We've been coming to Naples for well over 15 years, and somehow this was our first visit to Rib City. It definitely won't be our last. The restaurant has exactly the kind of atmosphere you'd expect from a great barbecue joint. Since it's the off season, it was nice and quiet when we arrived, but by the time we were finishing dinner, more and more people were coming in. We started with the corn nuggets, and they were fantastic. The ranch dressing deserves a special mention because it was some of the best we've had. Try mixing a little of their barbecue sauce into the ranch. The combination of sweet and savory is so good. We shared the spare rib and quarter chicken combo with barbecue baked beans, mac and cheese, and Texas toast. The barbecue was cooked perfectly. So many places over-smoke their meat, but Rib City gets the balance just right. You get a nice smoky flavor, then a light finish from the wood-fired grill that adds just the right amount of char. I noticed they have some mixed reviews, but our experience was excellent from start to finish. The food was delicious, the service was friendly, and the prices were a pleasant surprise. We had all of that food for under $40, which is hard to find in Naples these days. If you've been thinking about trying Rib City, go for it. Great food, great service, and excellent value. I've always enjoyed my visits to Rib City - great food, excellent service, and fun atmosphere. Most recently I ate there on "thirsty Thursday " and enjoyed 49 cent drafts. We recently had lunch at a local rib joint, with old style country decor. This is the kind of restaurant you'd expect to see in a small Florida town, surrounded by Spanish moss and maybe a gator or two bellowing in the background. Rib City is located right on Tamiami Trail, with high end shopping and expensive car dealerships. The fact that this little restaurant is still here, says a lot about the food they serve. We were hungry and the fried okra looked like a good starter. Our server bought it out quickly, along with some very good sweet tea. The okra was hot and crisp and served with a good ranch dressing. On to the mains, I went with bbq chicken, green beans and mac and cheese. Hubs decided on grilled sausage with bbq beans and coleslaw. Somehow, our orders got a little turned around, but no problem. The food was good, they offer a nice variety on the menu with generous portions and decent prices. My chicken had that perfect outdoor grilled taste. Our server was great, she came by several times to ask how things were and for refills on that yummy sweet tea. I'd be interested in a return trip to try their bbq ribs. Just pissing me off, had to travel over 30 minutes to this fuckass restaurant because the one near us closed, sat a group of 5 in a small ass booth and when we asked the server she said we could pull up a chair, so we did. Not even five seconds later a different bitch of a server said it was a fucking fire hazard?? Why did the other dumbass say that we could?? Barely squeaked by with a 4 reduced to a minus 3 because the price does not come close to the quality. Brisket was disappointing, almost like a lightly smoked sliced thin, prime rib. There are four types of barbecue sauce. The regular one did it for me. The draft beers are very small. I have only been to Rib City twice before, most recently over a year ago and not this location. The service was nice and friendly, with the waitress patiently reminding me of the menu items they offer. My son thought his burger was okay (his is picky) and my wife enjoy her shrimp and ribs. I enjoyed the full stab ribs combo with chicken, corn and baked potato. The ribs are pretty good and tender, and the chicken, while small, had the deepest smoke flavoring I have ever had. The price was reasonable. The only negative part of this experience was Rib City seems to be on the bandwagon with other restaurants who are dishonest in their tipping recommendations. Despite the universal standard that tips should be calculated pre-tax, Rib City has elected to offer tip suggestions on the post tax amount. For a smaller bill this may not be much, but it add's up and those who already think they are tipping a generous 20% do not realize they are actually tipping even more. read more

The meal was enormous. Corn on the cob, sliced pork, Cole slaw, Texas toast, and St. Louis style ribs. What I liked the most was the sliced pork, Cole Slaw, and the corn on the cob. The ribs were somewhat smoked but they were finished on a grill which made them very tough. I don't like my ribs to "fall of the bone" as they are way over cooked when they do. A perfect rib has a slight tug when you bite into it then separates from the bone. These had the tug but no separation. Our server, Taylor, what very nice if a bit inattentive. I introduced my parents to Rib City, in which they loved the food, and started frequenting the location. Monday, they visited this location only to be made to never want to come back. Waited 30 minutes for their food, while they watched everyone who came in after them to be served. When they went to leave, they were promised by management they would have their food within 5 minutes. 25 minutes went by, when they had to ask for their food AGAIN. The food finally came out, only for the ribs to be raw inside and burnt outside. The BBQ sandwich was soggy and unfit to eat. They tried to tell the waitress, only to get continued attitude. Management came to the table, 3rd visit, only to offer 20% off or a free piece of pie. What a joke! When a meal is not fit to eat, you comp the bill, and if you care ANYTHING about someone's return, you offer them an incentive on top of the comped meal. Especially in this situation! I ordered the 1/2 rack of baby back ribs lunch special with 2 sides (ordered cole slaw & baked beans which were great and tasted fresh). When my food arrived the waitress mentioned the 1/2 rack on my plate was too small so she asked the cooks to add more to my order. My server brought out another 1/2 rack of ribs which was unexpected but nice. The ribs were tender, smokey, flavorful and not dry. They offer a few BBQ sauces: sweet, mustard, tangy and hot. Been coming here for years and what I like about Rib City is they're consistent with their bbq. The place is big inside with a log cabin pit smoked feel to it. It's very casual and can accommodate big or small parties. They also have a kid friendly menu and children under 4 can get a free one piece smoked chicken and a side. Wednesday's are $.50 cent beer night and a nice savings to the wallet. The Skyscraper was delicious,moist and served with a side of slaw and fries. The Coleslaw is one of my favorites in town as it's super creamy and flavorful. They also make a really good homemade regular and spicy ranch dressing that is bomb! Perfect for dipping some hot cheese fries into. The ribs are always pleasant and reasonably priced. The baby back ribs, in my opinion, are more tender and tastier than their spare ribs which I recommend those when deciding. The Waffle Cheese Fries spectacular covered in mounds of hot gooey cheese and topped with bacon. Overall very pleased with the Naples location and there is another location by Alico and I75 if that is a bit closer. However... First - the Mac and Cheese tastes like it came out if a box. And in my opinion, nowadays we have entire restaurants built on Mac and Cheese if all kinds. I come here every spring break without a miss. The whole family orders a full rack of ribs, Arnie's, and onion rings. I have to say, coming to Rib City is one of my favorite traditions! Hands down the softest rib meat -- falls right off the bone just by touching it. Consistently delicious and good. Ask for the spicy BBQ (red bottle, never kept on the table you have to ask for it). I lather my ribs in this spicy sauce and the rich flavor from the meat pairs like a dream. Can't believe it's only $15. I always pair it with corn and beans. We had a server, David, who was only on his second day there, and man did he impress us! Very attentive, kind, and always making sure our orders were right and drinks were refilled. Great waiter with a great attitude. This is what keeps us coming back! Highly recommend if you're looking for a fun atmosphere, fall off the bone ribs, and roll-me-out-of-here fullness.
