The only complaint I have about this Texas Roadhouse is that they routinely fail to properly proof their rolls, and aren't the rolls one of the primary reasons we all love this place? The rolls are dense, instead of fluffy. Outside of that, their food is good and the staff are mostly great, except for one in particular who is overly zealous and overly personal, but it is better than not caring at all, I guess. The quality of Texas Roadhouse has gone down over the past several years, IMO. We are likely to frequent a different popular steak house that is actually nearer to us in Ft. Myers, anyway. The prices are comparable, and they give you a small brown bread loaf with real butter (not that yucky sweet stuff), which is not as good as buttery rolls; however, this particular Texas Roadhouse does not make them properly anyway. read more

I know this is a chain, but that also means consistency no matter if you are in Orlando or Fort Myers. We visited this establishment with a party of 8. They did a great job serving us all. Josh was the training manager, and he was very attentive and personable. Jessi was our server, and it was her first night at this location. She did awesome. The food was fantastic as always. Today's experience was not very good. We use call ahead swatting which works very well. We were seated quickly. The area we were seated the AC was not working very well. It was very warm. We placed our order steak and a salad. We received our salads less than two minutes later our steaks had come out. You can't eat both at the same time. The runner made excuses. They said the salad makers were behind. I told her to take my steak back can't eat both at the same time. She did. Then the waiter came over later to check on us. He wanted to know how everything was and where was my steak. I told him both things came out at practically the same time and I refused the steak. His excuse was that these things happen sometime. The do you want me to take the steak of the bill. Wrong questions. He should have said I'll take the steak of your bill. What can I do to make it better. These things didn't happen . Really liked this new location in Estero! Very busy. Order before 5pm and have a handful of dining specials with two sides for $9.99! I had the Grilled BBQ Chicken Dinner with cup of chili and a caesar salad (Yes, for $9.99.) It was quite tasty! Dinner started with warm rolls served with Texas Roadhouse's signature cinnamon butter. I ordered a red sangria and it was huge (think small fish bowl!) for $6.29 with lots of fresh fruit. I also loved that some of the decor on the walls paid tribute to the area (huge Estero Bay painting) and another huge painting near the bar regarding FGCU Eagles. Nice touch. The peanuts are no longer available on a self-serve basis in the large barrels, but you can still get them by asking your server and they will bring a large portion out to you. First time at Texas Roadhouse in Estero was very disappointing. I had the 12 oz strip steak with mushrooms ($20) due to them being out of prime rib.The steak and mushrooms were really burnt on the outside, a lot of fat on the steak. The mashed potatoes were lumpy and tasteless. The Cesar salad was excellent! My daughter had the boneless chicken and enjoyed that. Staff was friendly and attentive. read more

Its no wonder this place was pretty empty at 6pm last night. We sat at the bar. The bartenders were totally inattentive. Never got rolls until we were 3/4 thru the meal. Never asked us about a 2nd beverage. Lost out there. My daughters steak came and it was raw. Sent it back and 2nd attempt was still raw. They ask you to cut into it each time so eventually its totally dry. It finally came 20 min later and was overdone. Then...no one checked on us despite the bartenders knowing what was happening. Friday night dinner 6:30 pm, fairly busy staff very friendly. My wife ordered a burger no bun med rare, food arrived and her burger was well done on a bun, no big deal sent it back and after about 15 to 20 minutes they brought her burger and it was rare, too rare, so she sent it back and they took it off the check. My meal was ok, chili came out barely warm so I sent it back and it came back hot but without a spoon lol. When we tried to pay our check the kiosk on the table gave us a bill that was not our bill but it was $20 less than our bill. The server corrected it and we paid our correct bill less the burger charge. The best thing was the house salad. What was truly disappointing was the absence of management. The manager never came to our table and I never saw a manager in the restaurant on a Friday night no less! The place was fairly clean and had a nice ambiance. We stopped in for a birthday dinner and our server Charlie was on top of everything there was 5 adults and a toddle So it was a challenge. He laughed and smiled , never once made us feel bother some. We have had some really bad service not there but where a waitress was racist we don't look like we are rich but when service is top notch we comment and tip well. I was super impressed he is new to the area and is going back to Louisiana to help clean up after the hurricane. I couldn't wait for the Estero location to open since I live in Estero and wouldn't have to drive 15 miles to Fort Myers which I would give 5 stars to. I have been to other locations when I lived in Texas which were just as good. Unfortunately I have to say I am very disappointed with this location, starting with the rolls. At first I thought it was due to just opening but after 21/2 months they should pretty much have the bugs straightened out, but the food doesn't compare to Fort Myers. I may find myself going back to Fort Myers if they don't get their act together. Update 01/12/2020 Went last night to give it a last chance to see if they improved. It was the worst experience yet. I requested the entre not be brought until we were finished with our salad. They came about 1 minute after we received our salads. They took them back to keep warm which I wasn't thrilled with. When they did come back with them the ribs I ordered were totally dried out and not edible. Even additional sauce didn't help. The manager came over and said he would make a new plate. He/they evidently forgot about them because 20 minutes later it was never brought. At that point I told them to forget it. I doubt that I will ever return to this location and go back to Fort Myers even though it is 15 miles away. read more
