manager she had on a striped shirt while everyone else had solid colors) standing behind the counter dropping "F-bombs" loudly and talking about how bad the breading is on chick-fil-a food and how they don't have enough on them. About 2 mins after us ordering a new manager came in from the back and immediately started getting the employees in line, she was kind and wanted the place to look nice and it was obvious. This is by far the slowest Whataburger I have ever visited. I try to stop in the morning because it's on my way to work. On a couple occasions I have had to get out of line in the Drive-Thru and leave, because they were taking so long it would make me late. Some of the workers are extremely unprofessional. No matter how many times you say thank you, they never reply with your welcome. Some will not say anything at all others were just mumble uh-huh. I'm a huge Whataburger fan, this is the only place I will eat a hamburger from. But this location has got to do much much better. read more

so my husband and I placed and online order for curbside pickup at Whataburger Winchester Road. we placed the order at 9:53pm. it's a 5 minutes drive from home and we stoped to get gas along the way. so lets assume it took us about 10-15 mins to get there. We pulled up at the curbside selected the number so they could know exactly where we were. We sat there patiently for about 15 minute, nobody came with our food. So, I went inside, I was at the front of the line, 2-3 people behind us waiting and nobody at the counter. I have been waving to a guy in the kitchen in an orange top, he looked at me once and put his hand up, I assumed somebody will be with me shortl. people walking up and down until the people behind me got upset and left. one guy commented poor customer service. listen I waiting patiently, whe someone finally came to me I asked her if anyone was working at the counter because there was even and line and they left. she was just starting then she said " how can I help you?" didnt even acknowledge my complain. Anyways I realized someone was going through the door with my order so I explained to her I was waiting at the curbside for more than 15 mins to collect my food, she asked in the kitchen and she said it just went out. I was shock when I went back to the car and looked at the time it was 10:59pm. Its like they didn't care because there was only 1 car in the drive thru and nobody inside so what was the 1 hour wait time for. listen I love Whataburger but this customer service thing needs to be fix. if they are over worked, fix it, short pay, fix it, short staff, fix it. one lady was outside at her car very upset, obviously the same waiting issue. read more
