Well what can I say? I could have gone to Sizzler. My husband had the rib eye ordered medium. It came out rare. I had the beef tips, they were so tough and pretty sure they had been sitting a while. I don't like having to order at the counter and carrying my own bread to the table, also trying to find a table that was clean was even more of an effort! Also when a person does bring your food they should ask to remove the salad plates. I went to the counter to request extra butter and was met with an eye roll. I have friends who work at Texas Roadhouse but I have never tried it myself until this summer when my boyfriend and I went to Medford every week for his work training. The Eugene location is our home location and up until last week we have never had problems (my boyfriend also said he's never had problems in the years he's been going). One night the cashier accidentally rang us up for the regular price for two 8 oz sirloins. On Wednesday's they are advertised for $9.99. No problem, they had the manager come up and fix it. However when she rang us up "correctly" it still seemed too high even with my boyfriends added on loaded potato. We were so confused at that point we just went to find our seats and didn't argue. Then, we never got our rolls. When we finally told someone at the time we got our entrees, our rolls finally came out-hard and cold. Seemed like they were straight out of the bag. Now this seems like a minor problem but we have had excellent service and food every other time we have been here, so a minor problem like this seems magnified. Yes, we did come in an hour before close but that seems reasonable and warm rolls is a pretty basic request. This experience is actually what led me to start reviewing places - I went online to the Texas Roadhouse website and contacted them via email detailing our complaint. Within just a few hours, I received an email back from the general manager apologizing for the poor service; he asked me for our address so he could send us a gift card. Today I checked the mail and there was a letter with a gift card for two free entrees, up to a $30 value. For a minor problem such as cold rolls I was stoked about this! That is more than enough to cover a steak dinner for my boyfriend and I. The poor service from the other night was disappointing but between the prices, food, otherwise excellent customer service, and prompt response to our complaint, I have to give Roadhouse five stars. read more

My family was in Eugene for the weekend and this place was across the street from the hotel. At first we didn't know what to think. You stand in line, waiting to place your order. Luckily the menu is posted so you can decide before your turn to order. I'm fine with seating myself and getting my own beverages. We found a table and got settled in. From that point the experience was awesome! The dinner rolls with cinnamon butter are wonderful. My picky eater daughter ordered a small steak with fries. Both were perfectly cooked. The food is good, I will give them that. The service is horrible. First you have to order and pay at the counter like a food court. Then you have to hunt for an open table. Then you have to get back up to search for your forks, knife and napkin. They give you bread rolls and butter, but there is no butter knife available. I had to hunt for my own sauces. I had to beg for a to go bag. Overall the food is worth it, but you have to expect rudeness going in. An afternoon at VRC resulted in a desire for lunch on DLW's part. We ducked into Texas Roadhouse for a nosh, and came away wholly unimpressed. It had been a while since either of us had experienced this place (at other locations), and this confirmed why. It's a counter order system, with menu items displayed as you enter the building. Inside it is quite large, about 200 seats, with separate bar area. Country music blares at a reasonable volume. They still offer free peanuts, but now encourage you to throw the shells in a bucket instead of on the floor. I ordered a BBQ pork sandwich with steak fries and pickle. The meat was decently tender and flavorful, but the sauce was pretty sweet to my taste, and the fries were overly salted. DLW was not impressed with her ribeye. Although it was cooked to medium rare as specified, it was pretty thinly cut, and had a weird mushy texture that she found off-putting. It was probably chemically tenderized for too long. The house steak sauce didn't help much for being very sweet. The corn she got as a side was absolutely doused with sugar. Hard to believe some people consider this a destination spot. read more

It's a chain. A semi-decent chain. Are you going to get fantastic food? No. It will be ok, sometimes pretty darn good and they have a decent selection of beer and spirits to go with it. Try to stay away from the prime rib, they don't do that well. I've given them 2 opportunities to get it right and they only manage to disappoint with something that is too overcooked (even when ordering medium-rare/rare) and not juicy enough. Their strip steaks are somewhat better, but always order your steaks cooked a bit rarer than you might usually order. Under no circumstances should you ever order anything well done, hell, stay away from medium too. The atmosphere is nice, good place to watch a game. The service is fine too. They are pretty good about making sure you have a beer on order before your current drink is empty, which is a big plus in my book. read more

It wasn't what we expected. We were ushered in and handed a menu and told to wait in line to order. The area to read the menu in was dimly lit and the people I was with couldn't read the menu due to eye problems and I had to read it for them both. I like to relax and have something to drink while reading a menu for the first time at the place and that didn't happen. I hate feeling rushed to make up my mind on what to order and I felt rushed with all the folks in line waiting to order behind me. If I want to order before sitting down, I'll go to Sizzler. My husband ordered a cheeseburger and fires, my mom and I split the rib and chicken dinner with fries. We had the fried onion appetizer also. After ordering we were given glasses and told we had to fill our own beverages and find our own table to sit at. The place was very noisy and with the others in the party being hard of hearing you either had to shout or not talk at all. Then having to get your own beverages was rough as my mom and my husband both have trouble walking and use a cane. Once our food was delivered we never saw the wait staff again. The food came and it was ok. My husband said that Carl's Jr. makes a better cheeseburger that what he had. The dinner I shared with my mom was ok the chicken was cooked good and the ribs fell off the bone and their sauce was ok. I prefer McgGath's Fishhouse for Pork ribs or even Applebees. I will not be going back here as I can get better food at other places and better service in a atmosphere that is more relaxing and enjoyable. read more

This place has been great in the past , big portions to share but today was a different story. My husband and I ordered a cheese burger and 2 side salads for lunch. My complaint list as to what went wrong: 1) 20 mins. to get our food. 2) Salads came that looked like someone through it in a bowl and I had to "weed" through to the good portion of the salad. 3) when our cheese burger finally came for us to share which came with an extra plate that was dirty (had to ask for a new one). The burger smaller then usual and the fries were greasy and very few on the plate. All for the price of $22. POOR quality food. Service was ok. Good steaks with occasionally over cooked due to hot spots on their grill. Rolls are fresh for majority of our visits. I didn't care for the update to full service. Took a long time to get our salads. Within 5 minutes, our steaks and potatoes were brought to our table. By the time we finished our salad, our steaks were cool because we had to cut into it for doneness. I missed the 1,2,3 steps ordering. We used to go there twice a month. We didn't order at the counter. That seems a little weird to me. If you go to the back of the restaurant they have traditional seating there. Sat and ate at the bar, good service. Lots of TVs for watching the game. I give their steak a grade of B. Better than average but not going to impress you. I had the ribeye. Their bread appetizer is very good! I also had a shake for dessert, which is really good too. The service was above average in the bar space. They were pretty busy, but attentive. I am not giving 5 stars for two reasons. First, I didn't experience the main part of the restaurant which is the counter style order. It didn't look too enjoyable to me. Secondly, because they don't explain the traditional seating option available. No signs, no nothing. Had I not yelped this place in depth before going we would have had no idea. All of the food tasted alright. Problem was both of our steaks were slightly over cooked (A1 to the rescue) and our mashed potatoes were room temperature. His chili was actually cold enough he sent it back to be warmed up. I had the sangria margarita which was deeelish. Our server Sarah was fantastic. Not over baring but very timely and helpful. Our experience @ Texas Roadhouse has always been good until tonight at the Eugene restaurant. Both my husband & I ordered the 3 filet medallions, he ordered his medium rare and mine were to be cooked medium. Both our meals were over cooked but my medium order came out charred & shriveled. I had ordered the tasty sautéed mushroom sauce option so I didn't immediately notice how well done my filets were. I managed to eat one of the three 3oz filets but when our waitress came to inquire about our meal I pointed out how blackened my steaks were. She offered to get me new filets which I appreciated but by that time we were 3/4 of the way finished & we didn't want to wait for a new meal, so I declined. (Besides, I'd already eaten most of my sides) silly me for thinking they would take a few bucks off or at least comp a dessert. Instead our very nice waitress bought out the check & thanked us for dining at Texas Roadhouse. Oh well que sera sera. This place was not impressive. Our cactus blossom that we ordered was not good at all. It just tasted like old cooking oil. My husband got the pulled pork which he said was okay. I think my dish was called beef tips. It was sirloin pieces, sauteed mushrooms, and onions served on mashed potatoes. It tasted okay but didn't sit well with me. This was first time going there. Food portions are huge lots of left overs! We sat in the server section were they come to your table for your order. It was very very slow service they were super packed and under staffed. Our server did a great job once she got to us but could tell she was panicky! Pretty disappointed both times I've been here. My burger the first time was just okay. Nothing terribly special about the experience. Waitress was nice and for the most part on top of things. However, the second time I came on my birthday and ordered a big ribeye steak. Now, I realize it happens, but when you're at a "steakhouse" shouldn't the person on the grill be able to cook a ribeye to order? Anyway, I had to send my completely rare $30 ribeye back to be cooked to medium rare, while my date waited with her food getting cold. Took a while to flag down a server to take it back too. Such yummy food. The rolls and sweet butter are dangerous since they are endless. You've got to remember that food is coming even though they are so good. The pulled pork sandwich is great. A great amount of food for a great price! My husband and I love the Country Fried Chicken. It's huge! On top of that, you get big portions of food for the sides, free refills, and unlimited bread rolls with honey butter. The wait staff has always been nice and we've always gotten decent seats. The only real issue is when it gets super busy and you literally stand in line like you're about to get on a ride and it can be kinda loud sometimes. Plus, if you're someone who never gets the weekends off, it can kinda suck cause they open at 3:30 pm on every day except Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE AND HORRIBLE ATTITUDES - I placed an order for take-out, in-person. I went in the front door waiting to be seated or even acknowledged and was ignored. I flagged someone down. I was told to go in through a side door left of the entrance. That door had a sign that said "employees only." I rang the bell - no answer. I looked inside to see a young(ish) woman staring at her phone. I knocked on the glass. She came and took my order. She also took my phone number and said it would be ready in about 20 minutes. I waited outside for 40 minutes before knocking on the glass again. I told her I never got a call about my order. She said they don't call when it's ready . . . which raises some questions . . . How am I supposed to know when my order's ready if you don't tell me? Why did you take my number if you didn't intend to call me when it's ready or even 20 minutes after? I began to ask these questions and she just closed the door in my face and left the room. I knocked again - no answer. I opened the door and waited. After a few minutes, she returned to her post. I asked her again. How was I to know? Why take my number? She said that they never call but it's part of their system to take my number anyway - that she "doesn't make up the system." Well, it kinda looks like you might be makin' something up because you left me waiting out here and apparently forgot to call me because you were playing on your phone at work. Not only did I have to wait out in the cold for twice as long as I should have only to receive cold ribs, not only did she offer no explanation or apology, not only did she twice walked away from me while I was talking to her in a perfectly respectful tone with a perfectly valid grievance . . . on top of all that, I'd already tipped 20% for disgraceful service. If her superiors are interested in addressing this conduct with her, she was about 5' 8", slender build, with less than an inch of hair on her head, and working the side entrance around 9:30 on 3/6 . . . disgraceful. read more

When you try to plan a birthday party there they will not help you out what so ever and say it is first come first serve they cant reserve a table.
