... 09 March 2026 ... We were hungry. So "we" ( me ) decided to go to near by Rib City. The 3 of us entered the restaurant and were immediately greeted and seated. Menus were presented to us by our lovely and sweet waitress, JOSLYN. She gave us enough time to peruse the menu and to decide what we were going to order. Two of us ordered the combo of half slab of Ribs and half order of shrimp along with Cole slaw and bbq baked beans. One of us ordered a combo of Ribs & Chicken dinner. When our order arrived I looked at my half slab of Ribs and thought that these are the smallest Ribs I've ever seen. I was contemplating registering a complaint but I was too hungry to do so. I dug into the baked beans and was surprised that though a small order they tasted pretty good. I then moved onto the Cole Slaw and that was rich and creamy and tasted pretty good too. Next I grabbed one of those tiny little Ribs and placed it in my mouth and it was oh so good ( surprise ). Even the garlic toast was delicious. I was completely disarmed by the savory taste of the food. My complaint was quickly dismissed. As for how small the portions were I was surprisingly full midway through dinner. My 1 star review quickly became a 4 Star review. I subtracted one star cuz the Ribs were small. When they called them "Baby" Back Ribs , they were not kidding. They were "BABY" back ribs. ( But Good ) Nevertheless, After all is said and done I might consider a return visit to Rib City. Cuz this visit was hmmm hmmm good. So good. read more

First time here as recommended by my family who come here every year they visit Florida. So I got the dinner entree with baby back ribs and turkey and two sides . To be honest, the only thing that was worth coming back for and tastes good is the ribs! I mean it should right?! So we are going again and I am just getting a rack of ribs . The meat comes off the bone and so tender and delicious! The bbq sauce is amazing and is gluten friendly' so I could eat it! But yeah the potato, green beans, other sides not big deal, but the ribs, oh man!! Our waitress was ginger and she was amazing! She even brought over a mac and cheese for mg five year old ad he wasn't eating much and she wanted to make sure he ate something. So sweet! She is a mom and gets it! I picked up 13 racks of baby back ribs and Mac and cheese for Easter. Very nice place and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They even threw in a bottle of their signature sauce. The ribs were absolutely delicious as well as the Mac and cheese. read more

We had dinner at rib City on January 17. Two members of our party ordered salad with blue cheese dressing. It was noted that the dressing was warm instead of cold. The next morning my wife work up woke up with gastrointestinal problems. The salad dressing was most likely left outside of a refrigerator and allowed bacterial growth. The ribs are always good there, but be careful when ordering salad dressing. Make sure that it's cold I'm not warm or room temperature. read more

I have to say in writing this review I have a broken heart. We have been visiting this Rib city for years at least twice a month. And every time we have had good service and delicious food, which is why we keep coming back. We believe in fact, we know Rib city has the best ribs and the best barbecue in the country. So when we have a hankering for barbecue ribs, this is where we come. However, a few days ago, our hearts were broken. The lobby wait time wasn't bad and the hostess was pleasant and she did her best to get seated quickly and probably only waited 20 minutes in that time we realized they were probably short staffed because it looked like the hostess was doing double duty with clearing tables and getting drinks and stuff. So, anyway, finally she shows us to our table. We sit at the table, patiently obedient, watching servers walk back-and-forth passing us for 20 minutes. Not one of these employees stopped and said, how are you? I'll be with you. Would you like some drinks? Nothing we didn't even get a glance. Then as we sat there, we grew hungrier. It smelled really good in there. So now we're sad and disappointed and salivating. After that 20 minutes at our table, we pretty much figured out we were not going to get service so we left. Nobody asked why we were leaving. Nobody said have a nice day. Not one person acknowledged our presence after the hostess seated us.. We ended up at a restaurant down the street that also served ribs although they weren't as delicious. We still had our ribs. I really wanted Rib City. So I don't know what the solution is, maybe more staff. I know that's a problem here with restaurants and retail, but it could at least just people are sitting there staring at each other and nothing's going on, at least have one employee say "Have you been served?" We didn't even get that so I'm heartbroken because I love this place. They even helped us out in the pandemic by staying open so we could still have delicious ribs. Oh well, everybody has a bad day I get that, but I also expect restaurants to acknowledge their customers and it may be really hard to convince my husband to go back there anytime soon. I was in the mood for a sliced brisket sandwich and there are not many bbq options in the area. The service was friendly and the sandwich pretty good. There was a fair amount of fat which took a couple minutes to cut off, and the fries were pretty boring. I also always find it a little strange when bbq restaurant provided the sauces in pre-sealed small portions. I'm not naïve enough to think restaurant make there sauces onsite but nothing says "chain" and "manufactured" like peeling off the lid of an assembly line sauce in a plastic container. I would have liked a baked potato but that is only available after 4pm. For those who may be COVID concerned, this is the only restaurant I have been to in months that did not have any signs asking people to wear a mask (on the way to the table). And as a result I didn't see anyone wearing a mask while entering or leaving but the employees all did. And they use disposable menus. I will be back, would appropriate expectations. read more

They seemed more interested in their cell phone. The food was cold and not tasteful. We will not be back. I would not recommend going to this restaurant. They don't seem to care about their food, quality or customer service. I think if the management cared they would be out in front. No one was around to make sure we were taken care of. The host told us that the GM is Sami but she never came back to check on us. Our food was cold and tasteful. I was working out of town when I found this place, and was it ever a find! My measure of any good BBQ place are the ribs, and the brisket. Since I was working, I didn't feel like getting messy with the ribs, so I got the brisket platter. It was juicy and lean, with a great smoky taste and no wonder, the huge hi-tech smoker in back was making the whole neighborhood hungry. I got the St Louis Ribs with andouille sausage. Ribs were delicious. Sausage too. My biz partner got baby backs and also gives them 4/5. Sides (beans and Mac/cheese) great compliments. We were in town to see an Everglades game at Hertz Arena and decided to stop at this location for dinner. Let's start with the ribs, very dry, overcooked, and very little meat. Then the sliced pork was super dry but on top of that they were barely warm. I have eaten at the original location on West palm beach Blvd just north in Fort Myers. What ai would say about this ocation is the food is OK. but not as good as the older locations. I will tell you on a positive note that Emily the of the waitstaff was great she helped keep the score higher. We had the Pick two and the Baby backs were so small and barely any meat on the bones I mentioned it to the staff and they just shrugged. Rib City is not what it used to be. The baby back ribs were tiny and dry/overcooked, which was a disappointment. I don't think ribs can come any smaller. The server was inattentive, passing our table repeatedly while my drink was completely gone. I asked her if I could get a refill and she replied yes, but never came back. Then continued to pass us repeatedly before I asked again a second time for the first refill that never happened. I didn't even bother complaining and I still left a good tip. I just feel bad for the server and the restaurant because when food and service is that bad, I can't help but just feel sorry for them. It's a shame. I won't be returning because I think it's too far from fixing. What is better than walking across the parking lot and going to a restaurant...eating the best ribs ever!!!! We walked right in and because it was our first time we were explained everything. First thing they only serve beer and wine. But even better some great sweet tea. They bring a basket to your table with napkins and hand wipes. Basket is for your bones. Third visit to this place over past two years or so, and I still do not care for the food. Tonight I chose a 1/4 lb beef hot dog on a bun with went with sweet potato fries (additional $1.29 to switch out from traditional french fries.) The hot dog tasted like it had been sitting around too long, and it had a greasy taste to it. The sweet potato fries were tasteful. Would like to have been perhaps chili, soup or Caesar salad as menu options for those of us who are not big bbq or meat eaters. Felt like a home cooked meal because of its' simplicity. But simple is sometimes enough. I had the Rib and Rib Combo with mac and cheese and beans. I preferred the St. Louis ribs over their baby back ribs. Besides having more meat, I guess my baby back ribs was dry oh some parts. Before I knew it, I've finished my ribs and my side dishes which is uncommon for me. Rating would have been five stars on the main dish. We have been eating at this restaurant for 10 years, in fact we followed it from their old location on Daniels, but, we haven't visited since before the hurricane a little over a year ago! I don't think we will be coming back! Yesterday, we took our son to this Rib City for lunch and we all three ordered the brisket sandwich. Service was prompt, efficient and very courteous but that is where the "good" ended! When we received our food, we quickly noticed the brisket was dry and tasted like it had been sitting on the stove too long and my wife's brisket was 95% "fat", so we informed the waitress and ask for a replacement order......in a few minutes she returned with a new order but she informed us that the cook said it was NOT fat, said he told her he would not serve fat meat, but we went through the brisket with her (piece by piece) and showed her the "fat"!!!! What kind of cook argues with a customer when the customer is looking right the fat meat! Oh well, we just won't go back! read more

While on vacation in Estero at the Embassy Suites hotel we got an urge to have some ribs while we are literally right across the parking lot from Rib City. I ordered the full slab of ribs expecting them to be on the smaller side from all the reviews I had read but I was ok with that. What I wasn't ok with was that they were dry, overcooked and still had the membrane on the underside. These are not what ribs are supposed to be and I would not recommend these to my worst enemy. Of the meat I was able to pick out from the membrane and the leather top side, it was tender and fairly tasty but I was severely disappointed in the quality. If there is another rib joint in the area, I would try that first......yuck! P.S. And I'm not having a bad day, they really were bad. read more
