Wanted to try out Dixie Queen because there around us but we were off put by the look and at the mess, unclean machines... the booths were falling apart. The milkshake machine was so gross. This is a great spot for down to earth burgers, fries and ice cream treats! For one, they serve Purple Cow milkshakes which is something I haven't seen in the longest time! Two days ago I stopped by on the way to pick my daughter up from school and got ice cream but I was rushing. The lady at the speaker and window was very polite and helpful. However, she didn't hand back my card and since I was in a rush I didn't realize. Once I noticed, about 4 hours later, I went to the restaurant (because the number online is out of service) and asked if I had by any chance forgotten my card when I went through earlier. The gentleman was very helpful and called someone to see if there was a card left. He was able to find it, I thanked him and was very relieved. So a coworker and I wanted some ice cream on this rainy Wednesday afternoon post lunch...Well we though hey how about Dixie Queen.. Well how about NOT.. Never again.. Started by ordering 2 humdingers with Butterfinger and since they DO NOT HAVE CHOCOLATE. The lady told me they could add chocolate syrup instead, Ok cool. I get back to work ready to eat our much-needed ice cream treat only to tase nothing but soured, old, something way off with this ice cream So I decide to take it back and see what's wrong with the order and to just have my money refunded. She said she was going to get her GM and see if she could refund it. GM comes out and says that's how we make them but with me adding the chocolate syrup to them was a weird combination. "MIND BLOWN" So she says she can remake it for us the normal way without the chocolate syrup. I said fine why not give it one more shot.. Get back to work and it taste just like the first one very old and sour.. The ice cream machines are probably not cleaned properly or something... or hell who knows. The food is abysmal and the chaos amongst the work team would almost be comedic if it was not so pathetic. As I waited for my food, a customer ahead of me inquired about his food. The girl behind the counter replied that she had called his number fifteen minutes ago. I don't know if she did or not, but what would follow with me would hint that, no, she did not. I placed my order of a chili dog and a cheeseburger and when my food arrived the same girl demanded my receipt. I said that I needed a receipt and she said it was in the bag. I looked in and there was what appeared to be a receipt and walked out. Once in my car, I looked and the receipt had no pricing or anything. It wasn't a receipt, but an order ticket. I trudged back inside to the pandemonium of an inept staff and asked for a receipt and shown what I was given. The woman asked the other woman where my receipt was and she replied that she threw it out. Well, than why so insistent that I give that receipt to you. Now, confusion reigned again as they wandered aimlessly hoping me or the situation would go away. Then the second woman got it in her head to dig through the garbage and started putting on a pair of rubber gloves. So she wasn't willing to touch trash, but was content for me to take that garbage as a receipt. I then told her she could reprint it and she followed up and found she could. No apologies, no nothing. visited the Dixie Queen on Airways in Ketchum and proceeded to the window to place an order for an upside-down banana split with extra nuts. There were already two cars in line, so l opted to drive around instead of waiting for the attendant to take my order when I reached the window. When I returned, she acknowledged another customer and took his order before assisting me. The wait for my order exceeded five minutes. Upon receiving my order, I noticed that it did not include extra nuts as requested. Another gentleman arrived, and the attendant promptly opened the window to assist him. The other attendant offered to provide extra nuts in a cup, which I appreciated. Throughout the process, I requested extra napkins due to the ice cream melting, but the initial attendant did not acknowledge my requests. Another attendant with a nose ring provided the extra napkins. The initial attendant's attitude was disappointing throughout the entire experience. I've only been here once so far but I'll tell you what -- I'll be back!!! I had the double cheeseburger and fries and I was fully expecting not to love the food and I'm so glad I was wrong. The seasoned fries were really good and reminded me of the fries they used to serve in the school cafeteria growing up. My mom and sister went to this location on January 14, 2019. The only reason I took so long to post review is because I was waiting for the business to appear on Yelp, but it never appeared. So I decided to open the page myself. My sister ordered the honey gold wings and they weren't fully cooked. Wings should be crispy even when they have sauce on them. I wasn't able to take a picture of the wings because she was so disgusted as her wings appeared as pink rubber covered in sauce. My mom also placed an order, she ordered a cheeseburger. A cheesebuger with the usual fixings, however, they add bag ties to their cheeseburgers for an added crunch, because that's what she bit into! We won't be visiting this location ever again!
